It was morning in Equestria, as the princess of friendship, Twilight Sparkle, and her friends, Applejack, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, and Rainbow Dash, along with her assistant and little brother Spike, were gathered around the map table, watching as a quill flew around them, drawing runes in a six pointed star formation with them in the center.
"Umm, darling, you know that I trust you, but it's just that I'm a little uncomfortable with being used in an untested spell" Rarity says as she looks at Twilight nervously.
"I told you Rarity, this spell requires all of us to pull it off. Besides, don't you want to see what lies beyond our world? Think of all the knowledge we'll gain if-WHEN, this works" She says as she sets the quill down trying to play her little slipup off.
Pinkie proceeds to hop up onto the map, "Yeah, think of all of the party ideas!" she exclaims, tossing confetti into the air, which is then immediately surrounded by twilight's aura as she gathers it up.
"Be careful, Pinkie, that could've messed up the spell" she says as she puts it in a distant part of the room. "now, is everybody ready?" She asks as Pinkie gets back in her chair, getting nods of confirmation from her friends. "Alright everypony, and dragon, place your right forehoof, or claw, onto the map" she says, lighting up her horn as they all follow her direction.
The runes around them rapidly light up before coalescing into a big sphere of light, nearly blinding them, and forcing them to look away as it grows brighter and brighter before flashing one last time and then dying down, leaving a small black book sitting in the center of the map, with a large window floating above it.
Twilight's the first to look up, blinking spots out of her eyes and saying, "it's over, you can all look, now" before levitating the book over to herself.
The others quickly look up, staring at the window, and nearly jumping as a picture comes up onto it as twilight reads the title of the book "Order and Chaos" she says before looking at Fluttershy and asking, "Do you think Discord would like to join us for this?"
Fluttershy thinks for a moment before saying, "he might, but he said he was doing something important and not to call him unless it was an emergency"
Twilight looks a bit confused, wondering what he could be doing before deciding that it probably wasn't worth the headache she'd get by thinking about it. "Alright, then if we're all ready, I'll start the reading." She says, waiting for everyone's confirmation before opening the book, "Chapter 1: And Logic Vanished in a Puff of God"
