A/N: I definitely don't own Lucifer. I just love playing with the characters. I saw this prompt: '1x11 vulnerability talk, but after lucifer admits he's vulnerable around her, she sees his bloody hand and treats it' over on the Lucifer prompts Tumblr and couldn't help but write it. It's just too perfect. Hope you guys enjoy. I wrote the whole thing in one afternoon. Obviously, the beginning is the end scene to "St. Lucifer" – I don't own that either.

Lend A Hand

Chloe slowly walked up to Lucifer after they both had just simultaneously tried to awkwardly start a conversation after Lucifer came over to her place after they had just wrapped up quite the case of a murdered philanthropist. She had to admit, some of the awkward tension might have stemmed from showing up to his place drunk and attempting to sleep with him then waking up naked in his bed the next morning, but it needed to be addressed.

Lucifer prompted Chloe to speak first.

"Um," Chloe nervously played with her hands, trying to figure out how to broach the subject, "I've been thinking a lot about the other night. Why I showed up drunk to your place – why you wouldn't sleep with me. And I think, us, our thing… maybe it goes beyond just work. Or sex."

"What sex?" Lucifer corrected her, "Congratulations, the first woman to give the Devil blue balls."

Chloe stepped closer.

"Anyhow, I, uh, I just…" Chloe felt at a loss for words while Lucifer fingered the small knife concealed behind his back, listening closely.

"I can let my guard down with you," Chloe finally let out, "I don't do that with anyone else. You make me vulnerable. And maybe that's okay."

Lucifer inhaled deeply as he discreetly sliced his hand with the knife, "Detective…"

He briefly glanced down to his gesturing hand before bringing it back behind his back.

"If it's any consolation to your pride… it appears you make me vulnerable too."

Chloe gave him a shy smile and waved between the two of them, "Well, I'm glad we could clear the air between us. And I'm glad to see that the old Lucifer is back. I missed him."

"Yes, well, the old Lucifer won't take up any more of your time," Lucifer slipped his right hand into his pocket, slipping the now closed knife into it. He gestured with his left hand for the door as he made a move toward it. However, his palm was upturned and Chloe, ever the eagle-eyed Detective caught a glimpse of his blood.

"You're bleeding," Chloe immediately grabbed at his wrist.

"It's nothing," Lucifer closed his fist.

"That's not nothing, Lucifer," Chloe still held fast to his wrist and gently peeled his fingers back to take a closer look at the wound.

"How'd you cut yourself?" Chloe led him over to the dining room table by the hand for better light. He instinctively took a seat as she sat across from him. The entire journey over to the table, they didn't break contact.

"A knife."

Chloe gave him a deadpan look.

"I'm going to get my first-aid kit," Chloe got up, "Don't move. Be right back."

Lucifer's eyes followed Chloe's retreating form. So his mortality situation was due to the Detective's proximity.

Interesting.

He should get out of here. He would heal a lot faster away from the Detective than her stitching him up, but it seemed his body betrayed him. He didn't move. He stayed in the same position at Chloe Decker's dining room table until Chloe came back with her first-aid kit.

"It doesn't look too deep," Chloe took his hand once again and Lucifer couldn't help but study her small ministrations as she wiped his cut with an alcohol swab. Could this woman truly be an agent of his Father's sent to destroy him? She truly doesn't seem to know about her ability to hurt him. She could be lying, but it didn't seem like it to him.

"I think you lucked out," Chloe said oblivious to Lucifer's thoughts. She continued to clean the slice in his hand, "It doesn't look like you're going to need stitches."

"This looks like a fresh cut though," Chloe reached into the box to look for a bandage, "How'd you manage to cut yourself with a knife and not notice?"

"Oh, I noticed," Lucifer replied, "I just didn't think it needed immediate attention."

Chloe took out the tool to apply a liquid bandage and gestured for Lucifer to place his hand in hers.

"I swear, Lucifer," Chloe breathed with a shake of her head. She began to apply the bandage, "One day, I'll figure you out."

"There's not much to figure out, Detective," Lucifer returned, "After all, I've been telling you all about me since the first day we met."

"Right," Chloe lifted her gaze and gave him a humoring smile, "The Devil. How could I forget?"

"I am the Devil, darling," Lucifer replied, "It's still not my fault that you don't believe me."

"Well, I must admit, I never expected the Devil to be quite so…" Chloe trailed off as she finished wrapping Lucifer's hand with some protective gauze.

"Handsome? Sexy? Debonair? Charming?" Lucifer took his hand back once Chloe finished her handiwork. Chloe's hands remained in the same spot his just vacated.

"Don't leave a Devil hanging."

"Soft," Chloe finished and rested her hands on the table.

"Soft?" Lucifer spat the description like it was poison, "I assure you, Detective, the Devil is anything but soft… especially in certain areas."

Lucifer leered, poking his tongue into his cheek.

Chloe rolled her eyes and gave another amused shake of her head. Of course he had to ruin the moment with a sexual innuendo. She really should know better. But every so often, Lucifer would drop the act and just be himself. Maybe after this little chat, he might be inclined to be more himself with her in the future.

"Right, well I best get back to Lux," Lucifer stood up, "Thank you for the patch-up, Detective. Admirable work."

"Happy to lend a hand," Chloe grinned.

"Ahh, very clever, Detective," Lucifer smiled right back. He made his way to the door, Chloe trailing right behind him to walk him out.

"I'll see you later, Lucifer," Chloe opened the door for him.

"Have a good night, Detective," Lucifer slightly bowed his head.

"Good night," Chloe smiled and slowly closed the door behind him.

Lucifer dropped his gaze from the closed door. He held up his injured hand to inspect her work. She did a good job. Whenever he had to patch up wounds in Hell, they never looked so well-cared for. Of course, that could have to do with the fact that he either had to patch himself up or Maze would make an attempt. Chloe Decker truly was an enigma. Either she truly had no idea she could literally make him exsanguinate or she was the universe's best liar. Only time would tell.

Perhaps he should test other objects away from the Detective's company to see if they could harm him too. Mazikeen was bound to have an array of different kinds of knives or weapons made out of all sorts of materials that he could use to test his theory.

Yes. It would be best to explore all avenues before coming to any sort of conclusion about his vulnerability around Detective Chloe Decker.

THE END

Well, that was certainly a lot shorter than I expected. But I am a bit rusty. I did need to stretch some writing muscles again. Hope it wasn't awful. Season 1 Deckerstar seems to be a bit difficult to write for me, I must admit. Let me know what you guys thought! :)

44 more days until Lucifer Season 5B. I cannot wait! :)
