I own my OC's

It was a night like any other, his tendency to be more active during the night the only reason he's still awake despite his will to sleep.

he thought a calm walk along the lake opposite to the town he's been staying around would be a good idea, he liked drinking around the lake it was the town's life blood albeit it is a small town in the middle of nowhere without a map or any guided landmarks he didn't know where on 'earth' he was but once he found the village he decided to stay for a couple of days at least until after he figured out where he is, it was winter but there was no snow, he liked the cold but even he had his limits when it came to freezing to death, walking around the lake for the third time he decided to head back to the village behind the herbalist's shop called 'life's grove' it was a place for the sick to get help from the herbalist who had the ability to cure all ailments he didn't know how she did it, but all he could remember was the glowing lights that appear after someone walks through the front door

Walking towards the shop passing around the lake a fourth time he finally felt the moonlight he is a six ft one man with brown, skin, black hair and different colored eyes, one brown and one silver, he wore a formal black trench coat, red tie and black gloves, a black thick gauntlet on his left arm made of a kind of glass and finally a white cloak reaching down to just above his ankles

Being a small village with no name, it wasn't home to many shops and businesses just a convenience store, bakery, the herbalist and a restaurant/bar/hotel called 'the sailor's rest' run by who he could describe as the most pirate sounding motherfucker he has heard in his life who has some military name that starts with S but he already forgot

Sitting down against the wall he closed his eyes and let his white cloak draft over him providing the little warmth it could provide raising the hood over his head he nearly dozed off if he didn't open his eyes momentarily and see a pale girls face in front of him with wonder, looking up he took in her form she looked around four or five years old standing at three ft four with short black hair ending in red tips, large round silver eyes she wore a frilly black dress with splotches of red along the outfit like her shoulders and wrists the skirt of the dress ended just past her knees with black stockings and ruby red slip on shoes

She stared with her silver eyes into his brown and equally silver one he didn't know what to do until she just jumped in his arms with glee her little arms wrapped around his chest her face smothered in his neck, refusing to let go he just held his arms in the air watching her get comfortable at first he had the urge to push her off but he just let her stay there incase she was scared and lost, until he heard footsteps coming around the corner

"Summer, Summer?!" it was a feminine voice yelling what he assumed was the child's name waiting for the yelling female to turn the corner she froze taking in the two

The woman looked to be in her early twenties standing at five ft four she looked like the girl in her arms but older, the same black hair and red tips the same silver eyes but of course her her clothes were different she wore a black blouse with a symbol of a red rose on her breast and a red skirt that reached above her knees with the same kind of red shoes the girl wore she was small standing at five foot four in a petite body

"Um hi?" she greeted with a somewhat nervous gaze but with a small smile pointed at the young man

"hi, uh do you mind of you get her off me?" he asked in return which the women just chuckled a little and grabbed the girl who refused to let go of him

"Summer come on off the nice boy," she said trying to coax the crying girl off of the teen who just watched as the girl refused to let go

"mommy I want him back, don't make him leave!" she sobbed irking the attention of the teen but before she could say anymore her mother managed to rip her off and hold the sobbing girl quietening her down as she screamed in her mother's breast

"uh sorry about she's probably just mistaken you for her brother he uh...disappeared some time ago" she tried to explain

"I'm uh Roisin Rose and this is my daughter Summer rose," she said offering her hand to help him up which he didn't take and just stood up he himself

"Fletcher, Just Fletcher" he greeted back as they both awkwardly looked around the sobbing Summer reduced to small sniffles in her mother's arms

"So Fletcher, why are you on the ground?" she asked but Fletcher felt like it was a forced question a rhetorical one

"I'm a traveller you know taking in the sites thought I'd set up camp around here for a little shut-eye" he lied feeling it casually roll off of his tongue which she seemed to notice

"behind my store?" she questioned putting her free hand on her hip staring him down but he relented

"yeah"

"with no fire?"

"my cloak has an 80g valtherm quilted thermal lining for extra warmth when I get chilly" he replied not understanding a word he just said but it felt right

"but no sleeping bag?" Fletcher seemed to have inched towards the wall by her stare without him noticing

"my cloaks comfy enough?" he tried but it sounded more like a question than an answer

"yet you have no food, no shelter sitting in the dark behind my shop which is technically private property and your sick" she stated with a look of victory not expecting his half-arsed answers

"I came here to resupply, I lost my camping gear, I didn't know that grass next to a lake with no fence was private property and I'm not si-" but before he could finish he sneezed in his hands multiple times and when he looked back up he felt his nose was blocked

"okay maybe I'm slightly sick" he admitted making her cover her mouth giggling in amusement sounding like sweet music to his ears

"Well I guess if you're a traveller from a far away land, you wouldn't mind if you told me and my daughter all about your journey, say over some dinner?" she asked with a small grin as she felt Summer tense up in her arms but remain quiet as Fletcher thought over the offer

"I mean I don't want to intrude or an-" he began but suddenly Rosin had grabbed his hand and began forcing him to follow her towards the other side of the small town as she felt Summer relax in her arm hearing him being forcefully dragged behind

"not feeling intruded at all when we get home we can all be happy," she said unaware of her own words as her unmatched strength pulled him along he was tossed like a ragdoll

Later

Fletcher liked the house the moment he walked in it was a simple one-story home the walls were painted red like their namesake there were three bedrooms a bathroom and the living room that connected to the kitchen they were toys strewn everywhere of all different shapes and sizes trucks, bears and a little black wolf with red eyes and bone plating

When he walked in, Roisin told him she'd get dinner prepared and asked if he could watch Summer. At the first second her mother left she latched on his legs quietly sobbing, he didn't exactly know what to do with the crying children so he just lifted her into his arms and pet her back as he sat on the nearby couch his legs killing him from the days journey

"Hey uh, there there, or shush I mean don't cry" he tried to quieten her mountain of sobs but it only made it worse somehow

"you promised you wouldn't leave me, you promised you wouldn't forget me, but you did again!" she suddenly screamed using her clenched fists so to pound into his chest with a brutal assault triggering a headache in his brain

"don't leave me," the voice in his head said their voice merged with the sound of running water, every word he could only grasp at its meaning, but their voice was still unrecognisable

"I won't little light I promise"

Fletcher opened his eyes gasping for breath a weight on his chest, he tried to remember what happened but everything came up blank, and all he saw was darkness in the new space around him, he saw it was a simple bedroom, a brown oak dresser next to the door, on the far side of the bed there was also a painting of a storm with purple lighting striking the seas, that's when he saw the tuft of hair on his chest as he gained his bearings and his nerves awakening from their unneeded slumber he felt the girl, Summer laying haphazardly on his chest, her soft snores filling the room vibrating into his rib cage, now Fletcher didn't notice the passage of time as he was staring at her face, until her silver orbs opened tiredly looking at him in response the staring contest wasn't long until she shimmed her way up to his neck and gave him a peck on the cheek

"I wuv you," she slurred her voice tired and uneven falling asleep again leaving the confused Fletcher behind in the waking world his mind in a cross-state of confusion

'Jesus Christ, are all kids like this, latching onto strangers that look like they're siblings?' He thought still watching her unaware his hand started curling her hair around his finger on it's own

noticing it he mentally growled in frustration but eventually closed his eyes into a calm sleep
