Chapter 1: Starting Anew
Author's Note: Heya everyone! New story because a friend managed to convince me to try out this story in the first place. A Pokémon one as you can tell and well this is going to be an interesting journey if I must be honest. If you haven't read the summary there will be Pokemorphs (Anthro Pokémon) and harem elements in this story. I know those sort of things you probably saw already on this site, but I wanted to try my hand at it while actually telling a story. You wouldn't believe the refinement I had to do for this idea in order to work and not get ridiculous. Cutting down the harem size, choosing which Pokémon are going to show up and of course how I am going to develop them as characters. Yes the harem aspect is one guy and multiple girls, but how many is undecided as of now. As for the setting, this is going to take place in a mix of the Diamond/Pearl and Platinum universes in the games. Jack, the main character is basically Lucas the male trainer in the games. Which is just how I named him in the games when I played it. Other notable characters will have their default name though.
Anyways, i hope you enjoy the chapter and will enjoy the story as it comes along, this is TheFoolOfTheNoon signing off!

("Do you remember? The day we met?")
("Yeah…I do, man that was ten years ago…")
Route 203, I remember that branch in my journey. Back then I was just starting out as a trainer with aspirations of becoming a Pokémon champion of the Sinnoh region. I was only 13 years old when I began my journey. My first Pokémon was Chimchar from Professor Rowan's suitcase, I had to use him to defend myself from a wild Pokémon. I ended up keeping him because the kind professor believed we can be a great team. He was not wrong; Cinder was an invaluable teammate for a newbie trainer like me.
("Um…master I think you are going off topic here.")
("Oh sorry, ten years is a long time so I couldn't help but think back.")
("Hehehe, its fine, please try to focus though.")
Focusing onto route 203, right its coming together. Me and my small team of three just composed of my starter, a Starly named Peck, and a Bidof named Rover. After facing Barry and the trainers in the area we were just wandering around when we stumble upon…you. A Ralts, hurt and afraid. You were scared, I been told its dangerous to try and help an injured Pokémon at the risk they may attack. However, a part of me still wanted to help you in some way. Probably my most dumb move I dropped my bag and removed my shirt to show you that I did not have anything on me. I tried to comfort you too so you can trust me enough to help you. You were a such a small Pokémon. I did my best and took you in, not catching you though. Doubled back to Jubilife City for actual proper care at a Pokémon center.
("I was forever grateful for your kindness. Honestly, I was young at the time, so I did find your gestures to put me at ease amusing. I became your Pokémon out of my own free will after that because I felt like I could trust you with my safety. I did not expect the crazy adventure we would have though.")
("Yeah, in addition to gym battles there was the whole Team Galactic fiasco. Never in my life did I think I would be facing down the eyes of the legendary Pokemon of Sinnoh. Much less go against Giratina itself. I would be lying if I said I was not scared, I was terrified. But with my team, including you I was able to keep going and defeat Giratina and stop Cyrus.")
("Then we went on our way to the Pokemon League, and you became champion!")
("For ten years…I was a champion for ten years. Wow…I forgot I got put into the history books for that. Heh, that last battle was a doozy but strangely I felt a new sense of freedom once I lost my title.")
("But you looked lost for a time, like you needed something to do in your life.")
("Right…I spent so much time being champion I never really thought about what I'll do with my life. I believe at some point I wanted to become a Pokemon Professor myself, thankfully Professor Rowan was more than happy to teach me. It was quite a surprise to see a former champion of three years become an assistant to a well-known researcher of Pokemon evolution.")
("It sure is, but you did look happier though master. Even though he had you running ragged hehe, he really wanted to see if you were committed!")
("Yeah, it was tough, but good work. I learned a lot, heh, that man still got energy to travel around.")
("Which is why he entrusted you with his lab on one of his trips. That reminds me master, you should probably wake up. It's ten-o-clock in the morning!")
That is what it took for me to wake up as I opened my eyes and nearly jumped out of bed. Well almost, Aurora, my loyal Gardevoir who was talking to me in my sleep used her psychic powers to keep me down. I looked over to see her giving me a cute smile from my bedside as she released me.
("Breakfast is ready for you downstairs, so please get dressed before it gets cold. I made it myself!")
She walked out of the room and I got ready for the day. Aurora has been more or less acting as my own assistant when I was given responsibility to watch over the lab. He still had assistants here but for right now its just me and Dawn who of which is my senior. She had her moments of patronizing me or having a little fun with me because of my former champion status. She is like the sister I never had, so there has been some fun back and forths. I put on my assistant clothes and headed downstairs in my new house in Sandgem Town. Reasonable living arrangements really, most of the living quarters and kitchen is on the ground floor while my sleep space is upstairs.
Heh, most of my Pokémon are at the lab just milling about and going about their business. I sometimes go join them in the field just to play with them for old times' sake. Though some like Aurora decided they wanted to be my roommates in my new home. Cinder, Dinger's the Bronzong and Chippers my male Chadot. Having a fire type in one's home is generally a bad idea but so far, he had not burned the house down yet. Actually according to Aurora it was Cinder's idea to bring Dinger's and Chippers as back up alarms in case I don't wake up from bed.
That monkey loves to make sure I get going. Heh, well my starter is a bro to me, so I make sure to show him the same courtesy. Anyways, I ate the breakfast Aurora made for me, a simple combo platter of pancakes, scrambled eggs and sausages. She insisted on wanting to feed me, but I turned her down as I wanted to get to work on time. A good meal, full stomach, and eventually a clean mouth and I was off towards the lab. Aurora gave me a wave goodbye as I left to which I happily returned the gesture.
/
Entering the lab, I was greeted by Dawn who swung around on the rotating office chair with the most mischievous smile on her face, "Heya Jack, nice of you to join me this morning. How's the wife?"
"Tch, you are never going to let that go, are you?"
She smirked as she shrugged, "Come on you have to admit your Gardevoir is basically your wife at this point. She takes care of the house, cooks for you, does your laundry and is usually waiting for you when you head home."
"We're just close partners, I mean she is one of my stronger members in my team back in the day."
"Right right, I haven't forgot Mr. ex-champion. Anyway, onto business, I got an important call from Professor Rowan the other day."
"Really? What is it? Did he find something?"
"Sort of, apparently during his travel to the Unova region he discovered some interesting stories of human and Pokémon relations."
"You mean other than just friends, partners, or pets?"
She nodded her head as she opened a file on the computer and shown a series of images that was sent to her. Showing pages from a book that has writing and imagery of humans and Pokémon in romantic relationships. What was interesting though is the image of a quadruped Pokémon changing into a more humanoid form in the following picture. I looked at it with confusion as it is a strange find for sure.
"Normally the professor would have just wrote this off as just legends or stories, but he brought it to our attention because Sinnoh has a similar legend of humans and Pokémon developing such relationships."
"Right the one at Canalave city right? I remember reading that when I was over there. I always found it weird in hindsight as it seems to talk about all types of Pokémon. Not just the humanoid looking ones."
"Yeah but look at these images and the text. It talks about how Pokémon have more than one form. More than 'the form of a beast' as it says, as something special happens should a human and Pokémon fall truly for one another. By the looks of it the Pokémon turns into a form that best suited for their human lover. As weird as that sounds."
"I agree, sounds more like a Pokemanic's wet dream if you ask me."
"I know right? Its just a legend, at least I think so. Still, it didn't stop the professor from developing an interest in it. I mean it's up his alley after all, a type of Pokémon evolution that could have taken place long forgotten in history and turned into a legend?"
"Kinda hogwash to me, but Rowan is a man to not let up a lead. So, what does he want us to do?"
"Well, he wants us to dig more into the legend here in Sinnoh, so by that logic we are going to have to hit the books on this one again."
"Alrighty then, looks like another trip to Canalave city. I will see what I can find from over there at the library. Maybe you can check the internet for some other information on the matter."
"I feel like I'll regret it but its better than doing nothing. Go get what you need and head out, report back if you find any new information we can work with."
"Will do, I just need to get my flying taxi."
"You know they actually turn that into a business in the Galar Region?"
"Yes, and probably more of a reason why need to get a similar service over here."
She smirked as she rolled her eyes as she got to work. As for me I got outside to the ranch area where we keep some of our Pokémon. I shouted out the name of Peck who answered my call and swooped in. The little Starly now a large predator bird Pokémon Staraptor. He gave me a few rubs with his head before giving out a few caws.
"Heyah buddy, still looking strong. I need to your help getting to Canalave city, so is it okay I borrow you for a bit?"
He happily cawed, I would assume because of the chance to spend time with me again since it's been a while since I took him out anywhere. I smiled as I took out his Pokéball to show I still have and got ready to ask him to fly me to the city until I was interrupted mentally by Aurora's shouting.
("Master! Master Jack! Sorry for intruding in on your workday but I made you a lunch box!") She presented a square box that had the motif of a poke ball.
"Oh thanks Aurora! I am surprised you made one so fast, this is going to be helpful since I am going…out of town," I felt the neurons in my brain build a connection as I realized the convenience of the timing, "Uh…Aurora, be honest with me but were you spying on me in Dawn in the office?"
("Eep! Um…y-yes…sorry master! I-I actually had nothing else to do at home so I just popped into your mind and heard what you would be doing. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have invaded your personal space without your consent. I can just set this down and go home…")
"Aurora wait!" She stopped in place from my voice, "I'm not mad but are you bored at home?"
("Bored? Oh no I'm not bored but I am running out of things around the house. I have so much free time these days so um…maybe I do need something to do.")
I soften my expression as I walked over to her and gave her a warm hug, "This may be sudden, but would you like to join me in my work? I know it could be a bit boring but maybe the change of pace from home would do you good."
I watched her eyes light up as she made some excited human-like noises as she embraced me. Her horn like crest digging into my chest and contrary to popular belief, the horns are dull, so no trainers are not in danger of being stabbed by their Gardevoir. Lucario's on the other hand is pretty much as you expect. Beware their iron spikes that I have read up caused a couple of incidents. Anyway, I am going off topic here. The close contact has our heartbeats practically in synch with each other as I felt her nuzzle me. I was starting to get embarrassed by this open display of affection and from the corner of my eye I could see Dawn with a sly smile on her face snickering to herself.
I rolled my eyes as I patted Aurora's head as she broke away from the hug. She was flushing red, no doubt just realizing what she did. I just flashed her a smile as I brought her to Peck who seemed more than happy to see her. Thankfully, Peck was quite big for his species, so he was both strong enough and big enough to carry us both. I did not bother asking Aurora to put her into her ball as I knew she would rather stick out in the open with me. Holding onto me tightly as we took off into the air and straight to the city.
/
In less than ten minutes we landed in front of the Pokémon Center in Canalave City. I recalled Peck into his poke ball and was about to turn my way to head into the direction of the library. Only for me to hear Aurora shout watch out and used barrier in front of me, very quickly I found out why when I heard a vibrating 'dung' noise that would be caused by a human body. Shortly after that the familiar complaining came out to play.
"Heya Barry, still not paying attention where you are running?"
"Jack! Nice to see yah man, by the way I am fining you for making me run into a psychic wall!"
I held up my hands, "To be fair you were going to run into me anyway, and still fine me. Aurora just acted in my defense."
"Yeah yeah, so what have you been up to champ? Well former champ but considering your record as champion you are still the champ to me pal."
"Nothing much, just going to the library to do research on Pokémon and Human relationships. Professor Rowan found some similar legends to what we have here in Sinnoh and apparently there is some sort of evolution that was seen in the legend. Now what took got his interest is that this legend has shown up in the Unova region."
"A new evolution huh? Do you know what it is?"
"There isn't a name, but it sounds ridiculous in context. Apparently, it turns a Pokémon into an anthro being if their relationship with a human is true love."
Barry's face turns deadpan as he heard this. Not that I blame him it's still pretty ridiculous, "That sounds like a Pokemanic's wet dream."
"That's what I said! But the Professor isn't one for ridiculous legends without evidence. I'm here to dig up more information about the legends to see if there are more correlations with it."
"Well now, I wouldn't say it's the worst thing to do with your time. Any way's I am in a rush to do something so sorry I can't catch up right now. Maybe next time when we meet, cya!" Barry and I shared a high five as the energetic man ran past me.
As for me and Aurora, we went on our way to the library and began our searching for Sinnoh legends that relate to what we are looking for. Thankfully, the legends section is sizable and the original book where I found the original legend all those years ago is still there. Back then I didn't really give it a deep read but now since its my job I gave it a more thorough examination. The little folk tale said the same as much as it did before just as the other stories. Just why though?
"It was a time when there existed no difference between the two…" The last line in the short tale makes me think back to the images I seen. Another interesting detail is another folk story mentions a Pokémon shedding their form to sleep as human and donning it back to roam villages as a Pokémon. While I don't have to take it literally as its just a story, but there is a kernel of truth to a story. A fact behind these tales that is hidden away.
("Master, this book looks interesting,") I turned around to find Aurora holding a large book of Sinnoh folktales, ("I found some romance stories in here that could relate to what you are looking for. Some are pretty tragic but have a good message.")
"Thanks Aurora, it's weird to think about it but these allusions to the bonds of Pokémon of humans runs deeper than I would have known. The folk tales I read in the past says that our connection is like we are one and the same. Even though in some cases we eaten Pokémon for sustenance as according to the first short tale, but the body is treated with respect."
("Fascinating, but these are just tales, right? Most of it is fiction, yes?")
"I would like to think that, but our ancestors aren't the types to write things down without meaning. I mean just take the legendries for example, the descriptions they had for them are almost on the mark."
("True, hmm…then maybe…") Aurora walked off for a bit and began looking at different books at the same shelf.
As for me, Aurora was not wrong about the romance stories she found. Some are tales a Pokémon becoming human, and others is a Pokémon taking an alternative form in an attempt to be with a human lover. There was even one tale where the said Pokémon in question was described to be seal-like which in this day and age I know could be referring to a Dewgong and or a Primarina. Wait…neither Pokémon are native to Sinnoh, so how could they have seen such types of Pokémon? Hmm…the rabbit hole goes deeper.
We spent a few hours looking through more books, more stories and all of them seem to hold that vagueness of truth behind the tales and legends. However, the bodily need to eat took over and cannot be ignored. So, we took a lunch break, exiting the library and finding a nice spot to sit down. Aurora looked proud of herself as she took out the lunch box which felt warm to the touch. I can practically feel myself salivating at the thought of digging into a good meal.
("Hehe, look at you all ready to dig in master! I think you will like what I cooked up for you this time! I looked up recipes and I think this dish from Galar would suit your tastes.")
I waited with bated breath as Aurora slowly opened the lunch box and already a mouth-watering aroma of cooked meat and seasoning invaded my nostrils. In front of me is a strange new meal that I recognize having burger meat sitting pretty on top drizzled with whatever juices from the rest of the dish.
"Holy sweet Arceus… that looks so good!"
("Oh, I am so glad! It is a Spicy Burger-Steak Curry! I had to premade some of it yesterday, so it isn't completely fresh, but I think it came out well! I mean I did test it.")
"Well then, I'm starved. Let us dig in! Um…where's the utensil?"
("Mhm, hehe you mean this one?") She pulled out a spoon, I looked at her with eyes of realization.
"No…you didn't, did you plan this out?"
("Not really, but I thought I should now that I have the chance. Now open wide master before it gets cold,") She scooped up some of the curry and blew on it before presenting it to me. He cute smile made it hard to turn it down, and I was still hungry. I let out a sigh and bite the bullet figuratively and literally.
A powerful mix of flavors entered my mouth as my tastebuds went to heaven. I could not help but physically express my enjoyment of the food. Earning a delighted sound from Aurora as she got another spoonful ready for me. Ignoring some looks the locals are giving us, mainly ones of amusement she kept feeding me until we finished half of the meal. I was decently filled, and I could take more but then I heard my partner's stomach growl.
("Oh! Looks like I am growing peckish myself master, hehe. This is embarrassing.")
"Then why don't you eat some of the food then? It's only right that we share," I said as I snatched the spoon from her hand and scooped up some of the curry. She was taken a back and I can see her blushing furiously as I presented the food to her.
("M-Master?! Uh uh…you want to feed me?")
"Hey, you fed me, only fair that I get to do the same."
I gave a smirk as she lost her composure, and I can practically see steam coming from her head. She could not even use telepathy correctly because of her flustered state. I chuckled a bit as I found my opening and gently put the spoon in her mouth. No doubt the sudden presence of food brought her to her senses. I watched as she took the spoonful and she held her cheeks in enjoyment as she chewed and swallowed the food. She expressed her enjoyment as I fed her more of the meal until nothing was left. Her satisfied expression told me everything I needed to know as I put the spoon into the lunch box and closed it up. We shared some small talk as I put away the lunchbox into the bag. I was about ready to head back into the library until I heard a new voice in my head.
("Well now…what have you been looking into Jack?")
"Huh? Uh…whose there?" Aurora sensed another presence and so did I as we looked around but didn't see anybody.
("Geez, here I thought being a champion made you more perceptive,") Suddenly an ethereal form flew up in front of me and surprised me.
"Whoa! Wait I recognize you, your Mesprit! I have not seen you after the whole Team Galactic fiasco back when I was just a teenager. I assumed that you just went back to sleep back at the lake."
The floating form of the legendary Pokémon was a bit hard to see but I can make out their form, ("Well dummy, I kinda am as I am talking to you in spirit. Anyways long time no see, well for you as for me and the other lake guardians we been keeping an eye on you. Well two of us, Uxie would rather not open their eyes for obvious reasons.")
"Wait what? Why would you three be keeping an eye on me, also how much did you see?"
("Wouldn't you like to know? Hehe, in all seriousness Arceus himself told us to do it. I mean come on you fought Giratina and survived! Not to mention fought Dialga and Palkia as well. So, if anything that should have earned some brownie points from the man in charge. Hehe well probably that would be an understatement.")
"Not to be rude but can you get to the point?"
("Right right, here is the thing. The great one above us told me you were up to some information hunting. Something that hasn't been known for many years and there is a reason for that, its forbidden knowledge. The legends and folktales were from before your time when this was allowed. Because…oop! Nearly spilled the beans on that one, hehe. Anyways, if its proof and evidence you are looking for this mystery your professor then there is a place you can go to. If you remember the cave in Celestic Town, I suggest you go there. Me and the others will be waiting for you there.")
"Oh man…the rabbit hole deepens, doesn't it? Well, if it can get to the bottom of this matter, I'll do it."
("Atta boy, trust me, I wouldn't be doing this if the big man didn't approve of it. Well see you then! Tata!")
Quickly as she came, Mesprit just flew away into nothingness. I took a deep breathe and this was a certainly unexpected but welcome turn of events. Of course, if any person around this land that would know more about the facts would be the Pokémon of the land. I was about to bring out Peck until I got a call on my phone. Just a normal pokephone, not a Rotom phone that people have these days. Modern invention attracts the younger generation after all. I answered the phone by flipping it open, its Dawn I wonder what she has to say?
"Hello? What you need Dawn?"
"Heya Jack just calling in to check up on yah. How's the investigation?"
"Could been better, found more details in the folktales but the best I can do is make personal notes and observations. All I could gather is that two of the folktales relating to humans and Pokémon being one and the same. There is even some romance stories Aurora found that relate to these themes."
"Interesting, not really anything solid though. Stories are nice but we need some solid evidence."
"Agreed, so imagine my surprise when I got a new lead from none other than Mesprit!"
I heard an audible gasp from the other side of the phone, "No way! What did they tell you?"
"Well, she, told me that she knows something about Sinnoh folklore. Apparently, its forbidden knowledge but would not elaborate why though. She told me because of my role in the past for defeating Giratina, Palkia and Dialga, so that's why I am given a chance to learn this knowledge."
"Lucky! Though you are dealing with legendary Pokémon here, so I recommend you be careful. You never know what could happen. Where are you meeting her, so I know where you are gonna be."
"Celestic Town she said, apparently the other lake guardians will be there too. I just wonder what they are going to tell me though."
"Got it, make sure you look presentable. Got to make a good impression, right?"
"Right, call you later once everything is settled."
Dawn gave an alright before hanging up, the entire call Aurora was listening carefully with her own face of intrigue. She had her own concerns, but I figured if the legendaries wanted to do me harm then they would have done it already. I called out Peck and asked him to fly us to Celestic Town and I also promised him some food and water for his troubles, plus some exercise out of his ball. He smiled at this as he whisked me and Aurora all the way to our new destination.
/
We landed into the small town after about 50 minutes of flight travel. Nothing seemed to be out of the ordinary at first, but I noticed the area was strangely vacant. Not a single soul was outside and about. Not even in response to my landing. I raised a brow at the eerie silence as Aurora stood on guard and Peck began checking the homes from the outside. He came back to me a made some concerned bird noises. Looking into one of the houses I saw the inhabitants inside were sitting crossed legged in a trance. I calmed Peck down and brought some his food and water. Giving him the order to stay on guard and do not do anything risky, the bird Pokémon saluted me and went to feed.
I looked towards the cave in the center of town, no doubt the lake guardians are waiting for me there. I looked over to Aurora and we nodded to each other as we headed into the cave. The dark cavern was lit in an unearthly glow, an unearthly power that was not felt before on a previous visit. I look to the image on the wall and noticed that it was emitting a power.
("Heh nice to see you can make it. I knew we didn't have to wait long,") Mesprit flown into view, not in spirit but physical body. I felt two more presences fly in and looking around me I see none other than Azelf and Uxie.
("Good of you to join us human, I assume Mesprit already give you an idea why invited you here,") The willpower Pokémon looked at me with eyes that expects no jokes.
"Yeah, the knowledge relating the relationship between human and Pokémon. Where it was said that there was a point where the two were one and the same."
("Heh, well there is truth to that statement in Sinnoh's folklore,") Uxie smiled as they crossed their arms, ("But as mentioned before it is forbidden knowledge and I'll let you know why.")
The knowledge Pokémon exercised their psychic power to show a visual slideshow from their own memories. What I saw surprised me as I saw what looked to be anthro Pokémon walking alongside human beings. Male and female forms, some wearing clothes like humans and even some having families. Even Pokémon that originally are quadrupeds had humanoid forms. It was unbelievable! However, quickly as the peaceful images were seen. Eventually were replaced by images of debauchery. Pokémon and Human alike exploiting each other for gain in the shadows. Sex rings, kidnappings, assaults, etc. It was then I began to understand why I don't see it around anymore. It was abused and like that the privilege for Pokémon and Humans to be one and the same was taken away.
"Just…damn…that's going to need time to take in."
("It's quite alright, take your time.")
I took the moment to relax my mind and after throwing my thoughts around things began clicking into place again, "Okay I'm good and I assume what happened at the end there is the reason why nobody knows about this anymore."
("You catch on Jack. Indeed, the abuse from both sides broke Arceus's heart and as a result he sent us to remove the emotional attachments and knowledge of this kind of bond from the minds of both species. To humans, it was just nothing more than a dream that they turned into folktales. Eventually the balance was restored and the relationship between humans and Pokémon was more manageable,") Uxie then pointed to their closed eyes, implying what I assumed is true.
"I see, still Professor Rowan found traces of the same thing in another region. Just what is it exactly with those humanoid Pokémon? Does it have a name?"
Mesprit giggled before using her turn to speak, ("Well what you saw are called Pokemorphs. They are an alternative form Pokémon can achieve if their relationship with a human being is romantic and pure, but you knew that already. What you don't know is that we never took away this ability from Pokémon it can still manifest. As for why a human being is needed for this form to manifest in the first place though. Well…consider it a gift from Arceus himself as there is a tether within all humans that allows to share humanoid traits. Kinda like an evolution stone. As to why traces of this can be found elsewhere is simple, this isn't a Sinnoh region exclusive phenomena.")
"That's amazing, but wait what would happen if a human and Pokémon would stumble upon this?"
("Oh, that's an easy one, we track them down and erased that knowledge and emotions. We do not want it leaking out! At least that is how it was for a long time, but…Azelf would you mind?")
("Right, normally we would be against you digging up proof that this actually existed. However, Arceus himself decided that maybe it was time to give it a second chance. Still, he wants to be careful with this and does not want a repeat what happened in the past. Which is why we brought you here today. You, Jack, former Pokémon champion of this region and defender of the land from disaster. By degree of Arceus you are given permission by him to learn this forbidden knowledge and even practice it. However, know this comes with a great responsibility. You must prove that humanity and Pokémon kind is ready to relearn such knowledge and not repeat the same mistakes. Do you accept this mission?")
I looked to Aurora who looked to still be trying to comprehend the entire thing. As for me, well I did not come out here for nothing, "I accept, for the betterment of everyone!"
("Then it is done, Uxie give him a blessing to help him on his journey. The ability to understand Pokémon speech.")
Uxie nodded as they floated up to me and placed a hand on my head as their tails pointed to different parts of my temple. It was quite nerve racking, ("This may hurt a little bit.")
Before I could say anything a tinge of psychic energy coursed through my brain. Like a tiny needle poking into the depths of my brain and touching the neurons within it. It was a sensory experience to be sure as I felt my senses go wild in the moment the legendary Pokémon poked me. There was pain but it was not bad as Uxie backed off with a smile.
"Whoa…that was something."
"Indeed, now you can understand us," Uxie spoke with their own voice and uncharacteristic glee. As if they been wanting to do that for years.
"Oh wow! Yeah I can! Aurora! Say something to me without telepathy!"
Her eyes widen a bit at my command, but she tried it anyway, "Umm…you are a wonderful master?"
"I can understand you! I never felt this excited since I first started my Pokémon journey!"
The three legendaries shared some laughter among themselves at my reaction to the gift. Of course, we had to handle business first, "We are glad you find this gift exciting, still we must give details about your quest. To prove that humanity and Pokémon kind is ready, you must show documented proof from ten humans in your world, and they maintain it without falling into vices within a month. Also, you yourself must form romantic relationships with a Pokémon. We know this sounds forced but you yourself must experience a such love in order to solidify your standing when talking to others about it. We care not how many partners but they all must be genuinely loved."
I nearly face planted at the final detail of the quest, "What!? This is kinda of sudden to be asking me to do such a thing?"
Mesprit giggled, "Oh don't be such a baby about it, we seen your love life. Trust us, you probably have better luck with pokewomen."
My jaw dropped at that comment as I felt like my personal pride was just attacked, "Thanks for the lowkey insult, anyway what's the due date for this quest? I am pretty sure something like this I have to report on."
"And you will be correct! You got within a year's time to find and document ten successful Pokémon human relationships and make sure they stay genuine. We will check on you monthly for progress. Until then you better get on it Champion of Sinnoh!"
All three Pokémon gave a quick wave and good luck on my journey as they all teleported out of the cave. Aurora and I looked at each other as we now have a huge responsibility on our shoulders. We did not say anything and just mutually agreed that we should head home. A new journey is awaiting us and well we need to be ready.
Also, I needed time to digest that three legendary Pokémon made getting a girlfriend a mandatory part of my quest. What has my life come to?
