Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter. J. K. Rowling does.
Harry Potter was very confused. He had just been taken down from the Great Hall by a very excited caretaker, Argus Filch and his snobby cat Mrs Norris to see the new DADA professor, Umbridge. Umbridge was a squat little woman who looked like a toad with a very flabby face, wide, slack mouth and such little neck that Uncle Vernon's neck would be put to shame. Harry had rarely seen Filch in a better mood. As they walked towards Umbridge's office he sneered, " You nasty lot wouldn't be setting of dungbombs and breaking the rules now if you thought you would be whipped,". He thrust the piece of parchment into Harry's hand. Harry looked at it. The parchment read: By order of the High Inquisitor, the Hogwarts discipline system is changed and the 237 Hogwarts rule is now in affect. Signed: Dolores Jane Umbridge, Hogwarts High Inquisitor. Harry looked stunned. "I,ve been waiting for months now," said Filch gleefully. "I still polish them but I'll have to replace the chains, there're getting rusted." Just the they arrived at Umbridge's office and Filch knocked. "The Potter boy as you requested ," Filch wheezed to Umbridge who had just opened her door.
"Thank you Argus," said Umbridge said. "Come in,"said Umbridge opening the door for Harry. "You may go," she added to Filch who bowed low and walked away down the corridor.
Harry entered and looked around the office. Not much had changed when he had last entered this office, with its sickening pink wallpapers and kittens with bows prancing about. The small, pink desk was littered with papers and hair bows. The only thing that had changed was the pink desk which now had a small, neat, pink plaque that read: Headmistress. "Take a seat, then, "she said, pointing a very stubby finger at the straight-backed chair behind her desk. Harry sat down apprehensively. "Well," Umbridge said. "I was thinking of having a little chat, after our former headmaster's departure."
"I don't think that there's anything to discuss," Harry said bluntly.
"I will decide on that Mr. Potter," she replied with her annoying voice. "Here, what would you like to drink?" she asked suddenly.
"Sorry?" said Harry, thinking he must have heard wrong.
"I asked what you would like to drink," repeated Umbridge. "Coffee, Pumpkin juice or tea?"
"Errrm, coffee please, Harry said uncomfortably. Umbridge busied herself with the coffee, making quite a show of adding the sugar and milk with a little teaspoon.
"Drink up, " she said sweetly. Harry raised his lips to the cup when he caught sight of a small bottle in her hand. Harry looked at it and then looked at his coffee. Wasn't the clear substance veritaserum? Harry looked up to see Umbridge smiling at him cruelly. "Drink," she said, pointing her finger. Harry only pretended to drink, biting his lip very hard. "Would you to tell me anything Mr. Potter ?" she said suddenly, looking at him very closely.
"Yes, actually I would like to to tell you something," Harry said suddenly, having a stroke of inspiration. "This is for your cough," Harry said happily, reaching out into his pocket robe and taking out a dirty packet of cough drops and putting it onto the table in front of Umbridge's face.
"I don't think I need them thanks, " she said coldly.
"But professor! These will cure your cough!" Harry protested.
"Hem hem ," she said "I think I would know if I had a cough Mr. Potter.
"You just coughed! " Harry protested again.
"That is an act of dignity," she said haughtily.
"You might cough your lungs out though!" Harry said, faking nervousness.
"Excuse me?" Umbridge said, her voice so high that soon he might not even be to hear her voice.
"You know, " Harry said casually, " if you cough too much eventually your lungs will get sore and you'll cough up blood.
"I think I will actually take these cough drops," Umbridge said suddenly very nervous. "After all, the Headmistress can't afford to cough out her lungs now, can she? And she promptly opened that packet and almost shoved the cough drop into her mouth. She choked at the rotting smell of them."Now," said Umbridge when she had stopped coughing. "Where is Sirius Black? ".
"I dunno," Harry said a little tad quickly. "You're not drinking up Mr. Potter! " she said. Harry pretended to drink again. Suddenly, she grabbed the mug in Harry's hand and forced it down his throat. Harry swallowed and immediately a sort of burn trickled down his throat. He felt a strong inclination to tell Umbridge the truth. He could feel his mouth slacken and his eyes mist over.
"Now then," Umbridge said sweetly. "Where is Sirius Black?"
"Number twelve, Grimmauld Place, London," Harry said immediately with a toneless voice. Umbridge then proceeded to ask Harry questions from what he thought of Dumbledore's beard to what the Order of the Phoenix was. On and on she asked him questions and he was forced to answer. Once she had gotten enough information, she promptly stunned him and locked him away in her hidden torture cupboards. She then took a pinch of floo powder, spilling the whole lot in her excitement at finally being able to catch Sirius Black. She said the address and span away in her office fireplace.
At 12, Grimmauld Place, London a fireplace suddenly lit up with green flames, startling the man who was sitting behind a shabby looking table. "Stupefy!" Sirius Black shouted, pointing his oak wand at Umbridge. " What should I do with her?" Sirius thought. " I know, I'll obliviate her and plant a false memory!". He grinned. He knew exactly what the memory would be.
Umbridge got groggily to her feet, looking around at her surroundings. She was in her office which was strange because she remembered flooring to, to where? She couldn't remember the location either. She racked her brain hard. What had happened? All of a sudden the memories came back to her. She remembered pink and only pink. She looked at the pink wallpapers and screamed loudly, running out of her office. Never again did she want to see the colour pink! She ran straight into a dark cupboard outside her corridor and whimpered, knowing that she would have nightmares about this for days to come.
The end.
