An old man by the name of Gohan is walking through the woods when he finds a baby boy in a strange pod "I think I'll call you Goku until I find your parents" Gohan says Gohan raises Goku for five years one day Gohan comes across an injured woman with a tail he brings her home to take care of her Goku sees her and asks "Grandpa who is she and where did you find her" Gohan replies "I found her unconscious outside a cave fifteen miles away I don't know who she is but she has a tail like you" the woman wakes up a few days later and sees Gohan she asks "Where am I and who are you" Gohan answers "My name is Gohan I found you in the woods and brought you to my home to help you get better I've noticed that you have a tail just like a baby I found about five years ago you also look like him so you must be his mother or sister" the woman says "My name is Gine where is this boy with the tail I must see him" just then Goku walks in the house with a massive fish and says "I'm home grandpa look at the size of this fish it's huge oh she's finally awake hi" Gine hugs Goku and explains everything about their home planet and race telling him his birth name and how she is sorry for not finding him even the sacrifice his father made to save his life and how she had stolen another pod to follow him but she got hurt when she landed on Earth Gohan then says "I see well if Goku or Kakarot truly is your son I won't stop you from talking him back a boy should be with his family always I have done my best to raise him as my own but before you go please get some rest until you're fully recovered" Gine responds "I'm thankful for what you have done for Kakarot but I won't take him away from you I would like to stay here with you and you can still call him Goku but I will call him Kakarot after all a boy should be with his family if he sees you as a grandfather I won't split you two up" "Thank you Gine you may stay with me for as long as you want" Gohan says
Many years later
Goku is now twelve he is walking back home with a huge fish when a girl in a car nearly hits him Goku picks the car up and throws it the girl shoots at Goku eventually she says her name is Bulma and that she is sorry Goku forgives her and offers her lunch she agrees they walk up to his house Goku introduces Bulma to Gohan an Gine Bulma sees the four star dragonball and explains what it is and about the wish Gine asks "Anything I want what is your wish?" Bulma answews "The perfect boyfriend" Gine responds "A boyfriend I would wish Bardock back he died saving me and Kakarot although you might know my son as Goku" Bulma says "Yes he said his name is Goku but why does he have two names and who's Bardock and what's with the tail your not like any humans I've seen except for the old man" Gine explains everything why Goku has two names about the saiyan race and Bardock's sacrifice even showing Bulma a picture of a scar faced man that looks just like Goku this was the only thing Gine brought with her from planet Vageta
Bulma notices that she can't be selfish and says she will help bring this family back together Bulma Goku and Gine set off looking for the dragonballs they meet many new friends an old man master Roshi a young man Yamcha a shape-shifting pig Oolong and a shape-shifting cat Puar Yamcha and Bulma start a relationship after just a few weeks they find five more of the dragonballs they now have six and are looking for the seventh and final dragonball they come across a flaming mountain and the Ox king he explains how he needs master Roshi and asks if they can find his daughter Chi-Chi Goku and Gine say they will be happy to help they find Chi-Chi and then get master Roshi Chi-Chi asks Goku if he will merry her Goku promises he would Gine smiles Roshi performs his signature attack the Kamehameha wave to put the fire out he ends up blowing up the the mountain and the castle on it the group finds the final dragonball in the rubble Goku asks master Roshi to train him Roshi agrees Goku then tries the kamehameha wave and it works shocking every one they summon the dragon Shenron Gine wishes for Bardock to come back to her this wish is granted in a flash of light Bardock appears "Where the hell am I show yourself Frieza" Bardock says looking around confused "Bardock it's really you it's been ages I can't believe it" Gine says trying to hold back tears "Gine what your alive" Bardock shouts running over to Gine hugging her and seeing Goku Bardock asks "Is that Kakarot" Gine explains everything about their adventures and how Kakarot answers to the names Kakarot and Goku Bardock hugs his son Goku isn't sure what's going on but this feels right Bardock lets go and says "Kakarot Gine wanna see something cool" Gine and Goku nod "This is a little trick I found out about in hell" Bardock says powering up his hair stands up and turns golden his eyes turn blue even his tail turns golden Goku is amazed by his dad Gine asks "Are you a super saiyan isn't that a legend" Bardock responds "It was a legend but when I was in hell I found out that the best way to achieve this form is rage so I used the anger of never being able to be with you again and the hate I have for myself for doing the things I did for the Frieza force I even had time to master this form I want to teach you and Kakarot this form" Goku happily says "Thats awesome dad I can't wait to get to know you and train with you mabey master Roshi will train you and mom" Bardock says "That sounds good son but where is your brother" Goku answers "I don't know mom always tell me stories but he never came to Earth as far as I know I'd like to see him but I don't know if I ever will" Bardock understands and asks Roshi if it's ok if he trains with him Roshi doesn't mind every one goes their separate ways Bardock finally meets Gohan and is thankful for what he did eventually Goku Gine and Bardock go to train with master Roshi this leads to Goku meeting a bald boy named Krillin they become good friends Roshi brings up the world martial arts tournament to Bardock and that he should join with everyone he is training with Bardock likes this idea they train harder than ever to prepare for this tournament
the tournament begins
After months of intense training it's time for the tournament Roshi gives his students the turtle school uniform but Bardock declines he liked his saiyan uniform and had another one custom made for himself it looked like his standard uniform but with the turtle school emblem on the chest and back "Good luck boys" Gine says Goku responds "Thanks mom" a few minutes later Yamcha Bulma Puar and Oolong show up Goku is happy to see his friends the tournament finally begins most of the fights are boring until Goku fights Krillin and wins then Bardock fights Yamcha and wins the fights continue until it's the final match The Announcer says "It's Bardock against Goku father against son tell me about yourselves" Bardock explains some of his backstory how he is a saiyan and the only way to tell that he is not human is the tail he and Goku have that Goku is just an Earth name Goku's real name is Kakarot he even talks about his combat experience Goku growing impatient says "Enough talking dad let's fight we don't have to tell him everything about us" They begin to fight Goku powers up to super saiyan surprising even Bardock but Bardock powers up as well and wins the fight Bardock asks "When did you learn super saiyan Kakarot I'm proud of you" Goku answers "I'm not sure but it's hard to stay super saiyan for more than ten minutes"
The Red Ribbon Army
A few months after the tournament Bardock hears about the Red Ribbon Army and that they're doing evil things he decides to stop them he brings Goku the two saiyans take out many bases and eventually they find themselves at a tower simply called muscle tower Bardock quickly takes out the enemys in the tower and then destroys it completely they continue until the army is completely dismantled they even managed to gather the all seven of the dragonballs deciding to not use them in case they are needed they end up back home eventually and continue training Goku masters super saiyan and eventually he tells Bardock about Chi-Chi and the promise he made even how he feels funny when he sees her
Bardock then says "Holy crap my son found love already just wait until you're older to get married" Goku responds "So thats what the feeling is I promise to wait until I'm older but anyways I can't for the next tournament in three years"
The tournament returns
Goku and Bardock have been training for three years in this time Gohan passes away from old age "Hey Kakarot do you remember that three eyed bald headed man we found what was his name" Bardock asks Goku answers "Yeah dad we made him and his friend see that they were doing bad things and even got them to train with master Roshi the three eyed ones name was Tien and his friends name was Chiotzu I think" Goku and Bardock arrive at the tournament and they see their friends again they even see Tien and Chiotzu the tournament plays out just like the previous one with Bardock winning once again later that night the group is having a feast when Goku remembers that he left his grandpa's power pole and four star dragonball in the arena Krillin goes off to grab it but doesn't return Goku feels like something is wrong so he goes to investigate finding Krillin dead Goku screams in agony and anger Powering up into super saiyan and even further his energy keeps rising causing Bardock to sense the masive power boost when he goes to see what happened he sees a super saiyan Goku holding a lifeless Krillin Goku's energy continues to rise until he passes out from the massive exhaustion from his powering up
the rise and fall of demon king piccolo
Bardock explains what happened to the group how Krillin was dead and the devil symbol near his body every one is sad to hear about Krillin Bardock looks at Bulma and says "It's a good thing you designed that box to hide the dragonballs from any radar the only thing missing was the four star dragonball who ever killed Krillin must be looking for the dragonballs I need your dragon radar so I can get the dragonball" Roshi stops Bardock and says "If that symbol was there that means it's demon king piccolo we can't kill him over my many years I have learned that piccolo's life-force is connected to the Guardian of Earth Kami if one dies the both die with out Kami the dragonballs will no longer exist the only way to defeat him is the evil containment wave it won't be easy but it will work" Roshi Teaches Bardock the evil containment wave Bardock confronts piccolo killing his demon soldiers on the way Bardock uses the evil containment wave on piccolo Kami then comes to see Bardock to thank him and offer some training Bardock takes this offer bringing Goku and Gine along so the could be together over the next three years Kami used the dragonballs to make himself have eternal youth so he could be around and help out Goku was walking around Kami's lookout when he saw a chest he asked Kami about it Kami explains that the chest holds the black star dragonballs a dangerous set of dragonballs Goku pulls out a small object he presses a button on on it turning it in to a box Goku puts the black star dragonballs in to it then reverting the box back in to the small object and gives it to Kami Goku then says "If these dragonballs are as dangerous as you say then hide them for the safety of the planet" a few hours later Bardock walks up to Goku and asks "Do you want to participate in the next word martial arts tournament" Goku responds "Hell yeah dad I'm eighteen now so who knows maybe I'll find Chi-Chi again I did promise to marry her and I always keep a promise and Krillin will most likely be there I never did visit him after we revived him it was a good thing we kept the dragonballs"
another world tournament
Goku and Bardock arrive at the tournament arena seeing Bulma Roshi Puar Oolong Yamcha Tien Chiotzu and Krillin they are all suprised to see a grown up Goku Krillin runs over and hugs Goku saying "Thank you for reviving me Goku" Goku responds "It was nothing you're my best friend I would do anything I can to help you" the group goes inside and is waiting for the tournament to begin when a young woman puts her hand on Goku's shoulder Goku turns around seeing her he starts to feel funny Goku asks "Is that you Chi-Chi" "Yes it's me I'm surprised you remember me does that mean you remember your promise as well" Chi-Chi responds Goku answers "Yes I remember the promise I made its all I've been thinking about for a week and if you still want to I will marry you" Bardock then says "So Kakarot this is the girl you spoke of well I can say she is beautiful but not as beautiful as your mother" the tournament once again plays out just like the previous ones but this time Goku wins Goku and Chi-Chi get married and have a son Goku names the boy Gohan after the man who helped him and his mother
