Chapter 1: Virus Outbreak
The City of Townsville! A place that, like any other place, has its own fair share of technology. Like back when Mojo was still fighting against the girls before he revived them; but he's living outside of Townsville now. Since then, the only form of evil technology we've seen comes from Silico himself. For example: the very thing that led to the girls' fusion ability, Silicon Bubbles; a robotic clone created to only serve Silico; and supposedly persuade the other sisters that she's the real one. Unfortunately, she had one flaw; her personality. Unlike the cheery Bubbles, Silicon Bubbles holds a more dangerous personality; always destroying the nearest bit of property. But today isn't about her, today is about... well, the title of this chapter explains it all. Wow we're not even halfway through and a fourth wall break has already been made by moi. So, Professor Utonium was just down in his lab; looking over statistics for a new chemical brew he was making, it was going so well until the screens started glitching out. "What the? What's going on here?" The Professor said out loud to himself. A face with only one eye and a sleek fin coming off the back of its head appeared on screen for a split-second. The Professor was able to catch a glimpse of it when it appeared a second time. He quickly brought out a sheet of paper and drew down a picture of said face; he then immediately ran up to his daughters' room and showed them the image. "Do you see this image here girls?" He asked them.
"Yeah. Is it a dolphin?" Bubbles asked.
"No it isn't. I found this on the glitchy monitors in my lab." The Professor explained.
"Wait. You saw that on your lab monitors? That's strange I saw it on the TV just now too!" Blossom exclaimed. "Seriously; take a look!" The TV was glitching and the face appeared for a brief second. The screen suddenly filled with static and a face with glowing green eyes showed up. It was Silico. "You again!?" She yelled out.
Silico was joined by a pair of dark blue eyes; making an ecstatic expression. "Hello girls, Professor, I'm sure you're wondering what's happening with all the technology in the area. Let's just say, it's a new ally of mine. His name is Viroton; the master virus. He's been made by me to end the life of all technology; except for mine of course. And with all technology out of the way, I'll quickly take over Townsville; and then you three... will be no more." Silico was busy monologuing that he didn't realize the girls were half-asleep by this point. The Professor was terrified from all of this.
"Hey! Brats! Wake up!" Silicon Bubbles yelled out. They didn't. "Silico, you may wanna cover your ears." He did as told, and Silicon Bubbles turned her arm into an airhorn; and then she blared it, waking up the girls. "That's better. It's no fun talking to people who don't listen."
"How can we even stop it? That virus only exists in the computer system, and we live outside of a computer!" Buttercup complained.
"Ask your sister. You have been thrown into the computer world before." Silico then shut off the camera screen; and the flashing head image reappeared as a still image.
"Which... sister?" Buttercup asked out loud; but she was asking herself in that scenario.
"Hmm... *gasps because she remembered* Bubbles!" Blossom yelled out.
"Me? Oh yeah, I did do that." Bubbles reminded herself.
"Do you think you can do it again?" Buttercup asked.
"Don't you remember the current situation we're in? None of the technology works here! None of it works anywhere!" Bubbles reminded her sisters.
The sisters used their x-ray vision and the Professor looked outside to see people struggling with their computers, phones, tablets, anything that has a screen really. "Ironic; it only seems to be affecting things with a screen." Blossom stated.
"That's dumb; so it's still technically possible to get in then?" Buttercup asked.
"I hope I can somehow pull it off; where are the teleporters? Bring in the third one too." Bubbles ordered. Her sisters did as instructed; they opened a secret compartment and revealed the items Bubbles used to send her sisters into the computer world in the first place. "Good; now Professor, I want you to follow these steps specifically." She pulled out a sticky note and had the Professor read off of it.
"You think I'll be able to do this?" The Professor asked.
"Of course. You're the second smartest person I know!" Bubbles told him.
"Who's the first?" He then asked.
"Blossom!" She replied.
"Flattery won't get us there faster; c'mon Professor!" Blossom ordered.
"Oh right, of course. Now let's see here... ctrl-v? Oh I think I got it!" The Professor said.
"Let's get digital girls!" Blossom yelled out; then all three girls were sent into the computer world. When they spawned in, their skin was crawling with electricity, their appearance was slightly off as well; as their eyes were only one color. Blossom's scarf was shaped into a bolt shape, the mini bows in Bubbles' hair are pointed, and Buttercup's robotic arm gained fingers; they also had no visible mouths. "Wow; wait, why does my voice sound different?" Blossom asked in her normal voice; but with a voice effect that sounded nearly robotic. "It's a good thing we were able to get in here before the computer got corrupted; right girls?" She asked.
"Yeah. Though I didn't realize our designs would change as we entered; this didn't happen last time." Buttercup explained; checking out her robotic arm's enhancements. She swung it out and it extended farther; it was kind of like a whip upgrade. "Whoa... okay, I could get used to this." She said as she accidentally fired a laser from the palm of it.
"Okay; so if Buttercup's strange new cyber power affects her arm, how does it affect us?" Bubbles asked. She tapped her X-hancement ring, (A/N: Refer back to Chemical X-Hancements for an explanation) expecting it to do something. It didn't; instead of simply activating it just didn't do anything. "Wha?" Bubbles felt scared by this; she went to scratch her head in confusion, and became even more confused when she suddenly had a visor appear over her face, and holographic keyboard appear in front of her.
"I was wondering why that button on your head was there." Said Blossom.
"Hmm... a keyboard and- whoa! This is actually pretty cool!" Through her visor, Bubbles was able to scan her every surroundings. She started typing something in the form of a code, and out of the blue a rabbit spawned in front of her. "I can create things!" The rabbit then despawned. "It's... limited..." She started to frown. "At least we know what I can do now!" Bubbles' smile returned.
"So what can I do then?" Blossom asked herself. "No time to check ourselves out, we need to go." She then dashed off; well 'dashed' isn't the right term in this scenario; more like 'warped' off, turning into a ball of electric energy. She stopped to regain herself. "So that's what I can do? Interesting; it's kinda like teleportation in a way." Then she actually 'dashed' off this time; followed by her sisters. Buttercup was pulling off a Spiderman style with her arm.
"So where do you think we'll find the master virus?" Bubbles asked.
"We'll know it when we see it; remember, its head looks kinda like a fish." Blossom reminded her.
"Hey guys! You ever realize this place kinda looks like Townsville!?" Buttercup yelled out to ask.
All three of them stopped and Buttercup retracted her arm. "Weird. I've only just realized that. This doesn't look anything related to the last form of it we saw." Blossom pointed out.
"We should call it the City of Cybersville! We'll be called the Cyberpuff Girls; antivirus programs of this city!" Bubbles said enthusiastically.
"Not important; though it does sound nice. Wait we're getting off track here, where is that virus?" Blossom changed the subject. She suddenly saw something cowering behind a... something in fear. "What is that?" She asked out loud. Her sisters shrugged at that. "Hey you there! Are you okay; is something wrong?" Blossom asked the cowering figure. It emerged from behind its hiding place, revealing a black figure outlined with green; it also had a pinkish-purple crystal growing out its head.
"You really shouldn't be here..." It said. "Its dangerous around here; you could get infected like I did." It warned.
"What are you? And why is that crystal sticking out of your head?" Buttercup asked.
"I'm just a program... and this corruption attached to me will soon turn me into a virus. Please, destroy the mega virus causing *slight glitch* this."
"We'll do whatever we can as heroes to protect the Cyberverse, and all the programs in it. No virus left out." Blossom stated confidently.
"Thank you. All three of you... now hurry. I'm not sure how long it'll take before the virusites return. Oh no; I spoke too soon!" The program then scurried off into the alleyway.
"Wait, they're already here!?" Blossom asked it; but it was long gone already. She then turned to her right and saw a group of pinkish-purple figures holding battle weapons; like a battle-axe or war-hammer. "So, you're the ones that program warned us about?" They gave no response; but they fit the description pretty well.
"I don't think they're in the mood for conversation Red. But they definitely mean trouble!" Buttercup announced.
"Right. Well girls, let's do this! Oh and please stop calling me red. Pink is my main color." Said Blossom as all three girls dashed towards the virusites. (A/N: 'Virusite' is a term made up by me; it means lesser virus). The girls went head to head in this battle; using their new abilities to their advantage.
"Eat this!" Buttercup yelled as she fired a destructive laser blast from her hand. One of the virusites were completely obliterated. "Sweet!" She then swept her arm out at them, causing them to fall over and drop their weapons. "And I'll also be taking those if you don't mind." Using her robotic arm she took hold of the enemies' weapons and tore them to bits. "So wait? Would you rather have me call you Pinky?" She asked Blossom.
"My turn!" Bubbles shouted. She brought out her keyboard and typed something. "We're bringing the heavy artillery on this one!" A huge cannon showed up and fired at the remaining virusites. They suddenly disintegrated. "Too easy! A little too easy though... are they this weak?" She suddenly asked.
"Let's not worry for now. The master virus is just around here somewhere. I can feel it in my... whatever. Now let's go." Blossom told the others. "And to answer that question Buttercup, no."
"Wait..." One of the downed virusites spoke.
"You're still alive? You got guts; too bad we're gonna have to delete them." Buttercup threatened.
"No. Please, I'm not really- *clears throat* sorry; I'm not really one of them. This is just a disguise. You're the Powerpuff Girls; correct?" The virusite asked.
"Uh... yeah, that's us." Bubbles answered.
"Oh thank goodness. *Decloaks* Sorry if I majorly confused you there; my name is Digital X." The figure said. (A/N: Character owned by Parsec of the PPZ series).
"You kinda remind me of us. Are you a Powerpuff Girl as well?" Blossom asked.
"Nope. I was a program designed to be just like you! I'm a Powerpuff Program!" Digital X replied.
"Then maybe you can help us out with Viroton?" Buttercup asked.
"Of course I'll help you. He's a threat to the real world and cyberverse as well!" Digital X replied.
"Good to hear. Well then, with that out of the way; let's go track down some scum." Blossom ordered as they flew off to search for their target.
*Cut back to the real world*
"I hope they're okay... I've lost the transmission..." The Professor stated to himself. "Hopefully they've ran into Digital X already."
