*Brennan*

'Awaaaaaaay!' yelled Angela and even Brennan was startled. She was pretty sure that Angela's behavior could be interpreted as rude, but she felt overwhelmed and times like this she always took comfort in Angela or Booth. Given that her emotional disbalance was caused by Booth and what happened between them this early morning, her only option to get her thoughts together was Angela.

'Honey,' Angela was practically bouncing to Brennan, as much as it was possible for an eight-months pregnant woman. 'Tell me everything!'

'Well,' Brennan grinned shyly again and Angela squeaked with impatience. 'I was really upset with what happened to Vincent and I just…I couldn't sleep and well, I needed to talk to someone about what happened, so I woke up Booth and…He comforted me and we were in his bed while I was crying, until I wasn't.'

'And?' pressed Angela.

'And that's it, before I knew what was happening, I kissed him, he kissed me back and we made love, I just…I couldn't bear the thought of losing him, I wanted him to know that I…'

Brennan was trying to think of the word, but it was hard. She never told Angela that she actually loved Booth, but give the evidence of many years, she was pretty sure that her best friend knew that before Brennan did.

'Love him?'

'Yes,' whispered Brennan. 'And now he is after Broadsky and I find myself even more agitated than I usually would be in such situation.'

'Sweetie, given that Booth was trying to woo you for six years, I am sure at this very moment he is pretty much unstoppable, his gun is loaded to maximum both literally and metaphorically speaking. He got what he was fighting for years, he will come back safe and sound, I promise you that.'

'You can't know that, Ange. And besides, we haven't had an actual discussion about a new paradigm of our relationship.'

'Sweetie,' smiled Angela kindly and patted Brennan shoulder. 'If you let him, I promise you, he is not going anywhere. The only person in the world who had doubts about you and Booth was you. I told you many times, that you two belong together and sure, at one point he got desperate and lost any hope for you to love him that way, but given how things are going now, Brennan, this your chance, for both of you and you need to use it, otherwise you will regret for the rest of your life. Booth loves you, he always has, all you need to do is to be brave enough to accept his love.'

'I should go back to work,' said Brennan clinically, she needed this distraction, to concentrate on something that she knew very well. Angela sighed looking at her. 'Thanks, Ange. But I need to think about something else now, there is no use to dwell on it.'

'All right, just don't run away, not this time.'

'I won't,' promised Brennan, both to herself and her best friend.

Sweets, Hodgins, Angela, Cam and Brennan were sitting now in the lounge waiting for a call. They did everything possible to help Booth get Broadsky, to help him to avenge their friend. Brennan hasn't felt this anxious in a very long time, she vowed to herself if Booth comes back safe, she will face whatever it was happening between them and accept it, she was ready to make this step, to lose her last bits of imperviousness. Her phone rang and she almost dropped it trying to pick it up.

'Yes,' she said hearing agent's Shaw voice.

'Agent Booth got Broadsky into custody, he asked me to call you to tell that he is all right and will be stopping by at Jeffersonian soon.'

'I-I understand. Thank you. Booth got Broadsky,' she announced happily. She noticed Angela's little smile and couldn't help but smile back. This was it. Booth was safe and a new chapter of her life was right around the corner if she is strong enough.

*Booth*

Booth was getting ready for the fight, the weapon in his hand, the clear head and no fear. He needed to finish this, he needs to make sure that all people he cares about are safe, that nobody got hurt anymore. He needed to come back to his friends, his son and his…well, Bones.

He got Broadsky, of course he did, in his heart he knew that he would, because at this very moment nothing in the world could stop him. He knew that love and happiness he waited for so long was just one step away from him and if God ever cared for Booth, he wouldn't let it to end before it could properly start.

The only thing that could stop him was Bones. He waited for her to come to say goodbye to Vincent, he knew they had things to talk about, but he learned his lesson, he needed to wait, he needed her to make a first step, to acknowledge that what happened between them wasn't a onetime thing. He loved her for so long and so fiercely and now he knew what the two of them could be together, he just hoped that she was strong enough to see it too, because he wasn't angry anymore, not one bit. He hoped that this time she was ready to take their chances, wherever this ends, he wanted them to try.

'And drank them both up

She put the lime in the coconut

And called the doctor, woke him up

Said, "Doctor, is there nothing I can take?'

They said goodbye to Vincent and the rest of their group was already going back inside, but Booth was waiting for a sign, for anything from Bones. As soon as he saw her with that plant, he couldn't tare his eyes from her, he was pretty sure he looked like a lovestruck teenager but he didn't care and it wasn't something new to him, except this time round he could hope for Bones to look at him back. As soon as the car left, he felt her right next to him, she took his arm like she did millions of times, only this time she leaned a little closer and it was more intimate than anything they shared before, apart from this morning, of course. They followed their friends, Booth smirked to himself. He got the signal, they will be fine, this was a true beginning of them.
