My first MHA fic actually my first fic that I really tried on but that's beside the point-

Anyways, I just wanted to say, 5809 words, 11 pages, size 12 font. Took exactly 2 weeks and it pains me to realize that if I hadn't focused on school, it might've taken much, much less time. I do have a problem. I feel kinda bad for making Todoroki suffer, but from other authors I've read, I have a feeling that it's something you become numb to after a while.

I own nothing :) Also-Bakugo has a no-no potty mouth so be wary of the possibly excessive swearing in here. Enjoy and good luck!

Todoroki leaned against the cold surface of the wall behind him and groaned tiredly. Mr. Aizawa had brought class 1A to the USJ for battle strategy training after their hour of lecture. Having not slept well the night before, Todoroki felt drained of, well, everything. Overall, in one word, he felt like shit. All he longed for was the hour of training to be over so he could return to his dorm and sleep. Man, sleep sounded really good right about now. He shut his eyes and took a deep breath to calm down his now churning stomach. His headache had gone from a small throb in the back of his head to a raging pounding and he began to feel dizzy.

Just another hour. Stop being so damn weak.

He opened his eyes as something slammed into the wall next to him and remembered he was, in fact, still in class. Midoriya pushed himself off of the wall and Todoroki a quirky side smile before running off, motioning for him to follow. Todoroki took off after him, ignoring his growing dizziness. He reached where Midoriya was and realized they were up against Bakugo and Iida. He didn't remember getting assigned a group already but he had been slammed against a wall before he forgot what had happened.

"A tough match up, but not impossible." He mumbled to himself.

"This isn't going to be easy, but I have a plan worked out to help us win. It really depends on how they react so we'll probably end up having to adapt and change the plan as the match plays out." Midoriya turned to him. He explained the plan and luckily, it wasn't complicated at all and Todoroki's tired brain was able to follow through.

The plan worked out pretty well until Todoroki had to bait Iida to get his attention off of Bakugo and Midoriya. He ran into the clearing between them and Iida charged at him with alarming speed. Todoroki used a fire blast to propel himself up out of Iida's reach but noticed something was wrong when his left hand began to overheat and burn. His eyes widened as he pulled his hand in and forced ice onto it. He hissed in pain from how much it stung. He heard a panicked voice shouting and looked down to see it was Iida. Then it hit him, he was plummeting towards the ground at a rapid speed because his hand burned, preventing him from using his fire to make another blast. A massive rush of adrenaline flowed through his veins and Todoroki shoved his right hand in front of him and blasted a rugged path of ice to slide down, slowing his fall slightly. He hit the ice with a thunk and rolled down clumsily, landing unceremoniously in front of his opponent. Iida ran over to him as he tried to catch the breath that had just been knocked out of him. Until that moment, Todoroki had forgotten about his head and when the adrenaline slowed, the pain hit him like a shockwave and he squeezed his eyes shut, pressing the backs of his battered hands into his eyelids.

"...doroki?" Iida's voice faded into his conscience and Todoroki opened his eyes. He groaned as the class rep approached him. He felt a sharp slap on his cheek and his hand shot up to where Iida had slapped him.

"W-what the 'ell was that for?" Todoroki said clumsily. His voice was uncharacteristically raspy and weak, making him cringe slightly.

"What the hell was that Todoroki?! You could have injured yourself then you would have been taken out of class until you healed! Don't take things like this lightly!" Iida flooded him with a serious-sounding speech but Todoroki only caught the first part from the ringing that had started flooding his ears.

He quickly stood up, causing his head to spin even faster, but he kept his posture strong and tall, as if to act like nothing happened. He muttered a quick 'sorry' to Iida before trapping him in a pillar of ice (it was quite easy since the other boy was distracted) and ran off to find Midoriya (which wasn't too terribly difficult as he could hear Bakugo's unending flow of swears and insults). The ground shook with explosions and Todoroki stumbled into a pile of rubble. The world around him was spinning out of control and he felt like someone had taken his stomach, put it into a dryer, and then wrung it out for extra measure. He stopped for a moment and doubled over, groaning as the foul, acidic vomit poured up his throat and splattered in front of him. He coughed and let his knees give out, hitting the ground hard. He rested there for a moment until he heard a concerned voice behind him.

"You okay Todoroki?"

It was Iida.

He got out of the ice.

His distraction failed.

He failed.

Blaming his failure on his lack of sleep, Todoroki stood up quickly and turned to face his classmate and representative. He nodded sharply, fearing that if he opened his mouth, he would throw up again. He took off in hopes that Iida would follow him, and he did. At full speed. Tackling him hard, Iida pinned Todoroki to the ground. He cried out from the pain that flared in his head and right arm and twisted to flip Iida off of him and restrain him, correctly this time. He pushed his elbow into Iida's throat as he summoned a whole lot of ice to cement him to the ground but Iida managed to slip out of his grasp at the last second. He took a few swings at Todoroki and managed to land a hard kick right in his ribs. Stumbling back, Todoroki struggled to catch his breath as another wave of attacks flew at him. He managed to dodge them all and grabbed Iida's leg, tripping him and causing him to crash to the ground. Taking a deep breath, he summoned a massive ice attack and froze Iida to the ground, immobilizing him. Todoroki's vision blurred as he stood up to find Midoriya and Bakugo. He found them taking hits at each other in a blown apart building and ran up to his teammate to confirm that Iida was taken care of.

"Oi! Icyhot made it! Now I can whip both of your asses!" Bakugo shouted with a menacing smile.

Midoriya pulled Todoroki under a shaft and they revised the plan they had come up with before.

"I managed to tire him out a little so we just need to split and draw his attention from both sides." Todoroki gave a nod of approval and they ran out to carry out the new plan.

Midoriya ran to Bakugo's left and Todoroki to the right. Giving the signal, Midoriya jumped up and landed a punch on Bakugo, sending him to the wall. He roared as he charged his two opponents.

"Two against one! HA! Prepare to get your asses whooped!" Bakugo shouted with explosive excitement.

He shot out explosions directed at the two and laughed maniacally as they stumbled out of the way. He blasted himself at Midoriya as if to say, "I'll beat your ass no problem. Then it'll just be me and the half-and-half bastard!" Punching aggressively and quickly, the spiky-haired boy attacked Midoriya and Todoroki blasted him with an icy counterattack. Bakugo shifted his attention to him and shot an explosion in his direction. With a rush of adrenaline, Todoroki leapt over the offensive attack and struck Bakugo on his shoulder. The boy stumbled back, gripping his arm and flashed another menacing smile. Jumping back as Bakugo swung at him, Todoroki gave Midoriya the signal to move in. He nodded and jumped at Bakugo, uppercutting him and sending him flying towards the wall again.

It was quiet.

"Is he-" Todoroki began. Midoriya ran over to where Bakugo had landed and saw their opponent was knocked out, or so they thought.

Midoriya turned as he felt Todoroki's presence behind him, and in that split second, felt a hand grab the front of his training uniform and send him flying towards the opposite wall with a blast. His breath was knocked out from the force of the impact and stars danced at the edge of his vision.

"I had a feeling you were gonna try to distract me by splitting up, so I planned ahead." Bakugo said, alarmingly calm. He gave Todoroki a wide smile before swinging at him.

Dodging the very obvious attack, Todoroki felt his adrenaline fading and stumbled as he landed, leaning against the wall to steady himself. He saw Midoriya struggling to catch his breath and stand up after being thrust into the wall.

This is what happens when you're weak, you get slow and people get hurt. This is your fault. Now stop being weak and beat his ass!

Midoriya caught his breath and leapt up from the floor, charging at Bakugo. He managed to tackle him and pulled his arms behind his back. Todoroki ran to help, freezing the spiky-haired boy to the ground. Midoriya jumped up and grinned. Todoroki, however, knew something was off.

"Don't celebrate yet, Midoriya. He's trying to trick us again. There's no way he'll accept defeat this easily." He looked back at where he had frozen Bakugo and to his expectations, the ice shattered with a bang and their opponent stood up in front of them.

"I guess there's no point in pretending huh? Honestly, I'm not surprised the bastard figured it out. I just can't wait to fucking beat you!" He swung at Midoriya, who dodged and attempted to land a hit on him.

Todoroki waited for Midoriya to jump before attacking Bakugo with a blast of ice. Laughing maniacally, he punched through the attack and sent ice shards and Todoroki flying.

"Not using your fire? Don't underestimate me you bastard! Come at me with all you got!" Bakugo yelled at him angrily. He blasted Todoroki with an explosion, causing him to crash into a pile of rubble.

Todoroki gasped as a rock impaled his calf and Midoriya charged at Bakugo while he was distracted and sent him through the floor, dust pluming up from where he had crashed. Standing up shakily, Todoroki limped over to Midoriya and the hole in the floor. His adrenaline was practically gone at this point and felt like collapsing any minute. His head had begun to pound and his arms were so sore that he feared they would fall off. Peering into the whole, Bakugo was unconscious, for real this time. Relief and exhaustion filled his body as Mr. Aizawa confirmed their victory in the faux battle. They pulled Bakugo out of the rubble and Todoroki thawed the ice encasing Iida with his fire. He looked at his hand, red with heat and clenched it into a fist, biting his lip to ignore the pain.

Iida stood up and shook Todoroki's and Midoriya's hands. "Well done classmates. You won. I will train to be strong enough to beat you." He turned to Mr. Aizawa and gave a sharp nod.

They walked past where Todoroki had vomited and he sighed inwardly from relief that he had covered up his pre-digested food before taking off. They got back to the top of the USJ where the rest of the class congratulated the two victors. The world spun violently, threatening to knock Todoroki right off of his feet. His head pounded and he felt unbearably warm… no… hot. His arms felt strangely detached and he felt like he was physically melting. He found a bench and sat down roughly. Pulling the leg of his training uniform up to his knee, Todoroki looked at his calf, which was still bleeding and aching. Closing his eyes, he let his chin drop to his chest as he tried to control his breathing and calm down his cramping stomach.

"Todoroki?" He groaned as someone approached him. He just wanted to ignore them, blame the voice on his overheated brain.

Opening his eyes, he saw a tall figure with fiery red hair standing over him.

Oh please no.

"You good man?" Kirishima looked worried.

Mustering all of his willpower together and urging his food to stay down, Todoroki managed to croak out, "Yeah, I'm fine. Just a little tired." Since when was his throat hurting?

He sat up and put his head in his hands. Class was almost over. All he had to do was wait, get on the bus, get off the bus, go up a few stairs, go up the elevator, and walk to his room, then he could sleep. It felt like his match session had been at least two hours, even though it was only a matter of about fifteen minutes. Man, he thought he felt like shit earlier, but he felt so much worse now. His stomach churned harder as he stood up, the world spinning and tilting before his eyes. Just one more group until class was over. Standing next to Midoriya and Iida, he watched as Uraka, Tokoyami, Mineto, and Sero made their way down to the arena.

"Woah." Midoriya said, "Todoroki, you're physically radiating heat. Are you okay?"

"Yeah I'm fine. I've already said it multiple times." He replied calmly. He wished people would stop asking him if he was fine, of course he was fine.

"Are you sure? Not to be rude but you look not good. Like really not good."

He was fine. Wasn't he? Did he not look fine? "Yeah, I'm just a bit tired."

The awkward exchange ended as abruptly as it had started and they stood there, watching their classmates. Tokoyami and Mineta ended up claiming victory in the end after a quite confusing match (or it was at least confusing for Todoroki's melting brain). The class followed Mr. Aizawa back to the bus and after climbing up the steps and walking down the aisle, Todoroki collapsed into a seat and leaned his head against the window. The cool glass felt good on his burning face and he sighed, enjoying the feeling. The bus pulled out and the movement worsened his headache. Groaning, he stood up and made his way to the back of the bus where the confined bathroom was and snuck in, taking care to make sure the door was actually closed and locked. He dropped to his knees in front of the toilet bowl and groaned as he tried to keep his breathing under control. Tears leaked out of the corners of his eyes as he vomited, the acid burning his nose and throat. After his stomach stopped convulsing, he sat back and leaned against the wall of the bathroom. Rubbing his hands over his face, he groaned as his headache worsened with the justling of the bus's movements. Forcing himself to stand up, he approached the sink and splashed some water on his face before taking a deep breath in and emerging quietly to return to his seat. The rest of the ride was uneventful and Todoroki ended up falling asleep…

.

"...roki?" He woke up to someone gently tapping on his cheek and opened his eyes slowly. Uraraka's eyes lit up as she confirmed that he was awake. "We just got back and I didn't wanna leave you on the bus." She gave him a sweet smile.

As he stood up, his head began spinning violently and he had almost forgotten what happened earlier. Todoroki grabbed his head for a second before realizing Uraraka's and Kirshima's concerned faces. He gave a slight smile in hopes of reassuring them but they had already begun to make their way off of the bus. Picking up his pace to catch up with them, he realized speeding up was the wrong decision to make. As his stomach began twisting, he gagged, trying to keep his body under control. The fact that the world was spinning around him didn't help at all. He felt like everything was moving choppily and slowly. His movements felt awkward and clumsy and he felt his feet dragging behind him.

Stop being weak. I just need to get to my dorm, then I can sleep.

He was practically begging his body to cooperate with him and it worked… for a little. He stumbled up the stairs and made it to the common room where Kirishima, Kaminari and Yaoyorozu were sitting on their phones. All he needed to do was get in the elevator, get to his dorm, then he could sleep. He got to the elevator and saw a note, "Elevator currently out of order, sorry for the inconvenience."

Of course, just what I needed.

He made his way clumsily to the bottom of the staircase and began his slow ascension. He made it to the first landing and realized:

I'm not gonna make it. I'm screwed. SHIT!

The world tilted and his head felt like it was detached from his body. His vision blurred and stretched weirdly as he felt himself falling. It was almost like he was watching himself. He saw his eyes roll back into his head as he fell down the stairs. He felt like he was being pulled down aggressively and felt pain, then nothing.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Todoroki felt like he was floating. Wherever he was, it was warm and comfortable and he never wanted to leave. It was much better than the pain he was in earlier. It felt like the gentle, still waters of a sound. His head was cloudy and devoid of thought. He couldn't remember what he had just been doing but honestly, he didn't really care. Suddenly, the calm, still water began churning and boiling and he now felt like he was falling, more like plummeting off of a cliff. He was aware of voices filling his head and people around him. When he hit the rocks at the bottom of the cliff, he felt sharp pain in his head, arms and legs. And oh, his stomach. It felt like it was being stretched out and squished together at the same time and he heard someone, himself groan. His eyelids fluttered open and he cringed from the bright light that met his eyes. His headache flared and he groaned again.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

When he woke up, the first thing Todoroki was aware of was pain. Then the presence of people around him. Groaning, he opened his eyes and saw the worried faces of Kirishima, Kaminari and Yaoyorozu. Then he noticed that he was on the landing of the staircase and facing into the common room. Grunting, Todoroki forced himself to sit up, much to the distaste of his classmates. He looked around at the faces around him, trying to piece everything together. How the hell did he get here? Wasn't he just getting on the bus after battle strategy training at the USJ with Mr. Aizawa? Why was he in so much pain?

Momo looked him in the eyes and appeared to say something but Todoroki couldn't make out anything she was trying to say to him. Kirishima grabbed Todoroki's shoulders and propped him up against the wall. He was trying to say something but to Todoroki, everything sounded garbled, like it was underwater. He managed to make out a "Hey, stay with me, ok?", but trying to focus on anything was making him uncomfortably dizzy and gave, or attempted to, give a sluggish nod. He watched as Kaminari said something to Yaoyorozu and Kirishima, then took off down the hallway. His eyelids began drooping and he felt his consciousness ebbing away.

"No, stay awake Todoroki." Momo's distorted voice filled his ears and he fought to keep his eyes open. Everything was spinning around him and the faces of his classmates blurred and stretched. He gagged as his stomach flared with pain and he just wanted to return to the bliss that he had fallen out of a few moments ago.

Still trying to keep himself awake, Todoroki saw two more blurry figures come from down the hallway, one of which was Kaminari. He couldn't make out who the second figure was, all he saw was a grey-ish black blob. His stomach sank when he realized who the second figure was when they came closer.

Why did Kaminari bring Mr. Aizawa here? To help? I don't need help… I'm fine. I just need to get up the stairs and to my dorm. I don't-

His thoughts were cut off as a sharp voice pierced his mind.

"Todoroki." He lifted his head sluggishly to look at his teacher's blurry face. He could tell from the tone of his voice, that he was displeased. "Can you stand?"

Todoroki took a moment to process his words before planting a hand on the floor and pulled himself into a kneeling position. His arms shook as he attempted to plant his feet on the floor but when he was upright, he felt his brain fall to the left side of his head, his body listing sideways with it. A strong hand grabbed his arm before he collided with the floor. He followed it with his eyes and confirmed that it belonged to Kirishima. He lowered Todoroki slowly to the floor and blatantly said, "I'd take that as a no."

Todoroki suppressed a groan as he felt someone's arms slip under him and lift him from the floor, the movement making his vision dance with white spots. His head pounded with each step Mr. Aizawa took and the corners of his vision began to fade. His eyelids drooped closed and he fell into the bliss that was unconsciousness.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

It was dark when Todoroki woke up and he immediately knew he was in Recovery Girl's office. His head felt like it was stuffed with cotton and everything looked and sounded muffled, in a way. He looked up and recognized that someone was sitting in the chair across from the bed he was laying in but wasn't sure if they were awake or not. The clock above the door frame read 03:15 and his heart raced as the person in the chair shuffled around a bit. From the dim moonlight filtering in through the blinds, he realized the person in the chair was none other than Mr. Aizawa. His eyes glinted dangerously in the darkness and Todoroki opened his mouth to say something but his teacher already beat him to it.

"The actions you displayed today were immature, irresponsible, and stupid. I expected better from you, Todoroki. You knew something was wrong yet you didn't think to ask for help or tell anybody. In fact, multiple people reported hearing that you were 'completely fine' and 'just tired'." Todoroki could hear the air quotes on the last part of his sentence. "If you had just asked for help, you wouldn't be in this position right now. You really gave your classmates a scare back there with that stunt you pulled." Mr. Aizawa crossed his arms and stared Todoroki in the eye. He waited as if to say, "If you have an excuse, go ahead and tell me."

Todoroki didn't know what to say. He just stared at his teacher, trying to take in the information hurled at him. Did he really scare his classmates that much? He just fell down the stairs, right? Why was he even here? He was fine, right? Sighing, he closed his eyes and let his chin fall to his chest. He took a deep breath, caught it to say something, then released it, knowing that no matter what he said, the results wouldn't vary. Todoroki was in for it and he knew that.

"There was obviously a reason why you didn't want to ask for help. I'm not going to press, but whatever this reason may be, it shouldn't keep you from asking in the future, thanks to what we've learned today. Will this continue to keep you from asking for help?"

What Mr. Aizawa had said shocked Todoroki. He looked up and he muttered his honest answer, "Yes, it will."

His teacher's presence didn't falter, as if he was expecting this exact answer. "Very well then. You had a rough day, get some rest." Mr. Aizawa opened up the door and walked out, closing the door behind him.

Todoroki pondered for a moment on why Mr. Aizawa had interrogated him like that. His answer didn't even seem to surprise him and he wasn't lectured for very long. He felt his eyes closing and he allowed them to, slipping into a comfortable slumber.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Todoroki awoke to bright light filling the room and sat up, rubbing his eyes groggily. The clock above the door frame read 15:43 and he felt blood rush up his neck. He had been asleep for almost a full twenty-four hours.

What the hell am I doing?

Then the events of his conversation with his teacher earlier that morning came back to him and he immediately wanted to pretend it hadn't happened. His thought process was interrupted when the door burst open and Kirishima, Kaminari, and Yaoyorozu stumbled in. His attention snapped up at the sudden commotion and looked at his three classmates standing in front of him.

"Hey." Yaoyorozu said, breaking the awkward silence, "How are you feeling? Better?"

Todoroki took a moment to process her words and then gave a groggy nod. They seemed relieved about something but Todoroki couldn't think of what.

"Mr. Aizawa came and visited you earlier, do you remember it?" Kaminari spoke up.

"Oh, he did?" Todoroki lied.

"Yeah but he said you were pretty out of it. Said it took you a while to process anything so I'm not surprised you don't remember it."

Todoroki looked down at his lap. He wanted to be alone, without his classmates fawning over him. He couldn't think of why he was even here in the first place. Hell, he couldn't even remember what had happened yesterday.

"You really scared us yesterday." Kirishima said adamantly. He gave a stone cold look to everyone in the room and Kaminari and Yaoyorozu nodded.

What happened yesterday? Why were they worried?

Todoroki hated himself for not being able to remember. He hated himself for making people worry, for looking and feeling weak. Then he realized something… off about the three people standing before him. The edges of their eyes were red and slightly swollen, but it was most noticeable on Yaoyorozu. They had been crying, but they had obviously tried to cover it up. His eyes widened and the atmosphere changed completely.

He hung his head down and closed his eyes, searching every part of his brain to try to remember. He finally gave up and looked at his classmates. "Sorry, I…"

Silence.

His friends looked at him with mixed expressions of relief, worry, and small amounts of anger and sadness. They waited for him to finish speaking.

Todoroki felt blood rushing up his neck and spreading across his cheeks. He began to feel dizzy and his heart raced.

"I-I don't…", he took a deep breath and looked at his friends with a solemn face. "I don't know what you-I don't remember what happened."

It seemed as if all sound had been sucked out of the room and the four looked at each other in a deep silence.

Yaoyorozu took a deep breath and looked up at the ceiling. "We had a feeling you would say that… it's just-"

"We didn't want to believe it. Do you want to know what… what happened?" Kirishima locked eyes with Todoroki.

He had never seen his classmates act like this. He wanted this to be a dream, and he would wake up in his dorm, shrug it off and forget about it. But this, this was real. This was reality and he wanted it to end. He wanted his classmates to return to their usual lively selves and act like everything was fine and normal.

"It's fine if you don't but-"

"-yes, tell me-please, if you don't mind." Todoroki blurted out before thinking about it.

The three looked at each other and Kirishima stepped closer to the bed. He took a deep breath and was about to begin talking when the door opened and Recovery Girl came in.

"Oh good, you're awake." She shooed Todoroki's classmates out of the room and closed the door.

Great, I'll have to catch them later.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

18:41

Todoroki thanked Recovery Girl and left her office, slipping the door shut quietly behind him. He walked down the hallway, almost disturbed that it was quiet enough for him to hear his own footsteps echoing on the marble flooring. He sighed and shoved his hands deep into his pants' pockets. As he reached the front doors, the sun had started to set and he pushed the doors open, the crisp evening air filling his nostrils with the scent of freshly cut grass. The 1-A dorm building was only a few blocks away so he decided to walk there because it was nice enough to do so. A soft breeze blew through the trees, rustling the leaves and blowing his hair off of his face. Every now and then, a car would speed past, breaking the tranquility of his evening walk. He stopped only for a moment to look at the crimson red sunset before resuming his walk. About fifteen minutes later, he walked down the center walkway in front of the 1-A dorm building, his shoes scratching on the leaves that had been blown off of trees' branches. As he neared the door, Todoroki realized the eerie silence that came upon him. The wind stopped blowing, the frogs stopped peeping and the insects stopped chirping. The common area didn't emit any noise, which was even more strange, as his classmates were always lively and riled up after class. He picked at the gauze wrapping around his left forearm and hand, pondering whether or not to go in or just wait outside. He didn't want to face his classmates, especially Midoriya. Taking a deep breath, he pulled the door open and a sick feeling came to his stomach. The common room was empty. Empty except for three people who sat facing each other on the couches. Kirishima looked up from his lap when the door opened and when his face stayed uncharacteristically dark, Todoroki knew what had happened yesterday really scared them. He took a hesitant step inside and made his way over to the couches where they sat.

"Guys, I'm sorry for scaring you with whatever happened yesterday, and I just-"

"-you don't need to apologize." A voice came from the other side of the room. He looked and saw Iida standing in the shadows. Iida stepped forward. "I knew something was wrong with you, but I shrugged it off, thinking you were being honest with me. I can understand not wanting people to worry about you, but I think it went out of hand this time." Todoroki, still confused, looked at Iida with sorrow-filled eyes.

"When you… passed out on the stairs yesterday, I didn't know what to do. Until Kaminari broke me out of my stupor, I just sat there, watching as you fell. I could've reached you, but I was frozen." Yaoyorozu said darkly, the shadows casting weirdly over her face.

Now that he realized it, the entire mood of the room changed, it was dark and the air seemed to hang low and heavily over them, like a woolen blanket. He noticed how each of his classmates' faces resembled the next, but the expressions and emotions were different on all of them. A cold feeling came over him and he swallowed thickly, sighing before deciding to speak.

"You guys… I don't want you to blame yourselves for what happened. It's my fault that things went as far as they did, I was being immature and stupid. I just want you to-"

"-stop worrying? We can't, especially because we feel responsible. You were with us, we could've helped you so easily, but we shook away the signs, because we didn't want to be annoying." Todoroki felt his heart pounding in his throat as Midoriya came out of the elevator and stood before them. He was uncharacteristically serious and his appearance just made Todoroki feel more guilty.

Kaminari stood up. "Well, we know why we're all here right now… So let's just get this over with, alright?" He approached Todoroki and his body language suggested that he wanted the latter to sit down, so sitting on the armchair of one of them couches, Todoroki complied.

His classmates took turns filling him in on the events that had occurred yesterday and the feeling of dread and guilt continued to grow in his stomach. He really let these people down and he felt that they must be angry with him. Kaminari finished off the recap by telling Todoroki how he'd gotten Aizawa and brought him to Recovery Girl and they took turns visiting.

"Are you guys… mad at me?" Everybody glanced up at him, shocked.

"No, not at all! Why would you think tha-" Midoriya put up his hands innocently.

"Well, we aren't angry, but a little frustrated." Iida cut him off. "We were just… surprised that you didn't trust us enough to say anything."

"Wait, this has nothing to do with that. I trust you guys, 100 percent." Todoroki's voice quavered a bit. He looked down at his sweaty palms.

"I'm not gonna press, but if there's anything you want to talk about, you can tell us. We're friends, aren't we?" Iida looked at him with kind eyes, a feeling of sincerity filled that room.

Todoroki looked up at him and felt himself smiling. He tried to stop it, but his face had betrayed him. He nodded.

"Oh, what are we standing around for? C'mon guys, bring it in!" Kirishima exclaimed, his face lighting up with the weight that had seemed to be lifted off of his chest.

Midoriya, Yaoyorozu, Kirishima, and Kaminari enveloped him in a tight hug, and Iida snapped back.

"Hey! Be careful! He could still be healing! You don't want to aggravate his in- huh!" Yaoyorozu grabbed his arm and pulled him into the group hug.

"Loosen up a bit! Enjoy this moment." She smiled as Iida reluctantly put his arms down and joined the rest of them.

They stood there for a while, just enjoying the comfort of being with their friends. When the hug finally ended, it felt like it had lasted an eternity, but it had only been a matter of a few moments. They disbanded and looked at everyone there, smiling.

"Now that's done, let's get some food. I'm starving." Todoroki said and they all made their way to the kitchen, laughter filling the 1-A dorm building.
