Ladybug saw her partner shed a tear while he told her to save him. She wiped it away and said, "my poor Kitty," before she asked him where the akuma went and tried to figure it out when he grabbed her arm, putting her hand over his heart.
"Here, but it's already broken." He said with a smile, never feeling-or as he liked puns would say "feline"-this devastated before due to her constantly rejecting him. She's always shot down his feelings towards her because neither of them is supposed to know the other's true identity, but it's never been this bad since he's usually optimistic instead of being akumatized like this. Even though he was optimistic about her returning his feelings one day, doesn't mean that he wasn't angry and devastated over it because he is since her alter ego broke up with him when he was Adrien. She fought him and they ended up on the ground before she got up and ran to the edge of the building, using her powers to softly land safely away from her partner.
"Now you're breaking more than my heart, Marinette." He replied, bitterly as he jumped down as well, following her since she's running from him.
The blue haired girl is shocked by hearing what Cat Blanc said. "What?!" She lands inches away from him.
"Give me a hug... MARINETTE!"
"You're wrong! I'm not Marinette!" She jumped over stuff that was in the water as she continued, "It's impossible, I never told you anything!"
"Give me your Miraculous so I can make everything go back to the way it was! MEGA-CATACLYSM!" He fires it towards her, but she jumps off. The building collapses and causes a flood.
"Things were PURR-FECT until Hawk Moth found out about everything. Once the cat is out of the bag, it's only a matter of time 'till everyone knows. It was our love that did this to the world, m'lady." She left and he looked for her.
"I'll find you, m'lady! And when I do, you'll give me your Miraculous!" She tackled him to the ground, grabbed his belt and tore it. Cat Blanc tells Ladybug that she will give him her Miraculous.
Ladybug attacks from behind and grabs his staff. "Time to de-evil—!" However, she finds no akuma inside it. He fires multiple Cataclysms at her, which she dodges, and then says that she can end his reign of terror more quickly by handing her Miraculous to him.
"Looking for my Akuma, m'lady?!" He tries to attack her with lights, but she dodges it. "There's a faster way to make this end, you know. You just need to hand over..YOUR MIRACULOUS!"
"Never! Lucky Charm!" An eraser is summoned. She looked around, but nothing came to her.
"This isn't you." She replied, stepping away from him, knowing she never told him who she was.
"It is now because I found out your identity before you broke up with me by saying that you don't love me anymore."
She raised an eyebrow, looking at him, confused. "The letter." She realized as Cat Noir-she refuses to call him by his new alter ego since that one is akumatized and he would always be himself to her instead of Blanc-smirked at her, nodding.
"Correct, but I'm afraid it's too late." He replied as she flew into the air and landed on a different roof to her right. He followed and sat down a few feet away from her like a cat would, tilting his head to the left as he looked at her."You left me by myself after I was akumatized." He said, coldly.
"I'm sorry, but it won't happen again." She replied, wanting to try and reason with him and get back on his good side again.
"I promise I won't leave anymore." She said.
"It won't, because it's over." He replied before the ground collapsed underneath her feet and she tried to hold on. Feeling adrenaline going through her along with her determination to save them both, she swung her feet towards the roof and landed back on the ground using her yo yo to help her by throwing it in the air and having it wrap around a pole. She smirked at her partner.
"Surprised to see me?" She asked, unwrapping her yo yo and spinning it around next to her right side.
"Mega Cataclysm." He replied, using it to destroy an entire building. Ladybug looked at him, feeling guilty for hurting him so badly. "Cat, stop."
"Why?" He asked with a raised eyebrow. "Because I don't like seeing you this way." She frowned as she stepped towards him, wanting to help ease his pain."How ironic considering that you're the one who broke up with me." He scoffed, rolling his eyes, annoyed, hurt and angry. He was tempted to take the miraculous from her and change the past, so they could be together. She was-and still is deep down-his lady, but he felt betrayed since she wasn't listening to him. She's not giving him her miraculous nor is she even attempting to help him change things to how everything was before. He didn't even think she loves him anymore.
"I did it to protect you." She replied, knowing it's a lame excuse while telling the truth at the same time, trying to keep him talking enough since he would be distracted.
"Great excuse." He said, dryly.
"I'm serious. If we were dating in either persona, we'd get distracted trying to keep each other safe. I continued rejecting you for a reason, but I didn't know who you really were and I still don't."
"Salt on the wound, M'lady." He replied, bitterly.
"What do you want me to say?" She asked, raising an eyebrow. She walked towards him until they were inches apart.
"I want you to help me, but you won't."
"I'd like to erase the past but there's only one way. You know that combining our Miraculous together can grant one wish, right? Mine is to fix everything so that we can be in love again." He prepares to take her earrings, but she tackles him and snatches his belt while discovers that the akuma isn't in there.
"You're not even listening." He stands up. "You don't understand." He replied and crumbles the ground in front of Ladybug, who falls under water. Ladybug goes down below and sees destroyed versions of herself and Hawk Moth. Bunnyx continues to investigate and learns that Ladybug and Cat Noir had located Hawk Moth. Fighting the enemy in his repository, Cat Noir prepares to use Cataclysm, but Hawk Moth says that he doesn't want to do that while calling him by his real name, revealing that he knows his secret identity. He then shows Emilie's body and reveals that everything he is doing is to bring her back. Cat Noir realizes that Hawk Moth is his father and is horrified, repeatedly asking why. Hawk Moth yeasted him to the Eiffel Tower and says that they can save his mother with his and Ladybug's Miraculous. Ladybug shows up and reminds Cat Noir that every wish has a price to pay, though Hawk Moth claims that Ladybug would let him save his mother if she truly loved him.
Torn between his mother and the girl he loves, Cat Noir shouts at them pleading for them to stop. Seeing the chance as his son has cracked, Hawk Moth sends an akuma towards him. It infects his bell and Hawk Moth akumatizes him into Cat Blanc with the power of infinite destruction. However, the akumatized teen is conflicted between using his powers on either Ladybug or Hawk Moth and ends up accidentally destroying all of Paris and even the moon. Bunnyx pleads with Ladybug to end the nightmare.
The black and red themed heroine furiously asks Cat Blanc what he did, though he claims that he didn't mean to. Angry that Ladybug won't give him her Miraculous and believing that she no longer loves him, he decides to just destroy everything, much to Ladybug and Bunnyx's horror. Ladybug frantically tells Cat Blanc that she'll give him her Miraculous, so he deactivates the mega Cataclysm he'd made. He tells her that he's Cat Blanc, not Cat Noir, but Ladybug declares that he will always be the latter to her, and then acts like she is going to kiss him. She grabbed the bell on his collar and broke it. The akumatized butterfly flew out and she took out her yo-yo. "Time to de-evilize Cat Noir." She replied before the butterfly was caught inside and she closed it. "Gotcha." She smirked to herself. She opened it back up and saw it was back to normal. Cat changed back to his regular attire. She hugged him, not wanting to let go. "I'm so sorry." She kissed him and then slowly pulled away from him before she left through the borrow that appeared.
"Bring me back in time 10 minutes before you got me. I think I know how it happened." She replied, quick.
"He will not be able to remember any of this." Bunnyx told her.
"It's for the best." She said before getting sent back to Adrien's room and pushed the other ladybug out of the way before erasing her name. She went up to the Eiffel Tower and looked out into the distance after she threw the eraser in the air and yelled, "Miraculous Ladybug." Everything was fixed, so she went back to thinking about everything as she tiredly moving her left leg back and forth while her other one had her arm resting against her knee.
"M'lady, you okay?" Cat asked, sitting next to her 10 minutes later. Marinette had enough time to transform back, give Tikki some food to recharge and turn back into her alter ego persona. Still feeling guilt and worried, she jumped back and almost screamed.
"Oh, it's you." She left go of the breath she didn't know was being held. She nodded. "Just thinking."
"Anything in purrticular?" He asked, curious and worried, always using puns and cat jokes.
"Just how lucky I am to have you by my side." She held his hand, perfectly content. "Everything is taken care of." She knew it would probably encourage him to keep flirting with her, but she just wanted to relax and try clearing her head. Knowing that her partner next to her would have gotten akumatized somehow because of her was making her feel like crying. She didn't want to in front of him though because he would ask questions and it wasn't the right time to tell him.
"I don't know what that means, but I'm fine with it." She laid her head on his shoulder, happy that she was able to help.
Cat was surprised she was actually holding his hand since she's always rejected him in the past. He put his hand on top of hers and saw that her eyes were closed.
He smiled at her. "What a day." She replied, tired, but didn't want to leave just yet. They sat in silence with her head on his shoulder. "I'll see you soon, M'Lady." He replied about half an hour later before he jumped from roof to roof. She shook her head, still having his akumatized alter ego terrifying her stay in her mind.
Later that night, she went to sleep. It wasn't easy because she had nightmares about Cat Blanc and it scared her. She dreamed that he ended up destroying himself, her and their memories just like he said he would a few hours before. She just couldn't stay still and she was sweating while crying in her sleep. She woke up deciding to stay awake since she was tossing and turning around so much. Tikki asked if she was okay as the kwami woke up in a little bed the teen made for her. Marinette went to take a shower, but stayed in there longer than usual since she started crying as well. When she walked back out of the bathroom in a different set of clothes, she checked her phone and saw it was almost midnight. She went up to the balcony and leaned against the railing as she felt the wind blow in her face. I can't keep hurting him, but I can't tell him the truth either, she thought as she remembered what Cat Blanc said to her in the alternate timeline. Her thoughts were a broken record, repeating the same things over and over again like a never ending cycle. It was our love that did this to the world, M'lady. It's already broken. Now you're breaking more than my heart. I'd like to erase the past too...what I would wish for is us to be in love again. She hated seeing her partner like that since she never thought that's what would have happened if they started dating, but she remembered most of it and while she believed there wasn't anything else to figure out because she thought she saw everything, she couldn't be more wrong. All the more reason to distance herself from him since Hawkmoth can never find out who they are.
