* Note to my readers:

I do not own Princess and the Frog characters.

I've always loved the movie Princess and the Frog and thought it would be a perfect movie to create my own story from. I decided to create a fanfiction that makes this more modernized to the 21st century and makes the characters teens, and therefore more relatable ( although this is the censored version). Some of the characters have different relations than in the movie because I have modified their ages and identities to fit my story. Other than that, all ideas are my own and I am more than open to constructive criticism. Enjoy !

Tiana stormed into the house, slamming the mahogany wood door behind her. She threw her backpack down and made her way down the hallway to her mothers room.

" Mom!", Tiana yelled. Tiana furiously opened her Mom's door to find her sitting on the bed staring out the window. Tiana looked down to her mothers hands to see she was holding a picture frame. Tiana let out a sigh and walked over to sit by her mothers side. "Hey Mama," Tiana said softly, taking the frame out her hands. Her mother looked up at her daughter to reveal bloodshot red eyes. "Hey darling," Eudora answered. After a few seconds, Eudora gasped. " Oh my goodness, your job thing was today ! How did it go?", Eudora questioned. Tiana hesitated. She didn't want to inform her mother that she wasn't able to apply because she forgot to sign her application forms for being a minor worker. "Just fine," Tiana replied. She stood up, kissed her mother on the head, and made her way out the room. "Hey, I'll cook dinner tonight Mama, you get some rest."

Tiana closed the door to her mothers room and went up to her room. Pushing aside the gigantic pile of cookbooks, aprons, and shoes, she plopped down on her bed. She looked down at the picture in her hands. It was the family photo they had taken three months before her dad, James, had passed. Although it had been a year since the passing of James, Tiana and her mother were still dealing with the constant ache and pain of his death. Her now widowed mother had become a different person than Tiana was used to, and things just weren't the same. Tiana let out a heavy sigh and buried her head into the pillows on her bed. She was also just completely devastated she wasn't able to get the second job at Cal's. Tiana knew as much as she was angry, she couldn't let this setback get to her- she was going to find a way to get to culinary school and open the restaurant she and her daddy always dreamed of.

The very driven Tiana got up out of bed and headed to the kitchen. Cooking always boosted her spirits and comfort food just had a way of piecing back together her broken soul. Tiana mixed, chopped, and pieced everything together in the big jumbo pot, moving as if she was born with knowing everything regarding cooking. "You know the thing about good food? It brings people together from all walks of life. It warms them right up and puts little smiles on their faces," her daddy's voice rang through her head as she tasted her jumbo and set the table for dinner.
