Mhm that's right its Nightfall 2.0, my epic attempt to fix everything about the original (which had a lot of problems). This will be a lot shorter as well, its supposed to be a 2 hr movie but I suck at animating So imma write it down for now.

If you're a reader of the OG, plz don't spoil it in the reviews, until the ending, that is. There are mostly the same twists, with a couple of extra surprises!

Two kits, four months each, trekked through the woods. The nearly pure black one, with only a few white spots on his tail, paws and muzzle realized how small he was compared to the trees, not paying much attention to his sister, a snow-white she-cat.

A scream erupted from behind them, from a long way away. His sister, Snowkit, stopped and glanced back in fear. She tried to put on a noble expression, but the reality of their situation made Nightkit fill with dread. "We should go back," Snowkit blurted unexpectedly, "thats what a noble warrior would do, right?"

Nightkit stared at her. "We're supposed to go to CaveClan territory to find help!"
Snowkit looked upon the path ahead again, the path they were told would lead them to CaveClan territory. Hopefully a patrol would find them, and CaveClan would send help to FireClan, before it was too late. Snowkit sighed. "I guess you're right, our duty is to follow what Mom said."

Nightkit wasn't sure of his surroundings. Everything sounded distorted and he couldn't properly see. He was lying on the ground, and he felt a sharp pain in his side. Leaves crinkled near him as someone else approached. He heard distorted voices calling something. He felt a paw brush against his pelt, but he did not move. The voice called someone else out, but Nightkit couldn't understand anything they said. Something stumbled over him and went a few paces by Nightkit. Its voice screamed. Nightkit felt his chest start to tighten as it pierced his ears. His vision became clearer, and he knew what it saw in front of him.

Introduction

Four Clans all live in harmony in a large territory, located in Switzerland.

On one quarter is LightClan, who are mostly nice and eat fish out of their lake. They haven't had any problems lately, and mostly keep to themselves.
On the other quarter is IceClan, living up on some small mountain slopes, known for hunting birds and whatever they can find up there. They are constantly at odds with FireClan, though they don't share a border, the two are polar opposites.

On the third quarter is CaveClan, a Clan who primarily hunts in huge caverns that stretch deep into the other territories. They spend a lot of time underground, and are the most secretive of the Clans.

FireClan is our main Clan, the standard forest cats who mostly hunt mice. They are competitive to IceClan as well, but also considered to be very noble.

If you came from a classic upbringing into these Clans, you might be confused on why no one mentions StarClan. All the Clans will ask you to never mention it.

Nightstorm walked happily through the woods, a sand colored she-cat named Sandfur by his side. He had woken up earlier than usual, the sun just rising, which always satisfied him. After that, he sat around the camp; waiting for instructions from the deputy, Snakefang. He was assigned a border patrol to CaveClan's border with Sandfur, who was his friend. The pairing of them in patrols was a usual occurrence. Nightstorm never complained, since he didn't fit in with the rest of the Clan as well and found it easier to speak with Sandfur.

The other cat behind the two friends was Whiteheart, who Nightstorm didn't really know much of. He had heard she had fought a fox once during a patrol many moons ago, and was given the rank of warrior, since she had only been an apprentice at the time of the attack. Nightstorm had never really been in a battle, only having practiced with his mentor during his apprenticeship. He had been disorganized with his attention during training, but was clearly better at hunting, rather than combat. He knew the best attacks and defense, but hadn't executed them properly. One thing Patchpelt clearly despised about Nightstorm was his terrible reflexes. "Honestly, I have to alert him every time before I do something, what's a good warrior with that?" said Patchpelt once, as Nightstorm had overheard once.

Nightstorm never loathed Patchpelt, since he acted kindly towards Nightstorm, for the most part. It just felt unfair to Nightstorm, who truly was trying his best.

Luckily, through his difficulties, Sandfur had helped him. Of course, she was superior at training, but showed a lack of motivation for hunting and combat. Many cats rumored that Sandfur got it easy because she was Yellowstar's daughter; the leader of the Clan, who most of the cats liked just fine as the leader. Nightstorm knew that if he heard cats talk about Sandfur in a negative light, she would overhear it as well, but she never mentioned it. Nightstorm appreciated Yellowstar though, who kept a little bit of competitiveness with IceClan, but stopped anything that went too far, like when a FireClan cat clawed an IceClan cat during the gathering of the four Clans, though the two told different stories of how exactly it happened.

"And yeah, I told Owlclaw to just stop going after birds and stick to ground prey!" said Sandfur, a hit of irritation in her eyes.

Nightstorm snapped back to reality and pretended that he was interested. "What'd he say?" he asked.

Sandfur chuckled this time. "H-he said, 'I was called Owlclaw for a reason!' and stormed off!"

Nightstorm frowned a little. "Well he's stupid, obviously, but-" he was cut off by Sandfur turning to him.

"But what?"

Nightstorm sighed. "He might get better at hunting birds. I don't mean to sound cringy, but even if he acts like a fool, what's the problem with it?"
Sandfur looked slightly surprised. "He might hurt himself!"
Nightstorm thought about the deepest quote he could think of. "Then he will learn," Nightstorm said jokingly.

Sandfur laughed at his attempt to mock some of the "wise" cats around FireClan. "I guess you're right," she said, looking at the ground, "sometimes I just can't help setting some cats straight."
"Well if you want to improve your look around the camp, criticizing others might not do the trick-" Nighstorm was cut off by Whiteheart this time.

"We're at the CaveClan border!" she shouted, standing a far way in front of them.

"Eh, I'll bring this up later," Nightstorm mumbled, before he and Sandfur sprinted to Whiteheart's location.

When Nightstorm and Sandfur arrived at the border, they noticed Whiteheart peering at the trees. Nightstorm also eyed them, and spotted silhouettes moving behind the oaks. "CaveClan patrol?" he asked.
Whiteheart didn't take her eyes off the blurs. "Maybe," she said, a hint of suspicion in her voice.

Sandfur glanced at Nightstorm, then back at Whiteheart. "What could they possibly want…" she groaned.

"Why would we care, as long as they stay inside their territory," said Whiteheart.
The silhouettes came out of the trees and revealed themselves to be three CaveClan cats, walking near the border. "Is this a border patrol?" Whiteheart voiced to them.

What seemed like the leader of the patrol, a brown tom with black stripes, hesiated. "No!" he replied.

"Well then what do you want?" asked Whiteheart.

"It's complicated-" said the tom.

"I can listen," said Whiteheart.

The tom prepared himself. "We had a cat go missing from our camp; we noticed a short while ago, and I was sent with my Clanmates on a search party."
"Who's missing?" asked Sandfur, curious about the situation.

"A warrior named Lakeheart."
"So why are you at our border then?"
"Well, we've been following her trail, and it seems to have crossed into your territory!"

Nightstorm blinked. Why would she go into our territory? Whiteheart still seemed suspicious, even after this bizarre information. "Where is the scent?" she questioned.

The tom followed the trail farther down, until he reached the edge of his territory. "That's far enough," meowed Whiteheart, stepping down to him until the two were only a fox length apart.

The rest of the FireClan patrol padded over to where they were, finding the area covered in CaveClan scent. "We request to come into your territory, to help find her," revealed the tom from CaveClan.

Whiteheart tilted her head. "Why not just let us handle it?"
The tom rolled his eyes. "We were afraid she had been getting into some trouble with a cat from FireClan- though we don't know who, and we want to talk to her, as fellow Clanmates."
Whiteheart thought for a second, then nodded. "Very well, we shall follow the trail, together."
Sandfur widened her eyes. "Shouldn't we ask permission from Yellowstar first?"
"She will be understanding, and right now, we want to find her as soon as possible," replied Whiteheart, casting a quick look at Sandfur and then Nightstorm.
Sandfur murmured something and then shrugged. "Let's find Lakeheart…"

Nightstorm was feeling mixed on "finding" Lakeheart, mostly just because he didn't know what to expect, making him feel anxious. The six cats walked through the woods, with the leader of the CaveClan patrol following the trail. Whiteheart still seemed a little suspicious. She never moved her eyes off him and the others. Nightstorm thought of tons of ways the CaveClan cats could be leading them into the trap, trying to find a way into Whiteheart's perspective, but all of them seemed non-plausible. Sandfur seemed to be bored, and Nightstorm agreed, since they would be back in camp if it weren't for them coming across the CaveClan patrol.

However, the curiosity of the case and the fact someone went missing kept Nightstorm a little on edge, even if it was most likely nothing serious. He could hardly remember the last time someone vanished, since the Clans had been in a state of peace for a long time, ever since Nightstorm had been an apprentice.

Eventually, after walking across what seemed to be the entire territory, Nightstorm noticed that the trail had shifted. There was a slight slope downward, and upon further inspection, Nightstorm realized it was a small opening in the ground, a fox length long, leading into a dark abyss. He couldn't see what was down there. Sandfur also came towards the edge peering at the opening but backing away instinctively. "What the hell…" murmured Whiteheart, standing back a fair distance.

The leader of the CaveClan patrol, who Nightstorm had overheard as being named Thistlefall, appeared to be more concerned, rather than confused. "If she was wandering around here last night… she could've fallen in without knowing… Oh StarClan…" he said, turning away from the opening to look at his surroundings, "there could be another entrance somewhere around here!"

Nightstorm still wanted to see how deep the opening went, and dipped his head in. "Hello?" he echoed, sound bouncing off against the walls, giving the impression that it was an incredibly spacious area.

He glanced back at the others, who were searching for an entrance. "Nightstorm, over here!" shouted Sandfur, pointing her tail to the other warriors who were waiting for him.

He padded over and saw that Thistlefall found another entrance many fox lengths away, this time being level ground. "Are you sure?" asked Nightstorm, concern in his voice.

He had never liked caverns. He had heard many stories of cats being lost in there, starving to death, or being drowned by extremely unlucky storms, causing the caverns to fill up quickly. Of course these stories could just be there to scare kits, but there was a sense of legitimacy to them. "We'll only go in a bit and see if we can find a trail," replied Thistefall.

Nightstorm realized that would work. They all stepped inside, Nightstorm noticing a piece of brown fur on the entrance, which he ignored. Nightstorm couldn't see much when going a few steps in, the darkness closing in on him. His vision hadn't adjusted yet, but he did notice something strange on the wall, but put it off, like the fur, and continued following the group, descending into the darkness.

Three circles painted onto a stone wall, interconnected, one on top, two on bottom.

Reviews make my day, and constructive criticismis always welcome! I'm actually really enjoying writing this, unlike Frostbite, which I had trouble with, so I'll keep this updated. Honestly, this specific story is my complete passion right now, even if its just a fanfiction. Cya :3
