Solaria

All Solaria could do is stare out the window, watching the monsters and mewmans in a battle of fury. She dreamed of creating her own army, strong enough to defeat the monsters so everyone could live in peace. That's what she wanted to do as Queen of Mewni. At the time Solaria couldn't think of herself being queen, neither could most of the commoners, who mostly hoped she was going to be sent to St. Olga's reform school for wayward princesses so their villages wouldn't be destroyed by monster battles. Even Solaria knew that's what they wanted, although her parents, Queen Solena and King Reyes always took a more loose approach on parenting.

Solaria was nothing like her Mother, who was elegant and graceful and could dance the night away without breaking a sweat. Solaria could fight monsters without breaking a sweat, but she was told that fighting monsters would rarely come in handy being queen. Solaria's Mom was hiding in the magic sanctuary, while their daughter had opted to stay in her bed room to watch the fight. Her Father was fighting the monster. Her mother thought her daughter was perfectly safe, as Solaria had the family heirloom wand in her hand. Solaria remembered the day she inherited the wand perfectly.

The magical high commission and her parents were there, her father rambling on and on about how to use it wisely and all. Eventually Solaria grabbed the wand from her mothers hands, for it to turn into a red glowing sword.

"Remember to use it carefully, and we can revoke it if you can't handle it. Do you understand?" Everyone knew Queen Solena was only saying that because she had to, and she wanted to see her daughter do magic.

"Yes Mother."

"Go on then, try a spell out."

Solaria hadn't thought of a spell to cast.

"I'm not sure what spell to cast." Her Mother put a hand on Solaria's shoulder.

"You'll think of some in time. Ok?"

"Of course I will."

Solaria was brought back from the memory as a bunch of cannons went off, making everything shake. Solaria walked out of her room, and started to stroll down the halls of Mewni castle, until she ended up at a dead end of a hallway. She read the little plaque by the door.

"The Tapestry room." Solaria quietly read aloud into the halls. She carefully swung open the door, into a room with gigantic tapestries. She looked to one of the tapestries and saw that instead of a person there was an empty white and gold space. Solaria looked in front of her and saw 26 former queens of mewni in front of a tapestry still attached to a loom. Solaria saw that a girl that looked remarkably like her was in the middle, swinging around a sword that looked exactly like her wand. She was wearing a dress made for battle, a dress made of red, black, and silver. She saw that her head was shaved, and that she was fighting monsters, like she wanted to.

Solaria turned back around to see that all the ladies from before were back in their tapestries. Solaria read aloud the plaque next to her tapestry.

"A castle stormed is a hero born, with might as strong as steel, Kneel the void before her, and the crushing force she wields." Solaria knew what she had to do, and she knew she would do it after the battle was over. Solaria didn't want to return to her room, so she grabbed a snookers from a vending machine and went out to the rose garden. Solaria swung her sword by her side, thinking of her destiny, a piece of her future bound in fabric. Solaria felt a slight tap on her shoulder, and was about to swing her sword when she saw who it was.

"What do you want Alphonse?"

"Nothing Princess, I just saw that you were alone and I was wondering if you wanted to walk with me?" The Prince blurted out all of this in a hurry, and turned bright red afterwards.

"Sure. Want a bite of snookers?"

"No thanks, I have my own sweets." Alphonse pulled out a bag of corn muffins, and offered one to Solaria, who took one and broke off a piece of her candy bar and gave it to him in return.

"Thanks." He said, eating a bite of corn muffin and chocolate bar at the same time. Solaria was usually never interested in boys, but she happened to like Alphonse, as he was caring and kind, and seemed to like her back because of who she was, instead of her status as a princess.

"The battles gone on for a while now hasn't it?"

"I suppose so, my Mom went to hide in the sanctuary."

"The general said it should be over soon." Alphonse said, probably knowing best, considering his Father was pretty much second in command.

"To be honest, I hope it'll end soon but I don't think it will. There's a difference."

"If it doesn't you'll probably see them out of Mewni."

"Why would you think that? I'd never be allowed to leave the castle ever again."

"I mean, a castle stormed is a hero born, with might as strong as steel, Kneel the void before her, and the crushing force she wields."

"You saw the tapestry?"

"Of course I did. My Mum's the one wh0 weaves them."

"I just want this to be over."

"I hope it'll end soon too Princess. I should probably get back out to the battlefield." He quickly planted a kiss on Solaria's left cheek, and left for the battlefield. A soldier from the fight ran to Solaria.

"Princess Solaria!"

"What is it?" Solaria was in no mood to mess around.

"Your Father-"

"What about him?" Solaira knew it's not ladylike to interrupt, but her father was fighting, and she was worried he might be hurt, or worse.

"He's gone Princess Solaira, my condolences. Now I must give the news to your Mother." Solaria dropped to the ground in tears, and the soldier left her in the rose garden. Solaria knew what she had to do. She sprinted up to her parents bedroom, holding the side of her blue dress up so she could run as fast as possible. She opened the door to her parents bathroom and grabbed her Father's razor. She loved her red hair that went down to her waist, but this was her destiny, her purpose. She shaved all her hair except a strip in the back, which she quickly braided. She flung open her wardrobe, where she came across red, black, and silver battle armour she had worn in the tapestry.

"Well, it's not the weirdest thing on Mewni." Solaria said as she dawned the dress. She was afraid, her father was said to be the strongest member of the army. She had to fill in his shoes, live up to his legacy. Somehow defeat the hundreds of monsters outside. Solaria wiped the tears from her eyes.

"Destiny Calls."

The girl left the castle with a wand in hand and hopes in her heart. She walked out to the battlefield, and Solaria burst into a tent, filled with soldiers moping around.

"What are you doing sitting here? The kingdom is in danger."

"Well, we don't have a plan." A soldier said.

"Why didn't you make one?"

"The general usually makes the plans."

"Well, I guess I'm the general now, as I need to fulfill my destiny and you clearly need to help out here. Here's the plan. I'll go out there and distract the big monsters, you guys fight the smaller ones to the side. Now who's with me?" Solaria got a chorus of cheers from the soldiers.

"Now go!" Solaria ran out near the big monsters and started waving the sword dangerously close to them, and they started breathing fire and lunging at her, and she smacked them with her sword in return, causing a red glow to paralyze them, making them unfit to fight. Solaria had a broad grin on her face, and saw the soldiers she had taken command of were following the plan, and the other troops were joining them. Solaria had a grin on her face and a sword in hand. Even though her Father was dead and her Mother was in grief, Solaria hadn't fought monsters like this for a long time. She was thrilled of her opportunity. Solaria thought, maybe fighting could be useful to a queen. Sure seems useful now.

Many hours of fighting and carving monsters was finally over. Solaria ran up to Alphonse and wrapped her arms around him.

"Princess, you did good out there." He said. Solaria winked at him.

"I know I do, thanks."

Three years later Solaria and Alphonse were 18, married and were moving around as they fought monsters. Solaria loved slaying them with her sword. The two got into some fights, but they usually worked it out.

Five years later, Solaria had just slaughtered a giant spider. She was Queen of Mewni, dubbed Solaria the monster carver. Solaria could hear the people below cheering for her, and her little girl, Eclipsa, cooed.

"Citizens! Too long you have lived under the monster's reign of terror! I am forming a new volunteer army to remove this monster threat once and for all. Now, who among you will join me?" Solaria projected her voice into the crowd of her people, hoping that this would be the day she'd get a member. She flexed her arm and smiled as baby Eclipsa did the same, while giggling. She never liked bringing the baby to battle, as Eclipsa could get hurt or put in danger. But Alphonse had left Solaria a month before, so there wasn't anyone to take care of Eclipsa.

"uhh...Do we have to?" A commoner in the crown asked.

"What?"

"We're pretty used to this by now. It's fine."

"It's not fine." Solaria interjected.

"Plus, shouldn't you be doing, like, queen stuff?" Another voice objected.

"Yeah, seems like a lot of work." Someone agreed. Every village Solaria had given this speech too gave a similar response.

"Yeah, I gotta get back to work man." Someone said, and the crowd quickly cleared.

"Well, there you have it Eclipsa." Solaria said, staring at where the crowd used to be, and Eclipsa made baby noises in return. She wanted to make sure her little princess never got her heart broken, like she did with Alphonse. Solaria would make sure Eclipsa was married to a man that would never leave.

"Another village seemingly unconcerned with rampaging monsters. Oh yes you're so sweet." Solaria said as Eclipsa made more baby noises.

"Let's go get a snookers. You want a snookers?" Solaria remembered the day she had seen her tapestry and eaten a snookers, and it brought back memories of Alphonse kissing her on the cheek, the news of her father, so she quickly brushed the thoughts away and was glad the love of snookers was passed down to her daughter. Eclipsa also enjoyed the little muffins Alphonse loved, that were on the bottom of vending machines.

"Your Majesty?" A single voice raised from the almost empty street. Solaria looked down to see a dirty commoner with pink pigtails and a dress in tatters.

"For what it's worth, I thought your speech was real neat. You must be the strongest queen ever, standing up to all those monsters."

"So there is someone brave enough to step forward." Solaria was overjoyed that someone finally agreed with her, but she needed to keep a formal tone.

"Peasant girl, will you volenteer as my first Solarian warrior?" Solaria asked, hoping with all her heart the girl would agree.

"Aw geez I'd love too, but I'm just a simple rag peddler. "

"No." Solaria said as she jumped down to the street to get a better look at the girl.

"I see your conviction. Your love for your kingdom. You are exactly the kind of soldier I'm looking for."

"But I've never fought anyone before."The girl said.

"That is no matter. I do not ask for strength. I ask only that you believe in me."

"I do believe in you." The peasant said, tears welling up in her eyes.

" Then swear yourself to me, and I will make you the fiercest warrior Mewni has ever known." Solaria thought she had a great start to her army already.
