AN: Okay, so my other OC story I think I came on a bit strong if I were in Miraculous (Psychic)… SO, how about the future? And, begin.
Chapter One: Hawkmoth returns?
A raven haired woman sat, pondering what had happened with Adrien… Her poor Adrien. Adrien was her husband, now six-feet under.
"Marinette!" a little animal-like thing came. "Nooroo has been activated again!"
"But Hawkmoth is dead, and I thought the butterfly was lost, and has been for seventy years," Marinette said. "Tikki, what feeling do you have?"
"Negative," Tikki said.
"Then we need to find a new Ladybug and Cat Noir," Marinette said. "It is impossible for me to try and fight."
"I understand," Tikki said.
…
"Uhg!" a girl with brown hair and green eyes said, rolling over onto her back. "I hate waking up…"
"AVA! YOU'RE GOING TO BE LATE!" her mother called up to her.
"I know, Mom!" Ava said, getting out of bed. She grabbed her usual outfit: Jeans, a black t-shirt, a red hoodie, and a ladybug bag. Slipping on her black high-tops she slugged down the stairs.
"It's your first day at high school, how do you feel?" Ava's mother asked.
"No different than Junior high," Ava said. "I gotta go. I can't eat breakfast, you know how slow I am."
"Take the toast though, honey." Ava's mother handed her a piece of toast and Ava ran out the door, nearly tripping over her feet.
Almost to the school, Ava saw only the worst bully in the history of bullies push a smaller boy down. This bully is named Thomas, and boy, he shouldn't have done that with Ava around.
"Hey! Thomas! Pick on someone your own size!" Ava said to the taller boy.
"Why? That wouldn't mean I'd be able to pick on you," Thomas said, making
"Well, maybe if you looked at yourself you'll realize the only thing that made you this big is your inflated ego," Ava said. She turned to the boy and the ground and handed him a book that Thomas thought he was holding. "Here ya go, and be careful who you read next to. Some people are just jealous that they aren't an avid reader like you or me."
"Thank you," the boy said, graciously.
"Ava! How did you get that book?" Thomas asked.
"I took it when you weren't looking," Ava said with a smirk. "I told you, pick on someone your own size." And with that, Ava walked away.
…
"Ava Hammond?" the teacher, Mme. Timold shouted.
"Here…" Ava trailed off as she saw what she thought was an angel walk in. His blonde hair laid perfectly on his head, his big blue eyes were bursting with feeling. Ava felt her face light up pink and she smiled hazily.
"So sorry I'm late, Mme. Timold," the boy said.
"That's okay, Luka, but not again," Mme. Timold responded. Luka. His name was Luka. Beautiful.
"Luka Agreste?" a girl asked.
"Yes," Luka responded.
"Son of Hugo Agreste who is the son of Adrien Agreste who was amazing?!" the girl said.
"Yes," Luka said again, chuckling. "And don't forget my grandma, Marinette Agreste!"
"She has the best designs in the world!" a girl gushed.
"I'm sure Grandma would like to hear that!" Luka said.
"Luka!" Thomas said. "Long-time-no-see!"
"Same to you buddy," Luka said. Ava immediately lost her blush. Luka, who looks like a perfect angel, is friends with Thomas. Nope. Nah. Zip. Zilch. And- oh no. The only seat open was next to her. How wonderful. Now just give me a kitten and some lemonade, Ava thought, sarcastically.
"Ava, Luka will be sitting next to you," Mme. Timold said, stating the obvious.
"Hi, I'm…" Luka began.
"Someone who is best buds with Thomas. Not a good look," Ava said, not meeting Luka's eyes. How could someone so angelic be so… dark?
"What do you mean?" Luka asked, but Ava didn't answer. Instead, she simply waited for class to start. Luka was a disappointment. Or so she thought…
…
(Backwards in time- Luka perspective)
Luka rolled out of bed, happy as usual. Today was going to be his first day of high school and it was exhilarating. His dad, Hugo Agreste, had said Grandpapa had met his wife on the first day of high school. Maybe he would be just as lucky! His grandpapa, Adrien Agreste, had met his Grandmama, Marinette Agreste, but at first considered her, "Just a friend." It took a while for Adrien to realize Marinette was the one for him- but, Luka promised himself that wouldn't happen. If he found his soulmate, he'd know her (or him) right away.
(Although- he's an Agreste. Being oblivious runs in his bloodline.) He ran to his car, after grabbing his bag and a substantial breakfast, and got ready for school. He'd be late, but breakfast couldn't wait.
Stumbling through the school's front doors, Luka looked around. Where was his room? Right, had he been on time, Mme. Timold would've met him. Mme. Timold was his tutor, which his father had paid highly for. It was really to his luck that he got into Mme. Timold's class. Luka was always a "little" late for things, especially since he's no good at watching the clock. Finally, he got the idea to pull out his phone. Should he have thought of this earlier? Probably.
He found his class number and went into the classroom. "Sorry I'm late, Mme. Timold," Luka said, apologetically. Mme. Timold shook her head.
"That's okay, Luka, just not again," Mme. Timold sighed. In other words, Mme. Timold was telling him "you have to get time straight." Not likely, but hey, maybe.
"Luka Agreste?" a girl said, putting emphasis on Agreste. True, he was an Agreste, and true, his grandpapa was famous, which eventually led to him being famous…
"Yes," Luka said, controlling his voice, so as he wouldn't chuckle.
The same girl let out a gasp and said, "Son of Hugo Agreste who is the son of Adrien Agreste who was amazing?!"
This time, Luka couldn't help but chuckling this time. "Yes. And don't forget my grandma, Marinette Agreste!"
"She has the best designs in the world!" another girl gushed.
"I'm sure my grandma would like to hear that," Luka said smoothly.
"Luka!" a boy said. Thomas was his name, and he was Luka's very old friend. Thomas and Luka used to do everything together. And then Thomas switched schools. Luka got word from him here and there, but that was about it. "Long-time-no-see!"
"Same for you, buddy," Luka said, fist bumping the boy.
"Enough chit-chat, it's time for class to start," Mme. Timold said. "Ava, Luka will be sitting next to you." Luka made his way next to the girl, who was sitting in the front. The girl had brown hair with bangs swooped to the side. Her eyes were a forest green, and she looked at him with a little contempt. Although this girl already probably knew his name, and Luka knew she was named Ava, he attempted to introduce himself.
"Hi, I'm…" Ava cut him off right away.
"Best buds with Thomas. Not a good look," Ava said, refusing to look Luka in the eyes.
"What do you mean?" Silence followed. Already, Luka knew Ava was going to be a bit confusing…
…
"Tikki, the spirit of creation and destruction is strong with those two, even though I would hate to send my grandchild into a fight against akumas, he will work well with Plagg. Along with the other girl, I believe she is creation worthy," Marinette told her kwami.
"I must agree. The girl definitely has the air of creation around her, and Luka has the air of destruction. I wasn't looking for it before, but now I can sense it," Tikki responded.
"Goodbye, my friend," Marinette said.
"Goodbye," Tikki said, as Marinette renounced her.
…
"What the heck are you?!" Ava exclaimed, seeing a bug-like thing floating in front of her.
"I am a kwami," the bug-thing said.
"And what's a kwami?"
"A magical being that gives you superpowers!" Ava's eyes darted around.
"Surely you have the wrong person! I can't be a superhero! I can hardly take care of myself!" Ava looked back and forth, trying to find something in her room to trap the "kwami" with. Nothing. Smooth.
"You have a great spirit, Ava, you are meant for this job," Tikki said. "You will become the new Ladybug."
Ladybug. Ladybug. Where had Ava heard that? History books. Right, Ladybug had saved Paris from the dreaded "Hawkmoth" but disappeared after defeating him. Seventy years ago. And, didn't Ladybug have a partner? What was his name..? Cat Nerd? Nope. No one was that stupid. Cat Noir! That was it. They said the final battle was intense. Something like Hawkmoth was Cat Noir's dad and there was a lot of pent-up anger that he let out in the last battle. There were a couple other superheroes, namely, Rena Rouge, Carapace, Bumblebee, Truie, Pegasus, King Monkey, Viperion, and Trigresse.
Yeah. Like she was supposed to be one of the greats. Like she was supposed to be remembered. That's when a giant THUD came from outside.
"How does this work?" Ava asked frantically.
"I knew you'd come around," Tikki said. "They all do."
…
"Woah, what are you?" Luka said as a tiny cat-like animal popped out of a ring.
"A kwami. You're a superhero now, by the way. The new Cat Noir, specifically. You have the power of destruction, only one superpower chance, it's 'cataclysm' and now give me a pencil," the kwami said. Luka gave a pencil to the kwami and it turned to dust. Luka looked at his pencil in awe. "Now, back to the main thing. There is an akuma outside and I'm Plagg. To transform you say 'claws out' and after you give me camembert. Oh, and you have a partner."
"Cool! Plagg, claws out!" Luka said.
"WAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT!" Plagg shouted… trying to grab onto something, but he couldn't not do it. Luka was just as impatient as Adrien.
