Author's Notes:
What if Naruto had a piece of the current Reiō's reiatsu that would adapt and grow around his very own soul? What if there were only a few people concerned for Naruto's well-being? What would happen if Naruto finally snapped?
To say the least, this will be much darker and depressing fanfic than most. So be warned. Naruto will be neglected since birth with very few people by his side for the journey which we all call life. Naruto will be the jinchuriki of the Kyubi No Yoko, however, there will be one major change to the nine tails. The nine tails will be able to absorb the fellow tailed beasts.
The individual personalities of all the tailed beast will be able to come to the forefront of the Kurama. Think of it as the other tailed beasts speaking through Kurama's body.
In this story, Naruto will be smarter and more mature than in canon as he needs to be to fit the mood of the story. I have no intentions of saying anything about parings right now because I don't see the need as I don't want you guys to know what's coming. Even though you'll be able to guess the pairing within this chapter if you have half a brain.
At some point later on I do plan on incorporating something from another series into this story.
One more thing before we get into this I want to give a major thank you to Darth Tenibris2 and Ferduran because they have both given me an inspiration of sorts for this story.
Anyways let's get into this!
It was a bright and sunny day in the beautiful village of Konohagakure (Village Hidden In the Leaves) for most. All across town, there were celebrations of the defeat of the dreaded nine tails at the hands of the fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze. Many people were attending celebrations with family or mourning over the lives lost in the conflict, however, there was a lone boy who no one dared go near. This boy is known as Naruto Uzumaki but to the villagers and Shinobi of the village, he is just a painful reminder of that horrendous day. The third Hokage had completely forgotten of the young jinchuriki due to the sorrow of his wife's late death at the hands of the nine-tailed-demon fox.
The third Hokage purposely revealed that Naruto was the jinchuriki of the ten tails just to make the young child's life harder than it already was. Naruto's suffering only intensified because of this. Naruto felt this unbearable weight and pressure seeping into his mind. It was driving him insane, but, who was there to tell?
Everyone in the village except for a certain Uzumaki and Uchiha were happy that the boy was suffering. The child had nothing to his name except for a small apartment, that he shared with a fellow Uzumaki and a black katana with the kanji for the word "full" acting as a guard. This katana had the kanji for creation (創造) and the kanji for destruction (破壊) engraved into the lower blade of the black and white sword. The handle of the blade was constructed of a white peg (handle) wrapped in a black handle wrap. (A/N If you know what sword it is don't say anything as I plan on fletching this out in the next few chapters.)
Konoha's Academy
"Everyone pay attention!" - Iruka screamed towards his students who were currently goofing off. Most of his students were either talking amongst themselves or just ignoring Iruka. The only two people who were paying attention were the two last remaining Uzumaki, Naruto and Mayumi. While Naruto wasn't giving Iruka his full attention he noticed that Naruto was also working on something.
Iruka did the head signs for patented "big head jutsu" and screamed, "Pay attention now!" All of his students except for Shikamaru were now paying attention, yet Iruka knew that Shikamaru was still listening just not looking towards the board. "Tomorrow will be your graduation exams to see if you meet the requirements to become a genin. You do not have to take the test if you still feel unprepared for them, however, I would advise that you do." - Iruka said now relaxed that his students were now paying attention.
"Anyways before we end our class for the day I would like all of you to participate in a sparring match against one of your classmates." - Iruka said seeing most of the students perk up at hearing this. Many of the students were tired of sitting down and learning about the most optimal way to channel chakra through their bodies.
"Okay first up will be Mayumi Uzumaki versus Ino Yamanaka." Iruka said as both girls got up without needing to be told to. "First off no killing or crippling blows and this is a taijutsu bout only." - Iruka said satisfied when both girls gave a quick now. "Okay please do the sign signifying that this will be a fair match." Both girls did the hand sign agreeing to the terms of the match. Both girls got into their respective stances with Ino's having many flaws versus Mayumi's stance having nearly no flaws.
"Hajime!" - Iruka said while slicing the air between the two girls. With that, both competitors shot towards each other with Mayumi reaching Ino first and going for a hard punch towards the blonde's face. Only to be narrowly blocked by Ino's lower forearm.
Ino tried to counter with a low sweeping leg kick only to be left confused when Mayumi simply jumped while going for a kick of her own to Ino's gut. The kick connected with Ino's gut causing the blonde to be left slightly winded.
Mayumi, however, was not going to let Ino recover as in a real battle no such action would be permitted. Mayumi quickly threw a right hook towards Ino's face again to be narrowly blocked again. This process kept repeating with Ino getting hit by one of Mayumi's blows and be left narrowly dodging a finishing blow.
"Ino this repeating process is starting to bore me." - Mayumi said to the blonde trying to get her angry. Ino responded right as Mayumi expected her to. Ino tried to throw a punch towards Mayumi only for her fist to be caught.
Mayumi quickly flipped Ino to the ground and held a hand to her neck signifying that she had won. "Concede." - Mayumi said. Given her current situation, Ino conceded.
"Winner, Mayumi Uzumaki!" - Iruka exclaimed loudly. "Now will Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha please step up." - Iruka continued seeing that both contestants were fine.
Naruto and Sasuke both stepped up with Naruto saying, "So damn pointless." Sasuke of course was angered by this but could not do anything.
Naruto and Sasuke stood face to face repeating the half ram seal signifying that they were both ready. "Hajime!" - Iruka said. Naruto simply fell into a basic stance as he would never use his taijutsu style against Sasuke of all people. Sasuke fell into the interceptor fist stance.
"Go Sasuke! Mop the floor with this dobe!" - Sasuke's horny fangirls screamed. Most students had to cover their ears as they in fact liked their ability to hear, unlike Sasuke's fangirls.
"Oh, kami! Can all of you shut the hell up!" - Naruto exclaimed rubbing his temples. Naruto's senses were what you could call animal-like. His eyesight, hearing, and sense of smell were far stronger than even the Inuzuka, who are known for their strong senses, due to the Kyubi No Yoko being sealed within. Naruto's senses were heightened to the point that if he focused enough he could hear someone's heartbeat or even see their muscle contort and contract if not obstructed by clothing.
Taking advantage of Naruto's brief moment of being unfocused Sasuke quickly shot for aiming a sharp knee towards Naruto's side. Naruto could already hear Sasuke coming so he simply stopped Sasuke's attempt at attack with a simple kick to Sasuke's upper chest. "You know Sasuke it isn't very nice to try and attack someone off-guard but oh well what can you do?" - Naruto asked as he shot towards Sasuke and speeds no academy student should be able to move at. Naruto was what you could call cut above the rest. Naruto often trained himself for days on end knowing that he had monstrous reserves of stamina and chakra that seemed to never deplete.
Naruto quickly closed the gap between him and Sasuke while delivering a hard punch to the Uchiha's face. Sasuke was sent flying backward, but he managed to flip onto his feet. However, this wouldn't do much good for him as he saw our favorite blonde Uzumaki appear right in front of him with his arm reeled back ready to throw a devastating blow.
Sasuke seeing this tried to react but found himself unable to do so. Sasuke looked up and saw that the air around Naruto was rippling with an unknown power, but what Sasuke did know was that he was about to get knocked out. Sasuke looked directly into Naruto's violet eyes only to see the intent to kill and pure instinct.
Naruto stopped his punch right in front of the Uchiha's face just barely avoiding hitting Sasuke dead in the teeth. "Ha! Sorry about that Sasuke." - Naruto in a calm voice to the frightened Uchiha. "You look like you've seen a ghost or something." Sasuke was still in his daze whenever he saw Naruto offering him a hang to help him up.
"Hn, I don't need your help dobe." - Sasuke snarled upset at the fact at how someone could manage to beat him so easily. Sasuke trained himself into the ground every day yet couldn't even be a simple dobe. "Will I ever be strong enough to kill you?" - Sasuke asked Itachi mentally.
Sasuke got up and walked over to his seat so that he could brute and plot Itachi's demise. Iruka seeing that Sasuke was simply salty at how he, an Uchiha, was so easily bested by the dobe. "I declare, Uzumaki Naruto the winner of this spar!" - Iruka said knowing what was about to come from the horny fangirls.
"What!" - Sakura screeched firest nearly making all of the students' eardrums bleed in the process. "There's no way that Naru-baka could have beaten Sasuke! So Naruto must have cheated Iruka-Sensei!" Nearly all of the students excluding Sasuke's fangirls, who ride his meat stick, saw how easily Naruto beat the emo Uchiha. They all knew that Sasuke had lost yet dumbass Sakura thought that Naruto had cheated.
"Okay, Sakura could you please explain how I managed to cheat when over 20 different people were watching me?" - Naruto asked in an annoyed tone. He didn't know why he was doing this. Maybe just for the joy of getting Sakura to shut the fuck up for once in her pathetic life.
"You cheated baka. You somehow made Sasuke freeze up for no reason! It was clear that you cheated!" - Sakura screeched hoping to prove Naruto wrong for once.
"First off you're completely wrong. And second off that was simply killer intent that was strong enough to make Sasuke freeze up. It's something much like this." - Naruto said staring into Sakura's eyes as he released enough killer intent to drop her to her knees and start sweating.
"Naruto cut it out!" - Ino screamed towards the blonde who had made her closest friend drop to her knees with just pure killer intent. Naruto, however, didn't let up on his mental assault on the pink-haired girl.
It was only when a certain girl walked up and slapped the shit out of the blonde when he stopped. "Cut it out dumbass! Are you trying to send her to the hospital? You of all people should know that they can't withstand that." - Mayumi said after slapping the lively shit out of Naruto.
"Yea, yea, whatever. These bastards will get what's coming to them though. All of the..." - Naruto was saying when he received another hard slap across the face. "What the hell, Mayumi?!"
"Quit it right now, Naruto." - Mayumi screamed at the blonde who was just looking annoyed if anything. Many of their classmates were just watching in amusement as Naruto was getting screamed at. Even the almighty Sasuke Uchiha had cracked a smile at this.
Hearing the snickers of his classmates was enough for Naruto who had quite the short fuse at the moment. "Shut your mouths now!" - Naruto yelled as the air seemed to shimmer in unknown energy. This silenced a majority of the students, however, Kiba of course had to open his mouth.
"And what if we don't Naruto what are gonna do? Kill us?" - Kiba said with a laugh. Unknown to Kiba is that the thought had passed through Naruto's mind. Kiba would soon regret that statement as he was on the ground from having his head smashed against the desk.
Many were confused at this but looked up to see the blonde standing in the same position with an evil-looking smirk. "I'd suggest that if any of you have anything else to say that you say it now." - Naruto said in a commanding tone. One student was about to open their mouth but quickly shut it when he saw what appeared to be a tall black-haired teenager, dressed in a flowing white robe standing behind Naruto with his hand on Naruto's shoulder. The man also seemed to have the remnants of a broken mask on the left side of his head. This broken mask had a horn sticking out of it.
"Anyway's I'm out of here. Mayumi you'll know where to find me if you need me." - Naruto said disappearing in what appeared to be a signless shunshin. This was far beyond an ordinary shunshin though.
Uzumaki Compound - Konoha
"Ahh!" - Naruto screamed as a piece of cloth bathed in rubbing alcohol was pressed against his deeply cut and bruised skin. "That hurts you know?"
"Yeah well maybe you should try to not get all cut up like this." - a female voice said to Naruto. "I still don't understand why the villagers feel the need to attack you."
"How the hell am I supposed to do that Mayumi? There isn't much I can do about that and besides these weren't from the villagers these were something else." - Naruto said to the girl sitting next to him who was currently trying to help his injuries. However unknown to their knowledge there was someone else listening. In particular a bored nine-tailed fox.
"I know that Naruto, it just pains me to see you get hurt like this." - Mayumi said softly to Naruto who had a blush slowly start to form. Mayumi looked into Naruto's eyes and could see the pain and loneliness present. " Wait Naruto..."
"Yes?" - Naruto asked something wrong. Naruto noted the concerned expression, the caring look, and the apprehension in her eyes. Naruto knew that she tried to relate to him but always knew that she couldn't fully understand.
To be blunt, Mayumi was nearly everything Naruto was not. Mayumi was popular, praised, considered one of the best talents in their class, and most importantly of all, she wasn't hated by the village. Really the only thing they had in common was their intelligence. They were both extremely perceptive and wise for their age. They were both ranked at the top of the class though it was much harder for Naruto as most of his teachers would try and fail him no matter what.
Naruto was on a different level than Mayumi though. Due to him being forced to mature very early on just to survive the villagers' constant hate and abuse. Naruto had forced himself to be put on a mental level that many would only think a hardened veteran could be on. Naruto was smart about all of his decisions, confident in his plan-making, and most important of all he was simply confident in his own mental fortitude and will. Not many people could say that they could survive a village full of people hating you along with the ten tails trying to break your psyche. Naruto, however, was always sad due to how he was treated by everyone.
"If these cuts and bruises weren't from the villagers then how did you manage to get all of these cuts and bruises?" - Mayumi finally asked after quite the long silence. Naruto was taken affront by this question mainly because he only had one answer in mind.
"I'll tell you if you keep it a secret." - Naruto whispered while searching her eyes for any deception. Mayumi's eye's displayed nothing but concern. Naruto continued before she could say anything. "I managed to get these cuts after I disappeared from the academy today." - Naruto said with a sad smile.
"Naruto..." - Mayumi began. Naruto and Mayumi heard a cough from a teenage Uchiha standing in the doorway of the room.
"Was I interrupting something?" - the Uchiha asked. "I mean you two just need to kiss already." - the Uchiha said biting back a laugh. Both of the children had blushes forming at the comment. The Uchiha smirked at this but said, "Anyways supper it's time to go and train love birds."
"Yes, you were but it's unimportant right now. I have something to show the both of you." - Naruto said in a serious tone that indicated that neither of them had a choice in the matter. Naruto was looking dead serious but his eyes looked clouded as if he had something on his mind.
"Okay, then Naruto." - Shisui began. "Mind telling us what it is before so we can be warned?"
"No, that won't be possible, however, what is the place where the least amount of shinobi will be training?" - Naruto asked in the same icy tone.
"Hmm, something seems off. Naruto never hides anything. And besides, if he were asking such a question then it would be of the utmost importance." - Shisui thought with a puzzled expression. There was just something off about it. Naruto would never do such a thing as this.
"Anyway's the place where shinobi wouldn't be is the training grounds for the Hokage, but none of us are allowed over there considering it's only for the Hokage and his private anbu." - Shisui said rather perplexed at Naruto's reaction. Instead of having an understanding reaction Naruto had none as if he knew where they were going right away.
"Oh no, Naruto. You can't be thinking of snea..." - Shisui was saying whenever he, Mayumi, and Naruto were all transported to the inside of the Hokage's training grounds. "Damn you Naruto. Do you know how much trouble we'll be in if we get caught." - Shisui said about to go and smack the blonde only to be reminded of a painful truth.
"None. You know that I have access to these training grounds as I am the son of the Yondaime Hokage." - Naruto said while unsheathing his sword. "I thought that all anbu officers knew this knowledge."
"But anyways you might what to stand back. What I am about to do can be rather destructive and loud." - Naruto said with more emphasis towards Mayumi than Shisui. It was pretty obvious why, but Mayumi seemed to not be able to understand it.
Wanting to pry more and annoy the blonde a little Mayumi asked, "And why should we do that Naruto-Kun. Are you scared that we might get hurt?"
"If you feel like dying from the release of something this strong then go right ahead. I won't stop you." - Naruto said without any strand of hesitation or deception. Naruto would have said something about the Naruto-Kun thing as Mayumi knew how much it annoyed him, but he simply didn't have the energy after what he was put through early in the day. "Well actually, we both know that isn't true. I would stop you Mayumi, but not Shisui he's simply too annoying to try and stop. If anything I might just ask him to stand in the way." - Naruto said with a mocking smile.
Mayumi felt annoyed that Naruto was considered for her at the mere release of a technique and also touched that he would openly display his concern for her. Shisui, however, was not super happy at the comment. "What the hell do you mean you wouldn't stop me? I am literally the one who raised you Naruto!" - Shisui cried out in annoyance.
Naruto had gotten just the reaction that he had wanted from Shisui but chose to continue instead of acting on it as he would usually do. "Anyways let's do this already. And again please stand back." - Naruto asked seriously this time. When both Mayumi and Shisui found no hint of lies then both stepped backward as Naruto began.
"Hmm, so let's see he said to try and reach deep within my soul to find the source and then say the words that first come to mind." - Naruto thought thinking about what he was told by the man earlier.
Shisui was studying Naruto's face and body movements to try and deduce what was going on but was unable to, causing the usually great anbu officer to get a little flustered. Mayumi on the other hand just found herself relieved when Naruto seemed to relax.
Naruto was slowly thinking about this when he remembers what the man had said, "Observe yourself and the blade. Think of it, not as a mere blade but an extension of your very soul itself." That's when it came to Naruto.
"Hmm, so think of it as an extension of my very soul. So I need to look within for the answer." - Naruto thought before growing a sharp grin that threatened to fall off his face because of how large it was. "Now I get it."
Shisui and Mayumi were both thinking the same thing when they heard a sound, "It would appear that Naruto is searching for something." Whenever they saw that shit-eating grin was when they realized, "He seems to have found it." That's when they heard...
"Corrupt, Hakaijitsu." - in a low voice from Naruto as reddish-black energy started emerging from the kanji for destruction engraved on the handle of the black and white blade. This strange energy would start to emit around Naruto and the sword turning the blade completely black and red. The energy was what could be described as feeling as it was violently trying to tear through the very atoms of the air itself. The energy could be described as destructive and violent in nature.
Naruto, however, was not faring too well as he had not thought that the release of the sword would be so potently powerful. He grit his teeth in agony as he tried to contain in the best he could, but was unable to as the energy was far too powerful and vast to contain within such a small form factor with his current skill level.
Hokage's Office
Hiruzen Sarutobi was sitting in his chair glaring at the paperwork with a burning hatred when he suddenly felt the ground violently shaking from behind the Hokage tower. "WHAT THE HELL IS THAT!" - Hiruzen shouted. "The only thing that could release such a violent power is the Kyubi no Yoko, but this energy doesn't feel like chakra. At least I can rule out the Kyubi of breaking out of its seal."
"Well, I better go and investigate before someone else can because if this is something of danger then I don't need the civilian and shinobi councils finding out about this," Hiruzen said when looked towards the Hokage's training grounds only to see a large pillar of reddish-black energy emitting from the center of the grounds. Hiruzen was about the start the hand signs for a shunshin whenever he saw two people running towards the grounds atop of the rooftops. The two were running right next to each other indicating that they were in the same vicinity before this all started.
"Hmm, so both Kakashi Hatake and Anko Mitarashi are going to investigate. I guess I should just let them tend to this matter. They would both be better suited for something such as this than myself." -Hiruzen said with a chuckle. Hiruzen just sat there for the next couple of minutes thinking about how he needed another successor and that he was getting too old for this job.
Konoha's Rooftops
"Kakashi, what the hell is that energy?" - Anko asked expecting the silver-haired pervert to know something. However, she would be completely wrong to assume such a thing as the silver-haired prodigy knew nothing of the matter.
"I know nothing of this release of extraordinary energy. Though I can assume that it is not chakra due to the composition feeling otherworldly, unlike normal chakra." - Kakashi said coldly thinking back to the time when he saw Naruto of the Uzumaki clan release something similar when he was looking after the kid from afar to make sure Shisui was doing his task properly. "Could it be Naruto, again?"
"Wow, Kakashi that was really fucking insightful." - Anko said slightly annoyed at Kakashi for being so cold even after their previous not so safe for work interaction the previous night. (A/N Let your mind fill in the blank to what they were doing)
"Yea, yea, anyways we should really get there and investigate already." - Kakashi said. Receiving the nod from Anko they both disappeared into the training grounds with a leaf shunshin.
Hokage's Training Grounds
"What the hell is going on?" - a demanding voice said from behind Shisui and Mayumi. "You'd better get to explaining." - the voice said referencing towards Shisui.
"Yea, yea whatever Kakashi." - Shisui said smirking towards his former leader in the anbu black ops. "So pretty much what happened was Naruto Uzumaki said that he wanted to show us something, but we needed to go to a secluded area." - Shisui explained continuing after receiving nods from the two Jonin present. "He then brought us here and told us to stand back while he did something. Once we stood back he said the words, "Corrupt, Hakaijitsu" and then reddish-black energy started emerging from the blade. The energy shot up into a large pillar and then that's it." - Shisui finally finished as he pointed his thumb towards the boy who was looking with extreme determination to contain such vast power.
"Okay that explains how, but what in hell is it?" - Anko finally asked breaking a long silence. "It certainly isn't chakra because chakra could never be so strong and violent as that energy."
"Can you all stop talking about me like I'm not even here?" - Naruto asked between gritted teeth. All of them turned towards the blonde who was currently straining himself to try to contain the first release of his reiatsu. "And to answer your question about what the energy is. That is simply none of your goddamn business. What matters is that if I can't contain it then it will fully release into a violent explosion." - Nauto managed.
Naruto was making slow progress and felt that he just needed one more push to finally contain it whenever he heard someone talking, "Umm, excuse me brat, but after you're done you'll be talking to the Hokage about this." - Anko said not wanting the brat to get away with insulting them.
"Yea, yea just shut up or leave. You're so damn annoying." - Naruto said as he could feel his anger beginning to flare. Naruto was pretty sure that Shisui was going to say something but he was cut off when Anko shot back at him.
"Who do you think you're talking to. I'll admit that you have some nerve kid, but that isn't an exu..." - Anko said.
"Shut up" - Naruto shouted. His anger finally visibly showing. Naruto's face started to contort as the anger seeped out. The reiatsu flowing out of him following in a similar way as it started to intensify as his anger boiled.
"Goddammit!" - Naruto shouted as he pushed and pushed the reiatsu into the sword. Naruto's face would contort showing how pissed he was getting.
Everyone was watching in amazement at what was happening. The reddish-black reiatsu was responding to Naruto's emotions in a way very unlike chakra. Yet the only one who could sense the inner depths of the reiatsu was Mayumi. Everyone then heard...
"Ahhh!" - from Naruto as he gave one final push finally managing to stop the release of the reiatsu from the blade. "Okay time to sleep." - Naruto said as he fell to the ground.
"Naruto!" - Mayumi shouted as she ran towards the now falling Naruto. Mayumi managed to catch the drained blonde before he hit the ground just simply landing right into her arms. Mayumi had tears falling from her eyes that were hitting Naruto's as she buried her head into it.
Okay, so I hope you enjoyed this chapter. The ending might not be the greatest but there isn't much I can do about that. I was forced to write the ending on my phone and we all know how much it sucks typing on a small phone screen. Anyways leave your review down below and peace!
