Disappearance
A/N: this is a fanfic based on a new series I've recently gotten into called Manifest, but anyway I don't own the Thunderbirds all rights go to the creators Gerry & Sylvia Anderson.
Alan pov
There's no way of knowing that your last good day is Your Last good day. At the time, it is just another good day.
If I had known what would come next I would have told my dad and my brother how much I loved them.
But I didn't know, I didn't know the tragedy that would befall me.
The last normal day I had was just a typical day at a boarding school.
14th October 2004
"Early philosophers such as Socrates and Aristotle wrote and made theories regarding the human brain although Aristotle also believed that the heart played a crucial role in human intelligence." I try to drown out Mr Jackson bland voice.
It seemed like this class has been going on for Hours.
Just as I felt my eyes slowly shutting the shrill of the Bell bolted me wide awake.
BRING!!!!
Finally.
I jump up out of my seat, eager to get out of the stuffy classroom.
Science was my last class for the day.
"Alan, wait up!" I hear the victor of my best friend Fermat call from behind me.
However to do not falter in my quest to vacate the classroom.
I only slow down once I come to the campus grass area.
Fermat catches up to me.
He's panting.
I give him a sheepish grin.
"Sorry, Fermat."
"I...it...it's okay." He stutters out while panting.
I give Fermat a moment to catch his breath.
Once he's breathing normally again I gesture to the group of students making their way toward the mess hall.
"Common I hear there serving chilli dogs today."
We both join the group of boys heading towards the canteen, I can already smell the chilli, my mouth salivates just thinking of those steaming chilli dogs.
Once we get our food we find a secluded bench and dig into our evening meal.
I bite down.
Mmmm
Noting better.
I all but devour my chilli dog Fermat is just as Eager.
Dinner is a Very quiet affair and soon we are heading back towards our dorm.
Soon as we're back inside the safety of our room I let out the biggest belch ever
I flop down on my bed and rest my head in my sheets.
Before I get comfy the hear a buzzing coming from my side table, my laptop had a notification on the screen someone was trying to contact me.
I look at the username, it was my dad.
I grab the laptop and lay it on my stomach them I press the accept button.
My dad's face fills the screen.
"Alan."
"Hey, dad."
"How was your day."
"You know same as every other day, I'm looking forward to the family day it will be cool to see you guys."
My dad loses his smile, a look of remorsefulness covers his face.
My heart sinks, I know that look.
"I'm afraid we're not gonna make it this time alan."
I'm filled with disillusion. of course, they wouldn't.
They hadn't been able to make it to the other ones why would this be any different.
"Okay." I give a short answer.
"You know if we could, we would come but with thunderbird 5 still in repairs we are focused on getting new parts ordered and sent up, in-fact I and your brothers are on our way to Germany right now to pick up more parts."
It's then I notice that dad is sat in a busy airport terminal.
"Dad why aren't you taking Tracy1."
Why would any of my family need to travel by plane when we have our private jet.
"She's having her routinely maintenance done."
Oh okay.
"So you flying commercial."
"Sure am."
Dad looks to the left at something or someone.
He then turns to me.
"There are some people who want to say hi."
He passes the laptop over.
Suddenly the faces of my 4 brothers sill the screen.
"Hey sprout," Gordon speaks.
"Hey, guys."
"So caused any trouble as of lately," John asks in a cheeky tone.
"No, been good as gold."
Scott lets out a bark of laughter.
"Somehow I doubt that."
My other brothers join in.
"Alan you are a danger magnet," Virgil adds on
"Ain't that true."
"Yh, Alan remember when you blew up your old schools science lab." Garden jabs.
I roll my eyes.
"Okay, you made your point." I cut them off sharper than I should of.
They stop laughing.
"Come on Allie, we're just poking fun at you." Virgil calmly speaks.
"Whatever."
Dads face joins the boys.
"Okay let's end this for now our flight is being called, Alan we shall call you once we land in Istanbul okay."
"Okay."
"See ya."
I end the call and the screen goes dark.
I just let out a sigh and lay back on my bed.
I never did get that call.
That night was unable to sleep, I kept tossing and turning, I felt like I was going to be sick.
The next day I would be awoken by the matron of my dormitory.
He would bring me and Fermat to the principal's office, there stood Fermat's father Brains.
His whole appearance looked haggard and worn, his eyes were glossy and red as if he had just been crying.
I don't remember much of the conversation but one sentence will be stuck in my head for a long time.
"Alan Your father and Brothers plane has been reported missing, authorities believe it went down somewhere over the Atlantic."
I feel numb, I don't speak, I don't Respond, Fermat is crying next to me.
Brains and the principal are speaking but I don't may them any mind.
I don't pay anyone any mind.
I'm completely numb inside.
I don't respond when brains take me and Fermat back to our room to pack up.
I don't respond when I'm greeted by a distraught Tin-Tin, Onaha and Kyrano.
I don't respond when lady Penelope come to me with tears in her eyes and tells me she's been appointed as my legal guardian.
I don't respond when we get to England and Parker helps me unpack.
When I finally break down in tears we are at the funeral for my dads and brothers. 5 empty coffins are being lowered into the ground next to my mother.
Lady Penelope for once dressed in full black with not a hint of pink pulls me to her side, I bawl in her warm arms.
She holds me close.
She places a small kiss on my head.
She and Parker half carry, half walk me back to FAB1, Parker is shielding me from the paparazzi that have invaded the funeral of billionaire and national treasure Jeff Tracy and his 4 sons each of equal success.
No doubt fighting to get a picture of the grieving orphan and now the only heir to The multi-billion-dollar company Tracy Enterprises.
The next two weeks would be spent laying in bed not wanting to get up.
It would take some time but I finally do get back on my feet.
I Enroll in Homeschooling, I meet with my father's lawyers to discuss my inheritance, such as the island, the penthouse in New York, our farm in Kansas.
They will all belong to me, however, any inhabitants that were living there such as Kyrano and his family, as well as brains and Fermat, shall remain there as they like.
It was decided I would stay with Penelope until I was 18 and then I could choose what I wanted to do.
Lady Penelope made it clear, her house was my house and I could stay as long as I liked.
For the time being, I shut down international rescue, hopefully, I'm the future we can restart it, but for now, there is no way we could fully function.
Next, I meet with the COO and the CFO of Tracy enterprises both family friends.
We come to an agreement that they shall run the company until I reach the age of 27 which is when I will take my place as Chairman and CEO.
This gives me enough time to learn and grow before I'm given the responsibility of a major corporation.
One evening I was scourging Through lady Penelope library when I would come across a quote.
The reality is that you will grieve forever, you will not 'get over the loss of a loved one; you will learn to live with it.
You will heal and you will rebuild yourself around the loss you have suffered.
You will be whole again but you will never be the same, nor should you be the same, nor would you want to.
It was then I made a promise to myself and my father and brothers.
I will rebuild Myself, I will live my life, I will make my family proud.
I will rebuild.
