Song: Steven Price - Norman
Prologue. Fading of the flower
This battle for life, for the world her family lives in. Rosalie's years of living in an alien universe have given her something that wasn't there in her real life. Until the moment she emerged into a world, she thought of only as movies. At the same time being imbued with this universe to the core. Rosalie didn't know that she would find comfort next to Steve, Bucky and Natasha. She didn't know she would have a family, she didn't know she had soul mates and she never imagined she would have children with those she loved with all her soul. Rosalie gave her heart and soul to those who passed through many periods of her life with her, while at some point leaving her for many years. She did not know that fate would bring her to Sokovia. She did not know that her spontaneous act could save the twins, Wanda and Pietro, from a terrible, painful fate. Her act gave peace to their souls, instilled in them a belief in goodness, love... This universe gave her the opportunity to be the mother of not only Wanda and Pietro, but the beautiful little twins, the biological father who is Steve and also, the little boy whose father is Bucky.
At this point, she will be gone, leaving behind a trail of memories that will leave her fellow family members in a bad emotional state. Perhaps years from now, they will be able to come to terms with her decision, but right now, her soul mates and children are in chaos. They are overcome by fear, pain, sadness, despair. But Rosalie's sacrifice is in the name of peace on earth, in which her family will continue to live. Her act is justified. Even if she can't be near her children, unable to see their every move in the world, unable to see the momentous events in their lives. Rosalie will know that her soul mates will be with her children, they will also be their parents. They will be there for them and they will be able to give them a helping hand. A helping hand, their parents would be able to support them, even if their family had lost their part, leaving an uncut edge.
Rosalie couldn't allow the loss of Tony, no. She promised Maria and Howard that she would look after Tony. After all, she still remembered how pleased Howard was, how proud he was of his son. Howard knew that Tony was going to be a great man. And Rosalie stood behind Howard putting her hand on his shoulder, supporting him, for she knew that his son would be the greatest. After all, Tony would save the entire universe by sacrificing himself. But Rosalie knowing this, she could not allow that sacrifice. She swore to herself that she would not allow any more sacrifices, after Bucky's fall in 1945. And she kept her word. She saved Pietro from death, she saved Loki from the hands of Thanos, she saved Natasha by honouring the contract, between the soul stone.
Rosalie had long ago learned her role in this universe, she is the guardian of these stones, and the guardian has the right to decide how she holds the world. And she has made a magical contract with the soulstone, Rosalie has given her soul, given her whole self, so that not a single soul of her family can perish. They must all live, and she kept her promise to the last moment. And now, sitting on the cold ground with her body charred, her injuries incompatible with life, she sees Pietro and Wanda rushing towards her. From their faces, you can read the fear, the confusion, the pain of understanding what is happening.
-Mama..." the twins say in unison, kneeling down in front of Rosalie. Tears are streaming down Wanda's cheeks, and Pietro eyes are filled with tears, about to roll down his cheeks, just like his sister's. Rosalie hadn't heard that word 'mother' from them for so long. She knew that the twins had their own, blood parents, and she was only the adoptive mother. But the way Wanda and Pietro called her mother filled her heart with warmth.
-Please don't leave us, don't go," Wanda whispered, shedding her tears.
-Mum don't go...-Pietro asks blinking away his tears, expecting their mother to be about to leave them, but Rosalie only smiled warmly at them, leaving a piece of herself in their memory. She wanted them to remember her smiling, giving them love.
-I will... Rest a little... - Rosalie whispered to the twins, behind her she saw Natasha appear in the sunlight with confusion on her face. After all, Natasha knew exactly what had happened to her on the Vormir and the price she had paid for the soulstone. Natasha's gaze fell on Rosalie, in whom life was fading and a shocked sigh escaped her lips. The redhead never showed her emotions to others, but Rosalie, Steve and Bucky were different. They were all one and knew everything about each other, showing care at every stage of their lives. So now, the Maximoff twins gave way for Natasha, Steve and Bucky, they immediately knelt down in front of a part of their soul - Rosalie. The realisation that she would leave them by sacrificing herself was slowly but surely getting to them. Their beautiful Rose had given her soul, her life, to keep her family safe from danger.
-Flower... -Natasha whispered, her eyes filled with tears, her hand gently touching Rosalie's cheek. - We made it, everything will be alright...
-Children...stay close to them... -Rosalie whispered in a hoarse voice, feeling her heart slowly fading.
Her gaze touched the three of them, and only her mute gaze told them how much she loved them. They didn't even have to say that they loved, they knew it just by looking at each other. A tear rolled down Rosalie's cheek, leaving a wet trail, but there was a warm, tired smile on her lips that spoke for itself. Rosalie knew that her day would come, she knew that her mission was to bring peace to this universe by sacrificing her happiness and she knew that there was always a price behind happiness. And Rosalie's price turned out to be her own life.
-Puppet...Rosalie...get some rest dear... -Bucky and Steve said, there was pain and sadness on their faces and their eyes were filled with tears. They thought they had their whole lives to be together, even if they had to pay the price for their happiness together. But they did not think it would be such an expensive price - the life of their beloved. Rosalie slowly closed her eyes sinking into darkness, unaware that she was dissolving into a kaleidoscope of six colours, unaware that she had returned to her original universe. She did not know that a few seconds later, there would be cries of despair, pain and sorrow on the battlefield. She would never know what pain had dissipated in the souls of her lovers.
A loud and annoying ringing sounded beneath the sleeping girl. Rosalie reached for the source of the annoying noise, opening her eyes she saw the phone announcing that it was time for her to get up. But she hesitated, feeling the wetness on her cheeks, her fingers reaching for her face. Looking at her hands, she saw tears and in an instant, like a wave all the memories came back to her. The memories, her life, like frames from a film flew through her mind, with such speed that it caused incredible pain. And Rosalie knew it wasn't all a dream...
