Gods.
Divine beings who gift power to those who they see fit; rumored to be real, yet not known.
This is the story of a boy, one who held no power. He was different from the others, making him an outcast by birth.
Having a loving mother and a missing father, his life was upside down. That is, until he was gifted with something special.
To know what happened, I must tell you the story.
A goddess named Euphia, she was beautiful, yet she was merciless. The Goddess of None. She would look at mortals from above, hoping to find one special person.
She saw this single boy. How many times he was bleeding and bruising, he didn't cry. He didn't complain. She would watch him from above everyday, as he would keep his emotions bottled in.
The boy, near the age of 10, sat on a bench at a nearby park. His dull, empty green eyes stared at the tree before him. His muddy red shoes lay beside him.
" The sky looks so pretty, doesn't it ever get lonely up there ? " the boy questioned monotonously, putting his hand up to the sky.
" Yes, it does sometimes. " a woman's voice came through, making the boy jerk his hand back to himself.
Golden rain danced in front of his eyes.
The boy looked in front of himself, seeing a maiden with a loose white dress that the person inside the coffin would wear. She had silky blonde hair, pearly white teeth, and golden eyes that look like they can see through your soul.
" Come here little boy. " the woman said, putting her hands out as an invitation for a hug.
The boy's bare foot touched the ground, he slowly walked up to the woman. Until he sensed no ill intent, he hugged her.
' She's warm... ' he thought. ' Just like mother. ' He clasped her dress, tears spilled out of his eyes. He cried until his eyes went red and puffy.
He talked while she listened, telling her everything, as she understood. In exchange, she would tell him her story.
He looked to check the clock engraved into a nearby pole. He had to go home. He ran about 2 feet until he turned back, running to the woman.
Reluctantly, he paused in front of her, asking, " Would you be back tomorrow ? " He looked into her eyes. She could see the fire in his eyes, something that will burn everything down in his way.
She smiled and replied, " Very well. See you again tomorrow, little one. "
With one more bye, she faded out of his sight.
[ Age 11 ]
Izuku and Euphia had a mother - son relationship, as the boy's mother passed away from a heart attack during her sleep.
" Euphia ! " the boy, a bright smile planted on his face. He wore a green hoodie with the imprint, ' STEAL YOUR HEART ' on the front, black jeans, and red shoes. White bandages wrapped around his neck and his fingers. The bullying over the years have only gotten worse, yet he still smiles.
' How much pain are you in, little one ? '
She waves back at the boy, smiling.
" So are you going to tell me another one of your stories ? " the boy asked.
She found out the kid lived for stories.
" Not today, little one. It's about my powers. " she says, sadness touched her eyes.
The boy tilted his head. " I mean - I know that your a divine being and all... But what about your power ? "
She put a hand on her chest. " I want you to host my power. " she poked his chest to emphasize ' you '. " Knowing that you have been an outcast, and have been treated unfairly, you have a strong sense of justice - one most don't have. You just have a knack for making right decisions. I will open the doors that have been closed to you. " she smiled, looking at the boy, tears came out of his eyes.
" Thank you. " he smiled once more, as a soft golden glow rushed over the boy, the warmth chorused through his veins.
" Very well then, little one. Create a new path for the ones who have no choice but to follow. "
The boy's green hair turned into the same blond colour, and his eyes reveal golden orbs with a tint of emerald green.
" Thank you... " he whispered, then walked home.
