Disclaimer: I do not own Prodigal Son or the movie Crazy, Stupid, Love. I just came up with this a while ago because I think Edrisa needs more love.

Summary: People suck and Edrisa Tanaka was sick of being the butt of everyone's jokes. She was ready to take action; starting with meeting up with the sexy guy at the bar.

Notes: My inspiration for the character Jack is D.J. Cotrona from the show From Dusk till Dawn, I think he is just yum

XOXOX

As she stood in the dark and cold morgue wearing this ridiculously expensive designer dress, she realized two things:

One: Malcolm Bright needed his eyes checked because she looked smoking hot, not just nice.

Two: He was using her feelings for him against her.

It was a bitter pill to swallow but it was time she faced the facts. Malcolm Bright was not into her and yet he knew (he had to know!) that she had feelings for him and didn't inform her it wasn't going to happen. He continued stringing her along for his own gratification.

She thought Bright was at least her friend, but seeing him look at the effort she put into tonight and him not even having the decency to let her down easy, just filled her with a red hot rage she's never felt before. She did everything she could for him! She believed in him when no one else did! The least he could do was treat her with respect and not his personal errand girl/cheerleader.

She quickly changed back into her work clothes so she could return the dress and went on to cleaning up the rose petals from the autopsy table. She also put the blood to be analyzed, even though she wanted nothing more than to throw it away.

As she did so, she recalled every encounter she's ever had with Bright and couldn't help but notice that unless he needed something from her, he didn't talk to her. It hit her like a bucket of cold water to her face, he never truly liked her at all, just what she could do for him.

She also remembers all of the pity looks and smiles from his partners whenever she spoke to him. The disrespect she received from Detective Arroyo, JT, and Dani was constant.

It pissed her off even more!

She threw the petals into the trash harshly and quickly snatched her things from her office. She was a mother fucking doctor damnit! She worked her ass off every single day and she was not going to be disrespected!

When she returned the dress she just purchased two hours earlier, she told the salesclerk it didn't do it for her. Thankfully, the clerk could see she was not in the mood for some push back and gave her the return swiftly.

With comfort that the money was going to be back in her account, she walked out of the store with a purpose:

She needed a drink and she knew exactly where she was going to get one.

The bar closest to her house was not by any means, the best. It wasn't the prettiest, the cleanest, or even the cheapest. However, there was one thing that the bar usually had that no other one did.

Jack DeLuca.

The gorgeous hunk of a man was usually there; charming the men and women there with a smile and intelligent conversations. He was a regular at the bar and was known to pick up whoever he caught his sights on.

With his full black hair, tanned skin, deep brown eyes, he's made people melt with just a look. Even his scruff was sexy as hell.

Their paths crossed almost as soon as she started going to the bar. When he approached her three years ago, she told him she was flattered but she wasn't the type to hook up; he nodded respectfully and moved on to someone else. However, whenever they saw each other, he gave a small wave with a drop dead gorgeous smirk, letting her know the offer was still available.

He was eight years younger than her, she only knew because he celebrated his 28th last year and he asked her if he was man enough for her yet.

"Almost" she recalls herself telling him in her usual dorky yet flirtatious way.

The smile he gave her when he walked away haunted her in the best way for over a week.

He totally was smoking hot and she was definitely tempted. He has a Greek God, Italian look to him that totally did it for her and god knows she has needs. She can't even remember the last time she was with anyone. But last year she was fawning over Bright.

It started raining heavily while she was in the taxi and she prayed he was in tonight. It was going to be very anticlimactic if he wasn't. She was running on fumes practically, and she wanted to make an entrance.

She almost threw the money at the poor driver and bolted out of the taxi. Since it was raining, by the time she reached the door she was drenched. Her coat and clothes were sticking to her, hair flattened, and her glasses wet that she almost couldn't see. But she couldn't stop; if she did she wouldn't go through with it.

When she walked inside, she saw him instantly. He was leaning over, sweet talking a beautiful and definitely more endowed woman than herself. Before she could lose her cool she yells in her most authoritative voice.

"Hey Jack!"

He turns, straightening himself up before giving her a confused look as he takes in her appearance from across the room. He turns his back to the other woman almost immediately, a fact that shocked her and made her feel brave.

Before he could say anything she walks towards him determinedly and kisses him. He kisses back, almost naturally but refrains from touching her. It wasn't until she opens her mouth for him that he melts into the kiss, wraps his arms around her and lifts her feet off the ground.

The kiss was passionate, fueled by lust and long term sexual desire. His scent, his taste, the way he lifted her as if she was nothing, made her feel dizzy with desire. She can't remember the last time she was kissed this well; probably never. She kissed him with everything she had and knew without a doubt that she was giving in, she wanted him, and by the feel of him, he wanted her too

After a couple minutes the need to breath became apparent; their lips only broke apart by only inches, they were both panting, not tearing their gaze off the other; even with her glasses fogging up.

"You still want to take me home?" She asked in a husky voice she didn't even recognize in herself.

He didn't even hesitate before he nodded.

"Yes." His breathy answer sent a pleasant shiver down her spine.

She nodded back giving her usual grin as he slowly brought her down to the floor. He can't help but grin back at her and that gives her the courage she needs to keep this up.

"Good, let's go." She says and takes his hand to pull him towards the door. He starts slowly down and for a second she thought he was going to reject her.

"Can I grab my coat? I'll drive." He asked almost laughing. She stops for a second before releasing his hand.

"Hurry." She tells him and he gives her that same smirk that was the star of her fantasies more than she would ever admit.

"Yes Ma'am." He tells her before he quickly grabs his coat and keys and returns to her side. It was his turn to take her hand and lead her out the bar.
