Stuck Like Glue

Summary: Six months after her reunion with Stabler, Captain Benson and her squad attend an annual police conference in upstate New York. Who will Olivia run into at the nation wide conference? Shenanigans ensue.

A/N: Takes place in the summer of 2021, canon through to the premiere of Law and Order Organized Crime. Rated M for adult situations, sex. This was originally going to be a one shot but it's too big I think. Covid doesn't exist in this story.

Disclaimer: I do not own SVU or OC, just borrowing them.

"Is everybody ready?" Olivia asked her sergeant standing in the doorway of her office.

"Whenever you are," Fin replied.

"Let's go, I want to get there early so we have some time to get settled, and meet the other squad we're sharing a suite with," Olivia confirmed.

The squad was on their way to a police conference in upstate New York. The hotel was situated on a large piece of land, with a lake, and trails, but basically in the middle of no where.

It featured large conference rooms, restaurants, an indoor and outdoor swimming pool and spa. The rooms were mostly suites, featuring multiple bedrooms with a shared living space and kitchen.

They would be sharing their suite with another unit, but Olivia didn't know which one. It was a police conference open to any unit across the nation. Medical examiners, CSU techs, prosecutors, and psychiatrists, any who worked with the police were invited as well.

There would be seminars and demonstrations to attend to all day. They would have the chance to network with other law enforcement from all over the 50 states, and learn the latest in police procedures.

Her unit was attending for the first time. They had never attended before but with the growing climate Olivia thought it more important than ever to stay on top of their training.

The four day conference was also a bit of a vacation. The seminars only took up about four to six hours each day. The rest of the time the attendees could use however they wanted. Olivia had made plans to meet Melinda at the spa one day. She loved her son dearly, but he and Amanda's kids were staying with Lucy at her mother's house for the long weekend, so Olivia wanted to take advantage of her kid and work free time.

The past six months had been particularly stressful for her. The squad was busier than ever, that was consistent, but she was also more stressed than normal thanks to the reappearance of her old partner. Although she felt horrible for his recent loss, she also had to guard her own heart, and she couldn't just hop back into a friendship with him. She had been successfully avoiding his calls, texts and emails in the past months, always claiming she was busy whenever he tried to make plans to see her. Fortunately there had been no reason for their squads to collaborate either. She didn't know if she would ever trust him again but she knew seeing him would just weaken her, the same way he claimed, if he spoke to her, he never would have left in the first place.

Fin was driving her, Rollins and Kat in her SUV. It was a four day conference and they were trying to beat the morning traffic, Olivia happy to be on their way before 8am Thursday morning.

Fin's fiancée was also attending but riding up with her own squad. She knew Carisi was driving up with some other members of the DA's office. Melinda Warner had texted her last week to confirm she'd see her there too.

It would take four hours to get there, traffic permitting. There were seminars they could attend that afternoon. Every evening the hotel hosted a cocktail hour. Attendance was optional, they could also use that time to go swimming or enjoy any of the other amenities the hotel and grounds offered.

Fin and Olivia made small talk quietly as the female detectives in the back of the SUV snoozed.

Olivia sighed and stretched as she got out of the car. It was around noon when they finally arrived. They all grabbed their luggage and headed to the check in area.

As Captain, Olivia took charge and greeted the attendant at the check in table.

"Olivia Benson, checking in for the SVU squad, 16th precinct, Manhattan New York," Olivia told the man behind the desk.

The young man in his mid thirties smiled at her, "It's nice to meet you, are you checking in for your whole party?"

"Yes, the four of us, Tutuola, Rollins, and Kat."

"Perfect, here are some brochures for you guys, map of the hotel and surrounding area. Also a list of seminars you can sign up for online, see who else is attending, whose teaching the seminars, what they're about and so on. And here are your keys you're in room 222, I sincerely hope you enjoy your stay Captain," the man concluded, everyone noted the way his eyes scanned up and down their Captain's body.

Olivia smiled, "Thanks." She grabbed the brochures and keycards, handing them off to her squad.

Together the four of them headed to the elevators and quickly ascended to their floor. "Do you ever go anywhere without getting hit on?" Kat asked her boss chuckling.

"No," Amanda and Fin blurted out at the same time. Olivia rolled her eyes.

"He wasn't hitting on me, hell he was probably half my age!" Olivia defended.

Amanda snorted, "There's no age limit for beauty. Besides you could totally rock the cougar thing if you wanted to."

Olivia groaned as her squad laughed, "Okay okay, enough of that. I'm not seeking companionship of any age at the moment."

The four officers poured out of the elevator on the second floor with their luggage. The hotel was five stars and it was becoming apparent very quickly why, as Olivia pushed open the door to their suite.

She had meant to ask the man who checked them in what other unit they would be sharing their suite with, but she forgot. She knew they had 3 of the 6 bedrooms in their suite. Rollins and Kat were going to share a room, she knew Fin was hoping to sneak Phoebe in at night, and Liv managed to have a room to herself. She knew some rooms had two double beds and some had a queen bed. She was hoping to nab a queen bed for herself. All the bedrooms had their own bathrooms as well. The only space they had to actually share with the other unit was the common areas, the living room, and kitchen.

The four officers stepped into the foyer, but before they could go any further they were greeted by a petite dark woman with a brown bob.

"Hi there, you must be Captain Benson and the SVU squad," she said while holding out her hand to Olivia, "I'm Sergeant Ayanna Bell, CO of the Organized Crime Control Bureau."

Olivia shook her hand but her smile faltered, the organized crime control bureau, wasn't that-

Her thoughts were abruptly cut off by another detective stepping into view.

"Olivia," Elliot called, from behind his boss, a smirk plastered all over his face.

Before, Olivia had feared this weekend would pass by too quickly, giving her no time to relax and unwind, but now she knew that these four days would drag on forever. Here she was in the middle of no where, trapped sharing a hotel suite with the man she had been actively avoiding for the past six months, her ex partner, Elliot Stabler.

A/N: Thank you for reading. English isn't my first language. This has been beta'd but any mistakes are mine. Will be M in upcoming chapters. I'm going to try to keep this light. It obviously won't follow the shows after the reunion episodes. If you take a moment to review, thank you very much, I'm new at this writing thing and appreciate any feedback, good or bad.
