I don't own the Jumanji franchise.
This story is a sequel to my Jumanji 4 pitch, The Missing Warrior.
"Bethany! Time to get up for school!"
Bethany Vreeke let out a yawn as she sat up in bed. She'd had such a weird and wonderful dream, the details of which were fading from memory. Rubbing her eyes, she got out of her bed and made it neatly.
Still sleepy, she made her way to the bathroom and opened the door. Something felt strangely off to her this morning, but she couldn't tell what. Only when she went over to the sink did she figure it out.
There in the mirror, staring back at her, was the face of her Jumanji avatar, Spitfire Jayne.
The ten-year-old girl stifled a scream. It wouldn't do to alarm her parents this early in the morning. If she'd changed into Jayne in her sleep, there had to be a way to change herself back.
Bethany hurried to her bedroom, hoping to get there before her parents noticed. She searched the room frantically, looking for anything she could use.
Under her pillow, she found a large jewel which had mysteriously appeared. It shone with all the colours of the rainbow and was dazzling to behold.
The little girl was mesmerised. The familiar drumbeats sounded in her ears, and once more, she felt the call of the dangerous jungle game known as JUMANJI.
