Harry was totally fine in the Dursley household, thank you, within the Cupboard under the Stairs. he always thought that there was something missing about him, something...important.

That thought grew after he received a mysterious letter on his birthday. Harry never got letters, they were always sent to his Aunt and Uncle, sometimes even his cousin.

When Dudley, his cousin, snatched the letter out of his hands and took it to his Uncle Vernon, who's eyes widened at the letter, he knew that it was that 'something...important' that was being kept from him.

Lies and secrets were common within the household, as they didn't want him to learn about anything and they had even lied about his parents. He knew how to read the Dursley's expressions from living with them for years and had often visited the library to learn about things they had kept from him.

It was his favorite place as Dudley would never get caught in the library, as well as the fact that it was the first place he learned what abuse was.

He had tried to get the teachers and police to get him out of the dursleys but in the end, something was always making them forget about his evidence. Harry gave up on that idea and decided to just endure it and wait, hoping he might find out what was stoping him and why.

Tuning his thoughts out, Harry blinked and faced his relatives. Vernon's face, as well as Aunt Petunia's, was glancing at him and the letter as if it was going to suddenly explode. Suddenly, Vernon threw the letter violently into the fireplace while looking horrified.

Harry was now curious after he had saw the a small glimpse of the letter already. It was something about a wizarding school called Hogwarts and it also had his cupboard address on it.

He wasn't worried about the letter being a joke. After all, any word/sentence that had to do with 'magic' was banned and Dudley would never utter the word after Vernon beat him for it.

Glancing at their faces in response to the letter, the way his relatives were acting was proof that they had known about it and never told him. Harry also often did 'Freakish Stuff', as Vernon dubbed it, and Harry knew it was probably magic in a way.

After an incident with him accidentally changing his teacher's hair when he got mad, suddenly appearing on top of the school roof running from Dudley's gang in fear, and the 'disappearing evidence' incident, he experimented a tiny bit with the 'Freaky Stuff'.

Everytime he was highly emotional, he noticed small, tinny tiny sparks of silver and red everytime and what he assumed to be magic would happen. Harry didn't know how to control it but decided to try keeping his emotions on a leash by meditation so he wouldn't be beaten for doing anything magical.

He wondered if maybe the school could help him with his ability and could help him get away from the Dursleys' abuse while he's at it.

Before he could make a plan to do research where the school was however, Vernon shouted at him.

"Get your items boy! you get in Dudley's second room!"

Of course, this confused Harry, as he wasn't allowed in any of the rooms unless he was cleaning.

"Sir?"

"Shut up boy, and do as I say!" His Uncle roared at him.

Unwilling to anger him any longer, Harry rushed to gather his blue old baby blanket and cott from his cupboard and into Dudley's second room. As he walked into his new room, the door behind him slammed shut.
