A/N: Time for a different take on the DC Superhero Girls series.
It was a typical day going on in Greendale so far. It was the weekend, so luckily, there was no school to worry about, though a certain group of friends came together for a friendship picnic to enjoy the day and the freedom together.
"Perfect day," Mo said. "It's not too sunny and it's not too cloudy either for all of us to enjoy the weather."
"How long will it last though?" Cherry remarked as she held a parasol over herself so she wouldn't get too much sunlight.
"Oh, come on, Cherry," Patch smiled. "This is a fun day so far. Enjoy it's here."
"Oh, I will," Cherry said before she took a turkey slider before eating it. "Especially since there's no homework to worry about."
"Indubitably!" Lionel agreed as he put on a wide-brimmed sunhat. "That's gotta be the best thing about today!"
Thor was soon rushing over to the picnic ground as everyone sat down and hung out.
"It's just really good to kick back once in a while, especially with the lot of us after we've been busy with our own misadventures away from each other." Atticus commented as he poured a glass of lemonade for Mo.
The others murmured in agreement as they continued to enjoy their little picnic with each other. Finally, Thor made it to the picnic table, puffing and panting in exhaustion.
"If you wanted to join the picnic, you could've asked," Lionel informed him. "That way you could've come along and not had to run all the way here."
"Sorry, but I had to go visit my uncle before I could come to the picnic anyway," Thor replied. "So I wouldn't had been home when you were leaving."
"Your uncle?" Cherry asked sourly. "Lemme guess, a new adventure?"
"Eh... Maybe... He wanted me to show you this," Thor said before taking out a comic book. "It seems to be made by a different person than the usual DC folks."
Cherry took the comic book and took a look at it. "The DC Superhero Girls?" she then asked.
"Didn't we already see that alternate universe where I'm Superman's younger brother and I go to school with Supergirl and Cherry's cousins with Catwoman in that world?" Atticus asked.
"No, this is a different DC Superhero Girls!" Thor replied. "He told me to show it to you guys right away."
"Lauren Faust?" read Lionel from the author and story planner. "Didn't she basically turn My Little Pony into something that could be enjoyed by EVERYONE, regardless of gender?"
Atticus looked away and blushed a bit.
"Not to mention make My Little Pony into something enjoyable to those who hated the franchise before she showed up?" Lionel then added.
Cherry then also blushed.
"Oh, so that's how you say that name," Thor said as he looked back at the comic book before shrugging. "But yeah! Uncle Drell was insistent that we all check out this book and take a look at the world behind it, very different from certain other adventures we have with Batman and Superman." he then told them.
"Well, I'm game for anything involving Superman," Atticus smiled. "Though this looks like a Supergirl story, I'm still up for it."
"Well, Wonder Woman, Supergirl, and plenty of others," Mo pointed out. "Although they kinda seem similar to the Mane Six in this reality."
Thor nodded before panting again, then groaned a bit. Atticus reached into the picnic basket and took out a super sub sandwich that was already made and ready to go.
"Thanks, buddy." Thor panted before he swiped the sandwich and ate it up instantly.
Tyke soon walked over to Patch and smiled at him before Patch smiled back.
"Well, I guess we could take a look at this book," Cherry shrugged as she took the comic to examine it up close. "It might be a new adventure for all of us."
"Knowing how things go, most likely," Thor replied as he was already halfway done with the sandwich. "Hopefully after this picnic lunch anyway."
"Unless Sabrina and Salem happen to show up..." Atticus said as his eyes darted around.
"Perhaps, but I think they're busy for a bit today," Lionel replied. "For now, this one's about this gang of five!"
"Very well then," Cherry said as she looked at the comic book. "Let's finish up our picnic, then, if I know these adventures, we'll end up in this world."
Atticus looked like he was ready to say something.
"Save it." Cherry told him.
Atticus cupped his mouth then before he decided to have a box of fruit punch. The group soon continued to enjoy their picnic before it would be time to read more about the DC Superhero Girls, though they knew that this would be yet another call to yet another new adventure. Eventually, they finished the picnic and decided to check out the comic. Tyke was soon sitting on Thor's back as they got comfortable enough to check out the comic book.
"Hey, check it out," Atticus said as he looked at the front pages. "Lex Luthor."
"I already dislike this." Cherry rolled her eyes before Cleo came over and curled up into a ball before she reached out, gently scratching her kitten.
"Wow, he looks ridiculous!" Lionel commented. "Somehow the baldness thing works better for him as an adult."
"And there's a little girl," Cherry noted. "...Lex Luthor's... Daughter?"
"Sister." Atticus corrected.
"Right. Sister." Cherry said then.
"Yep! Lena Luthor," Atticus nodded. "She almost reminds me of when we first met Darla."
"I can see it," Cherry smirked. "A little sourness underneath all that sweetness."
"Somehow that makes sense to me," Atticus replied. "Typical Luthor attitude."
"And it looks like it's the first day of school for Batgirl." Thor remarked as he leaned in to see.
"School? You mean like college?" Cherry asked.
"Nope, high school," Thor shook his head. "Guess the heroes are teenagers in this world since Lex seems to be a kid/young adult in this."
"Oh... That makes sense..." Cherry said with a small shrug.
"So let's go get reintroduced all over again!" Lionel declared.
"I know! We can go meet them in person!" Thor smiled as he was about to use his magic.
"Wait! ...Is that a good idea?" Atticus asked.
"It was bound to happen sooner or later, bud!" Thor smiled. "It'll be like that one episode of Friendship is Magic where Spike and The Mane Six ended up in that Power Ponies comic book!"
"Maybe we can, but be cool about it," said Lionel. "We can't let on that we know anything about their secret identities."
"Of course," Thor replied. "...Kind of a plot hole when you think about it sometimes. These comics exist in real life along with the heroes as well."
"Yeah, that's the problem when you have superheroes in this kinda world, but let's not worry about it too much before we pull one thread and then the whole thing unravels." Cherry suggested.
"Sorry, Cherry." Thor replied bashfully before he grabbed Tyke under his arm and used his magic on all of them.
The group soon joined together to also get taken by the magic spell and soon, they were gone in an instant and sent away into a whole new world.
"Oh. Hello, Metropolis," The bald villain from the comic book soon said as he was shown to be on a TV screen, grinning as he walked around and showed a montage. "I'm Lex Luthor. When I first started Lexcorp, I didn't set out to create an international corporate empire that would make me the youngest mega-billionaire in the world. I did it for you."
A boy and his dog were shown to be playing together, wearing special goggles.
"Our researchers continue to make breakthroughs in everything from virtual reality to the genetically-enhanced turkey on your Thanksgiving table," Lex continued from there, going over to an old woman who took out a turkey from her oven before he smiled at her as he flashed her a wink, then came over to a young blonde girl with a big bow in her hair. "But even though we're the most powerful corporation in the world, you can purchase our products knowing that deep down, Lexcorp is a family company. Isn't that right, Lena?"
The girl firmly scowled with a dangerous glare on her face. Lex then stared down Lena before she looked back up at him and had a cute grin on her face with giant innocent eyes.
"Lexcorp cares~" A female voice sang as the commercial ended before there was a sudden breaking news bulletin.
"As has become all too clear in recent months, despite having the likes of Superman looking out for her citizens, Metropolis is still in need of further super help," The news anchor announced with urgency in her voice. "This was the scene this morning in Midtown, where a small glimmer of hope may finally have arrived. And now we're left with the question everyone is asking, 'Who is this Wonder Woman?'"
"Barbara, did you hear me?" asked Commissioner Gordon, making Babs pull down her purple bat-hoodie. "You know your homeroom number, right?"
"...Yes." Babs groaned from the backseat of the car.
"Aw, c'mon, Pumpkin Pants," said Mr. Gordon. "I know it's tough starting a new school, but I'm sure you'll fit right in!"
"Dad! You're making me move in the middle of high school!" Babs groaned. "I loved Gotham City. And I was right on the verge of finally, finally, finally finding my te-Uh, my group."
"Your, uh... Your group?" asked Gordon, confused.
"Yeah, you know," Babs explained to her father. "My pack. My crew. My tribe. My-"
"Oh. Your, uh, clique. Your clique." Gordon then realized and nodded.
Babs smiled before she leaned back in her seat, crossing her arms with her hood hiked up over her head. "...My team." she then said lowly.
Eventually, the car pulled up in front of the school.
"Here it is. Metropolis High," Gordon noted before he looked at his daughter. "Beautiful. Don't worry, Pumpkin-Pants, you'll find a new clique." he then reassured her before driving off after dropping her off.
"Hello?" Cherry soon called. "Is anybody here?"
"Huh? Who are you?" Babs asked as she saw the group.
"Ah, hello there," Cherry replied. "I'm Cherry and this is Atticus, Lionel, Mo, and Thor. We're, uh, new transfer students into Metropolis High."
The others quickly agreed so that they could back her up.
"Heh... That's funny... I'm kinda new here too," Babs replied. "I'm Barbara Gordon, but please, call me 'Babs'."
"Pleased to meet you!" Lionel replied.
"I'm just saying I don't know why I'm being punished for something I didn't do." said a grumpy voice from nearby.
"And we hear you saying you 'didn't do it', Kara," replied a female voice. "Let's reframe our thinking. That's why your cousin Atticus is keeping an eye on you."
The others looked over as a grumpy blonde girl was shown.
"Wait... Did she just say 'Cousin Atticus'?" Atticus spoke up.
"Impossible..." Cherry muttered to herself. "Then again, crazier things have happened during these adventures."
"Maybe a new school is less a punishment and more an adventure." The woman insisted to the strong looking blonde girl who looked like she was full of attitude.
"One that could help you be the best Kara you can be," A man added, coming beside the woman with a smile. "And as your legal guardians, it's our responsibility to help you on your journey to impulse control."
The blonde girl glared and grunted as she slammed the car door shut, nearly making it roll over on the road, but luckily it didn't, but it did recieve some damage.
"Have a great first day." The woman beamed.
"Or don't. Whatever's right for you." The man added, oozing with parental and comforting support.
As a school bus pulled up to the curb, several students disembarked, the last of whom was a brown-haired girl with a yellow streak in her hair, but on her way out, she tripped and dropped her bag, causing her technical gear to spill.
"Whoa! Careful there..." Cherry said to the girl who squeaked and shivered at the sight of her.
The girl shivered and trembled nervously.
"Hi, my name's Babs." Babs greeted the girl who looked scared to death and painfully shy.
The girl whispered her name.
"I'm new here. It's my first day," Babs smiled as she helped the shy girl with her bag. "Have you been going here long? What's it like?" she then blinked as she found what looked like a mechanical arm. "...Huh?"
"Thank you, bye..." The girl whispered again, taking it, her bag, and took off running into the school.
"...Bye?" Babs blinked in concern.
"Man, she's shyer than Fluttershy." Atticus remarked.
"Almost sounds like a description to Pinkie Pie's quiet sister." Cherry commented.
"Bye, Daddy." A purple-haired girl beamed as she left a car that pulled up beside the school.
The car horn honked before a man came out from the car with a backpack. "Zee, you forgot your backpack." he then told her.
The girl smiled as she suddenly had it and wore it on her back almost like magic. "Thanks, Daddy! Toodles." she then said before going off further into the school.
"...Okay, that was weird." Babs shrugged as she decided to head on inside.
"Definitely different from what I'm used to in a superhero... Or a future superhero in this case..." Cherry said to the others.
Shortly afterwards, Babs and the others received their class schedules and went to look around. While doing so, she couldn't help but notice that some of the students were wearing those VR goggles that were in the LexCorp promotional video.
"Alright, that definitely looks suspicious." noted Lionel.
"That's creeping me out a little." Atticus added.
Babs eyed the numerous other students that crowded the hallways as she and the others simply stuck out as they were new and didn't know anybody.
"Oh, sorry about that." A boy said as he nearly ran into Babs, also wearing the goggles before he walked off, continuing down the hallway.
"He could've at least helped us out." Cherry complained.
"I told you, Hal," A girl across from Babs and the others told a boy she was standing in front of. "I don't believe in the Lantern Corps. Their methods are too extreme."
"Look, I don't make the rules-" The boy began, looking back at her before they both looked across to see that they had an audience.
The group tried to look casual and normal while Babs whimpered, turning to the locker right behind her, turning the dial combination so she wouldn't look like she was listening in on them.
"Take it, Hal," The girl soon told the boy, giving him a green colored ring. "I don't want it."
"No, Jess. They chose you." The boy replied, declining her offer before they walked off together.
The bell then rang which shook Babs, making her feel scared and nervous, even more than she needed to on her first day at a new school.
"Calm down," Cherry told Babs. "It's your first day, so you're bound to feel stressed out. It's not the end of the world though," she then advised,, glowing a bit with empathy trying to calm her down a little. "But you're not alone. You have us and we'll be your friends if no one else will."
"Aw, thanks, guys." Babs replied as she gave Cherry a hug.
"...I'll allow it," Cherry relented. "But only six more seconds of hugging."
The others smiled a bit, happy to see this empathetic and comforting side of Cherry.
"Seriously, you can stop now." Cherry told Babs.
Babs squealed, hugging a bit longer until she then let go as they went off to their classes.
"Hey, guys, check out my new VR specs." One boy said to his friends as the group wandered the hallways, passing by the various other students they didn't know.
"The podcast called her the Wonder Woman." One girl with a beanie told her friends.
"She took down some giant monster." A boy with glasses remarked.
"Jeez! How many superheroes does Metropolis have?" A green-haired girl asked.
The bell soon rang and Babs suddenly went hiding behind one door. "I don't know, but I'm gonna find out."
"Don't tell me you're gonna hide out in the closet until lunchtime." Thor said to the girl.
"I have detective work to do," Babs replied, narrowing her eyes. "It'll probably be a sacrifice I'll have to make."
The others disagreed and soon looked at Babs' schedule and went to get her to class.
"Okay, I guess I better go to class." Babs then said to them bashfully.
"Right, then; we'll regroup at the most convenient time." Lionel declared.
"Right!" The rest of the group agreed.
"Uh... When would that be?" Thor asked.
"Lunchtime, Thor." Atticus rolled his eyes slightly as Patch hid in his backpack.
"Right... Lunchtime," Thor nodded. "That's my best school subject."
"Stop the presses," Cherry smirked sardonically before looking over. "Spot? You hiding in Atticus's bag again?" she then asked the Dalmatian.
"I don't wanna get thrown out just cuz I'm a dog... I wanna learn too," Patch replied as he hid in Atticus's bag. "See you guys later then."
And so, the group split up to go to their new classes for the day, putting up with it as much as they could since they were thrown into a sudden brand new adventure that happened to be in a school.
A LITTLE BIT LATER...
The group met up once again at lunch, as Babs had gotten her tray ready. "Okay, Metropolis High... Let's do this." she declared.
"They could've asked if we wanted sauce or not." Cherry stuck her tongue out at her tray of spaghetti.
Babs sipped her milk carton intensely as she looked all around the cafeteria. Most students were talking with each other, enjoying their lunch, and doing whatever until classes would start again. The tough blonde girl laughed out loud, leaning back in her chair until spaghetti was splatted right into her face, making her stop as she sat up, glaring around to see who had done that and soon, Kara stood up, like a jungle predator about to attack before she grabbed a cheeseburger and flung it at the shy, quiet girl, known as Karen. Karen whimpered as she got up off of the floor before gasping fearfully from behind the table as Kara grinned, about to throw more food and she then tossed another burger right at her.
"Leave her alone, you big bully!" Jessica glared as she held up a tray like a shield, protecting Karen.
"My hair..." Zatanna mumbled as the burger splatted onto her purple hair before she stood up in a fury. "MY HAIR!"
"Oh, boy... I know where this is going..." Patch commented.
"Duck down, dudes." Lionel exclaimed as he got under the table.
And so, a food fight broke out between the students, leaving the cafeteria splattered mercilessly. Patch came out of Atticus's backpack and he began to eat some of the food on the floor. Tyke came out of Thor's backpack and soon did the same, both dogs smiling at each other as the rest of the group hid under the table.
"Enough!" Mr. Chapin called as he came into the cafeteria before more food splattered onto him. "I SAID ENOUGH!"
Eventually, the students stopped their food fight and stepped aside, pointing to a certain group of students in blame as they were still fighting rather brutishly.
"You five!" Mr. Chapin glared as he stood over the girls on the floor. "Let's go!"
"Looks like they're in trouble." Atticus said warily in concern.
"No kiddin'." Cherry remarked.
"I'd better go keep an eye on them." Lionel explained.
"Just try not to get too into being Spike." Cherry advised him.
"Relax," Lionel replied. "Zatanna might be this world's equivalent of Rarity, but I already have you!"
"Mm-hmm..." Cherry replied.
"Cousin Atticus, I can't get over that..." Atticus soon said. "Did something change after we came into the book?"
"Makes sense," Mo shrugged. "The world just changed all around this story, so it was bound to change so we could fit in, such as being cousins with someone we weren't before or something like that."
"I just hope Lionel will be alright," Cherry remarked. "Though I'm not too worried. It's only detention."
"Detention on the first day of school," Mr. Chapin tutted before looking over as Lionel was coming over too with Babs the only one excited about getting sent to detention. "You better have a good reason for coming along unless you have detention too, young man!"
"Just making sure to keep an eye on her," Lionel explained. "So she doesn't get into any more trouble!"
Mr. Chapin glanced at Lionel before shrugging and letting him inside before going out the door and slammed the door shut behind him. Lionel soon came to the center of the classroom so that he could see all of the girls, claiming that he had detention too so that he could keep an eye on the girls.
"I hope you all have good attorneys." Zatanna huffed as she filed her nails.
"Rarity..." Lionel began.
"What are you gonna do? Sue me 'cuz I have better aim than you?" Kara scoffed at the purple-haired girl.
"Rainbow Dash I think..." Lionel continued.
"Ooh, I knew you threw those potatoes!" Zatanna scowled at Kara.
"Now, let's not start fighting again." Jessica suggested.
"You threw more nuggets than anyone!" Kara retorted to Zatanna.
"Um, for the record, if I offended anyone, I'm truly very sorry." Karen spoke up nervously.
Babs just looked all around with blind excitement even though there was arguing going on.
"Okay, Jessica is clearly Applejack..." Lionel noted. "And Karen is Fluttershy..."
"You say somethin', Fresh Meat?" Kara glanced at Lionel, nearly dark.
"Who, me?" Lionel replied. "I said nothing important! Nuthin'!"
"Let's try to keep it that way." Kara glared at Lionel.
"Oh, leave him alone," Jessica told the blonde girl. "He's not doing anything."
"We found her just walking around the streets." A man's voice said as he was shown to be a truant officer and the door opened as Mr. Chapin came inside the classroom with a cloaked girl.
"Cutting class on the first day of school," Mr. Chapin tutted as he brought the girl inside. "Get in here with the other delinquents while I find out which homeroom you're in."
The door then shut before the girl pulled down her hood to show a very familiar face that was major news lately.
"Oh!" Babs gasped.
"That's... She's..." Karen whispered in amazement.
"Gorgeous!" Zatanna gushed.
"Is that..." Jessica was about to ask.
"Do you know who that is?!" Babs beamed at Lionel. "It's The Wonder Woman!"
"I've heard plenty about her," Lionel replied. 'I'm guessing she's Twilight... Which makes Babs Pinkie!'
Babs continued to gush from the excitement of having Wonder Woman in her new school.
"That's no Wonder Woman," Kara scoffed as she leaned back in her desk. "It's just some dumb cosplay girl."
"I am no girl. I am Diana, Princess of the Amazons," The black-haired girl glared. "I alone survived the 21 tests of the tournament of Athena and Aphrodite. By right, I am not a girl, but a woman."
"Trust me, Princess, you do not want to start with me." Kara smirked.
"Is this a challenge?" Diana glowered.
"For you, maybe." Kara smirked.
"Very well. I shall allow you first strike." Diana soon told the blonde girl as she stood up straight.
"All right, but you asked for it." Kara said as she stood up and walked over, attempting to punch Diana, only to miss suddenly.
"Again!" Diana challenged.
Kara continued to try to punch or kick Diana, but continued to fail. "Why don't you just stand still?!" she demanded, sounding more and more frustrated.
Eventually, Diana was flung right against the wall, making the others gasp.
"Oh, my gosh," Kara frowned, suddenly feeling guilty as she came towards Diana, concerned she may had gone too far. "Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. I'm so sorry. Are you all-"
Suddenly, Diana shrieked out, then lunged out towards Kara while Zatanna just sat, bored in her desk, filing her nails as she didn't care what was happening around her right now. The two girls continued to grunt, groan, and yell during their fight before a glowing green spring appeared between the two and sprung them both away from each other so that they couldn't fight anymore.
"Both of you, STOP!" Jessica declared, as she recalled the green coil into her ring. "Fighting is never the answer."
"Yes..." Karen added as she was putting on what looked like a robot bumblebee costume. "The answer is..." she then punched a few keys on her armband, before she shrunk to the size of a real bee. "...Running away!" she squeaked before taking off and trying to fly out the closed window while Diana and Kara continued to trade punches.
'...Yeah, definitely Fluttershy...' Lionel thought dryly.
The classroom underwent war between Diana and Kara while the others either sat there or in Karen's case, trying to fly away and Jessica brought out a green shield. Mr. Chapin was soon close to the door as Zatanna continued to do her make-up.
"Teacher's comin'~" Zatanna smirked as she looked at herself in the mirror.
The girls gasped as they soon tried to restore the classroom before Mr. Chapin could walk in and see the mess and their fighting.
Zatanna chanted something in reverse, and in a flash of light, the detention room was restored to normal... Just as Mr. Chapin came inside.
"Everything all right in here?" Mr. Chapin asked.
"Mm-hmm," Zatanna nodded. "Yes, Mr. Chapin."
"All right... Good," Mr. Chapin replied. "I, um, forgot my keys." He took the keys off a nearby ring and exited the room.
"That was so cool...!" Lionel gushed at Zatanna.
"Oh, uh, it was nothing really." Zatanna shrugged innocently.
"Aha! I knew it! I knew it! I knew it! I knew it! I knew it! I knew you were super~" Babs squealed as she jumped out of her desk and faced the other girls in their desks. "I knew it the minute I saw you dent that car door because no ordinary person could possibly slam a door that hard. And then when you spilled all those weird metal thingies on the bus, I knew there was something weird going on with you, too. And then you, all of a sudden, had your backpack, and I was like, 'That's weird'. And then I overheard you talking to that cute boy about some Corps thing and some ring and I knew something was up, so I decided to start a food fight so that we all get detention together, which totally worked," she then said, pointing to all of them. "And then you, I wasn't planning on you showing up at all. So that's just like a huge bonus anyway," she then told Diana. "My plan was that you'd all keep fighting once we got to detention and all get so worked up that you'd be forced to reveal that you're super and guess what, so am I! The one and only Batgirl." she then concluded, jumping up on the teacher's desk of the classroom before wisping with her hoodie like a cape.
"Great! Another cosplayer." Kara rolled her eyes and crossed her arms.
"Huzzah! At last, a sister-in-arms!" Diana exclaimed as she got up and put an arm around Babs' shoulder. "Never had I dreamed I would encounter the warrior spirit of an Amazon upon entering the world of Man! For you see, it is my quest, my crusade, my destiny, to bring the Amazon way of peace and prosperity to man's world, and to rid it of all evil. The gods bestowed this honor upon me and I feared I alone should have to carry my burden. But now...now I have a sister by my side!"
"No! Five sisters!" Babs replied. "And maybe a brother!"
"Heh..." Lionel chuckled. "You should see my friends actually, but I'd be honored. How about you, Kara?" he then asked the blonde girl.
"Uh, nope," Kara shook her head. "I use my powers, I get in trouble. Every single time."
"Not me. I'm not fighting anyone." Jessica added.
"Sorry," Zatanna chuckled in disinterest. "I'm an artiste. Not a police officer."
"Um, I'm not really that good at it." Karen pouted nervously.
"Cowards!" Diana called out, slamming her hands down on Karen's desk, startling her. "I speak of destiny. The same mantle of greatness the gods bestowed upon me, they have also bestowed upon you."
"Plus, come on, you guys!" Babs added cheerfully and hopefully. "How can you not be excited about heroes and villains and fighting crime and hidden lairs and secret identities and stuff?"
Zatanna blinked as she spoke up. "Um, the trick with secret identities, my dear, is that, in order to remain secret, one must convincingly pass as a normal human being." she then reminded.
Babs thought about it before having a new idea. "Okay, tell you what. You guys give being a team a teensie try, she'll teach us how to be heroes and you can give her a makeover. Deal?" she then asked hopefully.
"Who am I to say no to a makeover?" Zatanna admitted with a sigh.
"Um... Okay." Karen added.
"Good for you, Karen," Jessica smiled at her before she spoke up for herself. "I'll try, too, but only to support and encourage Karen's brave decision."
Everyone else looked at Kara for the final verdict.
"Fine. Whatever." Kara shrugged.
"Yes! It's settled. Super awesome super hero-ness, here we come!" Babs beamed in excitement. "Lionel, you go get your friends and they can help us out too! I mean, if they're really up for it, I mean."
Lionel gave a wink and a grin (think Sonic, circa 1999). "You got it, Ace!" he declared.
"Awesome!" Babs beamed. "I'm so excited!~"
Lionel did a little gesture with his hands, before he immediately vanished in a poof of magic. The others looked wide-eyed and surprised.
The rest of the group was hanging out in the gym.
"Oh... You guys are still here." Lionel said once he reappeared.
"We wouldn't leave you behind, buddy." Thor smiled as he was playing basketball with Atticus while Cherry, Mo, and Patch sat on the bleachers.
"Well, we've got the others onboard," Lionel replied as a progress report. "Gonna show Wondy how to be normal while she gives the others superhero training."
"Wondy?" Cherry paused. "Oh, you mean Wonder Woman."
"Uh-huh." Lionel nodded.
"So, you think we should help out these superhero girls even if they don't realize their potential yet?" Atticus suggested as he shot the basketball into the net once it was his turn to play.
"Sure," Lionel replied. "Besides, they're gonna be friends, even if they don't realize it yet."
"Sounds like The Breakfast Club to me," Cherry remarked. "...Even if I haven't seen that movie... Or like Super Detention."
"Super Detention probably works," Patch agreed. "...Wait, what's Super Detention?"
"Students in a superhero school get detention together and have to work together," Cherry said. "Guess this storyline is pretty much Super Detention: DC Superheros Edition."
"Alright, sounds good!" Lionel declared. "They should be out of detention by the end of the day."
"In the meantime, I got a basketball game to win." Thor smirked as he took the ball next.
"Not if I win first." Atticus smirked back.
"Boys." Cherry and Mo playfully rolled their eyes.
"Sure, I guess." Lionel shrugged as he plopped down on the bleachers nearby.
Atticus and Thor went back to their basketball game for a while.
"So, does this group seem interesting?" Cherry asked. "They reminded me of certain adventures in a different world we'd go into based around ponies if you know what I mean."
"It sure does!" Lionel replied. "It's kinda like being in Equestria, but sorta like being on a Canterlot High adventure. I figured out that the gang is the Mane Six, and that more-or-less makes me Spike!"
"Is that why you were looking at Zatanna funny?" Cherry asked, crossing her arms sharply.
"Ooh... Is somebody jealous?" Patch teased and smirked.
"Dogs should be seen and not heard." Cherry told him snidely.
Lionel bowed his head in shame. "I'm sorry I did that..." he told Cherry. "I was merely playing the role that my counterpart in this universe would fill."
"Hmm..." Cherry paused thoughtfully before she soon ruffled up his hair. "All right, I'm not terribly angry. I just didn't think you'd do something like that, plus Zatanna is rather pretty."
"Yeah." Lionel nodded.
"All right... You get a pass," Cherry decided as she put her hands together. "So... Is Bat-Mite just joining these girls for now or shall The Alpha Brigade come in later to be of some assistance?"
"Well, you all can come along if you want!" Lionel beamed. "I don't mind, personally!"
"Oh... Okay then..." Cherry replied before looking at the others. "How 'bout it, gang?"
The others agreed as that did sound like a pretty good idea.
"Might as well make the most of our time here." Patch even agreed.
"All right! Let's do it!" Lionel nodded.
