It was a beautiful summer day in a town where one 12 year old girl lived with grandpa and two dogs.
The girl's name was Budgie and she was on her way to school as it was the last day before summer break which made her very happy.
Budgie couldn't help but think of the guest speaker that would be talking about keeping the environment clean while stopping deforestation.
Thinking back to her encounter with the poachers who had kidnapped baby animals made Budgie agree to help keep the forest and animals safe.
"Budgie! You're going to be late!" Budgie's grandpa called to her, she smiled and shook her head. "I'm heading out!" Budgie called back to him.
Slasher and Boof, Budgie's dogs barked happily at her as she petted them. "See you two later." Budgie said with a smile, she kissed them then left.
Budgie walked to school as her town wasn't that big so she had never felt the need to ride the bus not to mention walking gave her time to listen to her music.
So that meant that Budgie already had her headphones on and turned to her favorite song that played a sweet piano tune then she started to sing along with it.
[Play (Ritsuka's song) Premonition Of Wind from Dance with Devils]
[Budgie]
Chatting with my friends, cream puffs and tea
I like all those things 'cause they make me happy
Today is the same as yesterday
I'm just like every high school girl
I am not a child anymore
I know better than to believe
In glass slippers, castles without princes that live there
They're all nothing but fairy tales
But sometimes I think
That there might be something
Or someone waiting for me
I would look to them, and they'd turn and smile
It beings
A new world around the corner in the wind.
When the song ended, Budgie saw that she was at school so she ran to get to her locker then carried her books that she needed to return to each classroom before heading to her first period class.
Budgie went into the classroom and put her math book on the teacher's desk as the other kids were horsing around. "Thank you Budgie." The teacher said in annoyance, she gave a friendly smile.
"Soon, you won't have to deal with them." Budgie said as jutted her thumb at her classmates, that made the teacher smile. "True." He replied, the class suddenly got quiet before the teasing started.
"Look, clown girl is here!" One of the girls shouted, Budgie knew that she'd get made of again. "Are you gonna throw a pie in our faces?" One of the boys asked with a laugh, Budgie sighed at the question.
"Throwing a pie at you would be a waste of pie and my time." Budgie responded calmly, her classmates paused then gave up. "Time for the assembly." The teacher told the kids, the left the classroom.
Once all the students were seated in the auditorium, the guest speaker Zak Young came onto the stage with a bright smile. "Hey, kids. How's everyone today?" Zak asked them, the kids all smiled at him.
Budgie payed close attention as Zak started talking about how he'd seen in the destruction of the rain forest when working down there and how he wanted to change it so the forest would be there forever.
As Zak talked, he and Budgie made eye contact and they knew, both knew that the other had some sort of contact with the magical beings of the rain forest which made them feel connected to each other.
"He's/she's like me." Zak and Budgie thought, that thought made them smile because they wanted to make a difference in the world and helping to protect the forests and animals was the first step in that.
Soon, the lecture was over but the questions began. "Is there a way to keep poachers from taking the animals?" Budgie asked Zak, he smiled at her. "We're beginning that project now." Zak answered her.
Before anymore questions could be called out, a huge explosion was heard as the school started shaking. "Everyone, please evacuate the school in a calm, orderly line." The principle told everyone, they did so.
When everyone was outside, the kids looked around to see what had cause the explosion when-. "Hey Budgie, isn't that your house?" A girl asked in concern, Budgie turned to see that her house was on fire.
"Grandpa!" Budgie shouted in worry, she raced to her house with Zak hot on her heals. "Kid! It's too dangerous!" Zak shouted to her, Budgie didn't care as she had to check on her grandpa and two dogs.
Budgie and Zak stopped as they saw the whole house had collapsed. "No..." Budgie whispered sadly, she knew that her grandpa and dogs were gone as no one could survive the fire or collapsed building.
The fire department showed up and put out the fire but it was too late to save Slasher, Boof and Budgie's grandpa. "I'm so sorry kid, but there's nothing we can do." The fire chief said in sorrow to Budgie.
Budgie could only stare at her house in disbelief and sadness as she thought of the three lives that had been taken this very day, Budgie didn't know what else to do so she did the only thing she could.

As Budgie sang that last line, she fell to her knees while her tears kept coming down. "I-I've lost them all." Budgie said as she started to cry, the mournful cries got louder and louder as Zak hugged her.
"I'm so sorry but don't worry, I'll help you." Zak said as he comforted the young girl, the only issue was that Zak didn't know how he was going to help her. "It will be alright." A wise voice said to them.
Zak and Budgie both heard the voice as they looked around. "W-who are you?" Budgie asked timidly, the voice laughed lightly. "I am someone who can help." The wise voice answered kindly to Budgie.
What the young girl didn't know was that Zak knew who the voice belonged to as he'd heard it before. "Magi Lune?" Zak thought in wonder, he'd seen her vanish back in Ferngully to help save and heal it.
"How can you help?" Budgie asked sadly, suddenly both humans could feel a change. "I will help by sending you both to your true home." Magi Lune answered the question as Zak and Budgie started to glow.
Budgie was very confused. "What do you mean our true home?" Budgie asked as she became unfocused. "I am referring to Ferngully, that is where you are meant to be." Magi Lune answered the young girl.
Zak was starting to get the feeling that both he and this kid weren't going to be able to stop the wise but kind old fairy that was changing them before they vanished into a very bright light that was safe and warm.
Meanwhile, deep in the forest known as Ferngully, a mother kangaroo named Mrs. K and her son Nugget were by the river having a drink of water when all of a sudden they had to close their eyes due to a light.
"What was that?" Nugget asked as he rubbed his eyes, Mrs. K was doing the same thing. "I'm not sure." Mrs. K replied to him, when they opened their eyes, both kangaroos saw two new fairies in front of them.
As they took a closer look, both mother and child recognized the new fairies who had once been humans. "That's Zak/Budgie!" Mrs. K and Nugget shouted in unison, the mother and child knew they had to help.
"Let's get these two to Crysta." Mrs. K said to Nugget, he nodded then gently lifted the two human turned fairies into his arms before following his mom to where their fairy friends lived so they help the two humans.
Along the way, both kangaroos were baffled as to how the two heroes of their home had suddenly changed from humans to fairies but hoped that they'd get answers once their human friends woke up in a while.
