He knew what it was. He knew the definition. He just didn't think he would ever be one to experience it.
The thought left a bitter taste in his mouth. Though, that might just be from the mixture of blood and dirt that had covered his body. He's been here for who knows how long, he's stopped counting a long time ago.
"Open your eyes." He hears the gruff voice murmur from behind him.
Reid's eyes flutter open, darting from side to side searching for the source of the voice.
His fear is quickly put to rest when he sees a soft expression across his captors face.
Tobias.
"Here." The man knelt down and raised a wooden bowl to the younger mans mouth. The feeling of the cool water sliding down Reid's throat gave him relief. He felt the water wash away the subtle traces of dust and dirt in his chest.
"Thank you." Reid manages to murmur.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry I can't stop him." The other man sobs. Reid feels that feeling again. The feeling of wanting to wipe away the tears across his captors face. To press his lips against his salty cheek. To promise him that it wasn't his fault.
Reid felt stupid.
Tobias took back the bowl and carefully placed in on top of a counter across the room before slowly shuffling back to sit in front of Reid. He hadn't muttered a word, but instead, slowly placed his hand on top of Reid's left knee.
Reid felt a wave of emotions going through him that he did not want, one in particular being those nasty butterflies.
Tobias softly looked into Reid's eyes as if he were pleading him to never leave his side.
"He did this to me too."
"I know." Reid wished one of his hands were free so he could place it atop Tobias'.
Tobias never took his eyes off of Reid, slowly taking his hand off of his knee. He quickly glanced at Reid's lips, hoping to go unnoticed.
Reid noticed.
Tobias slowly moved forward before he pressed his lips sloppily against Reid's, reassuring him, he never wanted any of this.
Reid felt the tears stain his cheeks as he gave into the soft kiss before Tobias pulled backwards.
The moment was gone before he knew it, because within the next few moments Tobias was reaching for his fix and everything after that was a blur.
