The Verdant Nightclub was THE place to be on a Saturday night. Everyone who was anyone was there, including the four detectives of Mystery Incorporated and their dog, Scooby-Doo.

They, however, weren't there for the dancing scene — they were on the trail of a spooky mystery!

"Like, this is a groovy dance floor, isn't it?" Shaggy asked, dancing (badly) to the beat.

"Why don't you try dancing on it instead of everyone's feet?" Velma teased. Scooby flopped on the floor like a giant worm while Fred and Daphne tried some sort of two-step.

"Keep your eyes peeled," Fred muttered as he swung Daphne around. "Mr. Queen said the ghost always shows up around midnight."

Velma checked her watch. 12:01. "Then it's late," she said. "…in more ways than one…"

"Like, maybe it had a very important date, like, in the netherworld and, like, won't show up tonight," Shaggy suggested.

The music suddenly switched to spooky heartbeat sounds and a creepy pipe organ. "Did the DJ switch to his Halloween playlist?" Fred asked. In fear, Scooby jumped into Shaggy's arms for safety.

"Jeepers! Look!" Daphne cried. A ghostly figure appeared in the middle of the dance floor. It had glowing red eyes and a mouth full of sharp teeth. It began to sing in a low scary voice that seemed to come from everywhere:

"I bring a curse

From beyond my tomb,

This place is cursed

You all are doomed."

"Quick, grab that ghost!" Fred commanded.

But before anyone could move, a green figure swooped down from the balcony like Tarzan and landed like a cat in front of the ghost.

"Look! It's the Arrow," Fred called. "He's Starling City's resident superhero!"

"Like, if they have a superhero, why do they need us?" Shaggy demanded.

"Jinkies! Because the Arrow can't shoot a ghost!" Velma cried. "Look!" Fred and Daphne turned to see what Velma was talking about (Scooby and Shaggy covered their eyes).

The Arrow loaded ammo into his bow and arrow, but the arrows kept going right through the ghost. The ghost taunted the Arrow with another song:

"You can't hurt me

'Cause I'm already dead

But if you don't leave now

You might lose your head!"

With that, the ghost vanished, its creepy laugh echoing through the empty nightclub. The Arrow tried to rush after it, but tripped over a hiding Scooby instead and went flying.

He was able to recover quickly and was back on his feet in a minute. But he also was aiming his bow and arrow at Scooby! Scooby's ears were flat against his head as the Arrow glared at him. "Who are you?" he demanded.

Scooby gulped and skidded behind Shaggy's legs. The Arrow simply aimed at Shaggy instead, then moved to the rest of the gang in turn. "I asked you a question."

"Oliver Queen asked us to come!" Fred shouted in a panic. "He wanted us to get rid of his ghost."

"Well, why didn't you say so?" Arrow asked, suddenly friendly. "Any friend of Ollie's is a friend of mine." The gang relaxed once the Arrow had stowed his weapon. "So you're the ghost hunters I — I mean, Mr. Queen called in?"

"Like, unfortunately," Shaggy mumbled. Everyone else ignored him.

"Come on, I'll take you to my place," the Arrow said.

"Your place?" Daphne asked. "You mean the Arrowc—"

"Call it the Arrowcave and I use you for target practice," the Arrow growled. The rest of the gang shut their mouths quickly. They weren't sure what to make of this superhero.
