? "You, my brave boys, are the first generation of male tankery athletes to come from this school. We will be the Ghosts on the field, we may be small, but we'll stand with the prowess of a division. We will be the Ghost Division! YOU HEAR ME YOU COWARDS!"
"JA KOMMANDANT!"
? "I CAN'T HEAR YOU!"
? "JA, KOMMANDANT LEWIS!"
? "Kommandant, a question. Our school is small, and our team big, what will we have at our disposal for tanks?"
Lewis "We will be like that of Kuromorimine, but with a twist. Back in World War 2, the Nazis had planned to build a Series of panzers that would've been known as standard panzers, which would've been faster, easier, and cheaper to build. We have 20 of these tanks at our disposal. A single E-100, four E-10s, two E-25s, three E-75s, and ten E-50s. Is that all?"
? "JA KOMMANDANT!"
Lewis "Alright, the tanks will arrive later today, so show up at 16:00 after school today, and we will get all of you in your tanks. The Tankery Instructor will show up about an hour after that. Hopefully, we can get them moving and have y'all trained up enough for a fun match with another school in this area, who knows, maybe even Ooarii. Get ready for your next class, you're dismissed."
Lewis, getting off the ladder he was giving the speech on, was grinning like mad as his speech went well. As he went to the office he stored his stuff in, he felt a tap on his shoulder. Turning to see one of the few girls that are in the sport at his school, Sylva Brenner, his younger sister.
Lewis "Hey sis, what's up?"
Sylva "Hey, I thought you said we would get Vk. 16.02s, what's up with that?"
Lewis "The manufacturer that's made our Standard Panzers would've charged more than what the school was willing to pay at this point. But if we win the next few matches we go into, we could get them."
Sylva "Huugh, man, I really wanted to ride those ones."
Lewis "Yeah, sorry about that, but it's time to get going for the next period. See you later."
Lewis "Peter, Vivian, tell me, do you think that we could stand a chance against a school like Kuromorimine? We could do well enough against all the other schools, but they're the ones that worry me the most."
Peter "As of now, I doubt we stand a chance against them, we'd probably struggle against Anzio. But if we train up the crew and get far enough into the tournament, we would stand a fighting chance."
Vivian "I am inclined to believe that of which Peter has stated, but if I had to give us a percentage of win or lose as of now, I would have to say it's around a 32% chance of winning."
Peter "All we can say is that we have to aim small and miss small. Do we have any plan on who goes into what tanks? If we can put them into groups that they are already comfortable with, then that will be the problem of them adjusting to new groups solved and prevented."
Lewis "I was thinking along the lines of letting them choose who they were in groups of. Vivian, how's the situation on the paperwork that the instructor wanted to have ready to read when she shows up?"
Vivien "I've got it all done and ready, and honestly, I'd much prefer if i could be with a E-10 or E-25 as a subcommander when it comes to tanks. The paperwork will be ready to hand to him."
Lewis "That's good to hear, as long as you can be effective with your unit, you can do what you want. I still intend on sticking in the E-50. And Peter, I think you showed the most interest in the heavys when we started this up."
Peter "Enough of that talk, what about the first match. Whom do we want to go up against?"
Vivien "I'm thinking we try to see if Pravda is willing to go up against us in a month or so. Anyways, what are you working on Lewis?"
Lewis "Bloody Geometry, it sucks, and just has no real use in the real world, but I need it for aerospace engineering."
Vivien "That's understandable, but what's in the little box you got there?"
Lewis "I'm in the school band, a trumpeter. That's what's in the box. Anyways, we got 10 minutes till the tanks arrived. Get everyone that is going to be in your respective vehicle class together. Tell them to have an idea for call signs."
Peter "Will do, and the tanks will be here on trucks right?"
Lewis "Yes, the trucks are all flat beds. The E-100 is going to be in two parts, the chassis and the turret."
Vivien ``Ohhhh yeah, who's the instructor from the JSF? ? Wasn't he a veteren from that crisis a few years ago?"
Lewis "His name was Grizwald, and he was a sergeant. He should be able to give us all great advice."
Lewis "Alright, so y'all in front of me are going to work with me in the E-50s, correct? *head nods* All right, our segment will be known as Hunter 3-x, The x being whatever order in skill we determine y'all to be. However, my tank will be known, no matter what, is Hunter 3-1. Our E-10s and E-25s will be known as Hunter 2-x, with Hunter 2-1 being Vivien's tank. Peters tank will be known as Hunter 1-1, and so on and so forth. Now for the next important thing I would like to bring up, upgrades to the tanks. As most of you know, we can only upgrade our tanks with stuff that the tank could've had. For example, the Pz. 3 was originally equipped with a 37mm gun, and since we can prove that it was equipped with either a 50mm or short 75mm cannon, Pz. 3s with those cannons are allowed."
Sylvia "Sir, say if we do find an upgrade to the E-50, how will it be applied to the team as a whole?"
Lewis "Good question. Say we learnt that the E-50 was planned to have an, lets say, an autoloading 88mm gun. We'd have some of our tanks get equipped with those guns, cause an auto loader takes longer to load once the clip is out. The same would happen if we learnt the E-75 had a 128mm gun, we'd have 1 or 2 of them get those guns. Anything else?"
? "SIR NO SIR!"
Lewis "Alright, now go and get to your tanks, we have a test for you to go through to determine numbering in our squad."
? "SIR YES SIR!"
He watched as his crews moved out in their groups to the tanks they were assigned to, and the four that stayed behind got into his tank with the four that remained behind.
Lewis "Alright, Gustavo, get the engine started. Alexis, is our radio tuned to 43 MHz."
The engines started growling to life on tank at a time, and Gustavo driving the command tank to a point Lewis marked out on a digital map, and the rest followed suit.
Peter "ALRIGHT MAGGOTS, WE ARE GOING TO TRAIN YOU FOOLS UP INTO LEAN, GREEN, KILLING MACHINES, YOU HEAR ME!"
? "YES SUBCOMMANDER PETER!"
Peter "Alright, load into your tanks and have radios tuned to 45 MHz. Have your engines started and ready to go at a moment's notice. Will be proceeding in 5 minutes."
Vivien "Alright, everyone find your groups and enter the right thanks for your group. Set your radios to 41 MHz. Alright?"
? "Okay?"
Vivien "Come on, with confidence!"
? "MAMN YES MAMN!"
Lewis "Alright, are y'all still doing what we planned?"
Vivien/Peter "Yes Commander, our groups are in position."
Lewis "Alright, let's start the set up. Sergeant Grizwald, you on this frequency? We're starting our first training."
Sergeant Grizwald "WHY HELLO THERE! It's me, Sergeant Grizwald. Yes, I'm here, and in the helicopter watching the performance, initiate the match already."
Lewis "Roger that, Vivien, Peter, prepare to start."
Lewis, opening up the turret, fires a green flare, signaling the start of the match.
Lewis "E-50s, move out to point A4C1G5. Set up defensive positions around the hill there, and the three that I said to move to point B4A1A1, and be ready to move to flank enemies that may decide to attack our positions. Maintain silence once we get to point by shutting down the engines. "
? "JA KOMANDANT LEWIS!"
