This is sort of AU, I think. Ziva is fifteen when she joins NCIS. This is Cairo, and Ziva is thirteen. Jenny is thirty four(in cairo).
She was ten years old, walking towards her mother's body lying in the living room, blood pooled around the corpse. Ziva screamed and her brother rushed over, murmuring words of comfort as he hid her view, hugging her so tightly she thought her bones would shatter. She struggled in his grip, wanting to run and find her ima, alive and well.
"Ima!" she screamed. "IMA! MAMA! Ari! Let me go! I want my ima!"
The exact words she had uttered then burst from her throat. Ziva bolted upright, shaking and shivering. A redhead walked into the room. Ziva frowned at her, brushing a lock of curly brown hair behind her ear.
"I'm fine," she said, her Isreali accent coating her words. Jenny smiled as she walked over and sat on the edge of her bed, smirking at the younger woman.
"I've told that lie a million times myself. Now, what did you dream of?" She asked. Ziva laughed shakily, running a hand through her curls.
"My ima. Three years ago... she died. I was... scared. I had seen bodies before, but when it's someone you know, it's frightening and terrifying. Tali was only six when it happened, so she didn't really remember it. I could never get that image out of my mind. Her body, blood pooling around it... Tali was the only thing that kept me together."
"I'm sorry," Jenny soothed, as tears bloomed in Ziva's eyes. She wrapped an arm around the girl and murmured words of comfort, even though she knew it wouldn't help. When Jenny's father had died seven years ago, her best friend from Israel, Rivka Shalir, had visited with her six-year-old and four-year-old daughters. Only she had been able to get Jenny out of her room. Nobody else could help. Jenny looked at the young girl in front of her, barely a teenager and saw the resemblance between her best friend who had gone missing few years back and her.
"What was your mother's name?" she asked, swallowing as she waited for Ziva's response. A frown crossed the younger girl's face but she answered the question anyway.
"Rivka, Rivka Shalir."
Jenny stumbled and fell back, blackness clouding her vision. Distinctly, she heard a voice as a vague figure dropped to their knees beside her.
"Jenny? Jenny!" Ziva grabbed the phone and dialled 123, the ambulance emergency number in Egypt. Jenny groaned as a woman rushed into the room, pulling Ziva back.
"Let me go! I want to see my friend!" Ziva yelled, and was hit by the similarity of words she had used three years ago and the words coming from her mouth right now. Jenny was dragged away by some doctors and murmured Rivka's name, the world blurred around her. She saw the woman still restraining Ziva from rushing over.
"Jenny!"
Hello! sorry for the cliffhanger. I haven't decided if I'm going to do a new chapter or not. I'll be working on longer chapters for Gibbs, Jenny and Ziva. If you want new chapters, just tell me in the reviews. Thank you!
