Chapter 1: Nightfall
Today was a normal day for Raisa Ironforge. She woke up in her small shack she had built by herself. Raisa had always been fascinated by the wild, and dreamed of living out there as a child. Luckily, she gained the abilities to fulfill her dream and lived a peaceful life as a hunter out in the woods. Once a week, Raisa had visited the nearby village, Brambleden. She got up from her bed and yawned, walking over to a nearby chest in the corner of the room. She opened it up and grabbed a few items. Her armor, made of leather and steel, her bow, quiver and arrows, and a few other tools along with some food. Opening the door she walked out and admired the view she could never get sick of. The sun was rising, painting the trees in gold as creatures and humans alike all across the world awakened. She smiled as she prepared herself for her small trip she was planning to make this week. Walking forwards, she thought of where she was going again. Her destination was the small city of Brambleden, famous for all of its plants that she grew up in. The trip was fairly easy, as she had made this journey multiple times since moving out of the city and could recognize how close she was due to all of the exotic flowers slowly appearing more frequently. After a few more minutes, she stood at the large stone gate. The guards always woke up the earliest to monitor the gates to make sure no intruders were breaking in. Once they saw Raisa, they shouted "Open the gates!" as the bars raised up into the wall. Walking into the bustling city, she looked around to see if the people she traded with were present today. Her eyes landed on the local blacksmith, Woodrow. Woodrow was a good friend of Raisa, they both had an interest in unique types of armor and weapons. She walked over, waving her hand.
"Hello Woodrow!" She shouted.
"Raisa, good to see you finally showed up here!" he replied. "Come to trade as usual? More animals, perhaps?"
"Yep!" She beamed. "So how's life been in the woods lately? Anything strange?" He asked. "Nope, been the same as it always has been. Now that you mention it, sometimes I hear faint screaming during the night." "You sure it isn't just some cow that tripped on a branch?" He joked as he laughed out loud. "Don't know, anyways, here's what I brought." She grabbed some animal meat and plants from out of her inventory. It was a normal routine for them, Raisa gave Woodrow plants and meat from the forest and he traded arrows and occasionally would repair her tools if she needed it. "Hm, you brought a good haul. Now I can save up instead of buying from that cheap butcher. Always rambling about how high quality his meat is." He went in the back and opened a chest and brought out a stack of arrows, with a special arrowtip that coiled around to fit Raisas special style of archery. Something she never explained to him though, all he knew was that she somehow twisted the arrow moments before she let go and it drilled through the air. He held the stack out and said "Here you go, your special arrows. Nobody understands how the hell you even use these so effectively." Raisa chuckled as she exchanged the items. "Just a little family secret, I'll be in the city for a while longer so expect to see me again." Going about her day, she went around and traded with the regulars. Giving the herbalists flowers from the forest, tailors leather and other materials, and decided to go and settle down beneath a tree. Her busy day caught up to her as she found herself drifting off to sleep.
She was awoken by a terrifying screech. She jumped awake, and looked around. It was unusually dark, as she heard screaming in the distance. She sprinted as fast as she could, finding the source. Citizens were darting past her, as she heard guards shouting commands. "GET BEHIND US!" "WHAT ARE THESE THINGS?" She instinctively put her hand to her bow and took it out. What she expected were a horde of zombies, but what she saw was much worse. It turned out the source of the screech was whatever was attacking. A large, levitating creature pitch black with ominous white eyes. It seemed to be wearing a cloak, and was flying around in groups terrorizing the people. The smaller ones were picking people up, and dragging them off while some were setting anything around them ablaze without hesitation. The larger ones seemed to have claws and were furiously slashing away at the soldiers as they tried to attack back. She quickly drew a arrow and fired it straight at one trying to fly off with someone in their grasp. Hitting it in the back, it fell down like a dead bird while dropping the person who landed with slight damage. It slowly got up, its eyes blazing with rage. It dashed through the air slicing through anything in its path. It seemed to be furious that someone actually managed to hit it with an arrow. Raisas' eyes widened as she quickly jumped to the side to avoid it, and rolled on the ground shooting another arrow during the fall. It hit point blank yet again, and it only seemed to increase its rage. It charged mindlessly again, as Raisa realized she got back up too late. It tackled her as it flew into the air. She tried to ignore the pain as she gripped a arrow from the quiver and stabbed it in the back as many times as she could. It screamed every time the arrow sank in until it eventually went limp and dropped to the ground. Raisa fell with a large impact, "I think I heard something crack…" as she got up. The creature dropped something, it looked like a black ball with a flaming dark aura. She picked it up and quickly dashed back to the scene of the fight to a dark sight. The soldiers were all on the floor with one remaining. The man was held in a chokehold by the biggest one of the ghastly beings as the fire was spreading. Throwing the soldier to the side through a burning house, it charged at Raisa. Being too slow, it grabbed Raisa and its grip was so strong she couldn't move her arms. It flew off as all the other creatures followed. It flew for hours, and hours, as the burning city slowly got smaller in the distance. The pain was slowing her thoughts, as she was getting tired. She fell limp in its hand, as she fell unconscious.
It seemed to have been dawn when she woke up, her eyes shooting open as she realized her situation. She screamed, "SOMEBODY! HELP!" but nothing answered but growling from her captor. 'Is this it?' she thought. Just moments after the dark thought entered her mind, she noticed something flying at her. She raised an eyebrow, as it impacted the creature's face. It was… water? More pellets of liquid shot up and hit it in the face, as it seemed to be hurting from it. Finally a watery fist shot up from the ground, and slammed into the ethereal beings face as it was knocked unconscious, or dead. She didn't know. But then she realized. "Im saved! Haha!" Then the realization hit her. She was up in the air. Far. "No, no, NO-" She hit the grass as it faded to black instantly.
Author's Note: Hello! This is my first time ever writing here, so please feel free to leave any suggestions or reviews. This story will have many things not from Minecraft, original or inspired from mods. In this world there's an entire other side that's completely different from original Minecraft so it might not be as accurate. Let me know what I can do to make sure they blend together.
