Hiii! I took a little break from publishing. I went camping for like 2 weeks so I couldn't be on my computer. I just returned on Sunday! Anyway, I hope you enjoy this story, because I've been really really really working hard on it. I even read this one like 500 times to make sure there were no mistakes, and it flowed perfectly! I also made this story kind of based on me, and how I would feel. Tell me if you like this story or not, and it would be amazing if you wrote me a review for it. Thank you!

Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter.

Chapter 1

Since I was a little girl, I always hoped. Hoped that it would come to me and someday be mine. So I hoped, everyday. Every single day. A short few believed like I did. The rest sought us as weirdos. But as I got older the short few too drifted away. And at that moment when I most needed it, It didn't come.

After that day I gave up. I just gave up. I was sick, and tired of waiting, being patient, so I just gave up. What I can't say is that I ever stopped believing. I still believed it was there deep down. I just didn't believe it was for me anymore. Not after everything.

Although some part of me always did want to believe that it was still out there waiting for me, I knew that I could not continue this anymore. I needed a life, and dreaming about it wasn't going to get me to where I needed.

So that was it. The end of my story.

Madelyn(oldest)

Adrenaline rushed into me like a heavy wind in the tundra. I ran to the other side of the court, and jumping over many reaching hands, I scored the basket. 10-8, we had won! I let out an excited, "Whoop" as my teammate, and best friend, Em called for a party at her house.

I sighed, the happiness from my win had gone because I would have to refuse this one again too.

Taking a deep breath I called out, "Sorry peeps! Can't today. Maybe next time."

Amy, another one of my teammates whined, "Aww….Come one Peters! You didn't come last time too! Plus, you scored the final point! You deserve a treat!"

"Sorry," I said, and looked apologetically at Em. Em knowing my position, just gave me an understanding look.

"Anyway," I said tossing a basketball from one hand to another, "I'll see you guys at practice. Bye!"

And I left.

I took the bus home. When I got home, my mom was already home, and in a hurry.

As soon as she saw me she hugged me, gave me a small kiss on the cheek, and said, "Oh your home sweetheart! Thank goodness you're here! How'd your game go?"

"It went really really good! Mom I even...," I stopped when mom raised her hand to silence me as she took the phone.

I sighed, and went on to do my chores as mom left for work. When I had finally finished, I sat down with my book, diving into the world.

Melody(Middle Child)

I took my purse, and left without Lin noticing. It was quite easy since Lin had her nose in a book again. Sneaking out to the mall, I met my BFFs Lidia and Kyler. Li, Ky, and I went to shop to shop looking for things to wear for the first day of school.

When I came back home, Madelyn was still reading. Bored I decided to choose my first day of school outfits, since I didn't have any money to buy them at the mall.

My room, unlike Lin's, was full of clothes and jewelry that I'd managed to save over the years. Lin's room was full of books, and more books. Which I found to be a waste of space.

My younger sister Madison, was now 14 months old, and had to be constantly taken care of by Lin and me. So, between all the chores, taking care of Madi, and homework, I didn't really have that free time that most girls, my age did. So while Lin whished about books and magic, I wished that I could be rich and famous one day.

Melanie(Mom)

My childhood had been a series of hopeful girls. I had great potential, but I had always been dreaming. Dreaming for magic to be real. Dreaming for happily ever afters. But most of all, I dreamed about Hogwarts. As a kid, Hogwarts had been my dream, and I had always thought that Hogwarts would be my happiness, my accomplishment, but it had become my ruin.

When I was a child, I had had a lot of potential, but all that potential had been wasted on this. A nurse working double shifts at the hospital. A nobody.

That's why I tried to keep Lin working. I wanted Madeline to have a good life, and her dreaming about knights, and magic school wasn't going to help her. Melody was fine though. She didn't like books or fiction happily ever after. She was into fashion and music.

As I was thinking, Melody came into the kitchen holding a fair stack of letters.

"Mom," she called out, "Here's the letter."

Then, picking through them, she said, "Two from the school, probably our report cards, one from the hospital, one from grandma and grandpa, adds, adds, adds, and this weird letter addressed to me.

"Let me see," I said. Wiping my hands with a towel.

I took the stack of letters, and just like Melody had said, there was a strange letter addressed to her. I flipped it over, and looked at the seal. It had a Hogwarts crest on it.

My eyes widened, and my heart started pounding, as if I had seen a dragon.

"Mum, are you alright?" Melody asked me. For she knew that I wasn't a panicky sort of person.

"Everything's just fine dear," I assured her, taking a deep breath.

"Alright. I'm going up to my bedroom," Melody said uncertainly.

When she was gone, I opened up the letter. My hands shook trembling. Thoughts filled my mind. What could this possibly mean?

When I had finally unsealed the seal, and looked at the content of the envelope, I saw the contents I had read about years ago. An invitation to Hogwarts, a list of supplies, and a ticket to the Hogwarts Express.

But at the back of the envelope, was a phone number, Cautiously, I took the phone, and dialed the number. A few "ring, rings" later, someone answers the phone.

"Yes," a voice called.

"This is Melody's mom Melanie," I said.

"Ah yes," the voice said. "I've been expecting your call Ms. Peters. I'm Professor McGonagall, headmistress of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. It would be best to talk about this situation face to face. I'll be at your house soon.

And before I could object, or utter a single word, she hung up on me.
