Hello! This is my first story at all, so come at me with any critizations at all please! I'd rather know if I'm being an idiot and doing something wrong then getting false hopes of myself being good! With that in mind, here's a summary for those who just randomly clicked on this instead of reading the summary normally.
An Au of the universe of PJO and HoU where, during the final fight with Kronos and Luke, Annabeth proclaims her love for Luke and reminds him of family. All with Percy Jackson on the sidelines, heartbroken by the girl he shared his first kiss with and thought they had something. But...instead of the normal Percy gets betrayed schtick, we get something possibly not seen before.
Chapter 1: The Final Battle
(Cliché I know.)
Hey there. If you haven't heard by now, my name is Percy Jackson, Son of Poseidon, monster killer extraordinaire and currently fighting for my life against a prophecy that said I would die. So it was pretty much just a normal day for me.
The only thing not normal for the day was that I was in the throne room of Olympus, fighting against the Titan Lord Kronos who was currently possessing my ex-friend Luke Castellan with my oldest friends Annabeth Chase and Grover Underwood. Ah, I should probably mention that Grover was a satyr or a half-man, half-goat who was also the new Lord of the Wild.
Grover was trying his best to help in this fight, playing his music and letting plants grow and wrap around Luke's/Kronos' ankles to try and pull him down to the ground. He was doing his best, but soon Kronos' blasted him into Hephaestus's throne with a shockwave of energy.
"You fools! You think that this, you three measly mortals, would be able to bring me, Kronos the Titan King, down?! Bah! Don't make me laugh!" The cocky deity laughed out as he said to not make him laugh. Idiot made himself laugh. I was about to comment on that before I heard Annabeth yell out to him;
"Luke please! Resist him! What about Thalia? If you don't stop him, Kronos will kill us all! No exceptions Luke! None!"
Truth be told I almost smiled at the tone she used against the titan lord. It sounded the same as when I thought of doing something completely awesome that she thought was completely stupid. Exasperated and angry.
"Luke is gone you insolent brat! I have full control over this body! And what else would I do? Spare the children of my treacherous children? Bah!" Kronos spouted out, but it looked like he was trying to coax himself into believing his own words as I could have sworn I saw a flash of blue in the currently golden eyes of the host of Kronos.
"Hah! The almighty Kronos doesn't even believe himself!" I snarked at the most opportune time "Plus, I thought you promised Luke you would spare us if you won! What happened to that?"
"Perseus Jackson-" I interrupted quickly "It's Percy Jackson actually. Stop making me feel old." Kronos continued like I said nothing "...always a thorn in my side. What do you think happened to that promise? It was not sworn on the Styx, and they don't call me the Crooked One for nothing."
I smirked as a look of anger and sadness took over Kronos' face as another flash of blue swept along his eyes. I looked towards to Annabeth as she looked shocked at the look of Luke's face came back before it morphed back into one of determination. Quickly I rushed forward and sliced at Kronos with Zoë Nightshade's blade, Riptide, but the Titan Lord quickly blocked it with a grace I can only hope I can rival.
Kronos quickly swept my legs out from under me and hit me away with the flat of his blade, knocking me to the ground and making me breath heavily even with my curse of the Styx. "Look Demigods! Look at your puny gods try and take down the Bane of Olympus, Typhon!" He shouted as Annabeth snuck up behind him and tried to slice at his back, though Kronos just whirled around before knocking her knife out of her hands and kicking her away. No lethal moves. Good, at least we know Luke's still in there!
"C'mon Dad...you can rebuild later!" I murmured to myself as I watched the Olympians fight Typhon. I watched as Dionysus got knocked away somewhere into the Appalachians and the other gods kept fighting the Father of Monsters. And it seems my wish came true as Typhon stepped into a lake and the water that splashed around formed into chains on his legs before said chains creeped up his body and started pulling him down into the water, soon the monster was gone, disappearing into the dark waters with a mighty roar.
And with that, Kronos gave out a mighty roar of his own, golden eyes glowing ferociously as he saw his main plan go down into a whole dam pile of shit. What? I can curse when I want to. It's fun! And you know I'm right.
In his fit of anger, Kronos twirled around and rushed at me in pure anger as he starting slashing right and left with his sword, never letting me get a rest as he pounded at my defenses left and right. My arms were getting weaker and I knew it. Even with the curse I was still getting tired, albeit at a slower rate. Finally Kronos kicked me away and I fell to the floor as he rounded on Annabeth, who grabbed up her knife quickly and blocked his sword with her knife, showing an astounding display of strength to everyone in the room. I didn't hear what she said but I had seen her mouth moving as I fought to get up. Though a few seconds later Kronos roared again and knocked Annabeth away, her knife falling to the floor once again.
I made my way to my feet and rushed at Kronos again, and I quickly used the first technique Luke ever taught me. I twisted my blade down to the pommel and pushed downwards to the floor, forcing the blade out of his hand and onto the floor, where I quickly pushed my foot onto it and kicked it into Hestia's hearth where it quickly became surrounded by the hot coals and warm looking flames of home.
"You damned demigod!" The Titan Lord screamed out as he pushed me away and back onto the floor. Then he went after his weapon, but when he reached down the flames of the hearth the fire itself seemed to lick up at his hands and burn him away from his weapon. Kronos hissed and stumbled back, glaring at the hearth as I chuckled quietly.
"Eldest Daughter! Give me my weapon immediately!" He yelled at the hearth. The only noises back was the snapping and crackling of the coals and wood. I laughed quietly again as Kronos glared at the hearth. Eventually though, Kronos looked back towards the two almost-beaten demigods in the room and growled, a bit of golden energy shining through his skin.
"Even if Typhon has failed, I will not. I am the father of the gods! I will not lose to them again. And the bloodbath of the gods and demigods will start with you both!" Kronos growled and stepped forward towards me, baring his fists as he does. But in his eyes I can see another flash of blue as Kronos grimaces and shakes his head.
"Luke! Please stop him! He won't spare anyone! Not just the gods, but even the demigods who fought on his side! Please Luke!" Annabeth screamed out reaching out towards Kronos/Luke with tears in her eyes. "I love you!"
And with that, both my eyes and Luke's widen comically and whirl our heads around to look at Annabeth. Mine in shock and his in hope. And yes, it was Luke, his eyes were completely blue at this point as he drops to his knees with a face full of pain as he stared at Annabeth. I grit my teeth at the pain through my heart, but I shake my head, telling myself to deal with it later. Luke then suddenly rasps out,
"Knife! Hurry, get the knife!"
I feel insanely confused for a moment before I shoot up and grab Annabeth's knife that she had been disarmed from. When I turn back, Luke is stripping off armor with the help of a tear filled face of Annabeth, and so I shoot back and kneel in front of Luke.
"Hurry, I need to get to my mortal point!" He rasps out again, taking off his chestplate and shirt and making Annabeth light up red at the most inappropriate place and time possible, but also giving my heart a pang of jealousy at the look she gave him. Wait, did he say his mortal point?
I shook the thought out from my head before shoving the knife handle into his hand and nodding at him stoically. Luke stared at the knife for a moment before taking a breath in and shoving the knife straight at under his left armpit before his eyes flashed back to gold, signaling Kronos was back in control. I grunted as I pushed Annabeth back roughly with my left arm while using my right to push the handle against Kronos trying to push it back out.
"You fools! You think I would let you destroy me that easily?! That was nothing!" He panted out. He looked like he just ran twenty miles in thirty minutes and so I used that to my advantage and pushed as hard as I could, grunting at I put my all into the push. Kronos on the other hand was trying to push back at the knife and keep it away from his mortal point. But now I had an advantage from the effort he put into getting back into control of Luke's body and now maintaining it.
I yelled out in aggravation as I pushed harder as I felt Kronos's arm slowly give more and more before it gave completely.
And I sliced a thin line onto Kronos's mortal point.
The titan roared in agony as a gold glow shone off Luke's body, shooting out in all directions before suddenly vanishing and a small thump could be heard. I quickly open my eyes as I look at Luke, facedown on the floor. My eyes widen as I rush over to Luke and flip him over before pressing on the side of his neck to feel something, anything!
And I do. I feel the slight thumping of his pulse on his neck. I chuckle softly before Annabeth cries happily, glad to know that he is still alive. Slowly, but surely, Luke's eyes flutter open as it shows the all natural blue color they should always have been. No gold in sight. I give out a small sigh of relief as Annabeth hugs Luke's slightly conscious body. Then a loud bang comes from behind me and I quickly swivel my head to find out what the noise was, only to find the Olympians, Thalia, the hunters left over from the battle, the campers left over from the battle, and the traitorous demigods as prisoners of war in shackles shuffling along behind them all.
I give a slight smile and stand up.
"The war is over. Nobody more needs to die." I said to the crowd, looking around as the Olympians head to their respective thrones and the demigods and goddesses cheer in celebration. Only the traitor demigods stood silent among the crowd.
I see Thalia glace over at Annabeth and Luke, the former helping the now fully conscious latter into a sitting position. The lieutenant shook her head and walked over to me and said,
"So Kelp Head. I see you and Luke are alive and well. What happened here?" She had asked. I hesitated for a moment before telling her the story. Better to get it over with quickly then have to relive it later. The only part I had skipped was when Annabeth told Luke that she loved him. Thalia stared at me for a moment before sighing and putting a hand on my shoulder before walking away, letting me know that she was there if I needed her to be. Honestly, I was thankful for that. It was good to know my cousin was still there to help, even if she was a co-leader in a group of man-haters.
