Chapter 1
Everyone was needed on the mission and it was going to last a week! It was a miracle that SHIELD hadn't been called in as well.
It was supposed to be a sort of sleepover for Ali but of course it didn't turn out like that.
The first 3 days of her 7-day sleepover at SHIELD had been amazing. Over the weekend she had managed to spend the time with May and her sister Daisy sparing in the training room or playing pranks on the others. Her Grandad Phil had taught her and Daisy how to cook and told them stories about his days at the academy.
She still had to go to school, but she could still walk to it from the Playground. After school she spent the time with her family. Jemma been teaching her about her DNA and what each bit meant, and Fitz had been letting her test some of his experiments.
Her room was in between Daisy and Coulson's rooms and she had already decorated it with photos of them all.
It was now Tuesday and she had just gotten back to the playground. She had changed out of her school clothes and into some leggings and a T-shirt.
She met Fitz outside the lab. They were going to test some of his weapon designs in the training room and Ali couldn't wait. She was literally bouncing up and down as they walked down the corridor and was talking excitedly to Fitz.
Two corridors away from the training room Ali felt something wasn't right. She wasn't sure what it was, but she just had a bad feeling at the pit of her stomach. She didn't want Fitz to think that she was crazy so didn't mention it.
Instead, she quickly scanned the area with her heat vision. Nobody was near them except someone who was walking down a corridor which would join up to the one that Ali and Fitz were walking down now.
Ali tried to bury the feeling but when the person walked around the corner and came into view the feeling grew.
Every sense that Ali had was telling her that the person walking down the corridor was her sister, apart from her 6th sense.
When she had changed her vision, Ali hadn't seen Daisy's heat signature. She had seen a stranger's and she was more inclined to believe her other sight at the moment. She knew that she needed to check for sure though.
If this ended in a fight though she didn't want Fitz anywhere near it. He may have been older than her by quite a few years, but he wasn't as trained as she was, and he didn't have powers. She wasn't going to let him get hurt.
"Oh, Fitz I forgot to tell Grandad Phil what we were doing, and he forced me to promise him that I would whenever I was going to test any of your equipment. Please can you go and tell him. I want to speak to Daisy."
Thankfully for her Fitz bought it and sent her a smile before going back down the corridor. Once he was out of sight, Ali quickly walked over to the person with Daisy's face.
"Hey Daisy, you promised to play the game with me once you were back!"
It took all of Ali's training from her mum not to just tackle her to the ground right there and then, but she had to be sure. She managed to keep her face in what she hoped was an adorable pout as she spoke.
The fake Daisy turned around to look at her. Ali could tell that it was a fake smile that was plastered across their face as she spoke,
"I have loads of paperwork to do. Maybe a later."
Ali put a little bit of confusion into her face as she spoke. She knew for sure that this was not the real Daisy as the real Daisy had never promised to play a game with her and never made promises that she didn't keep.
"But you never break your promises?"
The fake Daisy turned back to Ali annoyance was displayed across her fake smile.
"Why don't we play it quickly now then."
"Okay. You have to kneel on the floor and clasp your hands together in front of you like this."
Ali showed the fake Daisy what she wanted her to do, and the fake Daisy did it. From where she was kneeling, Ali knew it would be easy to hold her and keep her contained until Fitz got Coulson or an ICER.
Before the fake Daisy could react, Ali stood up and quickly turned her eyes blue. In the same second she held the person's hands together with ice and attached them to the floor with chains of ice. Her legs had bracelets of ice on them which were stuck to the floor.
The fake Daisy could no longer move her arms or legs.
She was stuck.
Keeping a hold of her ice and making sure that it didn't break or bend out of place was hard and used all of Ali's concentration.
The fake Daisy had paused for a second in shock before starting to try and get out of the ice.
They weren't even surprised that she had powers or that there was a child that hung out at the main SHIELD base.
Ali's head started to hurt. The fake Daisy kept turning themselves into other people in order to try to escape. Ali had to keep adjusting the ice around their wrists and legs in order to prevent them from escaping.
She felt like if she closed her eyes, she would fall asleep. Her head was pounding like it did when the bell rang in her cell.
Everyone second the pain in her head got worse and black spots started to appear in her vision.
If she were to let go now though then she would fall unconscious and the fake Daisy would almost certainly kill her out of spite.
After 30 seconds of the Inhuman changing from person to person they stopped.
A brown-haired woman was now kneeling in front of her. The restraints kept her from moving her legs and arms but that didn't mean that she didn't try. The woman was glaring at Ali with a murderous expression on her face and her hair was knotted and tangled.
The pressure on which she was exerting on Ali's ice was too great for a human and Ali could barely contain it.
She didn't even notice it when her grandad Phil appeared next to her.
At this point the black spots in front of her eyes had become so big that she could barely see. The pain in her head was all that she could feel. It stopped her from being able to hear.
Her Grandad put a hand on her shoulder and that was all it took for the black spots in her eyes to engulf her vision.
Just before she collapsed, she managed to whisper to her Grandad.
"I'm sorry."
