Love and Hate.
Two different emotions, yet similar in nature. One cannot exist without the other, they are two sides of the same coin. Able to be used interchangeably in some cases. Loving someone means also having the capacity to hate them as the very definition of love is giving someone the key to destroying you and yet trusting them not to. When that trust is broken the hatred seeps in flipping the coin to display the other side, opening the Pandora's box allowing the hateful emotions to corrupt the very embodiment of that love. Gaining back that trust requires time and patience to sift through the negative emotions until you are at the very core to flip the coin to the other side.
However no two humans are built the same as we all have different experiences, come from different backgrounds, walked different lives and most importantly have differing opinions. This means that people react differently when the trust they placed on their loved ones is broken but they do not stray from the general love/hate coin, they express their hate in different ways whether they allow it explode or sizzle and die out. The may take varying paths but they all lead to the same thing.
Which brings us to the present. Taking into consideration the love/hate coin, how does a person nigh incapable of hate and holding grudges react when the trust they placed on a loved is broken. Do they uphold the love/hate status quo or do they have an entirely different coin to follow.
Hinata woke up with a groan and a throbbing pain in her head. Bringing up one hand she rubbed her temple however that proved fruitless in alleviating her pain. Opening her eyes she half expected the sun's Ray's to stab into her retinas as is the clichè experience one goes through when awaking to a hangover but none of that was present as the room was cloaked in darkness. Sitting up with the blankets trailing down and settling on her lap she looked around the room but couldn't see anything, reaching out with her hand she patted around the wooden surface of her night stand searching for her phone, a few seconds later her fingers touched the cool surface of her phone and they enclosed around it bringing it up to her face.
Sliding her hand across the screen in search of the home button and upon finding it she pressed and immedietly her eyes shut as the light from the phone assaulted her eyes. Ah there it is, the clichè experience. Opening her eyes once again, blinking a few times to adjust she couldn't help the smile that spread on her face as the background picture greeted her. It was of her and a blond man smiling as they stared at the camera. Swiping her hand she realised that she had received a text message 15 minutes ago.
Opening it she saw it was from someone called Honeybunch and it read: "Hey I'm passing by the store do you need anything?". Sighing she was about to put away her phone when a groan from besides her sounded. Tensing in shock, her muscles locked up she gripped her phone in a vice grip, a presence in her bedroom was something she least expected seeing as he was not home yet. A light breeze brushed on her naked upper body and she shivered. Bringing up her phone with shaking hands she opened the torch app and almost dropped her phone in shock.
Laying besides her was an olive colored male with shaggy brown hair and red fang tattoos on his cheeks. He was sound asleep judging by the rhythmic movement of his chest though his eyes were scrunched up due to the light shining on his face. Though Hinata didn't seem to take note of any of that as her breathing was gradually increasing as the events of earlier today were replaying in her mind.
The man besides stirred bringing his hand up to shield his face.
"What the hell?" he asked wearily opening his eyes, blinking a few times. His question went unanswered as he noticed the near hyperventilating woman besides him who was pointing the flashlight towards with shaking hands.
"Hinata what's going on?" he asked sitting up but he was yet again ignored.
"Hey Hinata-" he tried once more reaching out to shake her shoulder but as soon as he made contact with her, she flinched away from and seemed to curl herself into a ball.
"Get out." she said softly, her voice shaky as she tried to hold back her tears.
"What, you can't be seri-"
"KIBA GET OUT!" she shouted no longer holding back her tears as they streamed down her face not that he could see that due to the darkness.
The silence was oppressive before the weight on the bed decreased as Kiba hopped off the bed, he walked a few steps before halting.
"Where's the light switch, can't find my clothes in this darkness." he asked but silence was his response. "I guess I'll find it myself then."
He made his way towards the walls of the room and searched for the light switch. It took a few moments but eventually he found it, flicking it on, the light washed into the room driving the shadows into the corners of the room. With the lights on it was easy to find his clothing which he quickly gathered. Slipping on his boxers he took a look at the woman still hadn't moved. She had her legs drawn to her chest and with her head buried in them. Her body heaved as silent sobs and occasional sniffles escaped her.
He opened his mouth and quickly closed it not knowing what he would say but before anything could come to mind the sound of the door opening and closing was heard.
Hinata immediately stiffened and lifted her head, an expression of fear written across her face.
She knew what the sound of the door meant and couldn't help the feeling of dread bubbling in her stomach causing it to sink, figuratively of course.
Naruto was home.
