"Thank you for coming. He's in really bad shape" Toby was relieved. He didn't think Paige would come. He wouldn't have blamed her if she didn't after Walter fired her out of the blue.
"I almost didn't" she admitted " I don't know how long this is going to take though- I've never seen him this bad before" she continued sadly as she looked down at Walter- who apparently hadn't moved in the days since she left.
At first the other genius' hadn't been worried- they were angry at him for sacking the liason, who they knew was the glue that made Scorpion work but as time went on it was obvious that Walter (dispite creating the situation) was hit harder than any of them had realised. But as time went on and he still failed to emerge from the loft, they'd began to panic.
Happy had been there for the worst of Walter's Rabbit hole experiences when Mark was still a member of the team- she'd had to force fed him to keep him alive. She'd taken one look at Walter the day before and refused to come back to the Garage terrified that he'd gotten himself into a worse state, she wouldn't be able to cope with that. Toby had never seen the usually unshakable engineer so scared for anyone. As another day passed he knew he had two options- have Walter committed, something he may never recover from, or call Paige and pray she could get through to him. He hoped she could.
Paige had sprayed herself with more perfume than usual and redid her hands with her lavender scented hand cream. Toby had suggested she try and trigger his olfactory senses to stir him from his apparent catatonia. "If I'm here longer than expected I'm going to need you guys to pick up and look after Ralph until I'm done" Toby nodded in agreement. "As long as it takes" He replied softly as he left the bedroom.
The smell of Paiges perfumes in the room had failed to rouse him thus far so she removed her shoes and jacket. Stroking his curly hair with one hand and whispering soothingly into his ear about how much she cared for him she wrapped herself around him like a second skin. After several hours she kissed him once on his forehead and once on the lips just before sleep took her.
