Tohru stared at the stick in front of her. The little red plus sign defiantly stared back. They agreed on two kids, not three. She picked it up and put it behind her back before opening the bath room door. She found Kyo sitting on their couch with their younger son, six year old Kazuya, on his lap holding a children's book up. "You okay? You were in there awhile." He asked his wife. She nodded.
"Y-yeah. A bit. I, ummm..." Tohru began. She looked down before taking a breath and shakily holding the test up. "I'm just... P... Pregnant..." She finished. Kyo stared at her wide eyed for what felt like an eternity and dropped the book he was holding.
"My book!" Kazuya cried out in anger, reaching out his tiny arms.
"But... That's... We've been so... And y-you've been on..." Kyo put Kazuya on the floor and stood up. "H-h-how did this happen?!" He asked.
"Do you really want me to answer that in front of our six year old?" She replied with a nervous smile. They looked down to see Kazuya staring back.
"How did what happen?" He boy asked
"Nothing son! Don't worry about it!" Kyo replied in a panic. He sighed and walked over to her, putting his arms around her. "Why didn't you say anything?"
Tohru frowned. "I was scared of how you would react. We agreed on two kids." She replied sadly.
"Yeah I'm surprised but I would have a hundred babies with you if it was what you wanted, Tohru. I'm really happy." He whispered in her ear. She felt her eyes sting as tears welled up and clutched his t-shirt.
"I'm home." They heard their oldest son call out as walked in.
"Welcome home!" Tohru greeted.
"What's wrong?" He asked.
"Your mom is pregnant again." Kyo stated matter of factly.
"Ew gross!" Hajime exclaimed and went to his room.
"What does that mean?" Kazuya asked.
"It means I'm going to have a baby!" His mother told him. Kazuyas eyes widened.
"But I'm the baby! I don't wanna be a big brother!" He yelled.
Kyo chuckled at him. "You don't have a choice. Sorry, bud."
"Will I have to share my toys?" Kazuya asked.
"Maybe. At least, not for a few years." Tohru told him with a sweet smile. The little boy pouted with a sad look in his eyes so Tohru crouched down to his level and gently ruffled his hair. "Are you afraid we'll love the baby more than you?" Kazuya looked like he was on the verge of tears. "Oh, honey!" Tohru took him into his arms and held him close then she picked him up. Kazuya snuggled his face into his mothers neck, letting out small sniffles into her skin. "We would never do that. We love all of our children. You never have to worry about that." She told him. Kyo smiled at the scene and hugged them so that Kazuya was sandwiched between them.
"I don't want to share my momma though!" Kazuya cried, which made Tohru smile happily at him.
"We love all of you guys. So much that we need the new baby so share all of it." Kyo said softly.
"You guys are so cheesy..." Hajime said as he entered the room. Kyo gave him a hard bump with his knuckle against his oldest sons head.
"Ow!" The older boy complained.
"Don't be rude. Kazuya is upset over the news. Tell him it's going to be fine, please." Kyo replied. Hajime sighed.
"Yeah... You don't have to worry. Babies can be fun, when they get a little older anyway."
"See? Nothing to worry about!" Tohru told her young son. Kazuya nodded.
"I'm still not sharing my toys..." He mumbled which made his father chuckle lightly and his mother smiled while she held him a little tighter.
