Author Note: Ice Dragon Broken Heart has been a story I've been working on progressively throughout the last five or so years. With several reboots/rewrites, 5 sequels, and over 40 OC's. With such an investment in my life. I'd like to at least have a complete version and so here we are. This story is smaller, more focused, and cannon-complacent, but is still an AU. Running from Post of the Tower of Heaven to the end of Tartaros arc. This story also runs alongside 'Golden Heart & Red Roses' with a single sequel planned. Story takes place after chapter 104 'Best Friend' and before Chapter 105 'That man, Luxus'.

Chapter 1

It was hard to hide her desire. A cruel mistress that left her wanting to fill a need. Which she struggled to elevate as the only person in the world who she wanted. Was rather clear about her stance on fulfilling it. Which meant all Lucy Heartfilia could do was watch the woman. Who was putting her metaphorical and literal boot on a certain stripper mage. He was screeching out for her to stop, but the redhead woman was ignoring him. Surprisingly it wasn't caused by a certain someone who liked to pick fights. Her metal armor was reflecting the light and drawing Lucy's brown eyes towards her figure. One day, she happily thought over her kinky desires. After finally satisfying herself the redhead woman turned towards her. Smirking.

The redhead woman walked over towards her and leaned in. Towering over her, "Want something?" She asked, smirking. Even with the armor, Lucy was rather aroused by her. Nodding her head, "Really? I swear-" the woman was cut off as the sound of wood cracking caught the attention of people. Lucy's frowned, but her brown eyes moved over towards the source of the noise. A pink-haired dragon slayer fist was lodged into a structural support beam. Splitting the job board into sending the countless paper, sawdust, and wood scraps into the air. Flames emerged around his body and he walked over to another table.

The pink-haired man walked over towards another table. Where the other dragon slayer was munching on a tin can. Raised his eyebrow at him as Natsu slammed the paper in his hand. Gajeel was annoyed but picked up the piece of paper. "What do you pink- what the fuck?" Gajeel readjusted the way he was sitting and looked at the paper. Reading over the words on it again, "Who the hell?-"

"That's what I'm wondering," Natsu replied. "Wanna come. I'm going to get to the bottom of this."

"Of course not," Gajeel snapped. His voice was rather eerily, "Just because I joined the guild doesn't mean I want to deal with you." He growled, "And you interrupt my meal for this shit?" Natsu nodded his head and walked over to the wooden bar. Most of the guild had gone from either groaning, cursing him out. To go back to whatever they were doing. Lucy leaned in and snatched a kiss from the redhead woman who was distracted. Only to receive glares.

"What?" Lucy said smiling," I can't help myself, but you could help by alleviating my desires." She winked, and the redhead woman sighed.

"At least you're not in the maid outfit," Erza Scarlet said, shaking her head. "Hey, Natsu what the hell was that about?" She called out to him but didn't get a response. He approached the white-haired barmaid who instantly turned towards him. Summoning a sword the redhead woman walked over towards her. Lucy followed her hoping to get a glimmer of the future.

"What's wrong?" The white-haired woman asked him. She put down the mug in her hand as she was supposed to be serving a customer. Natsu handed the paper to her, "Oh the Dragon Strait quest. It's been on the job board for at least two days now. No one wants to take it due to how pitiful the pay is. And it's rather vague." She replied as if knowing what the man was wondering. "Let me guess you're going to take it? Well, have fun. Though you should stay, the Harvest Festival in three days."

"This is important," he replied. "I'm putting an end to this. No bloody person in their right mind would go after Dragon Straight. Lucy, Erza I'm going on a mission you coming?"

"Uhh sure," Lucy said unhappily. She wanted to spend time with her favorite redhead woman. "I need the money so why not? You're coming right?" Lucy made that sly smile.

"Of course I am and don't get your hope up," she whispered into her ears. With that, they followed Natsu holding hands. It was almost perfect.

Brushing off his fur. The black cat followed his master's eyes who had been staring at the hieroglyphics for hours now. Which only seemed to make him more and more angered. Even with the cloak that covered his body, the frustration was there. The hieroglyphics were of an old tale from pre-Fioren history. One of an ancient lord who ruled over that of dragon kind. A warning or some story that parents would tell children... "So you're going to keep staring at the pretty pictures on the wall? Or we could do something else. Like eat food, move to a colder location, and sleep." He suggested but as usual, was ignored.

"You can sleep later," the man responded. "This was a useless endeavor on my part. A waste of time. I don't care about pre-Fiorian history. I want information on Dragon Straights, not a bedtime story." Even with his usual emotionless style of speaking. One could easily tell that he was furious. They had been in the town for months now. Devouring myths, legends, books, and more. Well he was, the cat particularly had no interest in boring human fascinations. How anyone could care about such boring things was lost on him. "Come Dusk let us get ready to embarge away from this useless dead of a town."

"Neat," Dusk responded to his master. Who wore a brown cloak that stuck out like a sore thumb in the winter winds. With that, his wings disappeared and landed on the man's back. It was easy to ride him than to burn through his smaller and finite amount of magic. Compared to his master who seemed to have a rather infinite pool to pull from. "So how-"

"Three days," the man responded. As if he could read Dusk's mind, "It will take that long for me to get everything in order. The few things I do have and decide on a new destination. Though to be honest after this I don't have a clue where to head. This was the last lead. And I'm not in the mood to track down Salamander. Nor does it sound particularly tampering."

"Right," Dusk said, unsure of how to respond. "So food?"

"When we returned to the cave," he responded. "You can eat something or another. Whatever we have left." Dusk frowned but kept himself quiet. "Now then let us leave this empty husk of history."
