[Welcome to this alternate take of the Pokemon Fanfic. Wanted to incorporate a darker tale to the introduction, with a helpful cross-over of Anime, games, and the Japanese Magna. This Alternate Universe of Pokemon has a lot of dark stuff, humorous stuff, few familiar things and etc. Since this is Kanto, Imma focus on the major of the #151, but that doesn't mean mentions or appearance wouldn't be out the question for the other various Pokemon Regions.]

Alabaster awoke with a scratchy throat as his hand tapped the small Pokeball alarm clock on the nightstand, as he stretched ever so slightly before rubbing his eyes before expelling a soft yawn. Fixated on the darkness of pre twilight of Pallet Town from the view of his upper-story bedroom, he watched as the sun began to peak over the mountains in the distance. Those vibrant colors of the oranges and reddish tings breaking the dark purple and black sky, as a flock of Zubat skitted across the night sky.

Escaping the confines of the bed he carefully removed the cover and pulled the sheets of his childhood bed neatly, as he made his way to the small bathroom. Knowing his Aunt and Uncle were still asleep, Alabaster shuffled his way to the bathroom to get ready. Alabaster was punctual and previously leaving his clothes out the night before, he removed the small plastic toothbrush from the cup before smearing a dot of toothpaste on the bristled end.

"Today was the day...he'd become a pokemon trainer," he spoke in between brushes, as Alabaster immediately spat out the remnants of the soggy backwash of the toothpaste and water from his mouth into the small sink before smiling into the reflection of the fourteen-year-old male in the mirror looking back at him. He tapped the small picture tucked in the corner of the bathroom mirror of him, his older cousin Marv and himself smiling and laughing. He remembered the Autumn Festival before Marv left for service when Alabaster's mother had grown ill from cancer.

Alabaster could remember the way his mom hated the brunette wig his aunt gave her, as she complained it was hot. The morning before she had been crying so hard, few weeks before she finally lost the battle and passed away in the hospital as her faithful starter companion IvySaur she nicknamed Parsley. Unfortunately, as his grandmother used to imply, death follows in pairs, and unfortunately, Alabaster's mother's pokemon companion friend followed after his family buried his mom, as Professor Oak exclaimed Parsley wasn't able to cope with the loss of his mother.

After the death of his mother, and father never been around Alabaster was warded to the care of his Aunt and Uncle on the edge of Pallet Town to live on their farm. He never liked his Uncle, and after the death of his mom began to not handle his younger sister's death, and still grieving over Marv's MIA from the military, Alabaster's Uncle began to abuse him. Alabaster felt the warm tear trickle down his face, as he felt his finger trace over the old photo of the single crease down the middle, as he tucked the precious item into his small wallet.

"For Parsley...and for you mother," he proclaimed softly under his breath in a vow of confidence. The enthusiastic novice trainer realizing the time, omitted, "geez, I need to get outta my Pajamas. Wouldn't want to be the Pallet Town kid who got his pokemon by the Professor wearing his PJ's." He rolled his eyes, as he smiled and immediately got dressed and packed away his essential necessities, before shutting off the light to the small bathroom and closing the door before returning to his room to get ready.

After a short interval of getting dressed into his clothes from the dresser along with his prepacked back; Alabaster smiled as he decided to shut the door to his bedroom and make his way out of his bedroom window onto the landing connected the upper story. The note on his pillow so his Aunt wouldn't worry, Alabaster was overcome with smiles as he climbed the thick latticework along the side of the house. He paused the window to his Aunt and Uncle's room was still dark, so he was thankfully awake before them, guessing they thought he gave up his dream to travel and become a Pokemon Trainer.

Though his relatives disdained his ideas of being a Pokemon Trainer, Alabaster chucked it up to his Older Cousin Marv going missing during service. A former Ranger and expert on types, Marv would use flashcards to help Alabaster get his Pokemon Certification handler papers, it was the academic version of pre-authorization before you became old enough to acquire the Pokemon License to be an official Pokemon Trainer. Marv told him many regions either did their qualifications differently or had stricter policies, as he could almost hear his voice as he further descended from the thick lattice ladder, as his older Cousin's words emanated, "Cuz, Pokemon depend on us as we depend on them...trust them and they will trust you." His feet finally hit the soggy dirt off the side of the house, as he made his way to the shed passing the garden, as he was careful not to wake his Uncle's crude Fearow sleeping on the fence post as he carefully maneuvered his scooter off the ramp and checking the saddlebags.

Avoiding waking the bird pokemon missing a portion of its beak, or his Uncle stopping him from getting his own Pokemon partner, Alabaster decided to walk his scooter to the end of the road. The faded DevonCorp. on the flake-painted purple scooter, Alabaster wobbled to the edge of his Aunt and Uncle's farm to the main rural road. The sky still dark and the street lamp up the road still lit as the dark trees around him seemed eerie almost blanketing the rivet of orange and reds slowly coming more into view as he walked to where the rural road met into the empty inclined road section with a sign saying Pallet main street with sidewalk outlets.

Away from the family farm of Pallet; Alabaster slipped on his helmet as he inserted the key into the ignition and switched the motorized scooter to life. The DevonCorp older scooter was resilient and solar power, had a good charge to last a good long journey. As he quietly revealed the handle to the bike, he immediately made his way onto the road swiveling his scooter did a U-turn onto the road following the signs to Pallet Town.
