A/N: Though this story is set in Greece, I have decided to use generic American-English names to save myself from going insane, and for the sake of ease of writing and reading. Enjoy! :)

{1} Some Guy Dies.

Have you ever wanted to see a man fly out of an alleyway at mach speeds?

No? What a shame, because I'm going to tell you anyway.

It was the Wednesday before the summer holidays in Athens, and everything was as about as interesting as you would expect.

I was walking home from school, just happy to have another day done. I looked around the streets on which I was I was walking, and they were as about as interesting as you would expect, only the occasional bit of litter spiced things up, but the rest was as painfully generically modernized as you would expect. Of course, not all of the city is like this, but some sure is, at least the places I frequented to go back to my house were.

I didn't really think as I walked, occupied with different things, my mind wandered, I didn't even register how the streets all around me were completely empty, or even the strange, loud, noises coming from the alleyway very near me.

BANG!

A vague blur of a man in a snazzy black suit went flying out of the ally only a few feet in front of me. I froze in shock, unable to speak or move. My ears rang from the blast and my eyes stung from the flash of light that lingered even after the sound.

Once I had mentally recovered, I whipped my eyes over to the man who had flown from the alleyway. To my surprise, all that was left was a giant crater in the wall opposite to the alleyway, and a small bit of opaque black dust, like ash, falling gingerly to the ground. For a second, the crater flickered, and disappeared, leaving no trace of the blast, but it snapped back into reality just as quickly as it had gone.

"Hey," A feminine voice called out from my side.

I turned to see a chocolate brown skinned, black haired, girl of about my age, 14 or 15, stood a few feet away from me, at the entrance to the alleyway. She was wearing quite normal, casual, clothes for someone my age, a blue t-shirt with some writing embroidered over where her heart would be and some shorts, accompanied by a beaded necklace. Well, they would be if not for the metre long bronze sword at her side. Her eyes were a brilliant brown, and she had quite an accomplished look on her face.

"What brings you here this time of the day?"
