Soap xXx

"Coming Marls!" Lily called from the Gryffindor Common Room. "I'll be up soon but, sigh, I need to study!" The sweet music engulfed her; drawing her closer to the fire that roared with life.

I looked into his stormy eyes,
My heart broke once more.
For what I can't have
Is there once more.
Doesn't he ... kno-o-ow?
Can't he see-e-e-e-e me?
Let me dream ... let me
dream!

"Odd choice," she whispered, "stormy eyes. Only Sirius' eyes-" something broke upstairs and a yell came down, "you're not fond of that china cat, are you Lils?". She gulped and raced upstairs in a flash.

All day, Lily found herself singing that tune. She only realised when Professor McGonagall gave her a detention for disrupting the class. Fortunately for her, Sirius whispered very loudly -almost too loud for an actual whisper- that he was glad he wasn't caught singing as it sounded like a girl. The Professor ending up handing out the punishment to him, "Double detention as you let another student take blame, tsk tsk, Sirius,", so Lily was let off not exactly scot-free as her grey-eyed friend found the lyrics hilarious as it was so clearly about him.

"Let me dream!" Marlene imitated her. "Oooh, let me dreeeeaaam! What is it, Lils? Caught a case of the Stormy Eyes Sirius Disease?"

"Oh, Marlene mind if I borrow your meds? Yeah, we know! It's so obvious, Alice, isn't it?"

Throwing a pillow at Lily to shut her up, Marlene nodded, "Yes, he is hot," she paused as they went ooh and ahhhh at her statement, "alas I do not like him. My eye is on ... someone else."

Alice winked and tossed the pillow at Mary, "Suuuuure! We've seen the way you look at him! We know you lurve him really!"

"Oh, hell no. What would he do anyway? Shag me then move on? Sirius Black never dates," she put her hands on her hips, "I am so over him."

Mary snorted. Soon she was laughing hysterically at Marlene, or so they thought. "Doesn't. Go. On. Dates," she half-shouted through the giggles, "Sirius Black doesn't go on dates. Oh, pur-lease! We went on plenty of dates, romantic ones at that," she wiped her eyes and saw her friends staring at her, "What?"

"You dated Sirius?" Lily asked.

Alice wondered, "Romantic dates! Pigs can fly!"

"How'd he go out with you? He thinks I'm invisible. How do I get him to notice me?"

"See, Marls, I knew you liked him. Yes, they were romantic. Sirius can really date, such a gentleman!"

"Not true," Marlene whispered. "He's just- Not-datey."

Stormy eyes clashed with emerald,
The gem to all the secrets.
The answers to all the questions.
It fit together,
Slotted in place.
Let me ... know. Tell me ...
now.

There is was again! The song it sounded like Sirius and Lily were together. You wish, the emerald-eyed witch thought, biting her lip in worry. I mean he's kinda cute and ... Oh dear! I think I like him. Damn it! She sighed and tried to get some sleep.

It was the middle of the night and Lily was still awake; she was still concerned that she slightly fancied Sirius Black: the Idiot. "I mean he's not an idiot, it's just, well, he-"

"Lily?" a tired figure stumbled towards her. In the dark, she didn't know who it was.

"Yeah. And you are-?"

"It's me, you know."

"Marls, I know Marls."

"You're smart," they mumbled, rubbing sleep out of their eyes, "but I'm not Marlene."

"S- Sirius?" she guessed

"What? Oh, er, yeah, that's me, I guess."

Lily raised her eyebrow, "You guess?"

"I- I mean, yeah that's me!"

Her eyelashes fluttered and she patted down her hair, "Nice to see you, Sirius. Why are you awake?"

"I couldn't sleep, nothing really."

"Aw," Lily patted his arm awkwardly, "well you should get some sleep," she hugged him happily and turned to leave.

"Wait! No, sorry, go, bye Lils!"

He stood there amazed. Lily Evans, his love, had just hugged him. But Lils hated him. Come on, James, she thought you were Padfoot: that's why.

Living in your world,
Couldn't be better.
Loving like you do,
Tell me how you do it,
I need the ... secret,
I need the ... answers.
Say it and I'll stay,
You know where to find me,
With your stormy eyes.
