Boys piled up at the doors of the private school, hands filled with flowers and sweets for none other than her, while the girls hurriedly ran fingers through their hair, trying to do nothing less than impress him.

Oh yes, just another normal day of Kurosan Private Preschool for the 2 most admired students there- the Todoroki Siblings.

"Todoroki- chan, PLEASE TOUCH MY HAND!"

"Okay." The youngest sibling smiled sweetly, her finger barely even grazing the top the little boy's palm before he fainted, his friends catching him.

She giggled behind her hand, her long unruly hair cascaded down her back elegantly. Besides her, Shoto sighed, grabbing at her hand and tugging the youngest along.

"Why must you entertain them...?" He sighed, ignoring the looks the infatuated girls in the halls threw his way.

"Because, Sho-chan!" She giggled again, heterochromatic eyes closing in a smile. "They're so cute!" All the male listeners in the hall blushed deeply, all thinking the same thing.

'No...YOU'RE cute!!'

Shoto sighed again, running a small hand down his face before stopping at her class door. He peered inside, seeing the class was safe from his sister's ridiculous male suitors before releasing her hand.

She smiled and jumped on him, giving him a big bear hug that he passively responded to by patting her on the back. "Bye, Sho-chan!" She waved, before heading inside her all-female class.

Their mother, Rei, requested it after hearing the teacher's complaints on students not paying attention due to all the students admiring her from her spot, in the front of the class, due to her overall cuteness.

Todoroki Shira was a split image of her mother, aside from having her father's blue hue on her left eye, opposite of shoto's own. Her long, white hair flowed down her back to the back of her knees, most of the time being tied up in a tight bun due to Kurosan's strict dress code, although she never liked that one rule.

Her big eyes and round cheeks radiated innocence, making Shira near irresistible; and she knew it too.

Shira skipped up to her desk in the very front happily, but not before putting an apple on the teacher's desk.

"Why thank you, Todoroki-san!" The teacher gushed, holding her hand over her heart. Shira giggled, bouncing to to her seat, ready to learn. But as the day flew by, the vibrant child only had one thing in mind-

"SHO-CHAN!" She yelled once they both finally got home, unable to contain her compressed excitement anymore. "Sho-chan, Sho-chan, Sho-,"

"Yes, Shi-chan?" He asked as his twin followed him to their shared room. She ran past the two-toned boy, plopping onto her bed before giggling.

"Its our birthday tomorrow!" Shira giggled, kicking her feet excitedly.

"Yes, I kno-"

"And you know what that means right?! Right, Sho-chan?!" The younger twin cut him off- sitting on her knees to look at him as he sat on his bed.

"Yes, it mea-"

"IT MEANS WE GET OUR QUIRK!" The pearl haired girl screamed in excitement, causing Shoto to sigh exasperatedly.

"...I already know what you're gonna ask..."

"Pleaseee, Sho-chan!!" She begged, jumping off her bed and onto the floor by him, pressing her hands together. "Pretty, pretty please with peppermints on top..."

Shoto huffed, before pulling his stubborn twin off the floor. "Fine, but we have to hurry... before Daddy gets back!" He emphasized strongly. Shira nodded determinedly, already putting on her shoes.

Once they both had their shoes on, they carefully snuck out the window and followed the hidden path to their secret spot: a duck pond.

Shira quickly ran ahead of him once she caught sight of the pond, hurridly opening the pack of bread that they both had brought along. As the twins approached the pond, the ducklings scattered, alerting the mother duck. Shira let out an alarmed squeal as the mother duck chased her around the small area.

"Ahh! I'm sorry Miss duck, wait!!" The girl screamed, throwing bread haphazardly behind her to stop the overprotective bird.

Shoto sighed in exasperation, picking up the bread his twin dropped and sitting criss-cross in front of the pond. He threw a few crumbs into the pond, the baby ducks hesitant before eating it. The fluffy birds let out sounds of approval before swimming over for more.

"SHO-CHANNNN!" Shira whined, still running laps away from the mother duck who was persistent on nipping the girl for scaring her babies.

"Shi- chan. Stop playing around and come feed the birdies! We can't stay long." Shoto said as he gently pet the head of a duckling with his index.

The youngest Todoroki finally ran over to her brother, grabbing a piece of bread and holding it out to the mama duck. The duck paused before grabbing the bread in her beak, and walking back into the water, leading her babies away.

Pouting as the adorable animals left, Shira pulled her knees up to her chest and laid her chin on them. "Aw man.. I missed the duckies," she whined, kicking a bread crumb into the lake.

Her brother only smiled, shifting into the same position. The twins sat there silently, allowing the soft breeze to play in their hair while listening to the peaceful sound of the wildlife around them.

Sighing softly, Shira broke the peaceful silence first. "Sho-chan...?" she whispered quietly, eyes set straight ahead. Said boy looked at her, waiting for her to continue. "What if ... What if we don't get two quirks like Daddy wants... what if he hates us like he hates big brother and big sis..." She whimpered, closing her eyes at the thought.

Shoto was silent for a moment, looking at her before looking away in thought. When he turned towards her, he had a big smile on his face, eyes closed into cresents. "Shi-chan, don't worry! Daddy wouldn't do that, I'm sure he loves all of us, no matter what." Shoto assured, putting his arm around his small sister. "And 'sides, we'll always have each other! Thats what twins do!"

Shira sniffed, looking up at Shoto hopefully. "P-Promise?" She asked, holding up her little pinky. Shoto huffed in determination, wrapping his own small finger around her own.

"I promise!"

•••The Next Day•••

Shira screamed from inside her sisters embrace, huddled in the corner of her bedroom. Fuyumi's frantic comforts went on deaf ears as their father raged from the other side of the house.

"USELESS!!" Enji roared, the sound of furniture crashing shaking their home. The yells of her older brother, Natsuo, and their mother could also be heard, trying to calm the raging man.

"A WASTE!!" Another crash sounded, rocking the house as the youngest hysterically tried to cover her ears and shrink into herself. Her whole world felt numb as she tried her hardest to summon some kind of power, to feel any type of feeling, only to come up empty.

"Shi-chan! Shira, it's okay!" She faintly heard under all the commotion, looking over to see Shoto, who had tears running down his face as well. He jumped into his sisters' embrace, hugging them both tightly. Shira wailed into her twin's shirt, holding onto him for dear life.

"W-W-Why me, Sho-chan?" She hiccuped in despair, wiping at her eyes to no avail. Her throat was burning as she breathed raggedly. "W-Why does Daddy h-hate me now? I-I didn't try to be this wa-way!" She wailed, as Fuyumi's arms held on to her tighter. "You said he wouldn't be mad Sho- chan!"

"Shh, it's okay." Fuyumi soothed shakily, burying her face in her younger sister's hair. She herself didn't know what would happen from this point on. Their father was livid when her, Natsuo, and Touya didn't have 2 quirks. She never even considered the hell that would've raised if they didn't even have 1...

"SHOTO!!!" Their father yelled, shaking the 3 children to the core. Shoto whined, latching onto his older sister tighter.

"Fuyumi, i'm scared..." he whispered shakily, clutching his eyes shut. Fuyumi blew out a breathe. She knew leaving her dad hanging would only upset him more.

Standing up slowly, she carefully grabbed the twins' hands in hers, before looking down at them with reassurance. "It's okay," She smiled, tightning her grip. "Everything's fine..." She said, although she didnt know if she was reassuring them or herself, before leading them out of their room and downstairs cautiously.

Shira sniffled, using her arm to wipe at her wet face as they turned the corner to the living room. As her two-toned eyes fell on the scorch marks and broken furniture litered all across the room, she could feel yourself falling into step behind Fuyumi. The twin avoided the pitying gazes of her older brother and mother, looking down at her bare feet when her pace finally stopped. Then there was silence.

She could feel the gaze of her father's piercing blue eyes drilling through her head, before he scoffed dismissively.

"Shoto." He demanded. Out of the corner of her eye, Shira noticed her twin freeze as he shakily looked up at their father.

"Y-Yes sir-,"

"Show me your power." He ordered, crossing his arms. Shoto froze, quickly glancing at Shira with unease. "Don't look at that quirkless! Look at me!" Shira felt whatever hope she was holding on to crack at the dismissal, blinking back her oncoming tears.

"Don't call her that, you bastard!" Natsuo yelled, taking a step forward only to be pulled back by their mother, Rei. "That's your daughte-,"

"NO child of mine is quirkless!" Enji growled, his flames growing higher as his rage grew.

Shira couldn't choke back the wail that escaped her lips as she yanked away from Fuyumi, running out of the room.

"Shira!" Fuyumi called out, going to chase after her before a blast of fire stopped her in her tracks.

"Let her be... she's nothing but a disgrace in my presence." Enji growled out as he ignored the tiny retreating figure, not bothering a glance in her direction.

'Daddy...Daddy really hates me!' Shira thought as she cried hysterically, drowning out the yells of protest behind her. As the obsedian haired girl ran out of the house, heart-broken, she wondered for the first time, why the world had to be so cruel.

But before she was out of earshot, one last deafening yell covered the Todoroki estate. A final shrill of victory.

'YES, SHOTOOOO!!"

•••

It didn't take long for her to run out of breathe after running, her now 4 year old body just wasn't durable enough yet. She plopped down onto the ground, grass softening her fall as she exhaled tiredly.

Glancing down wearily, her eyes widened at all the cuts and scrapes litering her feet, something she must not have felt because of the adrenaline.

As said adrenaline died down, everything finally hit her at once, her young mind overloading with emotions. She squeezed her eyes shut as she tried to bite back her oncoming sobs, to no avail.

Despair...

Anger...

Guilt...

Jealousy...

Self-hate...

"Why me!" She screamed out to the sky, tears spilling from her shut eyes. "W-Why am I not strong enough!"

"Hey!"

'Sho-chan?' Shira's eyes opened quickly, only

to be met with bright, blonde, and spikey hair instead of the white and red of her brother's. Fierce crimson instead of calm blue and brown. No, this wasn't her twin. She didn't know who this boy was.

"Who... who are you...?" Shira asked cautiously, sitting up and scooting back a bit, looking around. She noticed that the place she had finally collapsed at was the playground her sister Fuyumi used to take her and Shoto before their dad started getting stricter.

At the thought of her father, her shoulders immediately deflated, her eyes going downcast at the boy's shoes.

"I'm Bakugo Katsuki... who the heck are you and why are you at my hero agency, ugly?!" The boy sneered.

Shira's head snapped up at that, her big heterochromatic eyes widening at the foreign words. "Ugly?!" she cried out in disbelief.

"You heard me, ugly! You look like you just crawled out of a swamp! Swamp girl!" He accused, pointing at her.

Looking down, Shira mentally agreed that she DID look like she looked like a swamp girl. Her bare feet were scratched, dirty and a bit bloody from running on pavement. Her soft white dress was now covered in grass and soil, along with her obsedian hair.

She didn't even wanna know what her face looked like.

"W-well, this isnt even a hero agency, stupid! This is a park!" She stammered as she stood, meeting him at eye level. "Stupid boy, stupid boy-"

She cut off as she suddenly collapsed in pain, the worn- off adrenaline now making the pain of her feet become fully apparent. Two small hands caught her before she fell, pulling her up at her shoulders. "Ow ow owie," she cried, leaning into the boy as he supported her weight.

"Hey ugly, watch what you're doing!" Bakugo huffed, before looking down at her feet. He gasped, eyes widening as he looked behind him. "Mommy! C'mere! Hurry up!"

"What now, Brat? I swear if you blew someone up with that damned quirk agai-" The woman paused at the sight of the crying little girl leaned against her son, and immediately scooped the girl up in her arms. Shira wrapped her arms around the woman's neck immediately, feening an adult's comfort as she cried out.

Mitsuki tightened her grip on the crying girl, whispering sweet nothings as she got a peek at her expression, feeling her heart constrict. The poor girl just looked... so exhausted.

Having already made her mind up, the oldest blonde looked at her son, motioning for him to follow her. "C'mon Katsuki. Tell me what happened while we walk."

The boy silently nodded, following along as he stared at the girl in his mother's hold. Her long, powdery white hair, looked soft despite the bit of dirt covering it. Her arms were wrapped tightly around Mitsuki's neck, her eyes tightly shut as they walked, although no more tears escaped.

He looked down at her feet, seeing that the few cuts had stopped bleeding. They looked painful, making him wince at the sight of scratches on such seemingly soft feet. He glanced back up to the girl, freezing in his steps as he caught her staring right at him this time.

Her eyes watched him silently, yet curiously. He quickly looked away, glaring at whatever was at the left of him as he continued his pace, informing his Mother of what happened.

••At the Police Station••

"I'm here!" Fuyumi's l exasperated voice flooded through the station as she burst through the doors of the police station, eyes rigorously scanning for the pure ivory hair of her youngest sibling.

When she had called to file a missing child report and they immediately said they had a girl that fit the description, the ran all the way before even hanging up.

"Yumi- chan!" She suddenly felt arms wrap around her knees, looking down to see the once- again crying face of her, now, dirt covered sister. Her heart broke at the sight, her own hatred for her father starting to build...

"Aw, Shi- chan...", Fuyumi cooed, voice cracking as she scooped her baby sister up in her arms. She ran her fingers through Shira's now slightly matted hair, combing the stray residue from it as she held the weeping girl. Her eyes caught sight of her bandage covered feet as well.

"Y-Yumi- chan... does Daddy still h-hate me?" Shira asked quietly, locking eyes with Fuyumi. "Am I gonna end up... like Touy-"

Fuyumi shushed her, holding her tighter so that she couldn't see the uncertainty in her grey eyes. In all honesty, Fuyumi saw no trace of regret in her fath- no, Endeavor's eyes even after the youngest of them all ran away into the world, defenseless and alone. She didn't know who she was more worried for- Shira... or Shoto.

"C'mon, lets go, okay?" She whispered, exhaling deeply. Shira silently nodded into her neck, wrapping her arms around her again.

Although, before she could step out from the station, another small hand tapped at her leg. Fuyumi looked down curiously, catching sight of a little scowling blonde haired boy, around Shira's age. Shira also peeked over, seeing what the delay was.

"Hey, Ugly! You just gonna leave after me and Mommy brought you over here and fixed your owies?! Who do you thi-" Bonk. "HEY! What was that for, you cow!" The young boy growled, mini explosions sounding from his hands. Shira's eyes widened in amazement at the sight, hurriedly wiggling to get released by her sister.

"Shut up you brat!" Mitsuki growled, stepping past her son and up to Fuyumi, hand outreached towards the teen. "I'm sorry for my son, he's not the brightest."

"Hey!"

Fuyumi giggled, sitting her wriggly sister on the ground before grasping the woman's hand for a shake. "Oh no ma'am, it's no problem! After all, Shira doesn't seem to mind." She smiled, gesturing behind the woman to the two children talking animatedly.

Shira gushing over his quirk in amazement as Katsuki puffed his chest out proudly, showing off his quirk to the mesmerized girl. Then it appeared Katsuki asked her something which made her deflate slightly. Katsuki's eyes widened at what the girl told him before huffing, speaking determinedly. Everyone silenced at what he said next:

"Hmph! You won't need a quirk anyways! I'll protect you and become the next Number 1 hero, just you watch, ugly!"

Shira stared at him as he stood proud after his declaration, no hesitation nor regret in his eyes as he stared right back at her. Speechless, the youngest Todoroki coughed in shock, only to be met with a cloud of dust.

Once again, silence flooded them as everyone looked at the frozen young girl.

"... Was that smoke?"
