Char Aznable did not know what had happened. One minute he was stuck with his cockpit escape pod embedded into the side of Axis as his longtime rival Amuro Ray had tried to prevent it's collision with Earth. The next minute he was on the surface of the moon with his Sazabi whole again. "Can anyone hear me? This is Captain Char Aznable." He radioed out to no avail.
On another part of the Moon close to the Red Comet's position. Rau le Creuset was having similar issues. His Providence Gundam rocketing over the lunar surface as he searched for signs of civilization. His radar managing to pick up an unknown mobile suit close by he flew to investigate.
Char saw the upcoming mobile suit, and almost breathed a sigh of relief at no longer being alone, when it came to him a flash of anger, pain, and hatred for the entire world, for humanity itself. Whoever was in this machine was pure madness and hate. Without hesitation he aimed his beam rifle and fired off a single shot!
Rau managed to detect the beam rifle being raised to fire, and with instincts honed over the course of the Bloody Valentine War spun Providence to the right to avoid the shot. Taking cover behind a nearby rock formation. Rau proceeded to deploy his DRAGOON system in hopes of catching the mobile suit off guard.
But Char was no normal mobile suit pilot. He was a Newtype, and could easily spot and ID the strange weapons as they shot out from behind the rock in numerous shapes. "How odd. They seem to have multiple guns each." He noted, but he wasted no time in deploying his funnels to counter the all-range attack with one of his own.
It was a veritable dance of death as DRAGOON pod, and funnel spun around like a mini tornado firing at each other, each one trying to get past in order to fire on the enemy mobile suit. Magenta and emerald lances forming spider webs of energy. Unfortunately for Char. his six funnels were outnumbered by the Providence's eleven DRAGOONs allowing a few to slip past to attack Char. Char however was not one to be shot down so easily and spun, and weaved as best he could to avoid each shot, while countering with shots of his own from his beam-rifle/shotgun, and the beam cannon in his chest to take down the DRAGOONs with ease.
Rau meanwhile countered with shots from his own beam rifle, and the cannons on his shield either destroying or distracting Char's funnels. By the end Char was down to only 3 Funnels, while Rau only had two of his huge conical DRAGOONs, and two more of his smaller dagger-shaped DRAGOONs. Rau then activated the large beam saber on his shield and charged at the Sazabi aiming to cut it down to end the fight.
Char was a bit too quick for him though and drew his beam axe. Switching the weapon to it's beam saber mode, Char was easily able to parry the clumsy blade of the Providence. He then raised his shield up to the chest, and fired all three of his missiles into the cockpit.
*BOOMBOOMBOOM!* They went against the Phase Shift armor to no visible effect once the smoke cleared. Rau took advantage of his distraction to lift up his huge beam rifle and fire off a single shot through the shoulder of Sazabi's shield arm.
"Dammit!" Char cried out as his arm was rendered useless. Rau not to be outdone (and probably feeling a bit sadistic on top of things.) followed up by firing his head vulcans through the Sazabi's monoeye taking out the main camera. "It's over now little fly." Rau declared aiming for Sazabi's chest.
Only for a beam from one of the remaining funnels to tear through the backpack of Rau's Gundam. "What?!"
While they had been busy fighting up close Char had managed to use his superior Newtype control of the funnels to outmaneuver Rau's manually controlled DRAGOONs. As a result Char had one single funnel with one shot left to save him... But that was all Char needed.
Rau tried to fire his beam cannons as a last resort, but Char was too quick and parried the shield off course with his beam axe. He then drew back his beam rifle and aimed a single shot right through the Providence's torso into the reactor.
"Killed twice in less than a half hour. How ironic." Rau mused softly to himself as the Providence Gundam was detonated and destroyed. Char sighed a bit in relief as he detected a lunar city not far from where the battle ended. With some trepidation, and resignation. He docked his last remaining Funnel, picked up and stored the beam axe back on his shield, and took off to finally figure out where he was, and what kind of situation he was now in.
