A/N: Most characters and the main plot belongs to J.K Rowling. I do not own them.
July 31st 1991
Harry Potter, a boy of eleven years old with jet black hair, emerald green eyes and a lightning bolt shaped scar on his head had just found out that he was a wizard that very morning. He was currently walking towards the wizarding bank called Gringott's along with his giant of a friend: Hagrid. He couldn't believe the things that had transpired on that day, not only did he find out that he was a wizard, he also found out that his parents were in fact murdered and not killed in a car crash.
As he walked into the bank, he felt his jaw drop at the site. The whole building was made of marble and there were some weird creatures at different stations. Harry and Hagrid were heading for the teller at the far end of the bank, the one nearest a sort of gates that Harry wondered where it led.
Arriving at their destination, they waited for the teller to acknowledge them nor did he seem the least bit interested. So, naturally, Hagrid cleared his throat a little louder that one normally would. This gained the attention of the goblin.
"Mr. Harry Potter wishes to make a withdrawal" Hagrid stated
The goblin peered over his desk. "Ah, Mr. Potter, the goblin leader Ragnok wishes to talk with you about your vaults, you will be able to make your withdrawal afterwards. I will go and notify him of your arrival". He left without another glance at either of them
Harry looked at Hagrid hoping to see understanding on the man's face but he only saw confusion, so he didn't ask any questions and just waited for the goblin to return. Two minutes later he did. "Mr. Potter, Ragnok is waiting for you, you will find him down the administration corridor, the third door on the left"
"O-Okay, thank you, can Hagrid come with me ?" He asked hesitantly from fright of angering the goblin.
But before the goblin could even answer, Hagrid intervened. "Sorry 'Arry, but I can't. Got some 'Ogwarts business to attend to meself, I'll wait in here for ya" Harry nodded grimly and made his way over to the administration corridor a little nervously about what the problem was. This part of the bank wasn't as nice as the other part which led him to guess that people don't often come down here which increased his nervousness even further. He arrived at the door, he hesitated for a few seconds before knocking. There was a rough "Come in" from the other side of the door and he entered.
The room wasn't overly decorated but still had a few odds and ends to show a bit of character. In the middle of the room was a rather nice looking desk with several piles of parchment on top of it. Behind the desk was a rather old looking goblin who was well-dressed and gave a sense of knowledge just from the way he held himself. Behind him, there was a window which looked down upon Diagon Alley, but it was probably bewitched as this office was the opposite side of the bank to the alley, he reminded himself.
After around thirty seconds of looking around, the goblin seemed to have finished what he was doing a lifted his gaze upon Harry and gestured for him to settle himself on the chair on Harry's side of the desk. "Welcome Mr. Potter, I hope it doesn't trouble you but we have some business to attend to today as you have turned eleven years old concerning your inheritance"
Harry a bit surprised at that nodded for Ragnok to continue. He pulled something out of one of the drawers of his desk and passed it over to Harry. It was a bowl with a piece of parchment in it and a knife at it's side. "It's to make sure you are who you say you are" the goblin mentioned seeing the confused look on Harry's face." Just gently cut your finger and let three drops of blood into the bowl, once it's done, your finger will automatically be healed"
As Harry couldn't think of a reason to not do as Ragnok said, cut his finger and dropped three drops into it, the bowl glowed a light golden color and his finger healed. Ragnok pulled the bowl towards his a removed the parchment and read it. With a satisfied look he put the bowl back in the drawer and the parchment disappeared.
"Now," Ragnok said, "Seen as you are the last remaining Potter alive, you have the ability to read your parents Will. Is this what you want ?"
"Yes please" Harry replied without a moments thought
Ragnok pulled out a piece of parchment out of his desk and handed it over to Harry. He unfolded it and began reading.
I, Lily Jade Potter née Evans, being of sound mind and health, declare this as my last Will and Testament. Any prior wills made by me are now null and void
I, James Charlus Potter, being of sound mind and health, declare this as my last Will and Testament. Any prior wills made by me are now null and void
To Sirius Orion Black we leave 250,000 galleons, we know you don't need it but use it to buy things to remember us by or for things you wouldn't buy for yourself. Settle down and get yourself a wife, and make sure Harry grows up well
To Remus John Lupin, we leave 250,000 galleons and all our research for a Lycanthropy. We hope you can figure out the rest of it. Please enjoy yourself and stop pitying yourself, you're a good man no matter of your condition
To Peter Pettigrew, we wish you the worst life possible for betraying us and leaving Harry without his parents. You deserve the worst place in hell for what you did
To Harry James Potter, we leave everything else. We are sorry we weren't able to raise you but hope you have had a good childhood with either Sirius or Remus or both. Just know that we loved you dearly and we hope you do well in your schooling.
We request that in the event of our deaths, the guardianship of our son go to the following, in that order:
Sirius Orion Black, Godfather through Godparent ritual
Remus John Lupin, Honorary Uncle
Under no circumstances is he to be placed under the guardianship of Petunia and Vernon Dursley as they do not like witches or wizards, nor will they be able to prepare Harry for a man of his position. If none of the guardians above are not available, he is to be placed into a family that will be able to teach him our ways and culture, they must also be able to train him in dueling. The family that takes over guardianship of Harry will be paid five thousand galleons a month to aid in his care.
Signed,
Lord James Charlus Potter

Harry was shocked that he had grown up with neither of the people specified in his parents Will but was taken to the exact people he wasn't meant to live with. Nor did he understand what his parents were on about 'someone of his position'. It was all rather confusing for him so he decided to ask questions.
"Why was I placed with the people that were specifically said I wasn't to be placed with and where are Sirius Black and Remus Lupin ?" was the first question that popped to mind
"The reason behind your placing with Vernon and Petunia Dursley was because your parents will never was released to the public therefore nobody knew of it except Lord Black, who is currently in prison for killing thirteen muggles and betraying your parents to Voldemort," at this Harry gave him a curious look which the goblin understood "the person who gave you that scar and killed your parents, and Albus Dumbledore who is the one to have placed you with them. And Lord Black as I said is in Azkaban, the wizard prison" he noted after another curious look "and Mr. Lupin has not been in Great Britain since November of 1981, probably because he had lost everyone that he knew and wanted to get away from all the reminders of his old friends.
Harry looked thoughtful for a moment before asking another question "What did my parent mean by 'a person of his station ?"
"Ah that is precisely the next matter we wished to discuss anyways. You Mr. Potter are the heir to the Ancient and Most Noble House of Potter, which means you are to be a Lord later on and that you will have a seat at the Wizengamot, the wizarding government." Harry, in a state of full shock couldn't even say anything he only nodded. "Please follow me so we can get your Heir ring. It will grant you your family magic but you won't be able to access your position as Lord until you are 14 unless a reason for you to be emancipated comes up"
After this, the goblin got up and Harry followed. They walked out of the door and instead of turning right to go back to the bank's lobby, they turned left through another door where there was a circle with some weird symbols lying around it carved into the floor.
"This is a ritual circle, you will be required to put on the ring and make a vow to uphold your family honor and customs". Ragnok went on to explain to Harry exactly how to do this, and ushered Harry to the center of the circle. Ragnok then proceeded to leave the room and came back in a minute later with a wooden box with a family crest on top. Harry guessed that it was his family's. Ragnok then passed him the ring which he put on and it resized itself to fit Harry's finger perfectly, which Harry found to be a nice touch. He then told Harry to proceed with the vow which he did.
"I, Harry James Potter, Heir to the Ancient and Most Noble House of Potter, vow to uphold my family honor and customs to the best of my ability and to retain and increase the respect given to the Potter House. So mote it be." As soon as he finished he felt what must be magic flowing into him and there was a golden light coming from around his body. It ended after a few seconds and Harry took that to mean that his family magic accepted him.
The goblin, seeming satisfied with this led Harry back into his office. Once they arrived and had again found their seats, Ragnok seemed to be in deep thought. Harry not really knowing what to do, just waited and hoped it wouldn't be for too long as he needed a good night's sleep to think over the happenings of the day. After a couple of minutes, Ragnok seemed to make up his mind. "Heir Potter, would you be willing to do a health check with one of our healers ? I can feel dark magic coming from that scar of yours and I fear that it isn't helping your health"
Harry, not really what else to say just agreed and found himself out of the office again and heading to one of the other doors in the corridor until he reached the door the closest to the bank's lobby and entered. Ragnok and the Healer were talking in a language that Harry didn't recognize and decided that it must be their normal language, with English being a language they learned so they could run the bank.
Ragnok then proceeded to enter while motioning with his hand for Harry to follow and they entered a room that didn't exactly scream hospital to Harry but what would he know of that, he had never been to one anyways. It was a room that, like the lobby of the bank was made from marble but this was a room which was about twice the size of Ragnok's office but it wasn't an office. Sure there was a table in the center, but it didn't look much like a desk, rather like an operational table, or what he imagined an old one looking like. The goblin Healer motioned for Harry to lie down on it so he did.
After the 2 goblins finished their conversation, the goblin healer, who presented herself as Dullblade, started passing her hands a few inches above Harry's body and head. Going by the look on her face, she didn't impressed as she passed it over his body, but when she passed it over his scar, it was a different look that graced her face : shock, horror ? Harry couldn't tell, he only knew that it couldn't be good. She was noting a load of things onto a piece of parchment which Harry guessed to be the results of his test.
She then snapped her finger above his ribs and Harry heard a crunch which didn't sound good but definitely felt it. She then tried the same over his scar but nothing happened. She didn't seem surprised tho and just continued snapping her fingers over other areas of his body, none sounding good but all felt good.
"I have healed all the injuries you have suffered that hadn't properly healed and I have also scanned that scar of yours and there is definitely some residual magic there which seems to be the magical signature of one Tom Marvolo Riddle also known as Voldemort." Harry's eyes opened wide at this.
"Is there any way of removing it ?" he asked full of hope in his voice
"Yes," she replied, "but it won't be pleasant. It is also blocking your magical core by 57%. Do you want this fixed now or later on, knowing that I don't know what this might do to you if it stays in your head for too long ?"
Without giving it much thought but going fully on what Dullblade said, he immediately decided to go through with the procedure. The goblin nodded and Harry and Dullblade made their way through a back door in the office while Ragnok went to tell Hagrid that Harry was busy and would be for a while and that they would contact someone to help with his shopping. Hagrid left without an answer to his question about what Harry was doing.
