Note: Hazbin Hotel was created by Vivienne Medrano.
Vaggie was hard at work, while inside of her room. However, she was not working on something, that had to do with the Hazbin Hotel. Instead, she was working on a special surprise for her girlfriend, Charlie. Charlie and Vaggie had been dating each other for almost two years. Their second anniversary was only a week away, so Vaggie wanted to make Charlie a special gift. She wanted to make Charlie something unique and pretty, so she had been working on painting a picture of Charlie. She had been working on the painting, for a few weeks. The painting had Charlie in a fancy, black dress, while wearing white gloves and having one hand on her hip. In the background, Vaggie painted a picture of the hotel, complete with all the bright colors that Charlie loved.
Suddenly, Vaggie started hearing a knock on the door. She sighed and asked, "Who's there?"
Angel Dust said, "It's Angel Dust."
Vaggie said, "This isn't a good time. I'm busy."
Angel Dust replied, "I'm going to come in, anyways."
Vaggie didn't want Angel Dust to find out what she was working on, because Angel Dust had never been good at keeping secrets. She quickly grabbed a white tarp and put it over the painting.
Angel Dust opened the door and stepped inside. He waved to Vaggie and said, "Charlie wants to talk to you."
Vaggie looked frustrated, while asking, "You came inside just to tell me that?"
Angel Dust defensively replied, "I'm trying to be more social."
Vaggie sighed and said, "I understand. I'm going to go see what Charlie wants."
Vaggie was about to walk out of the room, but Angel Dust his hand in front of her, while eyeing the tarp. He asked, "What are you hiding?"
Vaggie tried to not seem nervous, while saying, "I'm not hiding anything."
Angel Dust put his hand on his chin, while saying, "I'm starting to suspect that you have a secret."
Vaggie replied, "Well, stop having theories."
Vaggie walked out of her room and started walking down the stairs. Charlie had been working long and hard in the hotel's lobby. In the past couple of months, the hotel had become a lot more busy. At first, people expected the Hazbin Hotel to be a failure. However, Charlie's enthusiasm, Vaggie's support and Alastor's creepy charm helped the hotel's popularity and it quickly became one of the underworld's most popular hotels.
When Vaggie got to the lobby, she saw Charlie looking at the notebook where she scheduled appointments and kept track of important days. Charlie seemed to have a lot on her mind when Vaggie came up to her and said, "Hi."
Charlie looked at Vaggie and replied, "Hi, Vaggie. I'm afraid there's something wrong with my schedule and I'm hoping you can help me with that."
Vaggie asked, "What's the problem?"
Charlie opened the notebook and flipped to the page that described the following week's schedule. She said, "According to this schedule, I was planning on taking the day off, seven days from now. I was going to have Alastor take care of things throughout the day. However, I don't get why I'd ever take the day off from running my hotel. I mean, things have been getting busier and busier. Taking the day off would be foolish."
Vaggie was starting to fear that Charlie had forgotten about their two-year anniversary. She desperately hoped that wasn't the case. She figured she could give Charlie a subtle reminder, by saying, "Maybe you have a important event on that day."
Charlie replied, "I don't think that's the case. There's no birthdays or holidays on that day."
Vaggie folded her arms, while saying, "Well, there's no traditional holidays on that day, but there's something rather important and meaningful."
Charlie kept trying to think of what event could possibly be on that day. Eventually, she said, "You know what? That day probably means something to someone, but it means nothing to me."
Vaggie had an offended look on her face, while replying, "I'm sorry you feel that way." She quickly started walking up the stairs.
Charlie seemed confused by Vaggie looking offended and walking away. She said, "I wonder what's going on with her." She started walking up the stairs.
Vaggie sat on her bed, while looking gloomy and sad. A couple of tears came down her eyes. She quickly wiped them away due to embarrassment. She wasn't used to crying and she didn't want to be crying, because of Charlie. She loved Charlie. She had never met anybody on Earth or in the underworld that she loved more than her. The mere thought that Charlie accidentally made her cry was a notion she couldn't stand.
Vaggie suddenly heard her door being opened. She angrily whispered, "It better not be Angel Dust."
Charlie went into the room and nervously smiled, while saying, "Hi, Vaggie."
Vaggie quickly threw away the tissue, that had her tears on it, in her waste basket. She stood up and asked, "What do you want?"
Charlie said, "I wanted to apologize. I think I know what's going on. Vaggie, seven days from now, is a special day. I admit I don't know what that day is, but you clearly care about it, so I'm sorry for acting like it's not an important day."
Vaggie folded her arms, while replying, "I want to accept your apology, but in order to do that, you have to tell me what happens in seven days."
Charlie sounded guilty, while responding, "I wish I knew, Vaggie, but I don't. That day seems to be something you hold in high regards, so if you tell me what the day is, I can help you celebrate it."
Vaggie angrily said, "Charlie, you're supposed to know what that day's about and if you don't, then I don't know what to tell you."
Charlie put her hand on Vaggie's shoulder, while saying, "Throw me a bone, sweetheart. Can't you just tell me what the day is?"
Vaggie paused, while wondering what she was supposed to say. She wanted Charlie to remember their anniversary, but she figured things would keep getting more complicated if she didn't just tell her. Vaggie said, "Our anniversary is in seven days. It's our second anniversary. I was hoping you'd remember it, but apparently, it's just like all the other days in your eyes."
Charlie raised her eyebrows, while hardly believing she had forgotten about her own anniversary. She looked nervous and regretful, while saying, "I'm so sorry, Vaggie. I'll remember our anniversary, in-time. I'll take the day off and spend it with you."
Vaggie sat on her bed and tried to relax. However, she was starting to feel a tear come down her eye and she didn't want Charlie to see that, so she said, "I need to be alone, right now."
Charlie said, "Honey, I really -"
Vaggie interrupted Charlie, by replying, "I just need to be by myself for a while."
Charlie responded, "Um, okay, but I'm going to check on you, later."
After Charlie walked out of the room and shut the door, Vaggie let the tears roll down her eyes. The tears came down her cheeks and landed on her bed sheets. She started talking to herself, while saying, "Stop crying. You haven't cried like this in years. Charlie just forgot. People forget things all the time. It's not a big deal." She wanted to stop crying, as soon as possible. She felt ashamed of herself for making such a fuss about the anniversary.
A few hours later, Charlie walked back to Vaggie's room, to check on her. Charlie knocked on the door and asked, "Can I come in?" Charlie patiently waited, but she didn't hear Vaggie's voice. She put her ear closer to the door and started hearing running water. She figured Vaggie must be taking a shower in the bathroom that was next to her room. Charlie opened the door and went inside. She looked around and saw that there was a large object that was covered in a tarp. Charlie's curiosity made her say, "I wonder what Vaggie's got under the tarp." She paused and said, "I shouldn't be thinking about that. I shouldn't even be in Vaggie's room. However, I have to see Vaggie as soon as I can. I need to give her a proper apology and let her know I love her."
Charlie started sitting on Vaggie's bed, but she quickly started feeling wet. At first, she thought Vaggie might of wet the bed. She said, "Oh, my. If Vaggie wet the bed, I better not say anything. It'll just make her feel more embarrassed." She looked down and saw Vaggie's waste basket which was covered in tear-stained tissues. Charlie said, "Wait a minute. Vaggie didn't wet the bed. She's just been crying." She started getting nervous, while asking, "What if I'm the reason that Vaggie's been crying? That would be terrible. That would make me cry!"
Vaggie started hearing Charlie's voice, so she turned off the shower and put on her purple bathrobe. She opened the bathroom door and stepped back into her room where she saw Charlie sitting on her bed. Vaggie normally wouldn't have a problem with Charlie coming into her room without asking. However, due to the sad emotions Vaggie had been dealing with, seeing Charlie upset her. She looked at Charlie, while asking, "Why are you here?"
Charlie gasped, because she had been caught. She had entered her girlfriend's room and stuck her nose into things that she wasn't supposed to know about. She nervously smiled, while saying, "I just wanted to check on you."
Vaggie replied, "I didn't let you come in."
Charlie said, "I know, but I guess I couldn't wait." She sighed and said, "I'm sorry, for everything. I'm particularly sorry for making you cry."
Vaggie looked embarrassed and upset, while asking, "How do you know I cried?"
Charlie explained, "I sat on your bed and I felt something wet. At first, I thought you accidentally wet the bed, but thankfully, that's not what happened. I saw the tissues you threw away. Were you crying, because of me?"
Vaggie looked away from Charlie. She was ashamed to admit she cried, because she wanted to seem like she was tough and strong-willed. She said, "I wouldn't cry, just because you forgot about our anniversary. I'm not that type of person."
Charlie walked closer to Vaggie, while replying, "Honey, you don't have to lie. There's nothing wrong with having to cry, every once in a while. It's a natural emotion for humans. Well, you're not a human and neither am I." She paused and said, "You used to be a human, but that was in the past. I, on the other hand, have never been a human, so I don't know if I'm missing out -"
Vaggie interrupted Charlie's babbling, by replying, "Yes, I was crying. However, I didn't mean to. I just got caught up in the moment. Normally, I wouldn't be so oversensitive. I'm sorry."
Charlie responded, "Don't apologize. I'm the one, who messed up. I forgot about our anniversary. Everybody considers me the overly-bubbly girl, who makes a big deal, about everything. However, when it comes to one of the most important days of the year, I act ignorant and forgetful. I'm sorry, honey."
Vaggie sighed and said, "I'm not mad at you. I thought I was, but I'm mad at myself, for making such a big deal about this."
Charlie replied, "You should be making a big deal. We've been dating, for almost two years. I love you, more than anything, yet I've let my hotel job distract me. I'll make it up to you." She kissed Vaggie's cheek and said, "In seven days, we'll take the day off and I'll give you a present that you're going to love."
Vaggie said, "I look forward to that." She paused and said, "Charlie, can you do me a favor?"
Charlie said, "Of course. What is it?"
Vaggie shyly said, "Please, don't tell anybody that I was crying. I don't want people thinking I'm fragile or anything."
Charlie replied, "Okay, but for what it's worth, I don't think you're fragile. If either of us is strong, it's you."
Vaggie smiled and responded, "Thank you, Charlie."
After Charlie left the room, Vaggie checked her painting to make sure the tarp was still on it. She was glad to see it was still there and she truly hoped that Charlie didn't a get a peek at her gift.
After Vaggie changed into a gray dress, she heard a knock on the door. She raised an eyebrow and asked, "Who's there?"
Angel Dust said, "It's Angel Dust."
Vaggie sighed and replied, "Please, leave me alone."
Angel Dust responded, "That's not going to happen." He opened the door and went inside. He started eyeing random parts of the room as if he were in a shopping mall.
Vaggie angrily stared at him, while asking, "Why are you here?"
Angel Dust started directing his attention towards the tarp. He said, "The last time that I barged into your room, that tarp caught my eye. I've been dying to know what's under it."
Vaggie replied, "It's none of your business."
Angel Dust smirked, while saying, "I often check out things that are none of my business. Some people think being curious is a bad thing, because it makes them become addicted, to unlocking secrets they're not supposed to know. However, I'm shameless, so I'll find out the truth behind anything that makes me curious."
Vaggie didn't want anybody to know what's under the tarp, because she didn't want to ruin the surprise. However, she figured Angel Dust would keep breaking into her room if she didn't tell him. She closed the door and looked at him, while saying, "I can tell you about it, but you can't tell anybody else. It's especially important that Charlie doesn't find out."
Angel Dust said, "Oh, really? You're keeping a secret from your girlfriend? Sounds like some drama's going on between the two of you."
Vaggie folded her arms, while replying, "Don't you dare say that." She sighed and said, "Anyways, Charlie's anniversary gift is under the tarp. I painted her a picture of herself."
Angel Dust asked, "Do you think she'll like it?"
Vaggie said, "I think so."
Angel Dust replied, "Well, if she's got a big-enough ego, I'm sure she'll like it. Maybe she's secretly one of those people who thinks she's the most beautiful thing, ever."
Meanwhile, Charlie ran down the stairs and went into the lobby. She started pacing around the room, while searching for Alastor. She said, "Alastor, are you there?"
Suddenly, a puff of smoke came into the room and Alastor popped by. He had a giant grin on his face, while saying, "Greetings, Charlie. This seems to be a lovely day."
Charlie smiled, while replying, "I'm surprised to see you be in such a good mood."
Alastor twirled a cane around and tapped his feet, before saying, "Excuse the theatrics. I'm just excited, to be the boss of the Hazbin Hotel, in seven days. It's sure to be a fun day, full of anarchy, pain, destruction and a never-ending supply of mayhem." He did an evil laugh.
Charlie said, "You seem to have the right spirit, to run this hotel."
Alastor patted Charlie's shoulder, while replying, "Thank you. Your gullibility is an attribute, that I never get tired of. Anyways, why did you call for me?"
Charlie said, "I have a problem."
Alastor replied, "Understatement of the century, but considering you're immortal, that insult doesn't make as much of an impact. Anyways, what problem, in particular, are you focusing on?"
Charlie said, "My second-year anniversary is in seven days. I believe Vaggie got me a nice gift, but I forgot about the anniversary. I haven't gotten her a present." She grabbed Alastor, while asking, "What am I supposed to do?"
Alastor asked, "Can't you just buy her something, at the store?"
Charlie said, "That would work, for most people, but I want to get Vaggie something special. I want to get her something, that took a lot of effort and passion, in order to make. However, it'll probably take a long time, to go up with something. I need help and ideas."
Alastor replied, "Charlie, I would help you, but I don't give a crap, when it comes to your romantic endeavors."
Charlie asked, "Is it because you're not the romantic type?"
Alastor said, "That's not the reason. I'm a demonic prankster, so I don't like helping people achieve genuine happiness."
Charlie replied, "No offense, but I can understand why you got sent to the underworld."
Alastor looked around, while asking, "This is the underworld? Where's Kate Beckinsale?" Charlie rolled her eyes, while Alastor started looking for vampires.
A few minutes later, Charlie walked up the stairs and saw Vaggie escorting Angel Dust out of her room, because she was tired of his antics. Charlie ran up to Angel Dust and said, "I need your help."
Angel Dust replied, "According to Vaggie, the only way I could help her, is by giving her some space. Hopefully, I can be of better help, to you."
Charlie nervously said, "My two-year anniversary is coming up and I still haven't gotten Vaggie a gift."
Angel Dust had a confused look on his face, while asking, "What are you talking about? You already got Vaggie a gift."
Charlie looked surprised, while asking, "Really?"
Angel Dust said, "You had the gift made, a few weeks ago. You must of forgotten about it."
Charlie started remembering the gift she had made. She felt relieved, while saying, "I guess I got Vaggie a good gift, after all. Maybe I'm not a bad girlfriend. Maybe I'm just forgetful."
Angel Dust replied, "I often forget which room I live in, so don't feel bad."
Charlie smiled, while saying, "You know what? I don't feel bad." She paused and said, "Well, I still feel bad, about forgetting about the anniversary and hurting Vaggie's feelings, but I think my gift will make things better."
Six days later, Vaggie had a fairly-normal day. She did her typical work, had lunch with charlie and did her usual chores. After her workday was over, Vaggie changed into a gray undershirt and blue shorts. She was about to go to bed, but Charlie knocked on the door. Vaggie asked, "Who's there?"
Charlie said, "It's me."
Vaggie replied, "You can come in."
Charlie came into the room, while wearing a blue nightgown. She looked at Vaggie and said, "You're in your pajamas, too. This'll be perfect."
Vaggie raised an eyebrow, while asking, "What are you talking about?"
Charlie embraced Vaggie, while saying, "Happy anniversary."
Vaggie replied, "Happy anniversary, to you, too, but technically, our anniversary is tomorrow."
Charlie said, "True, but I wanted you to see your gift, tonight."
Vaggie smiled, while saying, "You couldn't wait, could you?"
Charlie jumped up and down, while replying, "Indeed."
Vaggie said, "I suppose I don't mind celebrating our anniversary, early, if you let me give you your gift, now."
Charlie was filled with eager excitement, while replying, "But I really want to show you your gift, right away. I've been jumping up and down, for days, in anticipation."
Vaggie responded, "This shouldn't take long."
Charlie replied, "Okay."
Vaggie walked up to the tarp and removed it from the painting. Charlie stared at the painting, that Vaggie painted. Charlie saw that it was a painting of her, in an eloquent dress, with bright colors shining around the background. Charlie gave Vaggie a big kiss and said, "I love it. It's the most beautiful, that I've ever seen." She nervously laughed and said, "I'm not just saying that, because I think I look pretty. Your artistic skills are amazing."
Vaggie replied, "Thank you, Charlie and I can understand why you'd consider yourself so beautiful. It's because nobody's more beautiful than you." Charlie grabbed Vaggie and gave her another kiss.
A moment later, Charlie picked up the painting and said, "This is such a lovely work of art. I know where to put it. Follow me."
Vaggie replied, "Okay."
Charlie and Vaggie stepped out of the room. Charlie carried the painting, while walking around the hallway. Vaggie followed, while wondering where Charlie was going. She wondered if the Hazbin Hotel had a new art gallery or something.
Charlie led Vaggie to the last room of the hallway. Charlie opened the door and she and Vaggie went inside. Vaggie looked around and saw a room that was decorated with pictures of her and Charlie from their previous dates. The room also had a blue bed, fluffy pillows, drawings of hearts and a large pile of valentines. Vaggie felt so confused, while asking, "What is this room?"
Charlie softly said, "This is our new room."
Vaggie asked, "What do you mean?"
Charlie explained, "Shortly after we started dating, I knew you were the love of my life. I also started having the desire, for us to share a home. Since I created the Hazbin Hotel, I knew we'd have to stay at the hotel, so getting a house seemed like it'd become a never-fulfilled dream. However, a few weeks ago, I decided I'd have a room made, that we can share. You can still keep your old room, but whenever you want my company, we can stay in here."
Vaggie smiled, while saying, "I love it. I can't believe I got so emotional, about you forgetting our anniversary. You're the best girlfriend that I could ever ask for." She kissed Charlie.
Charlie hung up the painting that Vaggie gave her on one of the walls and said, "I think we're going to really enjoy this room, Vaggie." She paused and said, "Well, I've probably kept you up, long enough. You can go back to your room and go to sleep if you want."
Vaggie said, "I think I'll sleep in here, tonight. Care to have a sleepover?"
Charlie was so excited that she squealed before saying, "Okay."
Vaggie and Charlie started laying on the bed, under the covers. The bed had some stuffed animals on it, so Vaggie threw them off. She said, "Sorry, but they were crowding up the bed."
Charlie looked a bit concerned, while asking, "Do you not have enough room?"
Vaggie took a closer look at the bed and noticed it was as small as the bed she normally sleeps on. She said, "Charlie, did you purposely get us a bed that's meant for one person in order to make us snuggle closer to one another?"
Charlie blushed, while replying, "I sure did. You figured out my mischievous plan."
Vaggie said, "Well, if you want your plan to succeed, get closer to me." Vaggie and Charlie snuggled closer and noticed their shoulders were touching.
Charlie said, "If you want, I can get us a bigger bed." Vaggie shook her head.
Vaggie paused and said, "Actually, one of us could fall off the bed if we aren't careful."
Charlie smiled, while replying, "I can help with that." Charlie gently wrapped her arms around Vaggie and began cuddling with her. She said, "We might have to snuggle and cuddle, each night in order to keep ourselves from falling off the bed. I don't mind that."
Vaggie blushed, while responding, "I don't mind, either."
A few minutes later, Charlie turned off the lights, before returning to cuddling with Vaggie. It was possibly the smallest bed that Vaggie and Charlie had ever slept on, but they had never had a more pleasant or comfortable night. They both knew they'd be in this room for a long time and they also knew they'd be together, forever.
