~ Magical Theory: The Magic of Love ~
Task #3: write about someone confessing their love for someone, and that person loving them in return.
Neville felt like he was invincible; like nothing could stand in his way. If only his parents could see him now!
I might as well tell her. He thought to himself as he weaved in and out of the crowd of terrified students. We might not live to the morning!
He spotted Harry and Ginny and grabbed Harry's arm. "You haven't seen Luna, have you?" He inquired.
"Luna?" Harry glanced at Ginny, who shrugged in response. "No, can't say I have."
"I'm mad about her!" Neville declared, pulling away. "I might as well tell her, we could be dead soon." He bolted up the stairs, leaving the stunned duo behind.
"Have you seen Luna?"
"No."
"Have you seen Luna?"
"Who?"
Neville couldn't help but feel frustrated, he checked the Ravenclaw common room, the dungeons, the Great Hall, the courtyard, he couldn't find her.
"Where else could she be?" He asked himself. "It's like she vanished." A light bulb went off. "Of course!"
Luna wasn't hiding; she simply needed a few minutes to recuperate. She did get hit by rogue debris pretty hard, Neville recalled.
Approaching the wall he had been living behind for months, he paced.
The wall split apart to reveal the Room of Requirement. Suddenly nervous, Neville took a deep breath before pushing the door open.
"Luna?" He called into the room, his voice echoing off the walls.
Silence.
"Luna? It's just me." He tried again. He closed the door behind him. "I'm alone, I swear."
The blonde hesitantly peeked around a pillar. "Oh, it is you," she smiled contently.
The brunet crossed the room and held the blonde at arms length, looking her for severe wounds. "Are you okay?"
"A bit hurt," Luna admitted with a shrug. "But nothing I can't handle."
It's now or never. Neville told himself. "Luna, I have something to tell you."
Luna's brows knit together curiously, something Neville had never seen of the often surprised looking girl. "Is everyone okay?" She inquired.
"Luna, I'm mad about you!" Neville blurt out, his eyes widening as soon as he said it.
The silence was deafening, even crickets couldn't break it. Was the room soundproof?
Did I make a mistake? Neville asked himself. His hands hung limply at his side.
However, his head snapped up when Luna's delicate hand reached out and grabbed one of his.
"I'm mad for you too," Luna confessed softly.
Grinning, Neville leaned in and kissed Luna. He pulled back and grabbed her other hand.
"Let's kick some Death Eater butt," he said.
Together, the pair left the room, mentally preparing for what was waiting for them outside.
