The Endar Spire was on its last legs. In a matter of minutes, they would be overrun by the Sith fleet. Sadly, this had become commonplace for Carth Onasi, as more and more of the Republic Navy defected to the forces of Darth Revan, and his insidious apprentice, Darth Malak. It destroyed him, knowing that even his closest ally and mentor, Admiral Saul Karath, had decided to betray the Republic for the sake of his own safety. What a fucking coward, he thought to himself, reminiscing on his old commanding officer. While he understood how powerful Revan was, he could never understand how the legendary Jedi gave in so easily to the darkness. As much as he wanted to confront his own thoughts, now was not the time.

Rushing to the bridge, Carth ran towards the captain. "We need to evacuate the Endar Spire immediately!" he shouted, a sense of urgency in his voice. "Revan and Malak want to capture the Jedi Bastilla, in order to use her Battle Meditation against us. We must hurry to ensure her escape!" Rushing to find the young woman, Carth scrambled across the ship, searching every corner of the extensive ship. Nearing the opposite side of the ship, the young pilot panicked. There, right before him, was Darth Revan, Dark Lord of the Sith engaged in a duel with the Jedi Knight. If Bastilla was captured, all hope of ending the war would be lost. Yet, there was nothing he could do but sit and watch.

Locked in heavy concentration, there was no way she could let her guard down. The Republic was counting on her to deal a devastating defeat to the Sith army. Taking deep breaths, she focused all her energy on the mission at hand, meditating on the current battle at hand. Although her Battle Meditation came in handy, it was useless if she lost her focus. Sensing a dark force slowly approach her cabin, Bastilla ignited her vibrant yellow lightsaber. Alerting the ship, she prepared to evacuate with the crew. Gathering her supplies into her modest satchel, she sprinted for the bridge. Hopefully, they could evade the Sith to live another day. To her horror, Bastilla was met face-to-face with the Sith. It's him, she thought to herself, fighting against the rising fear within her soul, It's Revan.

"Ah, the Jedi I've heard so much about."

Revan inched closer, hoping to frustrate the young Jedi. As a veteran of the Mandalorian Wars, and a hero of the Jedi council before he had renounced his claim to the light, he had sensed the arrogance and hypocrisy of the Jedi Council. In their hesitancy to act in the Mandalorian Wars, countless lives could have been spared, yet the Council chose to ignore the cries of the innocent dead throughout the galaxy. He could not let another bloody conquest thrive under the rule of a witless Republic. They needed to burn.

"Revan."

Bastilla sneered at him, disgusted by his untimely appearance. She knew all too well the dangers of speaking to a Sith. If she wasn't careful, he could end her in one quick flick of his saber. Yet, Bastilla could sense something else consuming the Sith Lord's thoughts. Reaching out, the young Jedi attempted to probe Revan's mind. It surprised her, that his mind was not wholly consumed by darkness. It almost seemed as if his soul was battling itself for control, a constant tug-of-war between the light and the darkness. Maybe, he was not completely lost.

"They use you as a pawn, yet you still run back to the council."

Revan knew the dangers of putting his trust in the council. Before the Mandalorian Wars, he had been their most ardent defender, despite what Treya had tried to convince him. Yet, during the war, something had changed in him. He was no longer innocent, stained by the blood of his countless victims. Revan had grown up, discerning the cowardice and lies of the esteemed Jedi Order. That is what drove him to disobey. While several casualties accumulated on both sides, he knew the cost balanced the reward. Unfortunately, the Republic did not share this insight.

Instead of rewarding the rising Jedi, they banished him from the Jedi Order, doomed to learn the ways of the force in solitude. Although most would see this as a shortcoming, Revan saw this as an opportunity to explore the darker nature of the Force, forbidden by the Jedi code. With his faithful apprentice Malak, the Jedi found countless Sith knowledge, and learned to harness both the paths of the light, and the darkness. But, the darkness has a mind of its own, and does not easily surrender to the light. Succumbing to the darkness within, Revan and Malak pledged themselves to the Sith Order. With their fates decided, the Sith Lords attacked the Republic fleet, hoping to reforge the Galactic Republic under the grand vision of the Sith. No longer would the galaxy cower in fear, waiting for their nonexistent hero to emerge. Now, he would take back his world.

"I know they say you are a master manipulator. Your cheap tricks won't work on me."

Although Bastilla knew Revan could not convince her of anything, she feared his power. The Sith Lord had the power to mince minds with a single thought.

"I don't need to trick you."

Revan knew that Bastilla had doubts about the Order. Surprisingly, he sensed her thoughts mirrored his own. The young Jedi was starting to think for herself. Offering his hand towards Bastilla, he wondered if she would renounce the light, and finally give in to the darkness tempting her soul. But it was not to be...

A sudden blast jilted the ship, knocking Bastilla and Revan to the ground. Recovering quickly, Bastilla came back to her senses. While she had her doubts about the council, she could not bring herself to forsake the only life she'd ever known. Using all of her might, she fought to restrain the Sith Lord. Fighting against the imposing forces of Darth Malak, as well as the familiar darkness growing within her soul, she struggled to keep composure. With a loud scream, Bastilla let out a powerful surge of force lightning, the power coursing through her fingertips. Fighting to stay conscious, she noticed the familiar face of a friend, Officer Onasi. With her vision blurring the world around her, the young Jedi collapsed unto the cold metal floor of the doomed vessel.
