A/N I literally just randomly thought bout all of this. I don't know if all of this is correct, but you know what it's a parody, laugh a little.

Disclaimer: I do not own the Inheritance Cycle.

Arya stood in front of the mirror admiring her reflection. She found that she was a beautiful elf a, perfect representation of what she wanted to look like. Her midnight and emerald eyes gave her a mystical and mature appearance that matched her personality perfectly.

But she wanted a change in her appearance. Something subtle but stunning, something that would continue to match her personality, enhance it even. She simply wanted something different.

The ancient language was a peculiar thing that she new how to use well. Ass long as she believed and envisioned her words would mean little. She could turn water into a diamond if she saw the connection between the two and could change her appearance with two small words and look like a completely different person.

"Hernskja Erni" she mumbled.

She waited for a reaction, some sort of change but nothing had happened. She mumbled the words again and again but still there was no reaction.

"Hernskja Erni!" she yelled this time, but still nothing.

She couldn't be pronouncing it wrong, shed been saying it like that her whole life and it had worked. Perhaps her magic had been blocked somehow.

"Adurna"

The water from a vase to her left began to levitate over the roses in it. She left it there for a few seconds, waiting for the magic to stope. When it didn't, she gently replaced the water and looked into the mirror again. Her magic was obviously still there, so why wasn't it working.

She looked in the mirror again trying to see if she had missed something but found nothing noticeably different. She repeated the words one more time, and there was still nothing.

I'll have to speak to my council about this. Perhaps I'm not the only one having these difficulties.

"Arya"

The addressed paused for a moment. She had not heard that voice in a long time, not since he left to see the unknown lands. When she turned around, she found the face of the man she had fallen in love with all those years ago.

"Eragon!"

She jumped into the boy's arms, overwhelmed with joy that she was with him once more.

"It's been too long," she said removing herself from his arms.

"Aye, it has," he replied.

It dawned on her then that she should tell him about the recent events. It was possible he new what had happened, or at least could help her find out. Unless of course that was why he was here. Had something happened out in the unknown lands?

"Eragon, I don't want to burden you with such news now, especially since I haven't seen you in so long, but I believe it is something you must know."

"What is it?"

"I'm not completely sure. I was trying to alter my appearance, but the spell I was using wasn't working. I know it's not my magic though, because I can still use it."

There was a short pause as his face changed into thought. He was obviously thinking about the cause which meant that he had no prior knowledge to this situation.

"What spell where you using?"

"Hernskja Erni"

He tilted his head to the side slightly in attempt to hide his face. Even with his efforts she could still see the red blush that had crept onto his cheeks. What could have possibly brought his blushing? Was he mocking her?

Before she could ask him, he had answered her question.

"Hernskja Erni, that means beautiful, don't it?" He said changing into his native language.

"Yes" she answered skeptically.

"Well, the reason your spell wasn't working is because it no longer does."

"What do you mean?"

"Beautiful, the word has been changed from Hernskja Erni."

"How?"

"Using the Name of Names."

She stared at him in surprise. How and when had Hernskja Erni been changed. Why was also a good question seeing as the language was so ancient? What idiot decided to change an ancient word!

She was about to ask all of these questions out loud when another thought hit her. How did Eragon know this?

"Eragon?"

"Aye"

"What exactly s the word for beautiful"

His blush returned once more, and she could sense a lecture approaching from her.

"Arya"

"Yes?"

" Arya, that's the word for beautiful."

"And how do you know this?"

"Because I changed it."

"WHAT!"

This was unbelievable! How dare he change an ancient word from an ancient language, the Ancient Language. He was insulting ancestor and those who created the language by doing this. A dragon rider committing such a dishonorable action it was unbelievable.

"Why in the world would you do that! That was the stupidest thing you could have ever done you know that!"

"Calm don, Arya, I was just trying to gift you with something that the world wou- "

"No, I don't care what you were thinking this is a terrible crime you have committed."

"I just wanted to give you something everyone could appreciate. I wanted to give you something no one else could, doesn't that prove how much I love you?"

No, it doesn't she though to herself. A gift is something she could hold and cherish; this was a desperate act to sweep someone off their feet. Unfortunately for Eragon Arya had much balance.

"I'm sorry Eragon but this is not a gift in my eyes, only an insult. If you could change the word back to Hernskja Erni I would be pleased, and we could go on with our day without the thought of these events."

He didn't do anything for a moment, perhaps contemplating whether he should or not then gave in.

"Alright, I'll change it back."

Later Eragon contemplated his thoughts on the events of the day.

"I was Positive that it would work, what girl wouldn't want her name to be the word for beauty?"

"An ancient elf who doesn't want people to mess up her language?" his companion, Murtagh, suggested.

"Good point."
