What makes a true hero? That is a question that everyone in this world made to themselves at least once, and I am not different. I asked myself this for a long time, it is the money? the fame? how powerful it is?

A true hero is someone that saves people, makes them feel safe, inspires them to be the best they can be, even make them become heroes themselves. Those that mark their name in history are known for a status greater than "hero" they become LEGENDS. I am Izuku Midoriya, and that is the story about how I became a legend myself with the help of the legends from the past.

-/ THE COUNTER GUARDIAN /-

"W-wait Kacchan!" the 4 years old boy with green hair and emerald eyes run as fast as his tiny legs allow him to do. Katsumi Bakugo the other 4 years old kid with blonde hair that was just a little below her shoulders going ahead of the group doesn't slow down or stop, she just turns her head to look at the kid that was struggling to keep with his friend running.

"Hurry up Icchan, we are going to finally discover what is your quirk, so why are you the one that is getting behind?" she then looks at her mother Mitsuki a short-hair blonde that was beautiful and made many looks at her no matter where she goes and her "aunt" Inko the green hair that go bellow her shoulders help to add the image of "sweet mother" she was as beautiful as Mitsuki but with a calm aura around her which make people smile just by looking at her, chatting with each other while they accompany the kids to the doctor.

It was finally the day Izuku dreamed his whole life, to discover what his quirk was, that was the first step to become a hero like his parents. He did try everything, fire breath like his father, which resulted in a burnt tongue when Katsumi suggested eating fire, pull things like his mother, try control fire, which was again Kacchan's idea and made them almost burn the house, but nothing worked. After so much time they decide to go see the doctor to know what was happening

"Katsumi, slow down. we are here to support Izuku and Inko, not to train for the Olympics." Mitsuki is used to her daughter being impatient, she thought that was the result of her quirk that gave her a short temper, or maybe she just got this from her, the blonde mother knew she had a strong personality, her husband was the quiet one.

"Come to one Mitsuki, you two being here wasn't necessary. I would tell you as soon as I could" Izuku mother was always the calm and sweet woman that anyone would be lucky to know." Plus, Hisashi said that he would try to run here the fastest that he could" the smile on the green-headed woman was so bright that Mitsuki was glad that she was wearing sunglasses.

"Of course it was necessary! I wouldn't miss the opportunity to discover what my favorite nephew quirk is, you and Katsumi will be amazing heroes in the future, I know that for sure!"Mitsuki is always so confident in herself, Inko wishes she was like her sometimes.

"Of course we will! I will be the number one like All Might and Icchan will be the 2nd like Endeavor, but don't expect to become number one Icchan, you won't be stronger than me, no matter what your quirk is, I can explode stones now, but we will train and become better every day."Katsumi said all that while waiting for Izuku to catch his breath, she was always kinda rude to everyone, even if by accident, but that was because she always said what was in her mind.

"We will be great heroes Kacchan! I can't wait to discover what my quirk is."The boy smiles and starts running again, he can't wait to discover what his quirk is. Both mothers look at them with smiles on their faces, happy that their kids get along so well, even with Katsumi's harsh traces.

"Inko, did Hisashi told izuku his true power?"Mitsuki looks at her friend with concern on her face.

"No, we just said that his quirk is fire breath. we don't want to worry him and I can only hope Izuku doesn't have to discover."The mother has a sad smile on her face. She really hopes that her son's quirk is a small variation of her because her husband's concern about his own power could become even greater if Izuku inherits his quirk.

"Hey! Look, Izuku will be okay, we have dealt with this in the past with Hisashi and now he is able to help your son with this too, Don't forget that he was the strongest of us, besides he has my Katsumi to protect him, seriously, when we are home is always Icchan this and Icchan that" The blonde try comfort her best friend and see a tiny smile on her face. Mitsuki, her husband Masaru, Inko, and her husband Hisashi know each other since they were kids, they did train to be heroes and were even accepted into UA, the best hero college in Japan, Mitsuki did enter the support department, her husband was in the general studies, while Inko and Hisashi were in the hero course.

After 5 minutes of walking the group finally reach the clinic and Izuku did the test, they are sitting together waiting for the result. Izuku and Katsumi are playing with their phones like every kid would, while Mitsuki and Inko chat. After 10 minutes they are called and they sit in front of the bald medic.

"Miss Midoriya, your son quirk is called "LEGEND", the quirk allows him to use the powers of the legends, legendary weapons, armors, abilities, etc; as long as is know as a legend, the kid can use, but he can only use the legends that he knows, and he can only use the powers of legends the way they are recorded, he can't create something based on what isn't recognized as a legend."The mother stops hearing after she discovered her son quirk, she starts to get worried, she feels Mitsuki light squeeze in her hand, she already knew what to expect, her husband quirk had been the target for many villains and governments around the world, but she expected her son to be spared from this.

Meanwhile, Izuku is happy to discover his quirk, he can be a hero now a true hero like his father, and All might, the kid then decided to ask the doctor"So i just need to study?"

"Indeed young man! you can use your power if you memorize legends, if you don't understand the legend or got any detail wrong, then you can't use it"The doctor looks at the kid, already planning how to tell his contacts about such wait the power mature a little would be better.

"Woah! that looks cool Icchan, my dad has some books about knights, maybe we can use those?"Katsumi already made plans to search for books so Izuku can start to memorize, the sooner they start training, the better.

The walk home was quiet for the mothers, Inko was worried about her son future now, Mitsuki understand why, Hisashi made his best to hide his power, only using fire breath when he was doing public works, but they knew that if he wanted, he could win even all might without a problem. That was the reason he had to hide it and be an underground hero. Both mothers looked at Izuku, the kid was smiling while talking with Katsumi about which legend they should read first.

They then see a familiar face running to them, Inko couldn't help but smile when her husband came with a big smile on his face, Hisashi was handsome since they were teenagers, always and no matter how many girls(and sometimes guys, which made them laugh at him) confessed to him, his heart always belonged to Inko. He was a tall man, 7,9 feet tall, and had good muscles, not like All might or Endeavor, but he also didn't need. His green hair was in a simple undercut which worked with a styled small beard.

"Hey, kids!" He just grabs Izuku with his son and hugs him while pat Katsumi's head, then he walks to both mothers."Hey Mitsuki"The blonde shake his hand with a smile on her face, no matter that they see each other every day the 4 of them were always happy to see each other, then he turns around to his wife and kiss her, it was a simple kiss, but full of love and to mark his territory, he then pulls back and looks at her eyes."Hello, reason of my life!"

Even after all those years the couple still acted like that, Mitsuki loved to tease them since she acted like Hisashi wingman to try to confess to Inko. But He could see that his wife was worried and since his son was smiling so much he could already guess what it was.

"Dad! I got a quirk, is really cool, is called Legend."Izuku was happy to tell his father about his quirk, Hisashi was worried about his son's future but wouldn't let this get in the ways of his son's happiness, he would die before someone could touch his family. The rest of the walk was happy with the family together, Masaru reached them after leaving work and Mitsuki couldn't resist kissing him as Hisashi did with Inko. Masaru wasn't ripped as Hisashi, he was 5'9 feet tall with short brown hair, both couples had those moments where they just had a little competition about who loved the spouse more.

After the kids went to play in Izuku's room the four decided to talk in the living room, they needed to decide how to deal with Izuku's quirk, since he now could have a target in his back.

"I will train him"Hisashi was the first to speak, it was his quirk after all."Izuku need to be able to control his quirk before something bad happens to him as it did to me, I know he wants to be a hero, and i doubt that we can forbid him to do it, we can't hide every book in the world and with the internet? He will have access to any legend, the least i can do is try to teach him how dangerous his power is."It was clear that this was something they needed to work on as soon as possible.

"I agree"Masaru looks at his friend, already knowing what Izuku would face from now on."I know you may not agree Inko, but Izuku at least will have our help to explore his power."He knew that Inko worried easy with anything, Hisashi could throw a bus, dodge bullets, and heal any injury, but if Inko sees him with a simple cut on the cheek, she starts to worry he may die, is funny to see and Mitsuki loved to tease her about it, but that only shows how much she loves her family.

"Yeah, we will be there for him all the way. No one can touch Izuku, besides Katsumi wouldn't let anyone go near him without a fight."She was sure her daughter would protect her friend no matter what, it was one of the things she got from her father, one of the many reasons she loves her husband.

"I know, he will have the support from us, but i can't stop worrying about what can happen, what if some villain tries to get him? what if the hero association tries to get him, we know that they don't care about anything besides their interest, and since they are the government, they can justify anything."Her husband hugs her when he see the tears falling.

"Inko, look at me, "She slowly turns to her husband and see the same smile that made her love all these years."Our son will be okay, he will have us, all of us on his side. I know how much your support helped me, now i need you to join us and help our son."

"Okay, i will."Hisashi then kiss her, Masaru and Mitsuki couldn't resist smiling at the scene."How do we start? We need to have some legend that isn't so dangerous."

"I have the perfect for that"Hisashi then leave to get the book he wanted and come back with a big smile on his face." This one!" then he shows the cover and Masaru read the cover.

"The counter guardians? Wasn't that the first legend you memorized?" The three couldn't help but smile at Hisashi's choice, of course, he would choose the first legend he used to be his son first too.

"So, how long you think it will take for my daughter to notice her number one place already belong to Izuku?"Mitsuki laughed just thinking about her daughter's reaction when she realizes what Izuku can do. The four parents called both kids so Hisashi could give Izuku the book, so they could start train in the morning.

"Look Izuku, i just want you to memorize what you can, for now, tomorrow morning we will begin training and i will show you what you can do."Hisashi then looks at his son face and notice he have something in his mind."What's wrong son?"

"Dad... your quirk isn't fire breath right?" The child had a concerned look on his face, he didn't want to call his father a liar, but he did hear sometimes his mother talking about his quirk.

"No son, my quirk is legend too, but i prefer to hide so i can help more people without getting attention, my fire breath came from the dragons' legends, i can use other elements too, but i keep the fire breath so no one would notice something like that when they have someone like Endeavor around, "Izuku seen to understand what his father means, at least a little."You will understand when you get older." He then pats his son head." now you kids have two more hours before dinner, after that you can play for one more hour before Katsumi have to go home ok?"

"Yes, uncle" Katsumi then grab Izuku and the book and run to his room"Hurry Icchan, you need to memorize this so we can start training together."The parents can't stop smiling at the scene.

When the kids got into Izuku's room they started to read the book and Izuku couldn't help but smile when he see the struggles that the hero had to face. The two hours passed, they eat dinner and go back to read a little more until Katsumi and to go. Izuku couldn't sleep, he was really interested in the book, he took at least 2 more hours before he couldn't keep his eyes open anymore." Emiya, the counter guardian that wanted to be a hero of justice since he was a kid, he is like me, i hope his dream became true" and with that last thought, he finally sleeps.

In the next day Hisashi was with Izuku and Katsumi in the yard, Inko, Masaru and Mitsuki were working so it was only him today."Alright Izuku, tell me what you remember from the book." Even if he was training his son to use such power, he keeps the same bright smile on his face, try to act like a dictator wouldn't help his progress after all.

"Emiya had a power like mine, he can create any weapon as long as he could remember what was made of, he wanted to be a hero of justice to protect people" Izuku was with a shy smile on his face, uncertain if he said everything right.

"Very well, that is correct, his legend is not as know as king Arthur, Heracles or Cú Chulainn, but still is a good legend to start." He then made a simple sword." this is a simple iron sword, i can reinforce it or make it with any other material as long as Emiya knew how to make it."The kids look at the sword with great interest, then nod "Now, do you want to see what was the most powerful attack from Emiya?" Both kids noded wanting to see what the hero was capable of."Okay then, but both need to promise to never tell this to anyone okay?"They nodded again, unable to say anything after seeing him creating a sword without problem, they really wanted to know what it was now"All right then, look close son because you will be able to do that someday" Hisashi then take a deep breath and start reciting the chant.

"My body is made out of swords.

My blood is of iron and my heart of glass.

I have overcome countless battlefields.

Not even once retreating,

Not even once being understood.

Unknown to Death,

Nor known to Life.

He was always alone, intoxicated with victory in a hill of swords.

Thus, his life has no meaning.

That body was certainly made out of swords.

Have withstood pain to create many weapons

Yet, those hands will never hold anything

So as I pray, Unlimited Blade Works."

As soon as he finishes, light envelops him and both kids, when Izuku and Katsumi open their eyes their jaws were on the floor, around them it was some kind of arid land full of swords, the sky had gears that didn't look like it was connected but still moved. Hisashi couldn't help but smile at the kids, their reactions are the same as their parents the first time he did that.

"I can make all the weapons here attack at the same time, but that doesn't mean someone can't grab one of those weapons and use it against me, i only used this one time against a villain, because his quirk could destroy the city and we didn't have time to evacuate."Both kids just looked at him and there they realize.

"Uncle is a badass!" Katsumi's respect for her uncle skyrocket after that, she ten notice that Izuku would be able to do the same if he finished the book, she need to train harder, or she would lose.

Hisashi then breathes and they are back to his yard. He then looks at his son and he could see that he was now looking at him with those emerald eyes full of expectations and dreams, the journey will be long, it will be hard, but he believes in him."After you memorize a legend, you will be able to use the noble phantasm once a day, but you can use other minor aspects from the legend, the noble phantasm is what made the legend famous, can be a weapon, a situation, a simple lucky shot, it doesn't matter, in this case, what made the legend of the counter guardians, is the chant that he used to summon his weapons. "The kids then start to show that they couldn't wait to start."Now, son, your journey begins here!"

Author notes:

The legends will be based on the servants of fate grand order, izuku won't be Op, in the beginning, he will learn more legends and become stronger, but it will be slower since he still needs to learn that the power to become a legend comes with a price. That is my first fic, so i want sincere reviews and will try to reply as soon as i can, but please keep things in a civil level. And about what ship it will be, i don't know yet, i will think about it and if i can't decide i will make a poll.
