Chapter One Runaway
Yuri's mind is screaming with delight, he's about to go to the Xyz Dimension with his fellow duelists! He can't believe the Professor almost made him capture four identical girls from each dimension, but that assignment was reassigned to another great duelist at Academia. He doesn't know their name, but he doesn't plan on finding out.
In mere moments, the courtyard is filled with blue light as hundreds of duelists transport to the Xyz Dimension. Excitement fizzles through Yuri as the same blue light engulfs him, and he feels his body leave this world and transport to another.
[Xyz Dimension]
The front lines arrive at Xyz, and everything is peaceful. Yuri marches forward with the others, and he watches the duelists of Xyz look at them with confusion as the front line activate their duel disks. The Xyz duelists turn their attention to them as the rest of the force spreads out to cover more ground.
Yuri runs to a nearby park, seeing many duelists. He feels a sadistic smile cross his lips as he advanced on one of them duelists, activating his own duel disk. The purple hard light sword shaped disk emerges, and the duelist turns to Yuri, his own activating.
The duelist is not hard to beat, and soon he's engulfed in a harsh purple light. A card pops out of Yuri's duel disk, and he takes it out with a smirk. The other duelists here have run away, so he exits the park.
Yuri pockets the card, smirking as he spots another Xyzian duelist.
(Many carded duelists later)
Yuri takes confident strides toward another duelist. That is, until he sees another one of his fellow duelists card a civilian.
"What are you doing? I thought the orders were to card the duelists." Yuri calls. The Slifer Red turns to him, laughing. "No, we're supposed to card everyone here!" The boy exclaims, and Yuri's mulberry pink eyes widen in horror.
Yuri watches him walk away, and that's when he finally feels the heat of burning buildings and hears the screams of innocent people being carded. His eyes were still wide, and his mouth has dropped open slightly.
His vision suddenly becomes blurry, and he shakes his head and closes his eyes. Reopening his mulberry eyes, Yuri turns to the Xyz duelist, but he doesn't see him. He must've ran while he and that Slifer Red student were talking.
Yuri's chest feels heavy, and he doesn't know what to do. His mission is to card duelists, not women and children and men who are not! He hears the sound of footsteps behind him, and Yuri turns horrifically to see two Xyz duelists. Both their outfits are already ruined, soot and ash coloring their hair darker shades. The one with blue and teal hair has his medallion gold eyes narrowed to slits, glaring at Yuri with a snarl like frown.
The other one has amethyst lavender and raven black hair with steel eyes, his mouth also turned into a frown. Yuri realizes this one looks like him, but his hair and eyes are different. "Another Fusion freak, looks like this one will be easy to beat if he's staring at us like that." The medallion gold eyed says, activating his duel disk.
Yuri takes a step back, the anger and hate in those medallion gold eyes so visible. He spots an alley and makes a mad dash towards it, anything to escape the hate. He hears them chasing him like he chased their comrades. Yuri twists and turns, nimbly dodging the fallen debris. Once he's sure he's not being followed, he stops, taking out the deck of carded duelists and setting it on the ground before stepping away.
He looks at his duel disk with confused and hurt mulberry pink eyes. He fiddles with the controls, which are supposed to teleport him to Academia once he had caught enough duelists. After hitting the enter button, a blue light engulfs him again, somehow more menacing than last time.
[Standard Dimension]
Yuri appears in a dark alleyway, and he leans against the wall of the building behind him, holding his face in both of his hands. He drinks in the sweet, fresh air of the Standard Dimension, trying to forget the things in the Xyz Dimension that he saw and heard.
But the flames remain and screams still ring in his head, haunting the Fusionite. The darkness of the alley makes it worse, so he pushes off the wall and walks unsteadily toward the street, suddenly feeling unwell.
Still holding his head in his hand and one hand on the wall, Yuri looks around blearily. It's a cloudless day, peaceful even. It makes him think about the Xyz Dimension before the forces of Academia brutally attacked it. One way is leading to a corner, and the other way is to a duel school.
Yuri doesn't know if it is a good thing or a bad thing. It looks harmless, with the name 'You Show Duel School'.
"Yuya?" A little voice asks. Yuri looks down and sees two little ones. The one on the right is a girl and she has red hair and gold eyes. The one on the left is a chubby little boy with yellow hair and orange eyes. "Um, sorry. You have the wrong guy." Yuri apologizes to the two little ones.
"Stop pulling our legs, Yuya. We know it's you. Why are you out here? We're supposed to be at You Show!" The little girl scolds. They grab his hands and pull him to the duel school, and he protests the whole way that he wasn't this 'Yuya' they were mistaking him to be.
Yuri is dragged inside a lounge, and there are four people in there. The first is a big buff boy with gray eyes and long outstretching bangs, a sash ties around his shoulders and he's clad in white with gold outlines, and he is barefoot. Actually, he does have shoes on, but they're heavy sandals.
The next is also male, and he has orange hair that could resemble fire and teal-blue eyes, and he wears an orange and red jumpsuit. The one after him is female, and she has pink hair and blue eyes, a pink gemmed bracelet on her right wrist, and she is clad in a lavender and lighter lavender tank top and red skirt. In fact, she has quite the resemblance to that of one of Yuri's classmates. I think her name was Serena.
The last is male, and like the pink haired girl, he also reminds Yuri of the boy he saw in the Xyz Dimension, the one with cold, steel eyes. But the cold, steel eyes are replaced with confused crimson, the amethyst lavender and raven black gravity defying hair supplant with down to earth green and tomato red, the tattered clothes replaced with bright and colorful ones. He wears a faded red (almost scarlet) shirt with a white, maroon and gold outlined jacket acting like a cape, dark green cargo pants with deck pockets, and magenta, black and orange shoes. His wrists are adorned with red wrist bands, and around his neck is a buckled choker. On his head is a pair of orange lensed goggles with a blue star on the right lens, and around his neck is a blue pendulum with elegant silver wings curving around the crystal.
In fact, he and the boy from Xyz look a lot like Yuri.
"Wait, you're not Yuya! Yuya's right there!" The little girl exclaims, pointing at the boy who looks like Yuri. "I was only telling you that the whole way here." Yuri dead pans. Fixing himself, Yuri the feels uncomfortable in the suddenly tense air.
The man in the jumpsuit jumps up, and he's suddenly in Yuri's face. "Well, since you're here anyway, would you like a tour? Maybe a sheet to sign up-" The man is hit on the head with a fan, courtesy of a certain pink haired girl.
"Sorry about my dad, he's like that." The pink haired girl apologizes while the man is kneeling on the ground and rubbing the now sore spot on his head. "You mean that behavior here is daily?" Yuri asks incredulously. "No, it's just my dad." The pink haired girl sighs.
"Sorry for bringing you here, I thought you were Yuya." The little girl apologizes. "It's fine, it's not like I had anywhere to go anyways." Yuri mutters the last part to himself.
"Oi, what's your name?" The boy who looks like Yuri asks just as he turns to the door. Yuri swivels back in his direction, looking him in the eye. "My name is Yuri Venom, and you?" Yuri asks. The boy smiles, "My name is Yuya Sakaki, and you and me got to duel some time!" Yuri's eyes widen in shock just before he remembers the device on his left arm.
He folds the arm with his duel disk across his chest, looking at it. "Well, if you want, we can duel right now." Yuri says, looking up. "Sure!" Yuya agrees, hopping off the yellow chair he had been sitting on. "You sure, Yuya? I, the man Gongenzaka, never seen that type of duel disk..." The big buff guy trails off. "I'm sure... Oh! Sorry guys, I didn't introduce you yet!" Yuya suddenly exclaims, bonking his forehead with his hand.
"Yuri, this is Yuzu, Shuzo, Gongenzaka, Ayu and Futoshi." Yuya introduces, pointing to the ones he named. Yuri nods at them, showing he acknowledges them.
Yuya leads Yuri to a duel arena, and the orchid purple and lilac pink haired teen takes a moment to study it. The tan wall and fences aren't much, so this duel will be a bit blander than my previous duels. Yuri thinks while looking down at the floor, noticing the weird mechanism in the clear black glass at the bottom.
"Okay, start up the Action Field, Sunset Garden!" Shuzo exclaims from a control room higher up. Yuri draws a blank. Action Field? Yuri looks down to see the weird mechanism starting up and moving, lighting up the black glass. He watches with wonder as the whole sky turns to evening and flowers blossom on the pixelated grass. Rose bushes and apple blossom trees and other kinds of flower bushes pop up in the nonexistent world.
"What? Never seen an Action Field?" Yuya asks from the other side of the formerly empty arena. "I'm being completely honest with you; I have never seen this." Yuri confesses, gesturing to the flower covered ground, but what he meant is the machinery under the glass.
"So, you haven't been in a single Action Duel?!" Yuya demands, now smiling despite his tone. Yuri shakes his head. "Then this will be interesting." Yuya says out loud to himself.
"Duelists locked in battle!" Yuya announces, then it seems he waits for Yuri to say something, only to bonk his head in remembrance. "Oops. Okay everyone! Let's teach Yuri what we say before duels. Restart from the top! Duelists locked in battle!" Yuya calls out again.
"Kicking the earth and dancing in the air alongside their monsters!" Yuzu chants back. "They storm through this field! Behold! This is the newest and greatest evolution of dueling! ACTION-"
"DUEL!" Yuya and Yuri yell at the same time.
"I'll let you have the first turn, Yuya." Yuri offers after drawing his starting hand. "Okay, first I summon Performapal Hip Hippo to my field!" Yuya exclaims, swiping a card onto his yellow hard light disk. A hippo appears in front of Yuya, and he's wearing a little top hat.
"Now it's time to show off your special ability Hip Hippo! I can treat him as two monsters when I tribute summon! So, I tribute Hip Hippo." Yuya says, getting his hand ready to snap.
Yuya snaps his fingers, and places a card on his disk. A dragon appears where Hip Hippo once was. The dragon had red and green eyes, and two gold spikes where wings should be, along with gold plating around it's face. "Mysterious dragon with dual-colored eyes, turn up the heat! I Advance summon, level seven, Odd-Eyes Dragon!" Yuya exclaims.
Yuri can feel excitement bubbling up inside him. If there are two things in the world that he loved more than dueling, it would be plants and dragons. "That dragon is so cool, Yuya!" Yuri compliments. Yuya blushes and rubs the back of his head, smiling brighter than the sun.
"Well anyway, I guess I'll hand things over to you." Yuya says, fixing himself and placing a card face down. "It's my turn then, I draw!" Yuri exclaims, drawing said card. Yuri smiles as he sees the familiar picture of Polymerization.
"I summon Predaplant Squid Drosera from my hand, then I activate the spell card Predapractice. I'm allowed to special summon one "Predaplant" monster from my hand to my field. So, come to the front lines, Predaplant Fly Trap! Predapractice also permits me to add one "Preda" card from my deck to my hand." Yuri infroms, taking a card that had popped out from his deck.
Yuri looks up at Yuya, the barest of smiles on his face. "You've given me the privilege to see a new dragon, now let me return the favor." Yuya's face lights up with anticipation at Yuri's words.
Yuri holds up the spell card he drew that turn, and Yuya gasps. "You know how to Fusion summon?!" He demands excitedly. "Just watch, I activate the spell card Polymerization!"
"I fuse the dark type monsters Predaplant Squid Drosera and Predaplant Fly Trap on my field. I Fusion summon, level eight. With these two plants, I summon the most toxic monster ever seen! You'll never look at greenery the same way again! Give way for the vicious, veracious and venomous, Starving Venom Fusion Dragon!"
The magenta and green dragon appears in front of him, his long, green tail just inches from Yuri's face, but it hardly matters to Yuri, having seen it so many times. His glowing green eyes seem to stare longingly at Odd-Eyes, and Yuri briefly wonders why.
A flash of purple and the smell of smoke make Yuri freeze, and for a brief second, Yuri's back in the Xyz Dimension. His duel disk is ready, ready to turn Yuya's terrified soul into a card-
"Your dragon is cool as well!" Yuya exclaims, the terrified look replacing with the biggest smile Yuri's ever seen. Slowly, the flashes of purple disappear, the smoke diminishing. The burning dimension fades back into the garden themed Action Field, the setting sun casting its golden rays over both duelists.
"Really? People usually run away from my dragon." Yuri admits, remembering the Xyz duelists whom had wanted to run from his dragon and his devastating attack.
But Yuya isn't hearing it. He waves his hand at the Fusionite, like he's telling Yuri to shush. "Those people just don't see what you and I see about your dragon. I think your dragon's awesome, and you must think your dragon's beautiful." Yuya says simply.
Yuri looks at Starving Venom again, studying the dragon. He had always loved the shade of magenta and moss green the dragon's scales were colored. And while others feel unnerved by the dragon's glowing green eyes, the glowing green is a soothing and welcoming color to Yuri.
"Huh, I guess you're right." Yuri observes.
"Well, back to the duel at hand. Battle! Starving Venom, attack Yuya's Odd-Eyes...er, Dragon with Ravenous Poison Flare!" Yuri orders, but he almost slipped up too. He almost said Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon. No idea where that came from. Yuri watches his dragon charge up his attack to fire at Odd-Eyes, when suddenly Yuya hops on Odd-Eyes' back. "Oi! What are you doing!? You'll get hurt!" Yuri shouts.
But Yuya's true intention, is to run away on Odd-Eyes. Yuri watches him pluck a card with a capitalized "A" on the back out of a rose, and Yuya stops, looking up at Yuri and showing him his newly acquired card. "The Action Spell Evasion will save me and my dragon from any harm." Yuya explains, sliding the card in the spell/trap slot in his duel disk.
For some reason, now Yuri sees why this is called an Action Duel. There's action in it, both dueling and motion. And the technology beneath their feet must be Solid Vision tech, allowing them to touch and ride their monsters to grab up these "Action cards" to save their skin from being destroyed faster.
Yuri then knew there must be an Action card that cancels out the others, so he takes off running. He scans the trees and bushes, and is quick to find one. "Gotcha." Yuri sings, picking up the card. The only problem is, it isn't what he's looking for.
It's a trap card. Yuri reads the card and it says that he has to activate it now. "I activate the Action Trap Thorn Rose, which deals me 500 points of damage." Yuri sighs defeatedly, sliding the card in his duel disk. Thorny rose stems grow from the ground and wrap tightly around his lithe body, and he grunts as the thorns dig into his pale skin. They release him once his life points tick down to 3,500.
"Wow, I hardly pick up any Action Traps, but I hope your streak of bad luck ends there." Yuya hopes, and Yuri places a card in his hand face down. "I place this card face down. I end my turn." Yuri says.
"My turn then! I draw! Come on Odd-Eyes! Let's go find another Action card!" Yuya exclaims, running off. Yuri sighs, was he really about to risk springing another Action Trap? Screw it, I don't want Yuya getting the upper hand and destroying my precious dragon.
Yuya's dragon gives him a boost into a tree, and Yuya leaps out of the top of the tree, slipping a card into the spell/trap slot. "The Action Spell High Dive increases my dragon's attack by 1,000!" Yuya explains [Odd-Eyes: 2,500 + 1,000 = 3,500]. Starving Venom also helps Yuri into a tree, and he snags another Action card. Yuri feels a grin on his face as he jumps out the top, doing a front flip and landing perfectly on Starving Venom's shoulders.
"The Action Spell No Action cancels out your Action Spell." Yuri says with a grin. Yuya grits his teeth as his dragon's attack points go back to normal [Odd-Eyes: 3,500 – 1,000 = 2,500].
"You're a fast learner, Yuri. If only I was like that in school, then maybe I'd get some A's once in a while." Yuya jokes, laughing from his spot on Odd-Eyes' back, holding onto the two spikes on his back. "I guess I could say I learned from the best." Yuri giggles, clutching onto Starving Venom's neck.
Yuri pauses. Talk and banter is coming so easy with Yuya, almost as if they're brothers, or twins even. Yuya is a very easy person to talk to, but Yuri's more of a blooming rose. Guess he's trying to say he's not one to talk.
"The best?" Yuri hears Yuzu's monotonous voice. "Is Yuya not the best here?" Yuri asks, looking at the see-through part of the wall at the pink haired girl. "Well, I have beaten him many times." Yuzu informs. "Good to know, now I know that Yuya is second best, but the best in my book." Yuri says, turning back to the duel with a smile. "Oi! What do you mean "second best"?" Yuya demands.
"I did say you were the best in my book, do you need to get your ears checked?" Yuri questions sarcastically. "Well, thank you, Yuri! Now if only everyone thought I was the best... OI! We're in the middle of a duel! Stop distracting me!" Yuya complains, running off on Odd-Eyes. "I wasn't trying to!" Yuri singsongs, laughing.
"Well, my dragon isn't as powerful as yours, so I guess I'll end my turn." Yuya says.
"You know, they're pretty much even." Ayu says. "Yeah, their hands may be one card short, but their fields are almost identical, with the exception of their dragons." Yuzu agrees.
"My turn, I draw!" Yuri looks at the card, and smiles. "It seems my deck is telling me we need to add more flare to this duel, so that's exactly what I'll do!" Yuri proclaims, flipping the spell card in his hand around.
"The Spell card Flaring Predator allows me to attack your life points directly if you have a dragon or plant type monster on your field. So, battle! Starving Venom, attack Yuya directly with Ravenous Poison Flare!" Yuri orders, pointing to Yuya. "Quick Odd-Eyes, we gotta find an Action card!" Yuya calls.
"Action cards won't help you, because I activate my face down trap: Predaplant Usage. Predaplant Usage prevents you from activating spells and traps, and I can give my Starving Venom 300 attack points for every spell and trap in our graveyards." Yuri says, and the trap flips up.
"There are five cards in our graveyards, so Starving Venom gets 1,500 more attack points!" Yuri exclaims [Starving Venom: 2,800 + 1,500 = 4,300].
"That's enough to wipe Yuya out!" Yuzu exclaims. "And he can't do anything about it!" Gongenzaka shouts. Yuya isn't frowning though, and Yuri's not either. Instead, there are big smiles on both of their faces. "Then why are they both smiling like kids in a candy store?" Futoshi asks.
Starving Venom charges up his attack, but unlike his last one, flares of colors bounce off his vine like wings. From blood red to sunset orange to lemon yellow to grass green to sky blue to twilight purple to rose pink. What made it beautiful was that the sun had set, engulfing the field in darkness, but Starving Venom's attack lights it all back up.
The attack then races toward Yuya, in all its multicolored glory. Yuya's smile never falters, neither does Yuri's. Either that smile's infectious or Yuri's just happy that Yuya's happy.
Yuya's life points drop to zero, and he's sitting on the ground as the Action Field disappears around them. Yuri walks over to Yuya, stopping once he's in front of him. Yuri holds out a hand to help him up, and he takes it, and Yuri hauls him up.
"That was an excellent duel, Yuri! You really know how to put on a good show and wow the crowd!" Yuya compliments. Yuri rubs the back of his head, an embarrassed blush on his face. "I usually don't duel like that, but something drove me to do it." Yuri explains.
"Well done, Yuri! You got fired up and put on a great show like Yuya's father!" Shuzo yells, and promptly got smacked again by Yuzu's fan. Yuri looks at Yuya, who's mood has dropped. "Not to get you more down, but why are you sad at the mention of your father?" Yuri asks softly, as if he's scared a hard tone would only make Yuya sadder.
"My father is Yusho Sakaki, and two years ago he disappeared before his match against Strong Ishijima. Ever since I've been bullied by other kids, and they call me a coward's son." Yuya explains, wincing at the end.
"You're not a coward, Yuya!" Yuri defends, placing a hand on his shoulder. Yuya looks at him, confusion lighting his crimson eyes. "And I know your father isn't a coward, he must've had a reason to disappear!" Yuri adds.
Yuri knows the reason; he's heard a rumor at Academia that there's a secret duel school called You Show Duel School. Supposedly, duelists who run away from Academia go to this school to learn a more fun dueling style, entertainment dueling, Yuri believes.
Yuri bites his tongue though. Yuya can't know that duels are being used for harm, not for the simple joy of a smile or laughter.
"No more sad thoughts, so, do you plan on joining You Show?" Yuya asks. Yuri removes his hand from Yuya's shoulder, humming. "Sure, it seems okay here." Yuri agrees.
"Hurray! Welcome to team You Show, Yuri!" Ayu exclaims when Yuri and Yuya enter the windowed hallway. Yuri smiles warmly down at her, then frowns.
It's weird. Was it only a hour ago that I became a runaway from Academia? It feels much longer, like weeks or months. With Yuya, it feels like time just flies.
"You okay, Yuri?" Yuya asks from beside him. Yuri jolts out of his thought, gazing at Yuya from the corner of his eye. "I'm fine, why do you ask?" Yuri questions. Yuya shrugs, "You were happy, then you just got a frown, why?"
"Just thinking." Yuri answers. Yuya nods, letting it go.
Yuya then looks at the clock, and he looks like he's about to have a panic attack. "It's gotten so late! I better get home before Mom starts to worry!" Yuya exclaims, turning. He then seems to pause, then looks back at Yuri.
"Oi Yuri, do you have anywhere to go?" Yuya asks. Yuri shakes his head. Yuya looks shocked before closing his eyes, turning to him fully again. Reopening his playful crimson eyes, he smiles at Yuri warmly.
"If you don't have anywhere to go, I'll gladly take you home with me! That is, if Mom agrees to let you stay." Yuya suggests. Yuri has never been more shocked in his life. Yuya just met him and trusts him to be in his house with him and his mother?
Yuya's too trusting. He doesn't know anything about Yuri, yet he's invited Yuri to his house. Yuri would have scoffed at Yuya's naivete, but he doesn't want to cause confusion to this kind and smile ridden teen.
"Sure." Yuri agrees. Yuya's beaming smile warms his heart, and the mulberry eyed teen is glad he was able to make such an innocent and bright smile appear on Yuya's face.
"Com' on! I think Mom will want to meet you as soon as possible!" Yuya exclaims, taking a hold of his wrist and pulling him along. "Ease up on the grip! You're going to make my hand fall off!" Yuri cries, running to keep up so he doesn't have to be literally dragged. Yuya doesn't let up on his grip though.
"We're here, Yuri, you can open your eyes." Yuya says. Yuri opens his mulberry pink eyes (when had he closed them?) and sees they're in front of a house. It isn't that big, but it is two story. "Nice house." Yuri compliments, looking at the garden. "Thanks, now time to have some yummy dinner!" Yuya orders, yanking him along again.
"I can walk on my own, Yuya." Yuri scolds lightly. Yuya doesn't seem to be listening as he leads him through the door.
"Mom! I'm home!" Yuya calls. A young woman walks into the room and smiles at Yuya. "Hi Yuya, who's this?" The woman asks, walking over to Yuri. He bows slightly before standing straight again. "My name is Yuri Venom," Yuri glances over at Yuya with a smile, "and you have a wonderful son."
"Well, thank you. My name is Yoko," Yuya's mother introduces, then looks at Yuya, "I'm guessing you brought him home because he has nowhere to go." Yuya nods, "He was accidentally brought to You Show because the two little ones mistook him for me, and he actually joined after one duel with me!"
"In that case, welcome to our home, Yuri." Yoko welcomes. "Thank you for letting me stay." Yuri thanks. "Your welcome Yuri. Yuya, go show Yuri the guest bedroom, but don't be too long because dinner's going to be on the table in ten minutes." Yoko orders. "'Kay, come on Yuri!" Yuya says, pulling him up the stairs.
"The room at the end is mine, and this is the guest bedroom." Yuya explains, opening the first door. Yuya turns on the light and he pulls Yuri into the room.
The walls are painted a simple white, and for furniture the room has a dresser, bed, desk, desk chair and closet. "Thanks again for letting me stay." Yuri thanks Yuya. Yuya smiles brightly, "No problem! Anything for a friend." Yuri pauses at Yuya words.
"You called me your friend..." Yuri murmurs. "Yeah! Why wouldn't I?" Yuya asks. Yuri nervously plays with a lock of his lilac pink hair before answering.
"I mean, you just met me, and you don't know anything about me."
Yuya sets a reassuring hand on Yuri's shoulder. "Even if I don't know you that well, I can see you're a good person." Yuya defends.
Yuri looks around the room, releasing the lock of hair he had been twirling. Yuya is a good kid, that much is clear. It still doesn't explain the soul deep joy that curls in Yuri's chest whenever he sees him smile.
...but Yuya was wrong about him. He wasn't good. He was better than his former classmates at least.
"Okay, so tomorrow there's going to be a set of clothes on the desk for you. I'm sure if you ask Mom she'll buy some clothes for you." Yuya suggests. "I'll take it into consideration...and what about night time clothes?" Yuri asks. "Oh yeah! I'll get you a pair after dinner." Yuya reassures.
"Thanks, Yuya." Yuri thanks, a smile playing on his lips for the umpteenth time that day.
"You're welcome, Yuri. Now, let's go see what Mom cooked up tonight!" Yuya orders, and once again Yuri's wrist is in Yuya's hand and his arm is almost literally torn off his body.
"Yuya! I swear you're going to be the end of me!" Yuri yells.
But the delicious aroma suddenly in the air makes him think of his hungry stomach. "What is that amazing smell?" Yuri asks in a purr, letting Yuya lead him to that wonderful smell.
"Glad you think the smell is nice, but I bet you the taste is better." Yoko says once they reach the kitchen. Yuri's jaw drops at the sight of the food, actually, the rice curry. In all his years of living at Academia, curry has never smelled so good.
"You look like you've never seen food!" Yuya jokes from beside the purple and pink haired teen. Yuri glares at him playfully, cuffing Yuya on the back of the head lightly. "I have, it's just I was a bit shocked that curry could have such a delicious aroma." Yuri defends. "Well then, why don't you sit down and have a taste?" Yoko invites, gesturing to an empty seat.
Yuri sits down in the offered seat, taking a hold of the spoon beside the plate. He scoops some into his mouth, and it almost sounds like he can hear suspense music playing in the background.
"It's amazing!" Yuri finally exclaims after swallowing. "I'm glad you like it." Yoko says. Yuya also sits down, and Yuri doesn't know how he doesn't choke as he inhales the curry.
"You're going to choke if you eat too fast, Yuya." Yuri warns, eating another spoonful of the curry. "But it's so delicious!" Yuya argues through a full mouth. "Didn't your mother ever teach you not to speak with your mouth full?" Yuri scolds after swallowing. Yuya must've swallowed the wrong way because he hits his chest with his cupped fist two times.
After a bout of coughing, Yuya glares at Yuri with his crimson eyes, a few bits of rice sticking to his cheeks and chin. "Of course she did!" Yuya declares. "Then why aren't you using those manners your beautiful mother taught you?" Yuri teases, leaning closer with his chin propped up on his hand. Yuya blushes and looks away, appearing to have no answer.
"I thought so, now why don't you chew before swallowing and talking, and while you're at it you can wipe your mouth like a good boy." Yuri orders, now sitting straight with his eyes closed. Yuri hears Yuya stand and walk to another room, so h cracks open his left eye to see a pillow being thrown his way.
It hits him dead center of his face. It falls to Yuri's lap and it fell away just in time to reveal his playfully enraged face. "We will settle this, after, I'm done eating." Yuri says slowly, taking a bite of curry.
"Yuya, I think you started a war." Yoko warns. "Not a war, a battle." Yuri corrects.
After Yuri's finished eating, he realizes Yuya is nowhere to be seen. "Where's Yuya?" Yuri asks. "He went to bed early because he has school tomorrow." Yoko informs, but he can see her smile and it's a dead giveaway something is off. "Today's Friday, isn't it? Yuya wouldn't have school on a weekend." Yuri says, his mulberry eyes blinking. Yoko nods.
Yuri stands up, leaving his plate on the table and stomping up the stairs. He enters his room and turns on the light before going over to the bed, snatching up the pillow. His eyes catch sight of folded clothes on the desk, and a note lays on the top. Intrigued, he walks over to the note and picks it up, reading the medium sized and not-really-neat letters.
'I got your pj's. Truce please?' The note read. "Oh Yuya, a simple gesture won't save you from what I'm going to do." Yuri growls lowly, setting the note on the desk and lifting the nighttime clothes away. A flower rests under the clothes, and he stops when he sees its purple hyacinth.
Yuri lifts the flower up, examining it. He could see who ever cut it away had no care and was in a rush, but that doesn't matter because of what the flower and the color stood for.
Yuri smiles softly at the flower. "You're smarter than I give you credit for, Yuya." Yuri says out loud. He sets the flower down beside the note, pulling off his uniform and changing into the purple and black striped night clothes. He turns off the light, walking towards the bed with the pillow in hand. Yuri sets the pillow down and pushes back the blue covers, crawling to the pillow before throwing the blanket over himself.
His head turns to the hyacinth on the desk, the light of the crescent moon lighting it softly. Yuri closes his eyes, and he doesn't think sleep ever overcame him this quickly.
A/N: Okay, so I'm not really good at writing duel scenes, so I'll be avoiding them if I can.
