AN: Well this is my take on Jaune is a Jedi. I hope that I don't get railed by the reviews. If you have any more info to give me please pm me or leave a review.
In a tall mountain an operation of mass proportions is taking place. Inside there are many masked individuals moving weapons, containers, and explosives. The noticeable thing about these individuals is that they have different animal appendages ranging from ears, tails, claws, and many more. They are preparing for something big as the days pass on more and more materials arrive. Although one day there would be an event that would change this.
An animal had snuck into the weapons storage inside of the mountain and was being chased by an individual that had noticeable wolf ears.
"Come here little guy. I swear I won't harm you." he huffed out as he chased a small dog with black fur on the top of his body and white fur on the bottom.
It continued to run before it stopped as the ground started to shake violently. The man also stopped as he was thrown to the ground while he braced himself. While the ground shaked he was able to crawl to the dog and grabbed it. Before he could celebrate the ground underneath them opened up and they both fell.
The man clutched on to the dog as he yelled while falling. He was falling for a good time before he saw what appeared to be a glass floor quickly approaching. He closed his eyes and clenched his teeth as he impacted against the glass and fell through.
He landed on a metal plate underneath the glass floor. He rolled to his side as he let the small dog go. He exhaled a pained breath as he saw the shape of the dog over his face, it proceeded to lick him. He chuckled as he felt it tickling his cheek. He got off the floor slowly and stood up while taking out a flashlight.
He walked through what seemed to be a storage facility as he would illuminate strange looking containers. Walking through the area he bumped his foot against something. Looking down he saw what appeared to be some form of armour but it was far more advanced than anything he has ever seen come out of Atlas. Although he might not know as he only recently joined his organization.
He bent down to pick up the helmet but as he removed it he almost yelled. The dog walked up next to him and looked up at him confused. He walked around the helmetless suit and sat next to a skull.
The man placed the helmet on a black rectangular container and as he removed his hand he brushed against a control panel. He yelped as it sparked and decided that it would be best to continue walking. He looked at the dog and motioned his head forward. The dog got up quickly wagging his tail as he followed the wolf eared man.
While exiting the storage facility they were unaware of the black container as it started to release air and the shape of a figure could be made out. As the two walked down a hallway they saw many doors that would lead to rooms but the doors were either locked or already opened. As he continued walking he saw the dog stop moving and face into a room. He looked into the room the dog was facing and he could barely make out a blue glow.
He saw the dog walk in and spoke, "No wait come back."
The small dog ignored him and continued to walk towards the blue glow as the man gave an exasperated sigh. He quickly caught up to the dog and what he saw surprised him. He saw a man wearing a white armour and a brown hooded robe over it. He also noticed that he had cream skin with blonde hair.
The thing that caught him off guard was that the man seemed to be suspended in ice as when he touched the glass it was cold, extremely cold. He stood in front of the control panel on the front and pressed a button that was blinking red. He looked up at the figure and saw that the ice was turning into a liquid and slowly draining.
He breathed a sigh of relief as he was correct in his guess although he rubbed his head as he thought something, 'What type of language was that? It almost looked alien.'
He stopped thinking when the glass window lifted up and the figure stumbled forward. He ran up to him and caught him while the dog walked back. He supported the figure as he found a bench and they both sat on it.
He waited a few minutes as the man was groaning and rubbing his eyes. The robed man started to cough, the masked man quickly took out his canteen and gave it to him.
"Thank you." he responded his voice young
After he drank he returned the canteen. There was a brief period of silence before the masked man spoke, "My name is Jacob Mar."
The robed man looked at him and nodded, "Jacob, that's a strange name, but I've heard a stranger." the man ruffled his blonde hair and finally opened his eyes. He looked at Jacob with his cobalt blue eyes.
"Unfortunately I do not remember my name as I seem to have been in cryo hibernation for a long time." he responded solemnly.
Jacob nodded as his ears fell flat against his head. Before he could say anything he heard a bark in front of him and saw the white dog holding something in his maw. It was a mix between a satchel and a pack. Jacob went to pick it up but the man lifted his hand and he somehow brought the dog and the pack over to him as if it was telepathically.
Jacob blinked as he saw the blonde man ruffle the dogs fur as he looked over the pack. Jacob looked over and saw that the pack had a name written on it.
"Jaune," he said out loud.
The blonde man nodded as he continued to scratch the head of the dog, "It appears that that's my name."
"But how are you sure?" Jacob asked
"Because a Jedi never forgets what his weapon looks like." The now named Jaune responded as he pulled out a 20 inch cylinder with buttons, knobs, and levers on the side. There were openings on each side but he raised an eyebrow as he didn't know why those were there.
Jaune then placed his hand on top of the dog's head and closed his eyes. The dog stopped panting and closed his mouth as he looked up at Jaune. Jacob was confused at the sudden change in attitude as he looked at Jaune but then he opened his eyes and the dog started to bark happily.
"I thank you Zwei for helping me retrieve my belongings." Jaune said as Zwei barked happily.
"How did you find out what the dog's name is?" Jacob asked him
"Through the force all beings are able to communicate to each other. I simply spoke to him through a small connection I did by placing my hand on his head." Jaune replied as he got up.
Jacob saw Jaune walk out of the room with Zwei following behind him. Jacob got up quickly and followed him.
"Where are you going?"
"To the bridge. I need to know how long I was asleep for and where I'm located." Jaune responded as Jacob catched up to him.
They entered the bridge and Jacob was surprised at how big it was, Jaune on the other hand had a solemn stare as he looked at the damaged bridge. He shook his head and walked over to a circular table. He pressed some buttons and the table whirred to life. Jacob walked next to him and was amazed at how clear the projection was.
"First time seeing a hologram?"
Jacob turned to face Jaune as he had a small smile. "Well yeah, the only other place that I can think of that has tech like this is Atlas."
Jaune nodded at his answer as he looked for the galactic calendar. When he found it and saw the date his eyes widened. He blinked and read it again only for his footing to falter. Jacob rushed to his side and helped him up.
"Impossible."
Jacob was able to hear this with his wolf ears and was just confused, "What's impossible?"
"I have been in cryogenic hibernation for 300 years." Jaune responded
"What do you mean?"
"My ship left Coruscant in the year 24,748 but after a battle we crash landed on this planet. Before I crash landed my soldiers were able to put me in a cryogenic hibernation pod in case a rescue ship came by." Jaune said
"Ok but what does that have to do with anything?"
"The year is 25,048," Jaune responded, "I have been alive for almost 318 years."
Jaune turned off the hologram and stared at the black screen. Jacob was standing next to zwei as he was surprised to hear that that was the year. Surely this man must be confused.
"Um you must be mistaken, the year is currently 2439." Jacob said
"That's expected."
"What?"
He saw Jaune look over to him and he spoke, "Planets in the Outer Rim are known to have different time stamps compared to planets in the core of the galaxy."
He rubbed his face and looked back at the table before turning it back on. "I'm just surprised that this planet is rather young."
Jacob felt his legs go weak, while he reached out for a chair. All this time he saw his world belief crashing down. The planet he was on was young compared to other planets?
"This is very interesting."
He looked up at Jaune as he looked at a hologram of the planet. He saw him press some buttons on the panel and it enlarged on their position. He saw Mt Glenn but it then magnified and went underneath the mountain. His eyes widened at what he saw.
He saw a ship that looked like a sideways T, it had three large thrusters on the back with the shaft going out to the sides towards the engines as it narrowed towards the front. On top of the ship it rounded out towards the engines. He gulped at the size of the ship he was currently sitting in was revealed.
He then saw that the image zoomed in on the side as it magnified on what appeared to be the hangar bay. He saw Jaune nod as he zoomed out and saw that through the map he planned out a course to leave the ship and exit through the side of the mountain.
Jacob saw Jaune zoom out as he got a planetary view. Jaune typed something in and the map zoomed in on a large continent that was in the shape of a dragon head and highlighted a section of land.
Jacob raised an eyebrow before speaking, "Why did you zoom in on the grimm lands?"
"Excuse me?" Jaune responded calmly as he was shaken out of his stupor
"Why did you zoom in on the grimm lands? Do you want a death wish or something?"
"No, I merely just imputed where there is a probability of finding oil in that area."
"What's oil?"
"It's what I need to fuel up my ship."
"You're going to the grimm lands to get fuel for this massive ship?!" Jacob exclaimed while standing up.
"No the cruiser uses Ion engines so it would use a different power source. I'm thinking of using my personal starfighter and it would most likely need fuel."
"Ok but what are you going to do about the cruiser."
"I'm going to destroy it." Jaune said with hardened eyes.
"Why?!"
"The engine's power source is cracked and as it stands it can't be repaired. There is also the risk that your little group might find the ship and take the weapons from it or try to use the technology. After all you are domestic terrorists am I not wrong?"
"How do you know?" Jacob asked surprised
"While we were talking I used the force to reach out and feel any presence in the area. I felt a large amount of people above us and judging from the fact you have an appearance that yells danger it's not that hard to figure it out."
"Then why didn't you attack me?" Jacob asked as he got a defensive stance.
"Because you have a kind soul." Jaune said with a small smile.
"What?" Jacob said as his stance faltere
"You heard me, it's because you have a kind soul," he told him as he got closer, "This time I spent with you has let me learn somethings about you, the main thing though is that you have a compassion that is very strong."
"Why do you say that?"
Jaune sighed and he took another step closer to him, "Through the force I was able to feel what your motives with the dog were once you found him. Instead of killing it like many others might do you were going to find it's owners and return him."
Jaune took another step closer to him, "There is also the fact that instead of attacking me when I woke up, you took your time to help me regain my bearings and trusting that I wouldn't harm you."
Jaune took one last step towards him and was face to face with him, "But the final thing is that you didn't join because you wanted to cause harm, you joined because you thought you would be making the world a better place and impacting it in a good way. You are someone that wants to see the best in themself and is someone who strives to do the right thing."
He finished and removed the mask from his face. He was met with red eyes that were on the verge of tears. Jaune looked into Jacob's eyes and all he could see was a child that yearned for their mother's help and guidance. Jaune placed his hand on his shoulder but he felt Jacob's body collide against his. He felt two arms wrap around him and some water fall on his boot.
Jaune patted his head and made sure not to touch his ears. Jacob let go of him and uttered a low thanks. Jaune looked at him and shook his head. 'How is it that a fourteen year old got pushed to join such a movement.'
He looked at Jacob and spoke, "When we leave this place you are to return home to your family and ask for forgiveness. You will strive to help not through violence but through words. After all, the pen is mightier than the sword."
Jacob chuckled at that and the two walked towards the hangar, but not before Jaune could rig the engine to self-destruct in ninety minutes. He looked one last time at the bridge with a somber look. He looked back on all the time he spent with his men on this ship conversing, fighting, bantering, and having a good time. He nodded and muttered, "May the force be with you all as you look for it in your time of passing." With that he left the bridge.
Some time walking through the ship Jacob was talking with Jaune, "So what's the classification of this ship?"
"This is the Hammerhead-class cruiser. Considered one of the best cruisers during the wars it has since seen less and less action. I used it as my main flagship as it is reliable and not too menacing."
"Ok what's space like?"
"Well it at times can be empty with a calm tranquility, other times it can be beautiful when we pass by some of its inhabitants and planets or when we pass by many phenomena."
"I wish I could go to space." Jacob said glumly
"In time when I have better resources and a larger ship I will return and I might take you with me."
"Really?" Jacob asked
"Yes but only if you return to your parents and leave this organization."
"I think the white fang thinks I'm dead." Jacob responded calmly
"Then that makes your retirement the more possible."
Jacob nodded and asked one last question, "What is the force?"
Jaune smiled as he was waiting for that question and spoke, "The force is an energy field that binds all living things together. From the smallest insect to the biggest planet the force is connected in some form or way."
"Ok but that doesn't explain how you said you can use it."
"That is true. I am a Jedi, a Jedi knight to be precise. The way I use the force is as my ally, by having a calm state of mind I let the force wrap around me and accept me. The way I can use the force depends on how I can incorporate it or how it can help me by not inflicting pain on others."
"That sounds cool! Is there a possibility that I can use the force?" Jacob asked excitedly as his ears went straight.
"I'm afraid not as you weren't born force sensitive," he saw Jacob gain a downcast look, "Although there is a chance that you are I'm not 100% positive as I'm a little rusty at sensing latent force users."
Jacob smiled again but before he could speak again they entered the hangar. Jacob was amazed at how many ships there were. He was about to run in but Jaune placed a hand in front of him. Jacob looked up and saw that Jaune had a dangerous look in his eyes as he looked forward in the hangar.
"Jacob I want you to hide with Zwei behind that crate. Only come out when I tell you to come out. Is that understood." Jaune's voice had an authoritative tone as he continued to look forward.
Jacob nodded slowly while picking up Zwei and doing as they were told.
Jaune then walked forward some more and looked in front of him, "Come out I know you're there sith." he spoke calmly
At first there was no response but then someone moved out from behind a damaged ship. Jaune stared at the black robed man as he walked up and stood twenty feet in front of Jaune.
"It appears that you are still alive, Jedi." a deep distorted voice spoke out
"Why wouldn't I be alive after all this time, after all my crew placed me in cryo-sleep after we sealed you in carbonite."
Jaune could feel the hooded man's anger grow after that light jab.
"Yet you and I are the only survivors after all these years. Tell me how does it feel to walk among the corpses of your crew, knowing that you were powerless to save them."
"They sacrificed their life to save me and I will not sullen their sacrifice lamenting on what could have happened. What's done is done." Jaune responded mindful to not let his anger and grief get the better of him.
"Then tell me, what will you do if I kill the wolf and dog you sent to hide? Surely you must have created a sort of bond with the wolf-boy."
Jaune pulled out his lightsaber and held it to his side igniting it as a blue blade came out of one end.
"Then I will protect him until my last breath." Jaune responded
"So be it." The hooded man responded as he took out two lightsabers one in each hand and ignited them facing towards the ground. The red blades glowing ominously as Jaune continued to stare at him.
Jaune kept his stance and waited for the sith to strike. While doing so he noticed that the blade would crack every now and then. "One last battle, old friends." Jaune whispered. He felt the kyber crystals hum in response weakly through his connection to the force.
The sith took that moment and lunged at him, his left arm swinging forward. Jaune brought his lightsaber and blocked the blow, he then brought his lightsaber to his right side to block the second blow.
He twisted around his body and went to strike downwards but the sith blocked it with both of his lightsabers. Jaune jumped back but the sith pressed his advantage as he brought his lightsabers in an x in front of him hoping to strike. Jaune brought his lightsaber up and blocked the attack.
They were in a standstill with the sith pushing Jaune back. Jaune gritted his teeth as he was pushed back, his lightsaber crackling even more straining to keep it's form. Jaune heard the chuckle the sith gave out as he awaited for Jaine to falter.
Jaune in a split second kicked at the side of the sith's armored leg as it went sideways. The sith gave a pained expression. As he was momentarily stunned. Jaune capitalized on this and deactivated his lightsaber.
The sith stumbled forward as Jaune spun around him and stood behind him. He ignited the blade again but this time it came out the other end and in a vice grip he swung across the sith's body.
Fwwiissh
He heard the sith groan and the two red lightsabers deactivated and fell on the ground. Jaune activated the other end of the blade. He held it in front of him as both blades crackled.
He saw the sith turn to face him, and he only said three words, "Well played Jedi."
With that the sith fell to the ground face first, dead. Jaune exhaled and his lightsaber deactivated although not willingly. He looked at his lightsaber and sighed, "So long old friends."
The last remaining thing he had of his old crew and life was gone. Before he called Jacob and Zwei out of their hiding spot he used the force to sense if the sith was still alive. He breathed a sigh of relief as he was dead.
"You can come out now." he yelled.
The container's lid lifted up slowly, Jacob surveyed the area quickly and left with Zwei still in hand. He walked towards Jaune but he held a hand out. Jacob raised an eyebrow before Jaune spoke, "I'm going to do something that might risk my I open my eyes and if they are yellow instead of blue I want you to run as fast as you can through the predetermined route. Understood?"
"Yes." Jacob responded fearful
Jaune nodded and sat with his legs crossed and his eyes closed. Jacob was confused but then he saw that Jaune's lightsaber float in the air before disassembling. He saw two grey crystals with cracks in them. Those crystals then floated into Jaune's brown robes.
Jacob then saw two objects float from behind the dead man in front of Jaune. Just like Jaune's lightsabers they disassembled but two red crystals float out. Jacob covered his wolf ears as he heard the crystals shrieking. He looked down and saw Zwei do the same thing as he covered his ears with his paws.
Jacob looked up and saw that Jaune was fighting the crystals' influence as they were glowing brightly. The crystals glow continued to intensify as it became blinding but in a flash of light. Jacob pulled Zwei in and used his body to protect him from the flash as he turned to not face it.
When that was done Jacob opened his eyes and saw that the once red crystals were glowing a brilliant white. The two crystals floated into Jaune's lightsaber as it reassembled. Jacob held Zwei in his chest as he waited for the moment of truth.
He saw that the cylinder floated back onto the floor. Jaune opened his eyes and they were still his calm cobalt blue eyes. Jacob breathed a sigh of relief and let go of Zwei, which immediately rushed to Jaune as it began to lick him affectionately.
Jaune chuckled as he petted the small dog and picked up his lightsaber.
He saw Jacob run up to him and hug him. He let go and stood in front of him.
"What did you do?" he asked
"I purified the kyber crystals that belonged to the sith. I was able to do this through the force and the crystals accepted me."
"What do you mean they accepted you and purifying?"
"The weapon of the Jedi or the lightsaber is powered by kyber crystals. When the time arrives for younglings to create their lightsaber they must go through a set of challenges. Only after these challenges are done will a kyber crystal reach out through the force for their chosen wielder."
Jaune paused and looked at Jacob as he nodded.
"Purifying comes when you take a red kyber crystal and you basically do as the name implies with the force. There have been rare instances where the crystal is so heavily turned that it will have a jedi turn to the dark side."
"Understood?"
"Yes." Jacob responded
"Good. Now we must hurry as the ship will self-destruct in approximately twenty minutes."
Jacob nodded and the three of them walked towards Jaune's ship. On the way Jaune picked up some materials for his journey. The important things were a portable oil refinery, food rations, a knife, and water.
The two of them then stood in front of Jaune's ship and Jacob was surprised. He expected something big that he would see in tv shows or comics but instead it was a crystal shaped ship. It had an oval glass that would go over what he assumed was the cockpit. There was a blue stripe going from the tip of the ship to the end of it. Overall he was unimpressed.
Jacob saw that Jaune jumped into the cockpit and retracted the landing gear. Jacob expected the ship to hit the ground unceremoniously but instead there were four striped pads that turned on and the ship started to float.
He was amazed at this. Jaune jumped down from the cockpit and stood next to him. "I modified the ship so then it has a floating function if the landing struts are broken. The great thing is that it doesn't use fuel as it incorporates technology from speeders."
"What's her name?"
"It has no name."
"What's the ship model?"
"Aurek class tactical starfighter."
"Then name it aurora"
"The name needs some workshopping."
Jacob deadpanned and saw that Jaune walked next to the ship and he rolled out two long vehicles. The nose extended forward as it covered a turbine connected to the body. The body had two throttles on its side and a seat in the middle, and there were struts coming from the sides beneath the seat. Behind the seat there were two packs are located.
Jacob marvelled at the design of the vehicle. One was blue with white while the other was white red. He saw that Jaune pulled a cable from the back of the one with the blue stripe. He connected the cable to the front of the ship and tugged to make sure it was steady.
Jaune nodded and got on his speeder. He looked at Jacob then at the other speeder.
The ship suddenly shook and Jaune looked at Jacob, "Get on the speeder!"
Jacob pointed at the speeder next to Jaune.
"Yes! Hurry, the ship will self-destruct in ten minutes." Jaune told him
"I've never ridden something like that!" Jacob said as he picked up Zwei and placed him in one of the side pouches and got on.
"Learn as you go, now come one!" Jaune said as he sped off pulling the ship
Jacob placed his hands on the handles and pushed forward. The speeder came to life and sped forward. Jacob, surprised by the start, almost fell off but he got a better grip and sat down again. He pushed the throttle more and caught up to Jaune.
The two were coming up on a wall with a hole the size of a person. Jaune accelerated more and Jacob followed but was anxious.
"Jaune! We're going to crash." Jacob yelled panicked
Jaune didn't respond as he pressed a button on the side of the handles. The speeder then released a volley of blaster bolts from the sides of the hood and it made a hole in the wall that was big enough for them to fit through.
They both went through the hole and entered a tunnel. As they rode through the tunnel Jacob could see light starting to appear on the other side. He laughed as they continued to get closer to it.
He accelerated to catch up to Jaune in case there was a cave in. Jacob was next to him and he laughed as they exited the tunnel and entered a plains on the other side. The two of them continued to ride until Jaune pulled his arm up and made a fist signalling them to brake.
Jacob nodded and pulled back on the handles but instead of doing it slowly he brought them back all the way and the speeder stopped abruptly. Jacob lurched forward and got a face full of metal as the speeder stooped.
He looked up and saw that Jaune was trying not to laugh as he covered his mouth. Jacob's ears fell flat against his head in embarrassment.
Jaune got off his speeder and helped Jacob get off.
"Hey Jacob"
"Yeah?"
"How tall is this mountain?"
"I would say around three thousand nine hundred meters to four thousand meters from what my boss told me. Why?"
"Just curious is all."
After those words left Jaune's mouth there was an explosion. Jacob turned around to face the mountain and his eyes widened. He saw that the base of the mountain crumpled and shook from the blast as pieces started to fall off. Then another bigger explosion went off and the mountain exploded from the ground up in a show of colors as there was lightning going off and fire everywhere.
What was once the tall and mighty mountain stood a pile of smoldering rock going up one-thousand meters in the air.
Jacob looked at Jaune as he spoke, "The first explosion must have been a war head from inside the ship going off. The second explosion was definitely the engine but I expected the mountain to collapse a little and sink, not completely be destroyed. What happened?"
He looked at Jacob as he heard him cough. He had a sheepish smile as he scratched the back of his head, "There may or may not have been large amounts of dust and explosives above the ship for it to cause a chain reaction."
Jaune sighed as he ruffled Jacob's hair. "All right then other than unforeseen factors I say that was success. Now let's get you home."
Jacob brightened up and mounted his speeder. He moved the handle but the speeder jerked forward and he fell off. He grumbled and got on it again, this time the speeder would move but stop suddenly and jerk back and forth.
Jacob got a little angry and throttled forward but the speeder jerked forward and was kicked off the speeder as if it were a bucking bull as he tasted dirt.
"What gives?" he yelled frustrated, "I was able to ride the speeder just fine before, why can't I now?"
"It could be because of your adrenaline and the hurry to leave the base of the mountain that your body instinctively knew how to ride it."
"Well that's just dandy." Jacob responded as he got up and walked over to the speeder.
"Well I was expecting to arrive at your village at sunset but it seems we will be arriving much later than that." Jaune mumbled as he walked over to Jacob ready to teach him how to ride a speeder.
After some time Jaune and Jacob rode up to a town on the outskirts of the plains. Jaune saw that the small town was being protected by a reinforced wooden wall with men positioned in key locations.
Jaune held his fist up and motioned for Jacob to stop. Jacob was confused at this sudden decision.
Jaune turned around and spoke to him, "We may have to leave the speeders here as there is a chance that the guards might take them along with my ship."
"Then what do you propose that we do?" Jacob asked, "I can't enter as I have the white fang uniform on and you have that robe covering your armour. We can't just walk in as if the guards are blind."
Jaune coughed as his cheeks reddened a little. Jacob deadpanned as his ears fell against his head pointing to his sides.
"Look, the possibility completely escaped me," Jaune defended himself, "Either way you said that huntsman wore armor right? So if I claim I'm a huntsman then they will most likely let me in."
"They must be incredibly stupid or drunk to let you in."
They both looked at the guards through the bush as Zwei popped his head out with his tongue out panting. The two of them looked at each other and nodded.
"Now give me your damn robe." Jacob said with an outstretched hand
As Jaune and Jacob walked up to the front gate they talked amongst themselves. "This is never going to work!" Jacob whispered
"Calm yourself, as long as you follow the script then we can enter without any problem." Jaune said calmly as he knocked on the gate.
They waited sometime and a small hatch opened up. Jaune saw the outline of a man through the hatch. Then he spoke, "What business do you have with the town of Ventura."
"While out on a "hunt" I found this poor boy who got separated from his family when they left to visit the main city. He had no clothes, was in need of food, and he wanted to see his family again." Jaune responded
The man got a good look at Jaune then at Jacob before speaking again, "Mind telling me your name then huntsman."
"I'm Jaune."
"Last name." The man said
Jaune blanked as he wasn't expecting this to happen. He heard a stifled snicker from next to him. He looked through the hatch and tried to see the names of the surrounding stores. He saw many names before one stuck to him.
"Arc." he responded
"Hmph didn't know the prestigious Arc clan had a son." the man said surprised
"Well now you know." Jaune responded as the hatch closed and the gate opened
As the two entered the town Jacob looked up at Jaune, "Did you remember your last name?"
"No I just improvised." He said as he pointed at a shop.
Jacob looked at where he pointed and he had to slap himself from fainting. Jaune was pointing at a shop that said "ARC-BOLT electronics parts and workshop."
Jacob turned and punched Jaune on his shoulder but held his fist after.
"What is that armor made of?"
"Secret." Jaune said with a finger to his lips.
"Oh Ha Ha!," Jacob responded before speaking again, "Do you know what he meant by prestigious Arc Clan?"
"I'm supposed to be asking you that question." Jaune said as Jacob had a dopey grin as he scratched the back of his head.
Jaune laughed as they continued to walk towards Jacob's house.
While making their way over Jaune took into account that although the entrance was flashy and big, the community outside of the shops, the houses were pretty poor and some areas were filthy. Jaune shook his head knowing that no matter how sophisticated the civilization was there will always be those that suffer. When they finally arrived at the place Jacob lived Jaune saw that Jacob was nervous. Jaune placed a hand on his shoulder and motioned his head forward.
Jacob walked up to the door with Jaune next to him. Jacob knocked on the door. After some time they both heard some movement on the other side of the door before it opened.
A woman with two wolf ears was at the door, her long black hair in a bun as she wore an apron. She wore a beige sweater and sweats beneath her apron, her black eyes widened when she saw who it was.
"Jacob!" she yelled as she brought him in a back breaking hug falling to her knees.
Jacob was pulled out of the robe. Jaune chuckled at this. There was some more movement and a man with wolf ears, black hair, and back eyes who was wearing a white colored shirt and black dress pants rushed out when he heard his wife yell.
"What's going on! What happened?"
His eyes widened when he saw his son being hugged to death by his wife. He walked over to them and hugged them but softer. This went on for five more seconds before they separated. Jacob was standing in front of his mother while she was crying with her hand on his shoulder.
Jacob's dad then looked past Jacob and saw Jaune with his hood on. He then spoke, "I thank you for bringing our son back to us."
"It was merely a moment of being in the right place at the right time Mr Mur." Jaune replied
"I'm Joseph and my wife's name is Jasmine."
Jaune nodded and was about to leave when he heard a voice call out. "Jaune is there a possibility that I can keep the speeder?"
Jaune turned his head as his smirk was visible from under his hood, "Who said it was mine?"
Jacob was confused at this. He looked next to the house and saw something being covered. He pulled the cover off and saw that it was the speeder parked next to the house. He turned to thank Jaune but he was gone.
Although he was upset that he couldn't say goodbye he remembered that Zwei was still in the pouch. He ran to the back to let Zwei free but instead he found a small pouch and small disk. He reached to pull out the pouch and disk. The first thing he noticed was that the pouch was a little heavy.
He heard movement behind him and felt his dad's hand on his shoulder. He opened the bag and he nearly dropped the bag. Inside the bag was a stack of republic credits but to them it was a stack of gold credits.
He heard his father gasp behind him, he gave his father the bag for safekeeping while turning on the disk. It came to life as a hologram was formed. He saw jaune in the projection as he spoke.
"I thank you Jacob for finding and waking me up. As a token of gratitude I gave you the speeder, a pouch with sixty republic credits, and tools to repair and maintain the speeder which can be found in the other bag. Once again I thank you and may the force be with you as you continue to grow."
The hologram finished and Jacob turned it off.
"Thank you." he whispered as small tears rolled down his cheeks.
He felt his father hug him. Jacob turned around and hugged his father, grateful that Jaune helped him. Jacob looked up and smiled at his father.
Joseph chuckled, "You're home son. You're home".
The two covered the speeder and entered the house.
On the outskirts of a forest a small light could be seen. A small raven saw this and decided to fly closer to it. As it got closer it landed on a tree above the fire as it's red eyes watched a man sitting in front of the fire while eating. It continued to observe as the man finished eating and pulled out a strange object.
Jaune, unaware of the bird, ignited both blades of his lightsaber. He inspected the white blades while closing his eyes. After some time he opened them and started to do some practice swings getting a feel to the blades. He deactivated one of the blades and practiced some one bladed swings, he did the same while holding his blade in a vice grip.
He ignited the second blade again and threw the lightsaber. The blade spun like a buzzsaw as it cut through trees and circled around back into Jaune's hand as he used the force to bring it back.
Jaune nodded, deactivated the blades, and put it away. He sat in front of the fire, back on his ship as he went over the events of the day. He smiled thinking back to Jacob, he was glad that the boy saved him. He was glad he could get him to his family.
Jaune's mood then sombered. He fiddled his hands as he replayed the memory of the Hammerhead going up in a blast. All of his fondest memories were spent on the cruiser. He felt a tear roll down his cheek as he recalled seeing the corpses of his crew while he walked through the ship.
He wiped the tear and calmed down. Before he could fall asleep he heard a voice, "Is it possible that I can sit here?"
Jaune turned towards the voice. He saw a man with traditional Jedi robes and hood, he had brown hair that was tied in the back but it opened up and went down to his shoulders, he had a beard and caring brown eyes. But the most interesting thing was that he was blue and transparent.
"You may" Jaune responded
"Thank you"
The man walked over to a fallen tree and sat on the trunk. He motioned for Jaune to sit next to him. Jaune nodded as he got up and walked over to him.
When he sat down the man spoke, "Tell me young one what troubles you?"
"Shouldn't you tell me who you are first."
The man chuckled and turned his head to face him as he wore a small smile, "I should, shouldn't I?"
Jaune chuckled and the man spoke again, "Very well, I'm Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn."
"I'm Jedi Knight Jaune"
"No last name?"
"I recently woke up from cryo-hibernation so my memory isn't the best at remembering small things like that."
"Hmhmm, well then Jaune what seems to be troubling you?"
Jaune scrunched his brows but answered, "I don't know master. It could be a combination of jealousy, fear, and sadness. I'm not entirely sure."
"Is that so?"
"Yes master."
Jaune saw Qui-Gon place a hand on his chin. Jaune waited a bit but he knew he was going to say the tried and tested answer that the other jedi at the temple told him.
"It's natural for you to get these emotions and it's fine that you get them."
Jaune looked at him surprised. He expected him to say "the force will guide you" or "not to let it cloud his judgment".
"After all that's what makes us human Jaune. No one, not even Jedi, are born perfect. So don't push these emotions to the side, it's better if you experienced them as this will make you more intuned with the force."
"Thank you master for your advice." Jaune responded with gratitude before he spoke again, "Excuse my rudeness but why are you here? Shouldn't you be at the temple?"
Qui-Gon looked at the forest before responding, "The Temple fell Jaune. The Jedi are no more. Only you and a handful of Jedi still live." Qui-Gon paused and looked at Jaune as he covered his eyes.
Qui-Gon waited some time before answering again. He knew that Jaune would react like this so he didn't want to rush things.
"As for why I'm here…. I'm appearing through the force." he said while placing a hand on Jaune's shoulder
"What do you mean?"
"I'm dead Jaune."
Jaune nodded at the information and wiped a hand over his face. This was a lot to take in. He looked at Qui-Gon and spoke, "Will there be a possibility to speak to you again?"
"There is young one, although it might not look like it you can speak to any of us for guidance through the force."
"Thank you Master."
After he said that he heard something clatter and Zwei starting to bark.
"I leave you now Jaune as you have problems to figure out and may the force be with you" he said with a caring smile as he disappeared.
Jaune nodded and walked towards the fire. As he got closer he could hear Zwei's barks get louder. He shook his head with a smile.
'Poor animal must be looking for me.'
When he got past the clearing he found the dog awake barking at a tree. Jaune was confused as crouched down and placed a hand on the dog's head. Using the force he communicated with the animal and after a brief period of communication Jaune stood up.
"Come out. I know you're there." he yelled at the opening
He waited some time but there was no response. He used the force to sense the perpetrator but couldn't, all he could sense were the trees, Zwei, and a single raven. He took out his lightsaber as he waited patiently.
After some time passed he heard something fall down the tree. He looked through the clearing to see what fell but couldn't.
That is until he heard a voice, "Nice little things you have there, what are they?"
He looked towards the clearing but saw nothing. Using the force he reached out to see what was there and was surprised at how he was suddenly surrounded. He sensed the presence of twelve people in total, two in the front, four from the back, and three on each side.
He opened his eyes again and looked down at the dog. Zwei had his teeth showing and was growling. He looked back up and saw two people walking towards him; they were both women but one was younger than the other.
The older one had a bone mask with black spiky hair going to her waist. She wore red armoured gauntlets, a red chestplate, a black skirt, and knee high armoured red boots.
The other girl had brown hair in a bun with tan skin and platinum eyes. She wore a vest that looked like the sleeves were ripped off and ripped jeans with combat boots.
Jaune eyed them carefully as he held his lightsaber at the ready. He knew that through the force he could come out victorious but he had a bad feeling about the masked one.
Jaune decided to play along with the woman as he already knew what they were.
"The dog or the robe?" he said in a playful tone
He saw the younger one get a small scowl but the older one kept her composure. Jaune saw her tap the younger one as she started to walk closer but the younger one stayed back.
"I was talking about your ship, bike, and armour," she told him as her tone was getting even more dangerous, "I've never seen them before, are they of Atlas design?"
"No they aren't. They are from a more civilized time."
"Then tell me how much are you willing to part with them?"
He sensed the ten other individuals start to close in on him as Zwei started to bark in every direction. He steeled his eyes and responded, "No."
"A pity." she responded
Jaune sensed that the other people were closing in on his position. He glanced at the dog and saw it ready to attack. Jaune looked back up at the masked woman and sensed her emotions through the force.
He smirked as he relaxed his stance and put his lightsaber away. He turned around and faced the rest of the group standing behind him all pointing their weapons at him.
He turned to face the masked woman and spoke, "Perhaps I misjudged your character. Maybe we can come to an agreement of some sorts."
He could tell that the woman was smiling at the response and with a wave of her hand all her men stopped aiming their weapons at him.
The woman walked over to him and he saw her grip her blade before speaking, "If you trick us I will make sure that you don't make it out of here alive."
"I am a man or my word."
"Good."
The woman motioned her hand and the younger girl walked up and stood next to her, a scowl ever present on her face.
"Now then before we can come to an agreement I would like to know your name."
"Jaune. My name is Jaune."
"No last name?"
"I'm afraid not Raven Branwen."
He sensed her surprise before it turned to annoyance, "How do you know my name before I said it?"
"The dog told me." he said as he kneeled down and ruffled Zwei's head.
He waited some time before he heard snickering coming from the smaller girl. The now named Raven smacked the girl on the head before she spoke again, "You said that you will sell me your equipment and vehicles?"
"That is correct and I will sell them to you for information. Answer all of my questions and the transaction is complete, fail to answer one and you may as well let me on my way."
"You can't do that!"
Jaune looked at the younger girl after her small outburst, she was scowling while glaring daggers.
"Vernal control yourself."
The girl flinched before talking, "B-But Raven he's t-trying to cheat y-you."
"Actually I just placed a proposition down. All she has to do is either accept it or deny it, this isn't cheating her out of anything."
Vernal looked at Raven then him but she clicked her tongue.
Jaune looked back at Raven before talking, "So what will it be Raven?"
There was a brief pause before she spoke, "I will give you the information."
Jaune nodded while keeping his face neutral. "First off I want to know what was going on in Mountain Glenn before my ship exploded. There is just no way that my ship was able to cripple a mountain of that size without any other factor."
He sensed Raven's surprise at his words before speaking, "From what I saw there were large shipments of dust being moved inside of the mountain before it blew up."
"Second question, what is dust?"
He sensed that everyone was baffled at that question. He raised an eyebrow before Raven spoke again.
"Dust is a crystal that is used to fuel all of our equipment and is used for our ammunition."
Jaune nodded, "Next question, what is the fastest way to the grimm lands?"
"The fastest way there is if you continue Northwest of here, you pass through the island of patch, if you continue going that direction and cross the ocean then you will come across a landmass. When you notice that the land starts turning black. you entered the grimm lands." she finished.
Jaune nodded but he was confused by something, the normally fearless woman showed a hint of fear while she gave him directions. He nodded and asked his final question, "What do you know about the Jedi?"
There was a deafening silence after he asked that question. He raised an eyebrow before Raven spoke up.
"Is this some joke?"
"Excuse me?"
"What are you getting at Jaune? Are you trying to swindle your way out of our agreement?"
"I'll take that as a no then?"
He turned to pack up his things when he felt a hand forcefully turn him around and he was face to face with the angry woman.
"Tell me Jaune, what is a jedi?" the woman seethed
"A jedi is a peacekeeper of the galaxy that is in tune with the force. Our weapon is a lightsaber, it is our life."
When he finished speaking he waited a bit before he heard snickering then laughing. He kept a calm face as they all laughed at him. When they finished Raven looked at him and spoke again.
"You must be crazy to think that there is life outside of this planet. We have never been able to exit the atmosphere as dust would run out of power the further it gets closer to space."
"Then I suggest that you use a different power source."
Jaune then picked up Zwei and placed him in a bag on the side of his speeder. Placing his hand on his forehead he told the dog to go to sleep as he will take care of their problem. The dog looked at him before it nodded and entered the bag entirely.
Jaune turned on the speeder and the hover pads on the ship as it floated to life. He turned to face Raven as all of her men surrounded him even more. He turned to face Raven as he spoke, "I'm a man of my word. You answered all of my questions to the best of your ability, I thank you."
"You tricked me and asked me a question that I couldn't answer."
"I asked you a question that many planets in the Outer Rim know. It's a shame that this planet don't know about the Jedi, or what's left of it." He said the last part in a low voice.
Before he could mount his speeder three men jumped from behind the speeder ready to attack him. Jaune extended his arm and the men stopped moving, with a quick movement he threw the men at Raven and Vernal through the force.
More men surrounded him and through the force he used the fire from the small campfire and pushed it around him at the men. They yelled as some got hit by the fire while others fell to the ground covering their faces.
The area was plunged in darkness. This gave Jaune enough time to mount his speeder and ride away from the area. As he sped forward he passed the border of the forest as he was on the plains again. On the horizon he saw another forest peek over and on the side of the forest was a large mountain.
"Got to get in that forest before that group finds me."
He turned the throttle, increasing his speed. After some time he entered the forest while hugging the mountain, surveying for any caves. After a little bit he saw the opening of a cave. He slowed down and dismounted his speeder while inspecting the cave.
He saw a drawing near the entrance. He noticed that the drawing was of a man being killed by a large insect. Walking towards the speeder, he turned the front to face the cave and turned on the lights. When the cave was illuminated he saw that the cave was completely empty.
He gave a small smile. Entering the cave he made sure that the ship and speeder were inside the cave entirely. He laid his back on the cave wall and looked out into the forest. He calmed himself as he didn't sense any presences nearby. Closing his eyes he went over the events of the day and promptly fell asleep.
Waking up the next morning was strange for Jaune as he didn't see the darkness of space nor the metal walls of his cruiser. He shook his head thinking back but he knew that it shouldn't hold him back.
He stood up and stretched while walking out of the cave. Surveying the area he noticed that the planet was very alive as there was an abundance of animals and life from his little cave. He turned back around and checked up on Zwei.
Walking closer to the pack that held him, he chuckled when the dog popped it's head out and started barking at Jaune. Jaune ruffled it's head and gave it some of his rations. Zwei took a bite out of it and yipped happily as he ate the rest of it. Jaunee reached into the other sack and pulled out another ration bar and ate it.
After doing some maintenance and checking if he still had all of his equipment, he nodded and mounted the speeder, made sure that Zwei was strapped in, and with that he was off.
While riding through the forest he made sure that he was going at a decent speed as he didn't want to collide with a tree and kill himself. While riding he came across some black animals that paid him no mind even if he was passing right next to them. He would have to research these animals more but he needed to stay and keep calm, he didn't want his emotions to get the better of him.
He saw the edge of the forest appear and was content but he groaned internally when he saw some people walk in front of him and stop as they looked at him. He paid them no mind and turned his speeder and went around them. They must have seen him as he noticed a blonde woman look at him tactfully as he sped pass them. The other three were men, two of them, one with green hair and glasses the other a portly man, were surprised while the white haired man wearing a green suit just watched him while drinking from a strange cup.
He heard the woman say something but he couldn't hear as he was already a distance from them. He looked back but they were already out of view. Well that can wait, right now he needed to get fuel for his ship and he needed to return Zwei to his owners.
He pushed the throttle as he gained a small smirk, this was going to be a fun adventure.
"The nerve of that man." the blonde woman said as she stomped her foot irraitly on the grassy floor.
"Now now Glynda. We got in the way of his…. bike. All he did was just move around us." the portly man responded
"Speaking of which, that was a strange vehicle." the man with green hair said.
"Quite strange indeed Oobleck. Perhaps we can learn more about it if we follow him?" the white-haired man with spectacles said.
"That doesn't matter now Ozpin. What matters now is that that was the man who slept on school premises last night." Glynda said while rubbing her brows.
"Was anyone able to get a good look then?"
"Sorry Bart, the boy went by too fast for me to see."
"It's fine Peter, he went by me too fast as well," Ozpin said while patting him on the back before directing his stare at the blonde, "What about you Glynda. You made direct eye contact with him, were you able to see what he looked like?"
"Yes, unlike you three, I was able to see that he was the newly registered huntsman Jaune Arc." She said while showing her scroll with his ID.
"He seems a little young doesn't he?"
"You're quite right Peter my old friend, he appears to have the same age as a first year. What do you say Ozpin?"
"I say that we keep a close eye on him and that we make sure that he doesn't get into too much trouble."
"James is going to throw a fit that we didn't confiscate his vehicles and equipment while he slept."
"You're right Glynda but he doesn't need to know."
"Either way we need to figure out what the students can do during this break. Mt Glen expeditions aren't a viable option as it is now rubble and a quarter of its former height."
"We will figure that out a seperate time Glynda, right now let's head back to Beacon and contact the Arc patriarch and question if he knows of his son or if it's just a pretender."
Ozpin finished and signalled for Peter and Bart to follow him back to Beacon. He was gonna get an earful from James and Arthur but that isn't on his mind right now. All he could ask was who is Jaune Arc, if that was even his name.
AN: Done woooo man that was a fun write. Either way I want to first say that Jaune doesn't attract the grimm because he learned to keep his emotions in check and to not let them run rampant as he is a Jedi.
Secondly, Jaune's main motive is to get fuel and get off Remnant to try and reconnect with the rest of the galaxy, so he won't go to Beacon.
Third, Jacob will come back but he won't try to fight with Jaune.
Finally Zwei is fun to write and is a fun character. Other than that I hope you enjoyed this read.
