Hybrid Synopsis:

General Traits:

7.5 ft tall, 450 lbs

Midnight black scales, glowing orange eyes

Reptilian, built like a lankier godzilla with a longer more dinosaurian snout

Spines/spikes on back which glow as the atomic breath charges

Powerful tail tipped with rattlesnake rattle which naturally vibrates when angry or threatened

When human, he is a very tall, rather lanky man in his mid twenties, athletic appearance fitting of a basketball or volleyball player. Jet black hair and amber colored eyes.

Abilities/Strengths:

Shapeshifts into normal human

Breaths orange atomic breath 'Hellfire'

Scales are incredibly resistant to heat

Scales for naturally resilient body armor capable of deflecting most bullets and blunt objects

Venomous

Thermal vision

Incredibly strong bite

Heavily muscled body is very strong

Sharp claws and teeth

Very strong swimmer, can hold breath for long durations

Can semi-communicate with reptiles

Weaknesses:

Extreme cold

Cannot remain a human for more than two hours without suffering chronic pain and headaches

Fiance named Kelsey

Story:

Nuclear scientist and mathematician Jackson 'Jack' LaTrelle was working on an experimental power plant at Gotham University when a catastrophic reactor meltdown occurred. Jack was washed away with the radioactive sludge into the nearby zoo, a part of the university. Winding up in the reptile house, Jack mutated into a horrific monster: Hybrid.

At first terrified of his condition, his fiance Kelsey, a law student, immediately set to work trying to help him find a cure, earning his undying love

The beauty and the beast were not accepted by society, however, and were soon shunned

With Jack and his fiance shunned by society and unable to find a cure, the LaTrelle pair was soon forced into a life of crime in Gotham's seedy underbelly

Jack and Kelsey soon built themselves a lair underneath a junkyard near the city center which linked to the sewers, subway, and city outskirts which they nicknamed the Dragon's Lair. From this hideout, the duo operated.

For a time, Hybrid managed to fly under the radar, finding work as a bounty hunter, assassin, hired muscle, or thief

Hybrid did not take long to realize the extent of his powers however, and soon made some power moves, rapidly ascending to the near top of the rogues gallery, edging out others as he made himself a spot alongside Gotham's other top tier criminals such as Riddler, Poison Ivy, Deadshot, Firefly, and the Scarecrow.

Hybrid, while he was a killer, was by no means a brute and killed out of necessity rather than bloodlust, and soon earned a reputation as a methodical and intelligent antagonist

However, after a tussle with the Batman, Hybrid quickly found himself at a podium in court, chained down by heavy shackles. Kelsey, now a legally certified attorney, represented him amazingly and easily managed to earn him an insanity plea. While his insanity kept him off death row, Hybrid soon found himself in Arkham Asylum, where our story begins….

This, along with Chapter One, is a pilot for a story idea I've been boucing around in my head for quite a while now. This is my first venture into DC and into the superhero/mystery genre as a whole, so please don't hesitate to leave me some feedback. I wrote these characters as best I could but please if something feels off don't hesitate to tell me. This genre is all new to me and I'm sure some of you are much more knowledgeable than I am.

Also FYI this little readout is only temporary and will be pulled later, once these details have all made their way into the story. I just thought it'd be more convenient to tell you straight up instead of making you wait for each chapter to have answers to some of the inevitable questions that surround an OC. Once this has all been worked into the narrative, this little guy is gonna get pulled.
